Came in to buy a new battery for my UPS. Service was friendly. Was assured by Michael that the battery sold to me was fully charged, and that all their batteries are sold fully charged. He did not check the charge on the battery before giving it to me. I get the battery home and install it into my UPS and the unit shows no charge in the battery. I call the store and speak with Megan. I tell her I am going to charge the battery and she says the UPS itself may be faulty. I agree. I charge the battery for 16 hours overnight with little hope. I turn it on, and lo and behold the UPS is showing a full battery charge. When I call to tell them they sold me an uncharged battery Megan tells me that this was "impossible" because all their batteries are sold fully charged. She speaks with Chris the manager, and comes back again with the same lame excuse "We only sell fully charged batteries." Well, pretty obvious that was not my experience. The arrogance is unreal. I am not offered a discount for my inconvenience, or at the very least, a longer warranty (they offer 1 year with battery purchases). Not even an apology. I doubt they care, but I will not return to this store. read more

I've been in this store twice recently and the customer service has been absolutely outstanding!! The staff members are friendly and knowledgeable and were able to help me troubleshoot my issues. I was impressed to learn that they sell and install car batteries. They also install watch batteries. I am so glad I found them as I had no idea where to get a watch battery changed since Sears closed! They also had some really cool gadgets for sale and I got an awesome really bright battery operated light switch for my incredibly dark coat closet. read more

Great experience getting a cellphone battery replaced. If you schedule your appointment online you receive a $10 off coupon for the service! The staff was very friendly. I was able to learn a few things about cellphone batteries during my visit. This specific store has a lifetime warranty on cellphone batteries. There is a 6 month warranty that is a store-wide policy so you can go to any store for the warranty to be honored in that time frame. If you are past the 6 month mark and you purchased your cellphone battery at this location you can still get the warranty! read more

My car broke down in the Walmart parking lot across the street. I figured it was the battery, and walked in to Walmart to see if they could help me as they 1) sell batteries, 2) have a Auto section where they can replace batteries, and 3) had just spent $200 on groceries in their store. The surly, dismissive employees pretty much told me that I was SOL. Luckily for me, Batteries plus Bulbs was right across the way. I went in there to see if they could help, and not only were they super friendly, they offered to help me jump my car so I could pull up closer to the store (thank god!) They tested my old battery to make sure it wasn't something different, and then installed my new battery and disposed of my old one for free. I cannot stress how nice these guys were, especially when you're about to have a meltdown because you have no idea how to jump a car and worried about a car full of groceries in the NC heat. I originally went to the Apple Store in Crabtree a while ago because my iPhone 5s would drop from 100% to 50% charge within about 30 minutes before shutting off. The customer service was horrible, and when I finally flagged somebody down, they said my phone battery was at the end of its "projected lifecycle." Not only was the quote pretty expensive, but they said they reserved the right to erase my phone and required keeping it for a couple days as they worked through a backlog of other customer repairs. I asked if I could just bring it in when they were ready to service it. They said, "no." I said, "no thanks." Instead, I went into Batteries Plus Bulbs on Glenwood and they swapped my battery out in about an hour for half the price, and it comes with a warranty. Pretty much every other customer was there for the same reason. Glad to see they are making a healthy business out this and offering a better experience than what even first-party repair services can offer. read more

For some years, I went only to the BPB store on Atlantic to get the battery in my nice watch replaced. On my last visit, the sales person opened the watch up, and told me the metal part that held the battery in place was broken. It was broken by either that sales person or the previous person, but they refused to take responsibility. The watch repair was expensive. I quit going to BPB. But, after a few years, the Brier Creek store (it is now moved to Glenwood Ave) opened close by. I got batteries there sometimes, for things when I could easily change the battery myself. Recently I took a timer to their new location to have the battery replaced. When I got home, I saw that they had not replaced the plastic piece that holds the battery into the timer. So now I had no working timer, plus I had paid for the battery that was now useless to me. No more visits to BPB stores. read more

This is a little late but I want to share. During Hurricane Matthew I thought it was a good idea to go outside and get some video footage. Of course my phone got wet so I put it in some rice. A piece of rice then got stuck in the charging port and I was unable to charge my phone. Batteries Plus removed the rice and didn't charge me a dime. They were incredibly nice and didn't laugh at me..... too much. It's hard to find good customer service, but these guys surpassed my expectations. read more

In response to above, I did not seek my merchandise elsewhere.. this is incorrect. And yes, the 2nd part of my order DID come in the next day (the batteries) but the lanterns I had purchased had been sold to someone else after I had already paid for them, so I no longer needed just the batteries. I have had both of my kids cell phone screens replaced here- twice. Both experiences were great, there was an issue with my daughter's camera (a result of her dropping it) and the guy that helped us was very straight forward about the issue. I chose not to get the camera fixed that day but he gave me a discount card to use in the future if I decided to get it repaired. The service has always been really fast, and it's always interesting to browse the random assortment of things that are available for purchase there. read more

If I had an option for 10 stars I would have given them a 10. Customer service is exceptional! Please go there for all of your battery needs. Tom went above and beyond to help me, I was in a bit of a panic because I had a project due and I had left part of my charger at the office... Which was locked for the weekend. I went all over trying to find a universal charger but I had no luck. As a last resort I stopped at batteries plus, figuring if worse came to worse I could buy a whole new laptop battery. Tom was so great, he explained, I really only needed one part of the plug, and that what I needed was pretty universal. He managed to scrounge up one, and only charged me $5. He really saved the day! I created this account just for this review. I went in after searching in at least 3 different hardware stores looking for a specific light bulb that was specifically used by my apartment complex. We walked in and were greeted by a friendly employee named Ryan. I handed him the bulb we needed and was able to point me to the ones we needed immediately. He showed me the options they had with both cheap and higher end, longer lasting bulbs. I went with the led bulbs even though usually more expensive they were a great price at this store. If you ever need bulbs or batteries or even a question head to this place first and just cut out the head ache of searching all over Raleigh. Definitely will be back. read more

I can't believe there are so few reviews. This place is my go-to for all things related to power. There is ALWAYS somebody in the store who knows how things work (or don't work) together whether you need something simple or something not so simple. Today I bought a 12 pack of batteries at a price competitive anywhere, including the Wally World next door, and got a lot of esoteric how-do-you-do-that offgrid power questions answered by the very knowledgeable and friendly dude at the store. And you don't have to buy something to get info from these folks; they are glad to steer you toward the right thing or away from the wrong thing or just bat the breeze whether you buy or not. Everything I've ever needed, they've had in stock - weird bulbs, really odd batteries, cell phone batteries, laptop batteries (and chargers), replacement watch batteries (that they install for free)...anyway, I'll stop now. Great store, well stocked, always friendly people who actually know what they're doing. A zillion thumbs up. read more
