I visited Spectrum recently to return a router. One worker greeted me at the front door and asked me my reason for coming in. He told me to check in after I shared that I was there to return the router in my hand. I waited 30-35 minutes before getting called up. The worker asked me what brought me in and I repeat what I shared with the worker who greeted me at the door. However, this worker told me that the Spectrum store no longer accepts return equipment. UPS and some FedEx's take the equipment you want to return now. I'm pretty sure I made a face and a visible body jerk like I had been punched lol. After seeing my reaction, she added that she would go ahead and take care of it and she did which I appreciated. If I could offer a suggestion to the store though, it would be to make sure all employees know about the latest changes. Had the first worker told me that at the door, I could have google'd the nearest UPS and not waited. read more

I had a horrible experience at this store which caused a big emergency as they failed to transfer my data from my old phone. There is a lot more that I could tell you but it would take up too much space here. The service was so bad that I had to file a complaint with Spectrum Corporate about my experience. This store deserves a "0" rating. Check all these stores' ratings before you buy from them. Do not expect any service at this store. The store manager at Poyner Village Parkway is rude, lacks integrity and honesty and does not care for the customers. She says she will "pray for you" while you get no service. The employees there are either poorly trained, dumb, incompetent, apathetic or all of the above. It's too much to tell you the whole story but I advise you to never go to this store. read more

Very poor customer service. I entered the store not one person spoke. I went ahead and checked in. Waited til an agent was free and asked about returning the router and if I had to wait for everyone in there to be done just to return the router. She said yes and proceeded to tell me to go to the UPS store on Falls of the Neuse because Spectrum pays UPS to return their equipment and low and behold they close at 3 and it's well after 3pm!! Another lady was in there said OMG she know she could have taken that equipment it would have only taken 2 minutes!! I just agreed... some people don't use common sense when others are getting items and doing more complicated services and I just needed to give her my phone number she scan the equipment and give me the computer print out and I'm on my way. Thinking seriously of changing internet providers because they get more and more ridiculous every time I go into that office. read more

I experienced interruptions multiple times during the last few months. I was on 500MB plan. The speed was never up to the mark. The price spiked after the initial offer period. Once I found another reliable provider and called to disconnect, they were ready to give it for a fee much lower than my previous amount. It seemed so cheap and unprofessional. Once they realized that I was going to disconnect for sure, they didn't even prorate my amount. I don't recommend their unreliable services and customer support. read more

Spectrum will assume no responsibility for their errors and try to force payment for their ill will and scams. Service out half the week every week, refuse to send technicians out again after one diagnosed issue as outside connection and setup at apartment building. Avoid at all costs store at Townridge in Raleigh. Went to return equipment. Had to provide name & reason just to get in line. Waited with three others; my turn came up 25 minutes later. Took box to clerk. He required me to answer a number of questions, starting with do I watch all 131 channels? Marketing, you don't rate an F. You get a ZERO for wasting my time. I just wanted to return the box and get a receipt. At 37 minutes, Slo-Motion decided to go to the back. He returned at 47 minutes and said THE RECEIPT BOOK WAS IN THE SAFE AND NOBODY COULD GET IN, I should go to UPS. By then UPS was closed. This guy was making an hourly wage doing nothing! A little background before I discuss this visit. Two weeks ago I called the nationwide number, desiring to upgrade my modem speed and go with Spectrum streaming service. After multiple calls to try to figure out why my package had not been delivered in a reasonable time, I called and canceled the order and thought I would try to do the transaction at the Spectrum store. Following their social distancing rules, I went inside to register via a tablet and then went outside to wait in line with others. The wait time was less than 10 minutes. An employee called for me and took me to her work station to begin my transaction. I was very disappointed when the employee told me that the services that I had ordered over the phone were not available, and to get what I thought I had ordered I would have to go with the traditional cable box. In addition to that, the store quoted me a price that was $40 more than what I was told on the phone. I decided to keep the tv service I currently have and upgrade the speed on my Spectrum modem, which to my surprise actually reduced my monthly bill by $10. The absolute worst customer service of ANY company I have ever dealt with. Got my bill today for internet service, but noticed I was being charged $19.99 per month for basic TV service. I called to complain that I never ordered TV. I only wanted internet. Customer Service Rep said they would remove the TV service and I would only be billed for internet going forward. Tonight I got an order confirmation that WiFi service had been added to my bill for $5 a month. I never asked For WiFi, as I have my own router. Called Spectrum again and talked with a Customer Service agent who was condescending. But she agreed to remove the WiFi service that had been added. Made the CSR aware of my displeasure with Spectrum, due to service being added to my account. I asked to speak to a supervisor to notify them of the poor customer service I had experienced and I was put on "this will teach you" hold. After 20 minutes, I hung up. I do not typically write critical reviews, as I try to resolve any issues with a business with the management or owner. However, this is one business that has a history of negative reviews and I was unable to resolve my issues with a supervisor. I am unable to recommend Spectrum due to several issues (billing & service) that I have had with Spectrum since the end of June 2021. read more

Horrible service I was told to visit the store to do an early upgrade because of a SIM card issue once I got there I was greeted by a black woman with faux locs in her hair conversation started off friendly but quickly took a turn when I explained my situation she told me that my issue is not with her store but with customer service when I was clearly told to go to the store she kept saying to her other coworker how she had been there since 7:30 am and how she was ready to go so I already took it that she was rushing me out the way anyway so she proceeds to tell me that spectrum customer service is not the same business as the store which is clearly a lie I walked in expecting to spend over $300 only to be treated like I was begging for something for free. I will be calling the store in the morning to speak with a manager this is unacceptable. read more

This service is abhorrent. I experience at least a one to two hour internet outage during business hours DAILY. When we call Spectrum to notify them of the outage, they are apathetic and unapologetic. We've been told that this is an issue "at the road" that they are fixing. My whole experience with Spectrum has been horrible. I signed up for internet, TV, land line service. Reading the reviews was interesting. People's comments reflect what I found. This company is extremely "siloed." That is, it is broken into different units that perform different tasks. Each one is both oblivious and indifferent to what other silos are doing. The only department they don't appear to have is a functioning customer service department. I opted to have a Spectrum employee come out and install my equipment. I did that in part to ensure that the equipment they installed was adequate to provide the service they promised. I had been a Spectrum customer before. When they arrived, they found that the old line wasn't functional and needed to be replaced. The laying of a new line was scheduled for several days later. When it occurred, the Spectrum crew cut the line to my existing provider, leaving me with no service. I expected the installation people to get back with me promptly. But after several days, I called and learned that the guy who laid the line hadn't submitted a "ticket," so they didn't even know I was ready to be activated. It would be a few more days before the installation "silo" could fit me in. After activation, I quickly learned that (1) the router they installed was totally inadequate for my house, and (2) they had failed to "port" the land-line number that we had used for three decades. Instead, they had assigned me a new number. The only reason for keeping a land line was to hang on to a number that old friends, distant relatives and doctor's offices had. I worked my way through their horrid phone tree and finally got to someone who professed that they could help get my number back. But first, I had to call my old provider and make sure it could still be ported. I did and went back through the phone tree again. A different employee (you never get the same one) arranged for me to fill out an FCC form and set a date-certain to get the number transferred. Two days after that date, my old number was still not functional. I called again, and again got a different employee who sent me to another silo who dropped my call. After a total of five calls into their phone tree, it finally came to light that too much time had passed and my old provider would no longer release my number. Thanks to Spectrum, the phone number my family had used for over thirty years was gone. The only result of all this was that, on my Spectrum bill, the new number they assigned me was replaced with my old number. Not wanting to deal with their abysmal phone tree again, I sent a letter with my bill, explaining that I wasn't going to pay for a number that they failed to port and was no longer functional. Apparently, when Spectrum's bill-payment silo gets a notice like that, they simply throw it away. The next month, I sent another letter and adjusted my check to not cover the service they were not rendering. On my latest bill, I got an overdue notice. Oh, and I haven't even tried to address the router issue with them. No one from Spectrum has reached out to me. This company would be well-advised to take some of the money it's spending on advertising and spend it on providing service. Spectrum is the worst company I've ever dealt with. I strongly advise avoiding them. read more

Drove 40 miles to return the equipment. Arrived at 745 pm and I made eye contact with the employer in the store. When he saw me he ran in the back and 5 minutes later he walked from around the back of the building. He said his manager told him to close early. I spent 40 miles there, 40 miles home and I've got to make another 40 mile trip back again and then home. 160 miles to return equipment. That Spectrum refuses to cancel service until they have it in their hands. Worst customer service ever. Deserve zero stars. There were two more customers behind me. When there are limited options in the area you don't close early and have an employee who laughs about it in the customers face. read more

I simply went to the store on Sunday afternoon to return equipment since I have changed internet providers. I was looked straight in the eye and lied to. A black girl with colored contacts greeted me at the door seeing I had 2 boxes to return and told me "oh we dont take equipment here, you have to go to the ups store." Why would I go to the ups store when 1. I've spoken to spectrum customer service and they named this location as a drop off. 2. You guys are walking distance from my house. Yet, I said ok and left with the equipment. I reached out AGAIN to spectrum customer service and they AGAIN told me this location took equipment. Terrible experience. I canceled my spectrum account over the phone and came to this location to return my modem. Waited there for 30 minutes while on the wait. There was plenty of employees there going in and out of the back not acknowledging myself and others on the wait. Then I was approached by an employee who was just having a casual talk to a customer or friend, asking if I was making a return, I told her yes and she gave me directions to a UPS store so I could go return the modem there. I explained to her that I was told over the phone that I could either go to a Spectrum store or UPS to return the modem and I was already there for 30 minutes so I wasn't leaving. She proceeded to tell me "we don't except returns here, we can try but probably won't work, your best bet is to go to UPS". I made it known that I was frustrated and my patience was running out. She eventually called me over to her desk after she finished her pointless conversation with her friend. I got to her desk and it took her 5 SECONDS for me to return the modem after her telling me that "it might take awhile and might not work". This obviously told me the staff that works here is super lazy and do not care about customers. DO NOT PUT YOUR EGGS IN 1 BASKET! BEWARE!!!!!! Switched our cellphone services over to Spectrum. Been with the company whether Time Warner or Spectrum since 2001. Try some good ol' customer loyalty, right. Not reciprocated. Everything was going "OK" for a few months despite them not shutting down the data when the "by the gig" hits the gig. We had a talk with the kids and wrangled that in quick. Shortly after, our cable went down. That sent our household into the dark-ages because the kids phones run off of Wi-Fi. True, they have cellular service, but, that's burning data. What are the odds that the cell service is having problems as well. And its not our fault. So, NO TV, NO INTERNET and NO DATA for at least 4 lines. What do you think the kids did. ARE WE THERE YET? AE WE THERE YET? ARE WE THERE YET? No, kids, we don't know when the service will be fixed and we cant contact them. You call in and get, "We are aware of outages in your area. We are working to resolve the issues." CLICK! They terminate the call. That's when I realized how big of a monopoly they have. Now, to the latest "ISSUE". We decided to try and upgrade to their business class 3 weeks ago because we were told that the business side was separate from the residential. There would be a better dedicated team that will insure our services up and running incase of outages. The speed quality would be better. Guess what. As they told us, AFTER, we got the service, that's only if you are hardwired in. RED FLAG MISSED! The service you PAY for drops over Wi-Fi. We said, lets give it a go. Went to watch TV on multiple devices, cant. RED FLAG TIME! They no longer support Roku and other devices. That's most of my house because when the Spectrum App became available, you HAD TO HAVE their internet and cable to use it. Well, apparently, in December, they "Decided to terminate contracts with them." We are now required to purchase, ALL NEW APPLE EQUIPMENT. WTH, AYSM!!!!!!!!!! And, the business class will not run on anything but. They are now charging me $20 for that service. I said NOPE! MISSED THAT RED FLAG!!!! Time to send it all back. NEXT! The internet would cycle randomly and switch the phones to data services. We were unaware that this was happening. Our cellphone bills almost doubled. I contacted Spectrum Mobile to check on these charges. They told me the charges are correct because we used almost 10 gigs over. I said wait, It was Spectrums modem kicking us off. The CSR informed me I may have to take that up with Spectrum Business. I said FINE, transfer me. When I got to Spectrum Business, they said its not their fault because I should have connected the phones to the new router and been checking the signals. WHAT?! We have to connect the phones and monitor them every time we use them? Who does that? Want more? Please keep on reading. I spent 3 1/2 hours over the phone going back and fourth between the multiple "Divisions" of Spectrum to come up with, most of them didn't know and tried to tell me I couldn't have a Business and Residential service at a residence. I said," THEN YOU EXPLAIN TO ME WHY WE DO AND IM ON THE CALL WITH YOU TRYING TO FIX CHARGES THEN! Response, "One moment please". When he returned, he said, "Oh, I was unaware that could be done" LMAO!! I'm teaching and training them about their jobs. And I'm getting charged with my time and getting billed for it. HA! When he realized it, he said let me check the rest. Comes to find out, THEIR TECH guy should have reinstalled our old modem for the rest of the residential. And we wouldn't be having this problem. Did I forget to mention, I got charged $99.95 plus tax for this installation, when I told the CSR who set this up, AFTER 20 years of services with you guys, I DONT WANT IT! He CLAIMED, he waved to fee. NOPE! And, what was Spectrums response, "You have to pay that. That's a valid charge. This will not be the last time I will hear that. I should mention, they are rude until you ask for a supervisor or manager. DO IT!!!! JUST FOR THE HELL OF IT!!!! HA! Went to return the equipment and they refused the unused Business cellphone. I said why, UPS store said I would have to contact Spectrum Business. SO, I did. Spectrum Business said that do not handle any mobile services. Pawned off again. Are they serious? Spectrum Mobile told me, "That is your phone. We don't accept returns over 2 weeks. They sent a FREE $60 "Business Cellphone" that we never opened because we weren't sure we were going to keep the service. Come to find out, They charged us $115 for it. We are now pushing $750 for just the past 3 weeks. Not even a full month. I decided, IM AM OFFICIALLY DONE! Went to switch the kids phones over to Mint Mobile. My boy, Ryan Reynolds. DEADPOOL!!!! Worst customer experience I've ever experienced! Was advised by customer service to visit a local store to perform an early upgrade. The rep in store (extremely rude) told me there was no need to return the phone because it was paid off. I kept the phone and upgraded to an iPhone 11. Only to find out the following week that it wasn't paid off and I owed $224 on the device. The manger took 3 weeks to contact me still with no solution. With Spectrum for 6 months and during that time 3 hard outages for a day - three with no internet and I work from home. And make sure you read the fine print as they'll bring that up about billing, service cancellations and reason why you have to pay for services you did not use for the month even though spoke to agent to cancel services and the agent did not inform customer still liable for paying bill. Don't you stupid people at Spectrum think I would have disconnected services first day of the month if I knew I was still responsible for the bill because I didn't cancel on the last day of previous month! That's what's wrong with big business and tech companies! All new customers this store has pore customers service we bin up there 4 or 5 times to get a phone moved over. So I'm not a spectrum member and could be one but after today I will definitely not become one. They threatened to charge me with trespassing but I was going to try to talk to the person but she will not let u get a word in. I was told they could call the corporate if they have to and they refuse to do so especially since we bin up there that many times we keep getting a never ending circle. I can understand that they can't get there system to change but they could talk to a corporate representative!!!!!!! read more
