I would describe this place as like the Great Value brand of Rudy's. Yummy barbecue and southern vibe to it. The macaroni salad and potato salad is AWESOME. The best I've had in the north Valley. Portions are filling and there are like six different choices of barbecue sauce, all deliciois. This is a fun place to stop with family and friends. Brisket and shredded pork is juicy and full of flavor, I recommend it! read more

We've gotten catering from this location a few times now and it is always spectacular. Delivery is easy, they are always nice and help to set-up and the whole experience from top to bottom is painless and delicious. The beef brisket is the best I've eaten and the mac and cheese is a revelation. read more

Excellent pulled pork! And the sauce was wonderful. Really yummy waffle fries. Other than needing more seating ( which I understand they are fixing by expansion) this was a go back to place. Unfortunately we were just visiting from South Florida, too far for takeout! read more

Pulled pork was moist, sauce choices were nice, staff very friendly, but too bad they're Cornhusker fans. :-) This place is getting busy and time to find a larger location but the small, quaint ambience gives it that small town local barbecue place feel. Better than Dillon's. Cole slaw was crunchy and not runny. Potato salad is perfect. I don't like macaroni salad and theirs was good. Ribs were fall off the bone. Just a really good place. read more

The wife and I decided to give this place a try since I'm a sucker for pulled pork and we've been looking to try new places closer to our side of town. First off, this place is not the easiest to find. I drove past it the first time since they're sort of in the middle of the business park they occupy and they don't have a sign that you can see until you're just about past the entrance. I guess I can't blame them for that, but it was somewhat annoying. As far as the food, however, I am impressed. Having set foot inside the place, my first impression was that it was very low-key, bare-bones, no-frills and such. I don't mind that, but sometimes it gives me hesitation about the food. Nevertheless, I was impressed by the pulled pork and so was my wife. It comes dry and you get your own pick of the sauce (they have several varieties) and can apply as much as you see fit. I really like that, because most places don't give you a say at all and the BBQ sauce is what makes the pulled pork sandwich. The waffle fries were really, really good as was the pasta salad side order I had. I didn't care too much for the baked beans, but I wouldn't dare detract from the rating over that, since the pulled pork sandwich itself was the main draw and did not disappoint me in any way, shape or form. Overall I was really impressed by this place, as the small 'hole in the wall' style places generally are more fun to eat at. I definitely love the food and the location (now that I can find it!) and was really happy to finally try a place that exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be back in the near future and highly recommend this place. read more

First time here, stopped because of the reviews, and because I saw DDD was here. Some of the best BBQ ribs I have ever had! The ribs were perfectly smoky, with a little brown sugar and a spicy kick. I really appreciated that the ribs were cooked well, had a nice crust, and were beautifully juicy inside. One of the nice young ladies who works there brought us some excellent cornbread muffins to accompany our ribs, very nice of her! I would definitely recommend, and I plan to be back- worth the 2 hour drive from tucson! read more

best barbecue is Arizona. I dare you to try and finish the mixed grill burrito. My one gripe is that it's set up like an every day lunch place, but $15 is to spendy for me to do too often Editing this review because of a bad experience I had when placing a large order for a work function. I called an hour in advance, and they told me it would be ready in45 minutes. When I got there 15 minutes after the time they said, the it wasn't even started. I couldn't wait, so they lost a two hundred dollar order. Very frustrating experience, and it makes me think they aren't ready to take the next step building the business. read more

Stopped in on the way home to pick-up some BBQ to go. I can't comment on the dinning service or dinning area, the take out area is separate. The pulled pork was amazing! So tender and juicy. Just the right amount of flavor, and you can pick your own BBQ sauce. The rack of ribs were melt in your mouth good! The meat was falling off the bone, so delicious. I wish we lived closer, this would be a weekly stop. read more

The brisket was worth the trip! It was flavorful and had a nice smoke ring to it. There was not much fat on it, and they were nice thick cuts. The pork was very moist, but I just wasn't tasting all the flavor I was expecting. The restaurant itself was low key, but I really liked the seating area in the back. It is set up in a garage area, and is just something different. Their barbeque sauce selection has everything you could want. I found that a mixture of the sweet with the smokey was the flavor for me. The only thing I would have liked would have been to order a quarter pound of one of the meats instead of having to get a half or whole pound. I was hoping to try a couple of different things but I didn't want to have to order another half pound of meet. Overall I it was good and I will be going back there at some point. read more

My rating is based off the food and service inside the building. If we could rate based off of parking and accessibility to the building the overall rating would be lower. However, those are issues that are not directly related to this restaurant so I will only focus on the food and service. I didn't know this place was featured on the Official Best BBQ of Arizona shown on the Discovery Channel. I just found it via Bing Maps because my belly was hungry! :) The food was awesome. I ordered the Smokin Sampler with all 4 meats. Because I love meat and I can. :) I used the Crazy J's sauce with was very spicy and great taste. Everything was great, the polish sausage, the pulled pork, the chicken, and the brisket. Now, I will not be going back soon, not because of the food but because of the parking. This is something out of their control. There is always catering. :) They are in an industrial park type of complex. The parking spots are small for normal sized cars but trying to park my normal sized F-150 was not easy. When I came out, the person next to me wasn't as careful getting in as I was getting out. I left with great food and a good ding on the side of my truck right in the sport where their driver side door would of hit. The line inside was long but moved fast. The ladies that worked the front line all friendly and did a great job. read more

The overall meal was great. I had the sampler. The chicken and pork were very good. The brisket dried out before I got it. This is too bad because they do a nice with it. My first time at any Pork On A Fork. Bbq was really good thank you for creating and sharing your food with us here in Phoenix. That's the 3 stars. I am a professional cook and I appreciate good food. Why am I made to feel like I have to tip? Four big boxes, easy for my convenience to add on to my bill. One minuscule box that says no tip. T: To I: Insure P: Proper S: Service What service are they providing? They cut my meat put it on a tray and handed it to me. I got my own drink, I got my own plastic ware, I got my own napkins and I found my own seat. So why am I made to feel like I have to tip? Next time I am sure I will be able to get past the guilt of not tipping. Because tipping is just for cows when there are no services being provided. Also please inform the cashier in the purple hipster beanie that the whole US has moved past the ecoli out break weeks ago. He was very rude to a call in customer when they wanted to order a side salad. His response to the caller was that "no one in the entire country is selling salads because of the ecoli outbreak." He made it sound like the caller was an idiot for not knowing this. He was very rude when he had to repeat this answer to the caller twice. I am sure that's why the caller hung up on him. The ecoli outbreak only effected Romain lettuce not every kind of lettuce known to man. read more

Let me start off by saying, please dont go here when you're starving because the smell when you walk into order will cause you to order everything on the menu. I ordered the deluxe bbq sampler with sausage sub'd for the chicken. I chose the coleslaw, mac and cheese, and an added cornbread muffin for my sides. All of the sides looked very good and this was a hard choice to make. Driving home was torture and it took all of will power to not dive into it one-handed and cause a wreck on the 17. The pulled pork was great! Very moist and flavorful. The sausage was a letdown as it wasn't spicy at all and tasted like a plain johnsonville sausage. The brisket was moist and very smokey. In fact the smoke flavor was all I could taste. As for the sides, the cornbread was by far the best of the 3 I bought. It was sweet and light. A bit crumbly but in a good way. I loved this muffin. I'm not ashamed to say that I scraped the wrapper to get every bit of it that I could. The coleslaw really lets the cabbage be in the spotlight. The sauce is slightly sweet and is inly barely coated on the cabbage. It disappointed me at first but was actually a nice break from the otherwise heavy meal. The mac and cheese was also good. Very cheesy with the main cheese being cheddar. They add a spice mix to the top that added a smokey/salty touch. I'd probably eat here again as there aren't very many bbq places to choose from in the north valley. The pulled pork will probably be my go to. I wonder if they'll serve it to me on cornbread muffins???? read more

My first time here. Got yelled at by the girl making a burrito. All I asked was if I placed my order with her or the next girl, since I had never been here before. Order the pulled pork. Good enough tasting with help of the sweet & mild bbq sauce, but almost cold. Mac n cheese was meh. Little flavor. The cornbread muffin was hard as a rock. I think I'll stick to Dickies. read more

It definitely lived up to the expectations of being a upper echelon BBQ joint. I ordered the BBQ Pork plate with waffle fries and beans and was not disappointed. I actually forgot to pour their BBQ sauce on the pork until i was almost halfway through with the meal. It was that tasty, I would say if your in that neck of the woods, POAF is the place to go. The service was very prompt and I even used a Yelp deal to score a free 24 oz drink. Overall, they get my highest recommendation. BBQ pork, beans, waffle fries and an Arnold Palmer... doesn't get much better then that! read more

This place use to be so good and we will order at least once a week but the last month or so it's gone straight to the dump! The girl that answers the phone could care less and then when you aske her a question she rolls her eyes and lies right to you! They use to have the best food but like most places once they start cutting corners and hiring bad staff it goes down hill immediately! And good luck having them answer the phone! Super quick and tasty! Service was fast, my food got delivered a lot quicker than what I was expecting.

This barbecue was fantastic. From the time Dean emailed to say he was on his way until he arrived, set up, and left I was impressed. The food was delicious. I would recommend and use Pork on a Fork again in a heartbeat. Thanks for helping me have a great party! read more

Best takeout !!! I'm always so amazed at how nice the staff is and how good they do takeout. We ordered curbside today for our family, a large order once we we got there we called let them know we arrived and 5 minutes later we were told the we're waiting for our corn bread to come out of the oven it would only be a few more minutes. When the man came back out he had our order in a large box he was very pleasant. We got home and they included a few extra things and the food was so well liked and complimented by the family. The whole experience was such a good one. We've supported them since we found them but they just get better and better. read more

So a cafeteria style bbq place where you place your order on one side & pay at the other. Had the baby back ribs and pulled pork. Both were very tender & the meat almost fell off the ribs without trying. Side salad was basic w/ dressing in small plastic container. Baked berms were average. Lots of black pepper to try and develop flavor. Coleslaw was okay too w/ little dressing to hold together. The meat is what shines. Was hoping for traditional corn on the cob too but that is not offered. I'd go back but just for the meat. I'd get my sides elsewhere & take out. read more

I went for my first time today. I loved it a bit of a wait, and in fact while I was in line the line tripped out the door, very popular place! I got the pulled pork with a side of Mac & Cheese and Baked Beans. It's an assembly line kind of set up. I got the food to go so can't comment on the atmosphere. The pork was good, a little dry but good portion amount. I've had BBQ at Dickey's and it's been super fatty- this was not the case at all at Pork on a Fork. The mac & cheese reminds me of Picaddillys if any of you are from the south. The backed beans were really good, and I'm not even a baked beans kind of gal! I used the sweet tangy bbq sauce and really liked it- very tangy and they gave me tons of sauce cups full of it to go! It was good! read more

This is the best BBQ! The atmosphere is laid-back and comfortable. Awesome lunch spot!

Pretty good BBQ, you'd never know where it was unless you knew beforehand. Had brisket plate, parts of brisket very tender parts a little dry. Mac and cheese was ok, potato salad was actually my favorite side. Baby back ribs (got 2 add on) were tasty.
