An on-line search took me to Intrex. As soon as I put it on the counter, the young man said, Oh I can show you what this needs. In 3 days I have a computer that works like you would expect. It cost $100 to have this albatross fixed. I paid more than that because I had them add additional memory in order to put all my photos on it. My general experience was good with this company... it's just that I found out after paying and bringing my new drive home (but not being able to seamlessly access my data), tthat they don't have a mac in office. My new drive was formatted to Windows (although I'd already formatted it for compatibility with my macbook). While i can read the data, I can not actually open my Adobe libraries or programs, nor can i partition the drive because of the way it was set up. I will update my review upon final resolution.
