Needed wall outlet moved upward and over. This is how he left it. Said he'd follow up. No reply. Unprofessional

Well, I tried to give Jay the benefit of the doubt before I left a negative review, but time's up. Usually I only review businesses if they are either extremely good or if they do something that I need to warn people about. Unfortunately this is the latter. I found out about his services via a Facebook ad. The reviews there seemed good enough so I reached out. ( I should have checked the reviews on Yelp and Google first because it seems others had the same problems I did.) All I needed was a mounting for two flat screens. First red flag.. He missed the first commit date. Instead of calling me or texting (you know being proactive like a professional business does) I had to call him. He said he was sick. OK fine.that happens no problem. Rescheduled. Showed up. Saw he had a nice professional truck with his face on it and there's a mention of the business being veteran owned. Cool. I have 3 veterans in my family. I can respect that. I thought maybe he's professional afterall. He gets here and puts both TV's up . However he left the wall socket sticking out on one of them (which I pointed out before he left). He said he needed a piece of wood or something and that he would come back and fix it. He left the second wall socket for the 2nd TV the same way but this one wasnt nearly as noticeable as the one in my bedroom. This is my brand new house..new build!! Hasnt even been a year yet. I don't need this eyesore sticking out from my wall! I also pointed out a ding on the wall that wasn't there prior to. He didn't have spackling with him so I let him use some of mine. He was supposed to come back and fix both issues. I gave it a few days. Even let it go past a weekend thinking ok, maybe he's busy. A few more days went by and nothing, so I texted him.. no reply. Called and left voicemail. He calls back and as soon as I picked up call dropped. He texted saying he would get back to me ... nothing.. I gave it a few more days and texted him yesterday saying hey just following up with you.. its now 4/4/23 ..crickets. I even left a positive review on his Facebook the day he left, in good faith that he'd come back and finish the job ( review now deleted and will be replacing with this one) . I was actually going to have him put up 2 more tvs at a later date (which we spoke about ). I guess he doesnt like money nor cares about customer retention. I even tipped him against my best judgement knowing the first job wasn't finished. All I can say is..when you seek out a professional to do a job for you, read the negative reviews too. Seems other people had this same issue as far as not communicating or being true to their word. Jay, do better man... for every professional tendency you had, your unprofessional ways tarnish all of it. Now I have to call an electrician to come out and fix my socket. (Which by the way Jay did plug his electrical services before he left too). Too bad.. he seemed like a nice guy but is severely lacking in the professional department. Use him (or not) at your own risk.

Ahmed got back to me the same day and walked me through steps to troubleshoot my electrical…read moreproblems. He spent about an hour on the phone with me as he guided me through all of the issues I could be having. He was able to help me narrow down the source of my problems and provided guidance with what to do next. Ahmed put my mind at ease and I definitely recommend his business for your electrical needs.

I asked Ahmed and team to do a pretty decently sized job. It seems like a lot of the reviews on…read morehere are for small quick-fixes and maybe they're great at that kind of thing. I needed my whole house to be re-wired. Ahmed came in and thoroughly looked over the house before giving me an estimate. He and Jose really seemed to know what they were talking about and their price was quite a bit better than the next competitor. They gave me a price estimate and then said that the job would be done in three to five days (this time-frame was given to me in writing). A MONTH later they still hadn't finished the work. Many of the reviews here mention how awesome Ahmed and Jose are. I only saw Ahmed in my house once during the project. He farmed much of the work out to sub-contractors who, while polite, didn't really seem to have a handle on what they were doing. One kept telling me about all of the times he had electrocuted himself (he proceeded to electrocute himself in my living room). They cut a hole in an exterior wall straight into my living room while trying to install a floodlight and just left the hole. Most of the outlet holes they cut were WAY too big for the outlets and left just gaping holes all over my house. They tore up the ceiling in my bathroom, leaving it impossible to repair. They cut two holes in my bedroom ceiling to install one smoke detector. Aside from the fact that this project took literally 10 times longer than estimated, it was done so poorly I just don't understand where all of the positive reviews have come from. Here's the kicker. Ahmed came into my house after his crew had been working for a month. I walked him through the house showing him all of the incorrectly installed outlets, the holes in the walls, the destroyed ceiling in my bathroom, etc etc etc. He said "I think we did pretty good here, this project came along well." I was flabbergasted. Was this actually the level of success he was going for? He then proceeded to tell me that his team had to go above and beyond because I hadn't asked them to install a plug for a sump-pump under my house. He told me he wanted to charge me for this extra work. This was news to me as I had paid the crawlspace company to do that work. I called the crawlspace company and they assured me that they had indeed done that install themselves. When I confronted Ahmed about it, he backed down. He wasn't here when the install happened anyways so how would he know? He also told me that I should be grateful because they paid for the smoke detectors they installed. They didn't ask me about installing smoke detectors, they didn't tell me this should have been an extra charge or ask me how I'd like to pay for it. Instead they installed them and then told me later that I should have paid for them. ????? Ahmed also asked me for more money ahead of time during the project. The contract clearly stated that I was to pay X amount up front and the remainder when the project passed the inspection. He told me that he had to pay his guys and needed a middle payment. I was NOT going to go ahead and just hand him cash early. This was three weeks past the date he said he was going to be done by. He told me to check the contract. I did. He was wrong. With this motivator, he actually got to the point of getting the inspection done. They of course failed the inspection the first time. This isn't abnormal but the frustrating part was the amount of things they just tried to hide from the inspector. For a complete re-wire they're supposed to remove all old wiring from the house. This has not been done to this day. They got the old wiring that they thought the inspector would be able to see and just left the rest. I paid them to get it to pass inspection and they did. I guess I should have been more specific. He claimed that the project ended up being more difficult because they had to go through my attic with the wiring instead of through my crawlspace. We had completely discussed this challenge ahead of time however. I showed him the attic and he actually climbed up there before even giving me the estimate. He knew the scope of the project from the start, using that as an excuse was not going to work. It's been a couple of weeks since they left and I'm still cleaning up after them. Last week I tried one of the outdoor outlets they installed and when I was pulling the plug back out of the outlet, it just came completely out of the wall. It wasn't attached at all. Today I found a plug behind a bookshelf that wasn't attached to the plug box. Plugs aren't flush to the walls. I've reinstalled 6 of the plugs they've done already. I'm sure if I pestered Ahmed he would eventually send someone over to re-do some of these jobs but I'm well past this point. Every time they came in to my house they created as many problems as they solved. It's easier at this point to just fix things myself. Bottom line: Jose is great, otherwise stay away from Wired Up.
