Came here to celebrate a birthday and I'm glad I picked this spot! The vibes and aesthetic were everything. The customer service was great. We got the Waygu cigars as an appetizer. They were good, a lot of flavor, sometimes too flavorful like overpowering but still good. I got a filet with Mac and cheese and loaded baked potato. The Mac and cheese was sooooo good and creamy. The espresso martinis were a 10/10. The only thing we did not like was the carrot cake dessert. The ice cream it came with or sorbet was not good at all it has a weird taste. On Thursday, April 16, 2026, I decided to host a little get together for some old friends at BOA Steakhouse in Manhattan Beach. I am probably going to date myself, but here goes. Back in 1980, while a junior in high school, I noticed a really cool group of guys hanging out on campus attracting all the young ladies. Since I knew a couple of the guys already because I played little league baseball with one of them, and varsity football with the other (who would go on and play for the Raiders), I asked if I could join the group. I did not know it at the time, but later found out that they called themselves "Members Only." Yes ... I said Members Only! Before you ask, yes everone had at least 2 Members Only Jackets. Fast forward to the evening of 4/16/2026, at BOA Steakhouse, I was really excited to see the guys because I had not seen most of them since The Members Only Very Merry Xmas Dinner Party that I hosted at Ocean Prime in Beverly Hills, the previous year. Now back to BOA, dinner and service was great for the most part. Several fellas ordered steak with a side of Alaskan King Crab Legs, and I had my usuual Seabass with my favorite Old Fashioned drink. I tried to warn a couple of the fellas about ordering Alaskan King Crab Legs at a restaurant that didn't Specialize in Alaskan King Crab Legs, but they didn't listen and complained once their ordered arrived. Several hours later, when the bill was finally dropped off, I had consumed 4-5 old fashoned drinks and I was in a Great Mood. I therefore paid the bill and then we went outside and talked for a while and took some pics. Apparently, I had enjoyed myself a little too much because the General Manager, Eddie, called me and informed me that I had forgotten my credit card. I therefore walked back into the restaurant and retrieved my card. There was not a problem until the next day when I sobered up and looked at the bill. Apparently, the side of Alaskan King Crab Legs that the fellas ordered with their steaks were $120 each. This caught me completely off guard because there were 4-5 crab legs that measured approximately 5 inches long placed into a small bowl. Instead of delivering 1-2 Alaskan King Crab Legs to the table for each guest that ordered them, the chef decided to cut them up and deliver them in a small bowl. Bottom line is, I was Not satisfied with the quantity of crab legs in relation to the price paid. A few days later, I managed to get GM, Eddie, on the phone and expressed my disappoinment with the Alaskan King Crab Legs that my guest ordered. According to Eddie, my guest ordered 8oz crab legs each and that's exactly what was delivered to them. When I asked , Why the crab legs had been cut up and placed in a small bowl? He responded with "For Convvenience!" Apparently, the table would not have accommodated several Alaskan King Crab Legs, so for Convvenience, they cut them up into approximately 5 inches long and placed 4-5 of them in a small bowl. To be honest, his response Stunned Me because living in Laguna Beach and having Real Alaskan King Crab Legs in local restaurants, they did NOT appear to have that problem. I will NOT return! We took a friend here for lunch today and everything was A+! Parking is free and right next to the restaurant which in LA is always a plus. First off, the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and everyone made us feel so welcoming for our friend's birthday. Our server, Alycia, went above and beyond to make our visit so special. The service was outstanding and our food was delicious. We had the Club Sandwich smoked turkey, applewood smoked bacon, tomato, avocado, provolone, onion brick, roasted garlic aioli (two of us) and the Smash Burger-double-stacked Wagyu beef, American cheese, house sauce, lettuce, tomato, and onion. I had truffle fries that were delicious as well! For dessert, we had the Sticky Toffee Pudding with Fosselman's Salted Caramel Ice Cream and caramel sauce. This was not our first time at BOA, but our first time at this location. I can say for sure we'll be back! Our delightful server Edgar was the cherry on top. He was attentive, patient and had the best personality. Thank you, Edgar for the amazing dining experience. My steak was kinda dry but the temperature was perfect. The chicken Parmesan is enough for two to share, so we'll be taking some of that home. The Wagyu meatball is so tasty! The classic Caesar salad is the BEST, and the Brussels sprouts with chorizo were delicious, even though we couldn't find any chorizo. All in all a great experience and we will return. read more

One of the best steakhouses I've been to! The server was really knowledgeable and gave great recommendations for our larger group. The wagyu flight was delicious. The meat just melts in your mouth. The center cut filet was also cooked to perfection and seasoned well. All the appetizers and sides we had complimented the meal perfectly. A friend invited me to a birthday dinner at BOA Steakhouse in Manhattan Beach in early July 2026. I had never been nor heard of BOA but was excited to try their many steak offerings. Now, I am not a steak aficionado so my review will be quite tempered. If you look at their menu, you will see that this restaurant offers typical steak cuts such as American sirloin to Japanese Wagyu. If you prefer a lean cut of steak, then order the Filet Mignon. If you like a large piece, then go for Center Cut. If you can't finish a man-fist sized steak then order the Petite size. I ordered my steak medium done with bearnaise sauce and peppercorn sauce on the side. This was a conservative order considering that filet mignon does not contain fat, yet the seasoning of the meat was clean while the texture was tender yet hearty. The side sauces elevated the flavor. For example, the bearnaise had a citrusy taste that was perfect for summer while the peppercorn had a heartier flavor that made the meal more robust. For sides, I tried the lobster macaroni which had a strong seafood flavor that I could not abide. It also was not cheesy or saucey enough for me. No melty texture that most people like with mac and cheese. We also shared cream spinach which was acceptable, nothing impressive. We also had a side of fries which tasted like thick cut fries from a fast food joint. I wouldn't care to re-order these fries ever again. I would experiment with something more interesting. My dining mates ordered the Ribeye Medium which they enjoyed. I didn't try it so I cannot pass judgement on it. Shockingly, what stood out tus most of the meal was the dessert. We were gifted a toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. The pudding was a beautiful dark coloring which reminded me of aged rum. The texture was smooth with a sticky honey sweet topping that reminded me of lava. It paired perfectly with the crisp vanilla ice cream. Just divine! The server was incredibly kind and thoughtful to us. The restaurant itself was majestic in its jungle design. I did not feel like I was in Manhattan Beach because it felt so tropical. I definitely recommend this place for its steaks, but I wouldn't try different sides. read more

I've had BOA Sunset Strip years ago and this was my 2nd time at the BOA. You can either valet park or find a mall self-parking spot (easy and free) at the Manhattan Village. This is your high-end steakhouse. You will be paying top dollar for food here and it's all worth it. Steak dinners, my rib eye was cooked to perfect (medium rare, $89), with our side mashed potato ($16), and mac n cheese ($16). My steak was soft and buttery from first bite to last. We had a couples dinner with a couple of friends and their S/Os at this BOA location in Manhattan Beach. The overall experience was very good. I don't remember the individual price of each item. However, the prices are in line with other high end steakhouses. We started off with the Full seafood platter, and it was packed. We enjoyed oysters, mussels, prawns, lobster, crab meat and I think poke. All of the seafood was super fresh, and the amount of food was plentiful for 6 of us. Secondarily, we had the bone marrow at the suggestion of our waiter. The meat on the toast was super moist, and the torching of the marrow at the table was a cool touch. Between all of us, we had ribeyes, NYs and one person had a filet mignon. There were no complaints, and the steaks were made as requested. The sides were really good, esp the fries and mac & cheese. The tallow fries were super crispy bc they were fried in beef fat, and the mac & cheese was rich from the truffle. Lastly, the comped desserts were a great way to end a savory meal. We appreciated the gesture bc of our large tab. Regarding the ambiance, its big in here and the tables are spaced nicely. It was easy to carry on a convo. Our waiter Kevin, was super knowledgable about the menu, and was on top of all our requests. He also decanted the wines we brought, and brought us fresh glasses for each wine. He also checked to make sure there were no spots on the wine glasses: The mark of a detailed waiter. We tipped him 20% on top of the taxed amount. Secondarily, the Manager, Vinny stopped by to say hello, and introduce himself. That was a nice touch. The only downside to the experience was at checkout. Corporate charges a $5.99 fee to pay via QR code. This is underhanded in my mind, and I refused to pay it. The Manager, Vinny stepped in and made it right by processing the payment the old fashioned way. The $5.99 fee should be eliminated bc most customers prolly don't notice it. This review pertains to happy hour. Came here with a guest and had a nice time while doing a little people watching as well. Surprisingly enough, things weren't busting at the seams for happy hour other than what appeared to be a few business groups that were either coming from or preparing to leave for LAX. While preparing to order we noticed a nice touch..... It appeared that the large groups that were preparing for travel or had just arrived had a fair share of luggage and baggage with them. The host didn't hesitate to inform them that there was a place the restaurant could keep their luggage and belongings to get them out of the way while they dined. Nice! But back to the food.... We both went ahead and ordered the smashburger, with cheese and it was cooked to order. We went ahead and grabbed two crab cakes at $30 bucks a pop (not from the happy hour menu needless to say) and they were delicious. Last last but not least, the CSA, or customer service All Star was Renato. A very attentive gent whose recommendations were spot on as well as the quality of his service. Out of everything we ordered, I felt that the salads were the standout. The table side Cesar salad is exceptionally good. It's so fresh and crunchy and the dressing is very tasty. I ordered the chop chop salad and LOVED it. It was delicious. I'd come back just because I crave the salads. The rest of the meal was solid, but kinda like any other steakhouse. Steak was good, and cooked perfectly but flavor didn't blow me away. The wagyu meatballs and spaghetti was just OK in my opinion. It wasn't a stand out but if you love spaghetti and meatballs I think you would like it. Wow!! I am blown away by the food and service at BOA. I booked a reservation to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and I am beyond happy with our experience. The establishment has plenty of cute spots to sit at, whether it is a booth or table setting. Our server was named Oscar and he was phenomenal! The salad also added a refreshing touch. Chipotle Lime Corn 4/5 yummy! The flavors balanced each other out Sea bass 4/5 very soft and buttery. Knocking off a point for the portion being small but it is still delicious Toffee Cake 5/5 WOW this was delicious. The cake was warm and soft. This place is so beautiful. My friend and I came during happy hour and we were not disappointed this was my first ever visit at BOA and I would completely 100/10 recommend. Our waiter was Kevin and his service was also 100/10 he was such a vibe, kind, helpful, cool and just made the experience so nice for us. I originally booked a reservation for dining at 4:15 but when I realized they had happy hour until 5pm I asked Kevin if we could move and he obliged with no issue moving us to the bar seating (Happy hour is not offered in the regular dining area). He recommended the wagyu skewered I believe they're called - BEST MEAT I've had ever ! He then recommended the Thai chicken - BOMB.. we also ordered the Philly and the wagyu smash burger and they were so delicious it's ridiculous. I would love to return again with Kevin as our server - I took off a star because although there were plenty of ladies working our area , at least 3, when he went on break he asked Kristen I believe that was her name, to check on us so he could go on break but no one checked on us for the duration of our meal. BOA usually has a "dress code" but being a Beach City location in the South Bay it's more relaxed for appropriate contemporary community standards of Manhattan Beach... so fret nor fear not! Call 'em if ever in doubt. BOA by nature is expensive in the realm of other steakhouses like Ruth Chris, Maestro's, Flemings, etc. where steaks run $50 on the very low end to an avg of $75-100 for a good cut and stated portions around that 6-12 oz realm without any sides, a la carte. It's a high end dining experience. It's also reliable quality. Expect to dine for about $75-100 per person at minimum, but be prepared to spend about $200-300 per person if you wanted appetizers, sides (sharable sizes) and desert... more if you drink alcohol. BOA is a trusted So Cal name in the LA area, as I've dined at various locations. It's known in our circle as the perfect restaurant for business meatings (meetings with quality steak) and eatings (they have seafood here too!). read more

We absolutely love it here. Happy hour is so much fun. Chaz provides the utmost ultimate great service. Francisco is a gem as well. Both are so amazing. Chaz never lets us down. He literally remembers our orders. He is attentive to everyone. Everyone loves him there. The Caesar salad is sooooo scrumptious. The deviled eggs are one of our go-tos aside from the Caesar Salad. And we have grown to love the cone caviar ....love at first bite. The restrooms are clean. The establishment is super clean. Staff is clean and well dressed and well presented. Everyone here always welcomes you with smiles and respect. It can get crowded within seconds of getting there and it stays crowded all night. Some nights are more busier than others. Great location. One of these days we will make it past the bar. We've made numerous reservation for the table and yet we love Chaz so we go where he is His service is impeccable. The Baseline: For a Steak House Fine Dining experience, the steak must be of high grade prepared to how I order it, the seasoning/flavors must make me salivate for the meat, there must be side dish offering that accompanies the meat, and the experience must make me feel like I am a part of a special experience that is an incredible steak dinner. Food: I had a 12oz New York Strip tonight, marinated skirt steak and frites, and the 15 day dry aged ribeye. The steak is so good at BOA and it will be prepared how you like it (medium rare for the strip). Get the Crispy Tallow fries for an appetizer and you will be happy. I also tried the crab cake and I think I will pass on that in the future (because i am a Maryland Bluecrab snob). The loaded baked potatoes side dish can be a meal unto itself and is awesome. For desert the chocolate mouse is the primo chocolate decadence that we all deserve in life. Service: Great service from a truly professional staff that took care of you as you would expect from a fine dining establishment such as BOA. Water glass was constantly filled up. The highlight of our dinner last night was the Caesar salad. Although we aren't usually big fans of salads, we were curious because it was being prepared at every table--probably part of their strategy! We never expected it to stick in our minds so much. I highly recommend it! Of course, the steaks were amazing too. We also ordered a dessert and mentioned that one of us was celebrating a birthday, so they brought out a special candle for the occasion. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor seating, especially since we have a baby. Their approach is quite different from other steakhouses, as everything is à la carte. This made it a bit challenging to decide what to order since I have my go-to choices at steakhouses, but everything turned out great. John was our server, he's nice and friendly! We really indulged! We wanted some fancy steak, and fast, and we were able to get last minute reservations for BOA Steakhouse in Manhattan beach. We came a little early before 5pm so we could get some happy hour at the bar before we sat for dinner. We had the happy hour half dozen oysters, the caviar cones, and the golden hour cocktail. The caviar cones were slightly warm with an interior like a creamy mashed potato with the dollop of caviar on top. We enjoyed our small bites and cocktail then were seated for dinner. The restaurant is very inviting with fire lights and greenery and very comfortable seats. For dinner we started with the table side caesar salad, side of creamed spinach, the center cut filet, peppercorn sauce and 12 oz New York strip. The caesar salad was crisp, flavorful, and came on chilled plates. The steaks were buttery and satisfying. We enjoyed our side of creamed spinach which had crispy onions on top as well. For dessert we had the ultimate chocolate lovers dream which was the Valrhona Chocolate. This over the top dessert featuring rich chocolate mousse, chantilly cream, chocolate meringue, then the waiter pours chocolate sauce all over it as it is served. We were so full and enjoyed our food and thought the restaurant was very beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant and would love to return. read more

Celebrated my birthday at BOA on a Wednesday evening with a group of 12, and as always the ambiance delivered. The room is beautiful -- upscale without feeling stiff -- and it carries that polished LA steakhouse energy that keeps us coming back. We frequent BOA regularly for happy hour, so this wasn't a first visit and expectations were grounded in past positive experiences. The evening started off smooth, but service pacing began to slip as the night went on. Our server didn't take drink orders right away, which threw off the initial rhythm of the table, and bottles of wine started arriving slowly instead of cohesively. The wines were half-price that night -- which was awesome -- and they definitely didn't last long once they hit the table. As the night progressed, the energy shifted and our server seemed increasingly flustered. There was a particularly awkward interaction involving Zack that left the whole table exchanging confused looks -- nothing dramatic, just unexpectedly sharp for what should've felt like a seamless celebration. After the fact, it became clear that Zack was juggling multiple tables, which honestly made the situation make more sense. It felt less like poor service from an individual and more like exhaustion and overextension. That said, from a guest perspective the experience is still the experience -- and staffing levels ultimately shape how a night unfolds. Food-wise, BOA was mostly solid with a few surprises compared to past visits. The mac and cheese balls were really good -- easily one of the highlights. My son ordered the Cajun sea bass and said it was fantastic, though the portion felt tiny for around $57 -- probably in that 4-5 ounce range. I went with the regular sea bass, which was decent, but like many places lately the price seems to keep rising while the portion quietly shrinks. I checked in with the table about appetizers, and the feedback was mixed this time. The cigar rolls -- kind of like an egg roll -- didn't land well with our group, and surprisingly the shrimp wasn't a hit either, which felt different from previous visits. I've personally stopped ordering steak at spots like this -- not because BOA can't cook one, but because my sous-vide setup at home has spoiled me a bit (no fault of theirs at all). That said, on a previous visit we tried the A5 wagyu sampler and honestly... that experience will ruin most steaks for you in the best way possible. I say this as someone who genuinely enjoys BOA and returns often: when a table is clearly there to celebrate and invest in the experience -- especially a large group -- the service energy should rise to meet that moment. I fully understand automatic gratuity for big parties, but nights like this highlight how important proper staffing and support are behind the scenes. Overall, the restaurant itself remains stunning, the vibe is still top tier, and we had a great time because BOA knows how to create a scene. I had to lower the rating because with a reservation we waited until 920 to be seated. We had reservations at 815. We arrived at 715 with the hopes of possibly getting seated early. They informed us that they had big reservations of 16 and 12 who have not arrived yet. So they were running behind. RED FLAG NUMBER 1. We decided to walk the mall instead and come back around 8. At 815 I walked back up letting the host know we have came back and wanted to check that we were still technically checked in from the 715 time we have arrived at. She assured us yes. Patiently waiting outside, I walked back in at 830, because I noticed someone say they have been waiting over an hour. I asked the host how many ppl were ahead of us that have reservations that have not been seated. She informed me that there was only 1 other party of 2. At this point, me and my fiancé decided to wait in the bar area because our time was approaching. To my surprise I noticed that 2 other parties of 2 got seated before us. But still waiting patiently but getting a little upset. That 2 parties turned to 5 parties of 2. We finally asked for a manager. The manager said that they were behind because of the large parties. I kindly said yes, but you're missing the point. The host informed us that we were the next party to be seated but 5 other parties of 2 went ahead of us. He disregarded what I said and said "they probably had a reservation before yours" and I said BUT THE HOST SAID WERE SECOND ON THE LIST AT 830, it's now 850. He disregarded us and walked away and said he will check on it, but didn't. Again, 2 more parties walked in and were seated. Totaling 7 parties , but "we were next" . I went up to the host to ask for clarification. She got the manager and they finally sat us at 920. They comp us our drink and appetizer but the principal point was we had a reservation and sat way past our reservation time. If they had large parties that didn't show up, there should be a grace period. This was me and my fiancé last date night before getting married and we drove over an hour to try a new steakhouse. It was very disappointing about the wait especially since checking in at 715. Now onto the food: Let me start by saying I am a steak lover ! And steakhouses are our thing. We ordered the Australian wagyu- medium. TBH it tasted like outback. It had a char flavor. I will rate it 5/10. We had this same type of steak at Barry's steakhouse in Vegas, so we compared it to that. For the side we got the lobster Mac and cheese. 13/10 Our waiter was nice, but it also took us over 30 minuets for our dish to come out. We got our bread roll appetizer within 15 minuets. I'm writing this as someone who genuinely loves BOA Steakhouse and has been here multiple times with consistently top-notch service. This experience, however, was a 50/50. We came in to celebrate my cousin's birthday, party of about 12. The vibes at the table were great, and as always, the atmosphere at BOA was on point. We started with appetizers for the table: Caesar salads, wagyu beef cigars, shrimp scampi, and bread. Everything was solid, though we probably could've skipped the cigars. The food overall was scrumptious as expected. Steaks cooked perfectly medium(although it did not come sliced as we requested - more on that below), potatoes whipped and decadent, wine flowing. The birthday cookie at the end was also delicious. Now, onto the issue: our waiter, Zack. I'm not sure if he was having a bad day, but the attitude was noticeable from early on. When someone ordered a bottle of wine, I began to mention I'd also like to order one while reaching for the wine list. He walked away mid-sentence. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he didn't hear me. He did let us know bottles were half off for Wine Wednesday, which we appreciated. When I later ordered my bottle using the wine number listed, he responded in a condescending tone, "Are you sure that's the one? That's not Merlot, it's Malbec." Turns out two wines shared the same number on the menu. Their mistake. But the delivery made me feel like I didn't know what I was ordering, and that wasn't necessary. When it was time to order entrees, one guest at our table chose not to eat for personal reasons. Zack responded with, "So, you're not gonna eat?" It came off as rude and unnecessary. Later, another guest asked a simple clarification about a cocktail. As he walked away, he said, "Shaken? Whatever." At that point, we were so surprised by the consistent tone that we just laughed it off. It was genuinely unbelievable. To add to it, one guest ordered a double Clase Azul at the bar, and the bartender asked if she was okay with the price. That's not standard practice at a place like BOA and felt unprofessional. The food? Great as always. Wine Wednesday? Still a great deal. The birthday celebration itself? Memorable for the right reasons because of our group. But the service was the downfall, and I've never experienced this type of treatment at any BOA location before. I'll absolutely return because I know the standard this place can meet. But based on this visit, the Wednesday night crew missed the mark. read more

My friend and I stopped by for a happy hour while out running errands, and I'm so glad we did. The ambiance is modern chic with beautiful greenery -- very upscale without feeling stuffy. We were greeted right away and quickly seated at a table by the bar of our choice. For drinks, we ordered The Clean and The Tropical. Both were refreshing, light, and easy to sip... but don't be fooled -- they'll sneak up on you lol. For happy hour bites, we tried the Wagyu skewers, Caesar salad, and the Wagyu burger with truffle fries. Now listen... The Wagyu burger is hands down one of the best burgers I've had in my life. Juicy, flavorful, perfectly cooked -- 20/10, highly recommend. I added grilled onions and that is an absolute MUST. The truffle fries were perfectly fried, and the Caesar salad was delicious.(so mad I didn't get a picture, but omgeee the best ever) The Wagyu skewers weren't my personal favorite because they were a bit fatty (just a preference thing), but the flavor was still great. I did enjoy trying them with the different salts -- especially the black salt and the other two varieties offered. Overall, I'll definitely be back. the goat cheese baklava & the steak tartare are a MUST. My goodness. The ambiance is sexy & sophisticated, the staff SO hospitable. Service was immaculate tbh. Attentive and timely. The porterhouse is incredible. Only things i wouldn't repeat on the menu are the burrata and the bone marrow. The welcome drink was delicious would do the baked potato again just without the caviar. Went here on Saturday 1/26/26 to celebrate a birthday. 14 people! You can't pay separately. Ok we had the skirt steak w/ fries. 10/10 cooked perfectly medium rare rare.Yummy! Husband had halibut 7/10 ( good but really small portion) order side of spinach yummy 10/10 shared bread rolls 10/10 good and warm. Drinks: old fashion w/extra oranges 10/10, fire smoke bourbon 8/10 (looked pretty, tasted ok) heard the sidecar was just so so.The restaurant is nice. The wait staff is OUTSTANDING! Excellent experience after a comedy of errors this evening! We had a table at the West Hollywood location, but realized it en route to Manhattan Beach. Jessica saved the day with our reservation! Excellent service. Celena took such great care of us. Made helpful suggestions and was attentive. Food prepared to perfection. The ambiance was just perfect.
