I am new to the deer valley airport area and have been disappointed in the quality of food in the area. I have been randomly trying every spot in the area and stumbled across Pork on a fork driving by and glad I made the u turn to stop and try it. Great high quality BBQ place with nice selection of meats and different ways to have it served. I went with a medium chicken sandwich with corn bread and mashed potatoes side. I was very pleasantly surprised by this gem sitting in the middle of an industrial park and east to miss. I will be coming back for sure. read more

I don't understand the hype of this place. I was excited to try this restaurant because it seemed like a good bbq place to try based on the reviews. We came here a little less than an hour before they closed, and they had run out of a lot of side options, which I understand and that's fine, but the food and sides we did order and try were cold, dry, or simply did not taste good. We ended up not finishing our food and went to a different restaurant. read more

We stopped for takeout on a weekday at 4:00. Not busy and great friendly service. We both had 1/2 pork sandwich, Arizona style with topping of green Chiles and a bbq sourcream sauce, and 2 sides. First of all, the bun. Dry, plain, and as standard (cheap) as you can get. I expected better for a $15 meal. Too small for the size needed for a 1/2 pound of meat. The meat itself moist, juicy but no taste on its own. Not seasoned whatsoever prior to smoking it?? The taste of what you eat is from all the toppings/sauces, not the meat itself. Sides of bbq beans were runny, more mashed than whole beans. The Mac n cheese was dry. No cheesey sauce consistency, must have been all absorbed into the pasta if any to begin with. Disappointed for the entire meal. Possibly bun and side dishes were this way because from lunch time of day but would not order again. Staff was pleasant and quick. read more

Country vibe (country music playing in seating area with huge American flag) makes a great ambiance to enjoy the bbq. The brisket is absolutely fantastic. Paired with the macaroni and corn in a burrito is an amazing experience for the taste buds. The kids at the counter are friendly and walk you through the stations. Great lunch spot! read more

If you've never been to Pork on the Fork, where have you been??? Some of the best BBQ you will have!! We have picked up food from their food truck and we have visited the location in North Phoenix. The meats are full of flavor, never dry and always a generous portion. We have tried several sides but our favorite is the Mac n cheese and the fries. Oh and the staff... amazing! Always friendly and very helpful when we can't decide what we want. The location in North Phoenix is always clean and has plenty of seating. Overall a must try!! read more

The food, a pork and a fork really hits the spot when you're looking for an easy barbecue local restaurant. I typically order the hot sausage, brisket, potato salad, and coleslaw. We use the Xpress location in Deer Valley, and the service is always quick and efficient with a smile. read more

Update 2-22-20 We visited again! It's so delicious! We had the opportunity to try the Mac and cheese this time and it was like homemade!! I'm fond of the Deluxe and this time my husband tried the Pork Sandwich! We both really love the flavor of their BBQ!! Our first visit and all I can say is WOW!!! Fantastic smoked meats that melt in your mouth, and the BBQ sauces are yummy depending on your personal taste!! We each had the deluxe with three meat options and two sides! We both opted for bbq beans, and potatoes! The beans were super tasty and waffle fries savory and hot! Our order was pick up and it was a bit busy when we came in. Mike one of the friendly service crew offered us a beverage while we waited a bit for our order!! Thank you for that nice customer service! It was definitely worth the short wait for such flavorful melt in your mouth deliciousness!! We will definitely be back for your excellent bbq and see read more

Was driving back to California from a camping trip and wanted some good ol' bbq. Found this place on yelp with an empty stomach and a craving for some ribs. When we ordered, the ladies at the front were super helpful. My boyfriend and I ordered the ribs and had sides of mac and cheese and beans. We killed the ribs as fast as it came out and then filled up on the sides. Great bbq sauce that elevated the meal. I wouldn't say I would drive back to AZ for this place, but the next time I'm in AZ I know where I'll get my bbq fill. Great service, great ribs, large dining space for me to devour my meal, what else could I ask for? read more

Awesome bbq and sides and sauces. We liked everything so much and have been back several times. We normally take out any they always have gotten it right. The fries are awesome and so is the brisket!! read more

AZ's BEST BBQ!?!? If you are a fan of Little Miss BBQ, then you might be a slightly bigger fan of Pork On A Fork. Side by side picking the better meats it hard but when weighing in the sides and style options, Pork On A Fork might have the upper hand. Every time I have gone it has been a fast experience- in and out in five minutes. The staff has been very friendly and helpful making recommendations. One of my favorites was trying the gravy on the herb rice. I have tried the brisket, pulled chicken and pork. I was impressed by all of them. For the sides I have tried the (favorites in order) herb rice, cornbread, coleslaw, baked beans, side salad and potato salad. All are pretty tasty. Then for the sauces the mustard based is my favorite followed by smokey tangy, sweet and spicy. The spicy to me is not spicy at all. It is hard to say who has the best bbq in the valley but I think this place pulled it off. When considering the speed, service and food, Pork on a Fork is the best in AZ. I have been here three times within two weeks and plan on coming back often. Great job!! Overall, you have to try this place out for BBQ in AZ. read more

Well god damn that Midwest monster was on point! Ladies and gentlemen if you go get that with some fries and Mac and cheese you won't be mad except for only getting one. Spot on boys will be returning for round 2 read more

I mean... delicious Customer service was perfect. They patiently answered all our questions. They were busy with take out orders. Still, they got our order out nearly immediately. Location set up is great. Walking in you can see the prep and order. Through a short hall is the cutest dining area. Super clean and tidy. The food was exceptional. We ordered the Big Boy and shared it between two ppl. The meats were tender and savory. The mac and cheese was creamy. The coleslaw was a little too peppery for my liking and the bbq sauces were lacking in heat. Overall a great stop for good flavor and quality food. read more

The food was excellent. I had the bbq pulled pork sandwich. Fries and beans. Top 10 bbq, and we are southern.

Great food and staff! Relaxed and real atmosphere. Southern feel. Great Cole slaw and mac and cheese for us vegetarians.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm a die hard KC BBQ fan and the brisket and pulled pork are comparable. Friendly service. Forgot a couple condiments, but we had substitutes at home. Will be back read more

Great food! Wonderful service. They will explain anything you ask. Sauces are amazing. Cute place.

Amazing food and great service!! The chicken is delicious, reminded me of Thanksgiving. Definitely going back for more!!

Great food, even better service. You might have to wait a little bit to get your food depending on how busy it gets, just like any other restaurant. Some people don't understand that. Not overpriced. read more

Getting ready to gord!! More to come! Was place is delicious!! I tried the brisket in a basket, so good!

Stayed in the area , found this location on yelp. Was hungry for bbq and saw it was #1 in the area. We ordered a good variety ( ribs , pulled pork and brisket) all were on the dry side but still edible slathered.with bbq sauce. The pig tail fry things were different, crispy and good, the rest of the sides were lacking. Overall average , did not meet the expectations I had. I would not seek it out but if I was nearby and in the mood for bbq, sure. 3/5 read more

The taste and portions were both very good. One pulled pork sandwich had a little too much fat on It though. It is a place to get food to go as the table seating is nothing to rave about and the place needs a good cleaning and an up date. I might consider them for catering my next event as good Bar B Q is hard to find and I saw several trucks. read more

Me and my roommate went here tonight and loved it!! The food is so yummy and the service was amazing!

I've been here several times and have used them to cater family events. Flavors are always good. On my most recent visit, I tried their seasonal brisket chili. As expected it was good but I was disappointed in their packaging. The description on their online ordering system says it comes with toppings and 2 cornbread muffins. I received neither so I had to add my own toppings and shell out an additional $3.26 for 2 two pieces of cornbread. At just under $24 I won't be ordering this again. Two medium size bowls and a couple of bites of bread don't make it a good value. They should also update their ordering website to set clear expectations. Staff is always friendly and helpful. If you are doing takeout, save yourself a lot of time and order online; then just head to the register. read more

Well folks, it says it on the sign but I can't imagine any better BBQ in Phoenix than Pork on a Fork. A bunch of people get one or two elements of Q right but this was the full Monty. Brisket A+, pulled pork A++ (this was perfect, superb) chicken A+. Potato salad and slaw both top notch too. Sauces were damn tasty although to be honest...I used very little, it simply didn't need it. My one regret, I didn't try the ribs. There is always next and believe me, there will be a next time. read more

I visited Pork on a Fork as I always do when in Phoenix and found it to be once again one of the best bbq places to visit when I travel. The pulled pork was juicy with the right amount of smoke. Pork On A Fork - After eating their food I was buff! - Barbeque Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

We were craving bbq and i wanted to try some place we have never went to. Usually we just go to Bobby-Q. So Pork on a Fork is definitely a hidden gem is you want some bbq that isn't fine dining . It's a hole in the wall spot that seems to be mixed in with some industrial buildings. You will pass this place if you don't look for the sign that says "bbq". Now what can I say about this bbq spot. It kind of reminds me of Dickey's bbq but not fast food tasting. Only bc it's a walk up order they put it on a plate for you. This place is actually delicious. The meat super fresh you can tell they take their time with seasoning and cooking. The sides are pretty tasty full of flavor not greasy at all. Super yummy bbq we will totally be back for some more!! read more

Got my BBQ fix yesterday by stopping in at the store. Bought a full rack of the ribs, a pound of the pulled pork and six of the links. A couple of sides were included so I got the cornbread and the sweet potato fries. I had been a fan of when they had the 20 St. and Camelback location open, and this is the first time I have visited the Deer Valley location. All of it was very good albeit the ribs were just a tiny bit too dry. I like them a bit on the moister side. Of course, the pulled pork and the links were delish, especially with the BBQ sauce, which I got the "hot." They gave me plenty of the fries and the cornbread wasn't bad, but next time I'm getting the mac and cheese as the side. read more

This place is one of those "hole-in-the-wall" joints that you shouldn't miss. We had a variety of offerings and none of the selections disappointed. The Coleslaw was as good as I have ever had and the cornbread was top shelf as well. If your looking for good BBQ, look no further, you won't be disappointed. read more

Amazing pulled pork and super popular with locals in Arizona. Highly recommend! Bbq sauce is unreal.

A long time ago, this restaurant was great. Then the food quality slid substantially and after a few bad meals we stopped coming here. We haven't been to pork on a fork in about 4 years and today we decided to give it another try: IT WAS EXCELLENT. The meat was flavorful and tender, the portions are generous, the prices are reasonable and I'm glad to see this place absolutely crushing the bbq game in north Phoenix. We had a bowl and a bbq burrito. Both were great. Welcome back to our restaurant rotation list! read more

This place is great and I say its a must try. While nothing was spectacular, everything was good, aside from the brownie which was terrible. But its a BBQ place so that's okay. Between my partner and I we had a little bit of everything. All the protein was great and paired well with all the sauces they offer at the table. The sides were great too! I'd go back just for some potato salad. I liked the environment and the staff were all friendly as well! read more

Pork On A Fork - Barbeque Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Enjoyed Pork on a Fork with my wife over the weekend. Interesting location being it is in industrial area but must say, I really loved the seating. Upon entering, you place your order in an assembly line fashion. You get your grub (or they bring if something is delayed) and had to down a side walkway to the massively large dining area in the back. As the pictures show, the large dining area is full of picnic like tables with a few televisions. A great area for a large party. As for the food, today I rolled with the sample platter of chicken, pork, and brisket. All were good and the available sauces were also tasty. My wife and I loved the macaroni and cheese and sweet potato fries. The pasta salad was different but good different and the cornbread was just okay in my book. Overall, we enjoyed our time and meal and would visit again if in the area. On a side note, beverage brand was RC. I highly prefer Coke when knocking out BBQ but that's just me. Will bring my own next time. Lol :) read more

Very friendly staff! Very good mashed potatoes and gravy. Delicious ribs. B.B.Q sauce was nice, both the sweet and mustard. Mac and cheese didn't have much flavor and the brisket was very dry. read more

I've given Pork in a Fork multiple opportunities over the years and once I'm there eating I get reminded why I usually go to places like Naked Q and Little Miss BBQ. POAF's meat is dry and that's final. I've had brisket every time I've gone and every time I'm disappointed with dry brisket, regardless of whether I ask for fatty brisket or not. I've eaten brisket all across the country and at more than 10 different places in Texas, so I know what good brisket is, and this is just not it. At this point I'll never return. read more

This is a hidden jewel!! Great staff and chef. The pork is so tender it melts in your mouth. I lived in Arkansas and didn't that Arizona could possibly compete with what I'm accustomed to, but this place is waaaay better. Delicious. Tasty. Juicy and tender! Sauces were great too. I had mac and cheese and bbq baked beans. I can't wait to go back again!!! read more

Delicious food and good service. The pulled pork was great and my Gpa loved his ribs. The mac and cheese was great, and the beans were just good. I will go back for sure. read more

Meat was dry and cornbread was cold and dry as well. Maybe because it was Sunday at 1:00pm. I had a few bites and just watched tv in the back seating area. Took all the food home and heated things up and put sauce on it from home. Wasn't impressed considering what I had paid. The first time I went there, everything was great. Not the second time. read more

Let's make this easy... You can either read my review or just go ahead and drive there, or call there and place your order. In the meantime, while you're waiting for it, let me tell you how absolutely delicious Pork on a Fork is. I decided to sample a whole bunch of different things. So, I got a combination platter with brisket, pork, and chicken. I normally don't eat red meat, but when you were faced with the possibility of the best, you give it a try. And I was not disappointed. The meats were all moist and delicious. The barbecue sauces were all really really good and complemented the meats. And then there were the sides. I'll absolutely love love loved the sides. I got a little bit of everything: creamy mac & cheese, classic homemade coleslaw, to die for potato salad, mashed potatoes with the most delicious gravy, and green beans that are soft and salty.... in the best way. I attached a sampler plate I made myself. All was yummy and there is food for days! Woohoo! But I didn't just love the food. Every single person when I went in there to pick up my order was so friendly and helpful and caring. That really does make a difference. In this time when we truly need to support local businesses as much as possible, this is one that will not disappoint! I heard a rumor that they're doing smoked turkey for Thanksgiving. Maybe it's time to let somebody else do the cooking! :-) read more
