Salmon
Ruriko S.

This review is way overdue. We visited Porterhouse on a Tuesday night. We shared a Caesar salad and each had the salmon. Everything was delicious and well prepared. The service was great, and street parking was convenient.

I was really excited to try Porterhouse and thought our anniversary would be the perfect occasion. We arrived dressed up, expecting a more upscale atmosphere, but were a bit disappointed to find many patrons in sweats and T-shirts. The overall vibe was much more casual than anticipated. The food was fairly average. The bread was disappointing and tasted a bit stale. That said, I did enjoy the steak, crab cake, and the potatoes with bacon. The cocktails were also decent. Service was excellent and definitely added an extra star to the experience. I do love seeing so many new restaurants opening in El Segundo. Overall, Porterhouse is worth a try--just be sure to set your expectations accordingly.

Came here to celebrate my husband's work achievement. Got a reservation day of and went 2 hours after booking. We both got the Prime Ribeye and fries. Prime Ribeye - First bite and I was shook. I don't even crave steak like this, but it was cooked perfectly and sooo tender. Wish there was sauce that came with it, but you have to order it on the side. Definitely recommend getting sauce since this piece of meat is very fatty. Fries - This item is not on the menu but you can order it on the side. It was nothing special and honestly, the fries tasted overdone. They skimped out BAD on the portion. Overall, would definitely come here again for a nice dinner when I have $200 to spend LOL.

We came here before going to Candy Cane Lane. I've been here for Dine LA and Happy Hour so I knew the prices would be comparable to all good steak houses. But I believe they have the best burgers in the South Bay. This time I tried their Thursday special which was steak frites(hanger steak and fries). It was nothing special and I should have ordered the burger. Service is fantastic.

this has taken a look at the bar, a great selection of your spirits, and the bartender hooked up some hell of a good drinks two

Let me first stat by saying if you're a firefighter a relative to a firefighter or someone inspiring to be a firefighter, you need to check this place out, dedicated to a Firefight from Riverside, California. Now let me go into the restaurant the food the service in the ambience two thumbs up five stars. Everything was so good. A big shout out to our server Maria who did an amazing job check out that ribeye. You will not be disappointed. I will definitely be going back again.

My first time going to this little hidden gem and it was such a great experience. I think it's really only known by the locals so it doesn't get crazy crowded unless it's the weekend. I do still recommend making a reservation. The bar is so cute and has everything you could ask for and the wine selection is extensive. I had the porterhouse steak and had it cut and cooked medium rare. I can honestly say it was perfectly cooked it perfection and I'm picky when it comes to steak. The service was impeccable and the ambiance was perfect. I highly recommend this quaint steakhouse and it's definitely going to be a frequented restaurant by me.

Intimate and Welcoming Experience! I celebrated my 32nd birthday here with a small group. The hosts were not only friendly but also accommodating. The food was excellent! I could have asked for a better steak, or moment trying out a new restaurant on my birthday. I was appreciative for them being able to store my birthday cake, and serving it. El Segundo is one of my favorite cities, the locals are so nice and it's calm in the area. I hope you enjoy!

Asparagus, potatoes, New York Wagyu (I don't remember the sauce but it was delicious!)

My husband brought me here for my 35th birthday dinner. Very cozy and intimate as soon as we walked in. We were greeted and seated right away since he made reservations. The service overall was wonderful and our server made great recommendations and answered any questions we had (portion sizes, favorites). Started with some drinks, I just remember ordering paper plane second and my husband had the old fashion. Both drinks were yummy ! We started by sharing the oysters on the half shell. They were pretty good but I'd want to try a different appetizer next time. We ordered a Caesar salad and they split it for us and also ordered bread, both were really good. Shared the Wagyu 12oz New York, jumbo asparagus, and the mashed potatoes. He explained all of the sauces and the one we ended up choosing was soooo good but I don't think the steak NEEDED it. Dessert came as bread pudding for me and melon cheesecake for him. Overall, had a great night with great food and great company!

We started off being the only table seated, but the restaurant quickly filled. It was a little loud with the interruptions from the party in the back, otherwise it was a nice quiet booth. Our server was helpful and patient while we decided our meal. It was uncommon that we were told that we had to order everything at once [apps, entrees, sides] per the chefs request. We ordered a bottle of French Bordeaux, a tomahawk to share, bleu cheese sauce, and a side of mushrooms as well. The wine was lovely and it was served by the waiter continuously (as it should be). We did notice we weren't offered to let our bottle breathe as the table behind us was, perhaps because the manager served their bottle and he specialized in wine. When our tomahawk came out, it was cooked beautifully as ordered. Though it wasn't the best cut we've had compared to other distributors. The bleu cheese sauce was the perfect companion to the beef. The mushrooms were not as great, the shallot was lost among the earthiness of the overall palette. My husband ended up dipping his in the sauce. We ended our meal with the butterscotch pot de crème and bread pudding. Both were fantastic, the pot de crème was the favorite. Unfortunately we didn't get photos of more than the steak because we were enjoying our meal.

Great food and service. Food is cooked to perfection. Definitely going back on next business trip. Highly recommended this steak and bar.

Very good, I almost feel bad giving it 4 instead of 5 stars but there are some steakhouses in the country that really stand alone so reserve the 5 star for them. But the ambiance here in downtown El Segundo is great, service is top notch and they have prime and Wagyu choices. Plus the bartender is very good and they specialize in my favorite - bourbons. Terrific old fashioned. And the prices weren't outrageous, pretty take for the LA

Stopped by last night for the DineLA promo. Upset that I haven't been here sooner! The food was great, the service is amazing! Counting the days until I return. Erin was my server, very knowledgeable of the menu with great recommendations! The shrimp cocktail was probably the best I ever had, "colossal" as an understatement, they were massive, with great flavors! The steak tartare was delicious, make sure you ask for extra crostini's as the tartare portion is grand. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection! All in all, will definitely be returning, ASAP! Perfect for date night!

After we got our nails done we were hungryyyyy. So my boyfriend found this place on maps and it wasn't that far from where we were at. A little windy but it was still warm. Came in 20 mins early which kitchen didn't open until 5 but we sat at the bar and waiting. Waiter was amazing ever attentive with us. Once the kitchen opened we ordered the spicy oysters and bread and let's say 10 out of 10! Our food was so good I end up taking mines to go. So damn delicious. The vibe here is very lowkey. Very nice for a date night or first day. Waiter name is Mikayla ! Please tell her she's amazing and give her a manager job or something. So well detailed with the menu and her overall aura is so bright! Definitely will come back just to see her

Is there a corkage fee?

Corkage is $35, to be expected at a nice place like this!

This spot checked all my Tiki-bar boxes: moody lighting, fun kitschy décor, and seriously great drinks. I started with a Mai Tai--perfectly strong but still super tasty--then switched to a glass of Chardonnay so I wouldn't be completely blitzed for the movie. We still had time to spare, so I finished with a virgin Piña Colada and oh my gosh, it was delicious. Loved the jukebox and pool tables, too. Huge thanks to Lindsay for the excellent service. No mint on top, zero lime flavor, but a cherry on an umbrella. I literally took one sip and pushed the glass back to the edge of the bar. Not one bartender or bar back came to check on my party after sitting our drinks down. After about twenty minutes of being ignored someone came and grabbed my husbands empty glass but left my completely full glass sitting on the bar mat. Another ten minutes or so of still not being checked on and we finally decided to leave. I'm out the twelve bucks for my drink but I consider it a twelve dollar lesson in not coming back here again. Sadly, the only reason we chose to get drinks at this bar was because I insisted I wanted a drink before heading home.

I ordered the ahi tuna poke with the rice and ir was perfect. The crispy rice wasn't rock hard like other places, so you don't feel like you chipped a tooth. It was a little soft and chewy. For drinks, I got the Fall Spritz, and sorry I can't believe I didn't take a picture of it but it was delish! The service was good, we went before 8pm Social Hour so it wasn't as busy and the servers were attentive. There were only 2 for the entire roof top. It did get a lot busier at 8pm. This place is super cute for a date night and a lot of fire pits and heaters made it nice and cozy.

Server Álvaro is an actual SAINT at Saint & Second!…read more I want to start by clarifying that I went to S&S yesterday afternoon ready to cry major boo-hoo tears to my two besties, without much of an appetite. Instead, I ended up with a full belly and side cramps from laughing along with our awesome server, Alvaro. The Man. The Myth. The Legend that he is! Small Backstory: Last Friday I lost my job of almost 25 years in public education due to a complicated work accident (my back was broken & I now have screws in my spine) and I planned to whine to my best friends into a cocktail or two, and get out plenty of Kim Kardashian ugly-cry faces until it would be time to go home. Enter ALVARO! This kind man had the nerve to be polite to us! The nerve! LOL. He greeted us with a warm smile while my cold heart was practically making it snow. He explained all portions of the breathtaking menu when I had planed to eat my sadness. He even had the GALL to say if we wanted something not on the menu that he would see what he could do to make it happen! Here I was, ready to drink Unicorn Tears, and he was cheering me up! WHAT THE??! LOL The three is us started with the MEZZE PLATE. And OH LORD! I think we ate the print off of the plates while trying to get to the last crumb. We polished off a whole extra serving of cucumber slices in the process, by the way, and I'm not embarrassed to say that. The Turkish honey-sweetened labne was such a party in our mouths! Make of that what you will. Each of us got a dinner entre, with mine being the S&S Fish and Chips. I loved that the fillet was not overly battered and the chips had an almost double-Belgium fried taste going on. I couldn't help but swipe several spoons worth of aged-cheddar grits off a friend's seared pork chop plate. Now THOSE were some butter-heaven sent grits! My drink, that kept shooting partially through my nostrils from laughter, was a classic margarita on the rocks. No margaritas were injured/harmed in the process of my belly laughter. At some point towards the end of our night, a patron of the mall next door pulled the site-wide fire alarm, ringing through the whole location for everyone to use caution and head to the closest exit. If you grew up like my friends and I, you don't follow that suggestion unless you're trying to run out on the bill like a jerk. Bless be to Alvaro, he stopped by our table several times to apologize about the noise and flashing lights and explained the fire department was working on it. I explained that the Hood Cricket sound didn't bother us and we were happy to wait out the alarm. So not only did Alvaro provide us with excellent service, an outstanding meal, and generous smiles, but he also made sure that we felt SEEN. And THAT is what made the whole evening worth it. No sadness or cringey tears about a lost job were needed. It ends up all we needed was a server named Alvaro at Saint & Second to make my spirits feel high again. Pricing is a bit high but was totally worth it! Patrons were dressed business casual. Sound level, not counting the hood cricket, was mid and conversation was easy to have. Several televisions were playing different stations but no captions were provided. There is handicap parking available in the parking garage located just outside the front door of the establishment and no stairs or elevators are needed to enter. There are several entrances/exits to the available outdoor seating area and outdoor heaters are available. Glances around showed me that every patron I saw was tucking into their plates with smiles and were enjoying themselves. I have already made plans to return to S&S in another two weeks because it was indeed THAT GOOD! And for those fine diners that are wondering, "But what is a Hood Cricket?" An HC is a chirping fire-alarm that some of us are able to tune out with ease. You're welcome!
