I see why this place has low score. I get and I should have listened go the reviews. The drive thru window was not paying attention. Had to flag him for a while because my order was missing an item. He was busy with his phone while I was waiting in the drive thru to let him know I'm missing an item. Chicken was too salty. Today for lunch I was in a mood for a salad I've seen a couple a coworker buy this salad in the past so I decided to download the pollo tropical app and place an order for this salad for pickup why for pickup it's in a real heavy traffic spot especially at lunch time the drive thru lines are long parking is difficult to find and you will find a line inside so placing the order on the app made it a lot more smoother for me So i arrive give my name it was not ready but the girl immediately made it on the spot! I was in and out rather quickly I recommend if you work near this area download the app and pickup because if you know this area the traffic is horrible The salad is phenomenal full of color and flavor which I love in salads the chipotle dressing is amazing!!! Your kind words don't fix your problem, the person cutting the chicken is the problem, he/she should be removed immediately so this doesn't happen again. I've seen how it's done, if I order 1/2 chicken, instead of cutting it for the order, they have pieces already cut and serve whatever they want but not exactly what you ordered. The service at this particular location was horrible! My families order should have included beans and rice, yet they were out. How can you be out of a item that is a staple of every meal you offer. The bowls are built on beans and rice. If you can't offer the basics on your menu the rest of the food you provide should be outstanding and memorable. The Mojo pork was mediocre at best. Inside the restaurant was not clean. The staff was not friendly and service took far too long to get out food out in a timely manner. I advise against this particular location. The food tasted good, temperature, flavor and freshness but I notice there are a lot changes. There is not a table with sauces anymore. The cashier doesn't offer sauces and there wasn't any ketchup available for the fries. We dine in the restaurant. The tray were our food was served had no paper linen. As the for the fries they weren't good at all. I believe the oil was pretty old. (Over fried or maybe frozen) The lemonades were sour and they had no sugar. I changed my beverage with a sprite, i however was surprised with the person who assisted me, she was very nice and courteous. She agreed to change my beverage, I asked for a tea... but there was no tea either so I went for a sprite and for my surprise the soda had no syrup. It was plain soda water with cO2. I had a great experience at Pollo Tropical in MIA next to Aloft hotel. You literally walk less than 3min for quick fast grub! They were very busy the night we went, so I packed my patience... Once the cashier took my order, I waited maybe 5min tops. A lot of fast food chains have terrible customer service, so I was actually surprised. Plenty of seating and parking, and it was clean. The food was all warm and tasty. The chicken was a bit over cooked, but I didn't have to return it. My brown rice, mac N cheese and black beans were seasoned well. The serving size was good for the price I paid. I believe they had a special for $5.99. It was well worth the wait, I didn't feel like going to a restaurant and wait on a Friday night in MIA. After a really long travel day I arrived at the Aloft Hotel hungry and was happy to see Pollo Tropical was still open. So I didn't have to eat a fast food burger at midnight. I ordered the tropical trio after looking at the menu for more than 10 minutes trying to make a decision but didn't realize a drink wasn't included in the combo until after placing the order. Thankfully Mia was the employee that took my order and must have seen the exhaustion on my face. She was patient with how long it took to make a decision and included extra sauces in the bag. I enjoyed the rice, steak and pork. The only negatives were the chicken...so dry to the point it was inedible and I didn't get chimichurri sauce on my steak as pictured on the menu. My only recommendation is to maybe allow optional sides other than rice and beans with that meal. My family and I were coming from a 4.5 hr drive, therefore I placed an online order to pick up curb side. When we got there we realized there was no section for curbside pickup so we went inside to ask. They were supposed to have the food ready by 6:45pm, yet they gave it to us at 7:05pm. Let me start this off with the fact that I stayed at the Aloft Airport Hotel right beside this Pollo Tropical location this summer for 4 days in Miami. I was very intrigued in trying this place out since I've seen many locations around the city. My friends and I decided to order from here between the hours of 8-10 PM on a Monday night. We ordered online since we knew that the location has not opened up their dining area. After ordering we decide to walk down and pick it up by drive thru ourselves with no car. Like I had mentioned before, we were staying at the hotel right beside the restaurant. When we get there we ask through the drive thru window for our order and took it back to our room. Starving and ready to eat, we noticed that our whole order was wrong. We got sides and platters we never included and even missed other things we actually paid for. We go back to ask for the mistakes to be corrected and get what we actually ordered. To our surprise there is a long line of cars waiting at the drive thru. We knew they were open because online said their closing hours were 10 PM. So we decide to go around and figure out what was going on at the window. We noticed NO ONE In the kitchen area. We thought maybe they were closed? But no, it was still early and the lights were on. Eventually, one of the customers waiting in the car at the drive thru got off to check as well if anyone was there since they weren't being helped at the drive thru speaker either. My friend and I start to knock MULTIPLE times until we FINALLY got someone to help. By this time it was late for the other customers because literally every single car decided to leave. In our case we weren't going to do that since we had paid almost $50 for our food. We asked for our order to be corrected and sadly we didn't exactly get everything we wanted since they ran out of things. They still took about 20 min to fix our order while more cars were passing us and asking if they were open. We literally told them we didn't even know because they barely helped us or other cars that had just left. Finally, we got "some" of our stuff corrected and the rest we were just going to eat what we had. Overall, it was a bad experience. Really bad customer service. Maybe in the end it wasn't their fault, maybe the site has not updated the hours.. not sure but it was horrible. The food was quite appetizing but I was so hungry that I was going to eat anything at that point. I definitely recommend for this location to be managed better.
