Recently, while out of town 2 of my large screen TVs went out (Thunderstorm?). In addition, 2 other large screen TVs were problematic for months. My 4 TV problems included: the remotes didn't work, the sound worked, but no picture, the TV would cut off, no power, and etc. So, once again I contacted TV KING and again, he scheduled me promptly, arrived on time, and examined all 4 TVs. I thought I might have to purchase 4 new TVs. After TV KING completed all repairs, I have had no further problems with any of them. My coaxial cable plug broke off the back of my flat screen tv. Didn't want to buy a whole new tv. So I did my homework and found TV king. Skeptical at first with only three reviews considering the age of reviews. But took a chance anyway, glad I did! I spoke with Sean, the owner. Explained the problem and he gave me a fair price quote for about $80-$100 depending on what he finds when he comes to my home to fix the TV. We agreed for a first time appointment on a Friday but stated he would call ahead of time if running late. And he was and he did call to let me know to possibly reschedule which was fine. On the reschedule day on Monday he called ahead again to ask if the set time was OK and it was. He was early, prompt, courteous, and permanently fixed the repair. He also explain how it was going to be done and was done in 40 minutes. I learned that he was in business for 22 years and was extremely knowledgeable about upcoming electronics and trends in the industry which was interesting to learn about. We have Frontier communications Cable TV and one of their set top boxes blew 2 TVs From a dangerous set top box leaking voltage that repair technician was afraid he would be electrocuted. When frontier repair technician showed up and started checking voltage throughout the house in their equipment something scared him so badly when he got to the main tv. Had a very good experience with Sean, of TV King. Had a 55" TV that stopped playing video (still has audio - so now it was a radio). Called and explained problem, Sean said was most likely fixable and would come to my house and examine TV. I looked on yelp for someone near my house to help with an audio issue. I have a 7 year old LG TV that hasn't been working since March. I moved from California to NC and set up the TV after movers unpacked. After the initial setup I realized the audio was not working. I tried everything possible. Unplugging cords, resetting the TV box etc. I called the TV king today and explained my issue. He asked for my model number to the TV. Then he led me to some possible issues before he did his research on what the issue may be. I was instructed to hook up a DVD player to the TV and that it may be a cable box issue. Sean is awesome. My 2011 64" plasma went out and I had no idea what to do. I was able to check it with a meter and determined that it was beyond my scope of fuse changing.. Sean came over the next day, checked it out and determined the problem. Power supply was bad, common problem, and from what I read about these tv's, the capacitors where under rated.. He was not able to fix it with what he had in his truck(that would be a miracle), so he took the power board with him and had to order the parts. A few days later he had fixed the problem, upgraded all of the capacitors, and re-soldered all of the connections on the board(apparently they were cheap at the factory and didn't put enough solder on to keep them from cracking during the heat cycles). So for all of that, coming to my home twice...fixing, upgrading, and education...not having to buy a new tv, not having to dispose of my 64" in a landfill !!.. He charged me just over $200. Holy crap, I couldn't be happier with his service and his more than fair pricing!! Plus this Tv will probably last another 10 years. Excellent service! I called Sean at 9:00 on a Tuesday morning, told him the problem I was having with my TV and gave him the model number. He did some research and called me back at 4:40 that same afternoon to give me two possible reasons for my problem along with an estimate range to fix each. He charges $75 for a house call but applies it towards the repair if you choose to have him do it. We made an appointment for him to come out the following day. He arrived at 9:58 for a 10:00 appointment and the TV was operating perfectly by 11:00. The cost was reasonable and on the low end of his estimate range.
