The communication was terrible. I never received phone calls, texts, or emails regarding the status of my computer. I called many times and was told they were waiting on a part. I was then told on the second to last call that my computer was recycled a long time ago. Never was I informed of that the times that I called. They also told me they left a voicemail, but through all my records, even the deleted ones, I did not receive a call. The least you can do as a company is to continue to reach out and not call someone once, regarding a physical computer and Wi-Fi adapter I brought it in. I lost photos and things I can't back. They even had the audacity to sell me a computer worth the value of mine to make me feel better and told me they were going to see if they could get my files back. That made it feel like they were just trying to say whatever just so that I wouldn't get upset. Then called again and they told me they didn't have the files, after what seemed like they did. Not to mention the whole store was a mess and had parts all over the place. Don't go here, they will not communicate with you and steal your property. read more

Seem nice and courteous at first, but this place has communication issues. I dropped my damaged USB flash drive off on 3/25. I received a text immediately, and the person I dropped it off to said all communication would be made via text. I never received any updates. Each time I needed updates, I had to call. Finally, on 6/12, I was told they could not recover any data (when I called). It was damaged beyond repair. The person who answered claimed they called and left a message, but I'm sure they dialed the wrong number because I never received one phone call, voicemail, or a text update about the service. I finally picked up my damaged drive yesterday, 6/15, and I'm not sure it's even what I dropped off because it's in completely different packaging than what I dropped it off in. This guy seems nice but lacks clear communication and lied about calling. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The appearance of this place alone should turn everyone around. It needs to be cleaned up at least in the front area where they receive customers. read more

Like you, I have worked with many vendors in the long course of my career and life. Some are incompetent, some are forgettable, some are very good at what they do, and some are absolute superstars. Adam Barakat at Undead Electronics heads the list of superstar vendors. No matter what I did, the monitor kept saying 'no signal received.' I had tried every possible solution that a lay person can do. Then, I brought it to Best Buy to see if their Geek Squad could figure out why my computer would not turn on. They told me it was too old (15 years, Window 7, and other software as old as 25 years) and it wasn't one that they serviced. They did, however, do me a great favor and in telling me about Undead Electronics in Raleigh, off of Avent Ferry road, next to the Dollar Store. I brought my computer in, and in one minute Adam was able to diagnose that my hard drive was failing. I left the machinery overnight, and he was able to save the data off of the hard drive, make an image of the drive, and restore me to fully functioning. Would you call this a miracle? Well, not in the biblical sense. However, to be able to get my computer back, turn it on, and continue working without missing a beat is a miracle to me. If you've got any kind of issues with the functioning of your electronic equipment, give Undead Electronics a whirl. Productivity-wise, it might be the best move you ever made. Adam at Undead Electronics is a CONTACT to KEEP for me. One call, walk in, Lenovo laptop problem solved. He diagnosed my problem, solved it in 10 minutes. Granted, it was not a very difficult issue (fried RAM card) but he was fast, professional, and very reasonable. He pointed out issues with the batteries that seem very hazardous, with no expectation of making more money on it - pure, 100% helpfulness. The repair person never actively updated to me. He said he will text me with updates and I never receive any messages or calls. I need to call him or came to the store for update. And he was delaying to repair my computer even though I told him thousand of times that I need it for my work and also I am leaving this city soon. My computer was damaged by water. He spent one month to fix it and he charged me $440 in total. It was too much expensive and he even didn't fix it well. And I think he lied about the fee at the beginning I asked him. I just remembered he said the keyboard needed to be changed and it gonna cost me $400 for purchasing the second-hand keyboard and $40 something for repair. But my keyboard wasn't changed because he said the second-hand keyboard he has is not compatible with my laptop. I have to use a DELL AC Adapter to power my laptop for use. And he charged me $90 for the adapter, which is only around $30 online. I have no idea that the the repair fee for a water-damaged computer was starting from $320, which he told me after I asked him why this is so expensive at the pick-up day. I really don't recommend this place and the person was not reliable at all. read more

Undead Electronics is amazing! I have a 2012 Macbook pro and the entire hard drive crashed on a Wednesday. I figured everything was lost and I would have to buy another laptop. My fiance found Undead and I am so glad he did. They were able to pull all of my data from my hard drive, even my Vows which I had started days before the crash. :) They even installed my new hard drive, Ram( which we bought separately) and add back the most up to date MAC software. By the next Tuesday my computer was re built and running like new, Thanks to Undead I don't have to spend $1000+ on a new laptop. read more

I had a computer from 2008 that had been sitting unused in the house for many, many years. Brought it in for data recovery, thinking there might not be anything salvageable on it, and amazingly, they were able to recover the data! I got back photos and videos that had so much sentimental value to my family and would have been lost otherwise. Adam was wonderfully communicative and transparent from start to finish. If you're like me, your computer is your lifeline. I'm a writer and illustrator, and without my computer I'm dead in the water professionally. So when my computer started to overheat I dreaded taking it in for repair. In the past I've had shops download a virus onto my computer, install inferior parts and keep my computer for two weeks to change the graphics card. Not good. I simply think $110 is too expensive to replace a Dell keyboard. A new keyboard is $35 on Amazon and it takes less than 3 minutes to pop out the old one and replace with the new. Definitely a diy job next time. read more

These guys brought my computer back from the dead... literally! I have a terrible time with dropping computers... and I dropped my computer for the second time snapping the power port off the motherboard, living in a new city, and not knowing who to turn to. These guys did a fantastic job with my laptop! I also had my HD wiped as I was having some big issues after upgrading to Windows 10... I brought my TV in a while ago to them and after a series of unfortunate incidents that were out of the current owner's control, my TV was unable to be located. The current owner was amazing and extremely kind and apologetic about this. He was honest, upfront and replaced my TV without hesitation. He did not have to do this as this is now under different management, but he did. I will continue to bring all of my electronics to Undead and HIGHLY recommend them.
