Food is average. Prices are little higher for the quality you are getting. Service is lacking. Tried to order a 1/2 chicken all dark meat but was told that was not possible. It would be a mix of white and dark meat. So I ordered two dark meat 1/4 (more $) was told this was not possible. Which makes no sense since it is two separate dishes. Explained to the lady in charge that what she was saying regarding the 1/4 orders made no sense. She finally agreed after talking with the cook (I didn't understand that either), she explained that my order of two 1/4 darks would limit their dark meat. So if I understand correctly.....another customer who comes after me would be able to order the dark and limit their inventory....but I can't. Beyond annoyed. I should have just canceled my order. Well, been wanting to try this restaurant since they opened, about a year and a half ago. The service was horrific. Restaurant was not particularly busy, however no one greeted us. In fact they avoided eye contact. I felt as though I was the working being forded to create a welcoming environment as I was with my uncle and he wanted to leave and try somewhere else. We sat down and ordered. Food came out in a decent time. Our whole snapper was cooked beautifully and the accompaniments were acceptable. The beef was over cooked, rubbery. The rice was cold, clearly was sitting on the plate while the beef was being overcooked. Now, I can deal with subpar food, occasionally things can go wrong. Food is relatively good (comparable With Pollo Tropical). This place specifically did not have its soft drink machine working (on a Saturday night). My dish included soft drink and they told us to get Jupina (which is much more expensive) and did not even compensate for the soft drink that they did not have. I placed an online order through La Granja website. The order consisted of 4 chicken bowls. 3 of them with beans, corn, onion and rice. The 4th with only beans. When we got there all 4 were the same. For the last 20 minutes the chef, cashier and waitress were yelling us because they said that I placed my order wrong. I showed them our email receipt, which clearly showed I had ordered the bowls how we wanted. The cashiers refused to give us a refund saying because we ordered through the app it was impossible. They also refused to call a manager. The cashier then showed us our kitchen ticket who showed us we were right and they were still arguing! The waitress Susana then started yelling at me saying I was a gross person in front of the entire restaurant. I find this behavior absolutely appalling. After Susana called me gross the cashier was so embarrassed she finally decided to give me a refund. Do yourself a favor and go to 3 chefs down the road; the food is healthier and the chicken is speed fire burned. read more

Not sure why this was changed, but the service was pretty slow to put in our order and to get the check. I had the pollo saltado and the portion was huge but the flavor was okay. The seafood gumbo is also a large portion that my fiancée and i shared. I thought all of the seafood it brought was great, but the flavor pretty bland and almost nonexistent. I tried to like it, but they have plenty of work to do to get better ratings. I went to a La Granja years ago outside of the Miami area and loved it. I did read all the poor reviews, but decided to give it a try. You walk into the main entrance, and are greeted with a giant menu board that even changes pictures. Totally a fast food vibe, and there are 3 tables inside. So I can see some yelpers being confused as to why they'd order and be charged to take their food to a table a few feet away. The entrance is set up to place your order there. So my husband started to order, but was told you have to sit at a table to order." When parking, we saw a cute outdoor area, so knew we'd be sitting out back there. But that was weird. Why have that big menu board set up and a counter to order at that's useless? #2 inside on the board I saw a steak option with grilled onions, no soda, but don't remember the price, but recall it was $1 extra for the grilled onions. Outside, on the menu that was brought to the table, I didn't see that option anymore, but saw a half pound steak so asked for that plus grilled onions, assuming it would cost me another dollar. The waitress pointed out a different steak on the menu and said "this is it here", so I just said OK. Later, my husband pointed out that what the waitress steered me to was not half but only a quarter pound, was $2 more than the steak that would've been twice the size, came with a soda that I rarely drink, and on the menu it didn't even mention coming with grilled onions. So I assumed I was overlooking the item that I'd seen on the sign inside, which was the only reason I went with her suggestion. The menu is quite extensive, and my husband ordered a "Super Bowl" but to be honest I wasn't paying any attention to his order. The waitress had a lot of customers so seemed a bit frazzled. She brought the wrong beer, but corrected that, and we had to point out we had no utensils, but no biggie. My order came with a ton of food. However, the grilled onions also came with tomatoes, which I don't eat. I picked them out, but don't really understand why I got them as I'd just asked for grilled onions. Also, they weren't sautéed all the way, thus had that much stronger onion taste that I could do without. My husband raved about his bowl and how much food it was. Our check came with a 20% tip included but then had that big space where you are supposed to enter a tip. #4) then my husband noticed he was charged for the regular bowl and not the Super Bowl. Also confusing is that the Super Bowl was not the larger size, so I guess it must mean a super or special price, as it did cost less than the regular bowl. Our waitress explained it was a special not offered on the weekend. He said OK, but that she should have pointed that out when he ordered it, but told her OK, and then he told me he'd speak later to the manager. I thought it was no big deal, but he pointed out that it wasn't right to order something, and then just get presented a bill for something different. #5) when he went to speak to the manager, another customer was complaining about the very same thing, after ordering 2 supers and getting charged for 2 regulars. Apparently in a very tiny font size that neither she nor my husband could notice, let alone read, it says special offered 11 to 4. So if you order this item at the wrong time of day, they don't point it out and just automatically charge you the higher price. Not cool. Then the other customer started complaining when she noticed an automatic tip on her take out order. They seemed to do a lot of take out orders, and I have to wonder again how many people don't notice the automatic tip plus how many might also add a tip on top without realizing it. My food was better than average but nothing noteworthy, the outside area was cute and the service OK, but when I reflect on the whole process, it seems kind of geared to rip you off, I remembered all the negative reviews, the other angry customer, and the whole sending you off to a table to order. Oh, and I forgot this....when my husband talked to the manager, he was accusatory and said my husband ate the whole bowl without complaining. Being our first time there and not having received the check yet, how would he possibly know they brought the wrong bowl before eating it? And the waitress then tried to point out to my husband that she had explained about the bowls to the table beside ours. Well, she didn't tell him, the other table spoke Spanish (we are gringo), we weren't listening to people at other tables, and...they even ordered AFTER we did. My husband says we'll never go back. We got chicken bowl and lomo saltado which were great. Needed a bit of salt for my taste but that's an easy fix. Good value for the food you get too. We still have leftovers :) It's a casual restaurant with classic sit-down / waiter options but it's also take-out friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Didn't love the loud reggaeton they were playing so we just did take out so can't really comment on the service. Fresh food made to order so took several minutes to come out. I came here a few times, and all of a sudden started charging a fixed $5.99 mandatory fee for TIP. I just do not understand what the fee is for. I have never paid a La Granja TIP mandatory fee for a server to pick up the plates and bring to me at a table. The server literally walked 5 feet from the serving station and dropped off our plates and walked another 5 feet and back to fill soda cups once. This is what we used to do with no charge. They ask you if you are dining in, and proceed to serve you at your table. I do not need a server to hold my hand as I walk 4 feet away to the soda machine. I feel this mandatory $6 charge was a way to trap us and get more money from our wallets. Also were missing cups for sauces, sauces, and the bathroom was a mess as well. La Granja is typically my favorite place, but to pay a $6 fee when the food was about $35, is not something I am happy with, especially since we spoke with the server just once. read more

I've seen a couple of these restaurants around town and always wondered if it was any good. I recently ordered through Ubereats searching for a Chicken Soup and came across this Peruvian spot. They had several soups to choose from and I ordered the "Aguadito de Pollo" a cilantro based chicken soup which revived me from whatever it was I was going through. We've ordered many many times afterwards and have zero complaints The food here is surprisingly good and the staff were super nice as well. Ceviches, Chupe de Mariscos, Lunch Specials, Combos, a great selection of latin food, kinda like a pollo tropical but much better. We've been here everyday for the past 2 weeks! read more

There 3 people outside and we all left. I also left once there was no parking. The service is below average, it's not very clean so I order for takeout. Just witnessed Manager spraying bug spray straight into the machine that washes the glasses for beer. He filled it up with water first the. Spayed it. Confronted him and he said it was for flies. Ok so, the hours of operations of this place is until 10pm. We arrive at 8:46 and they tell us they close at 9pm and it's only to take out when we were trying to dine in. Another thing that bothered us is that they have 2 different prices in 2 different menus and both are available for customers. If we get the one with the better prices and charge us much more of course you would dispute that. We did and they said that the correct prices were in the other menu, the guy was very rude and said that just please ignore the other menu and take the one they said. I feel really bad for the owner of this location!! We really like this franchise, but the service and the quality has gone down immensely. We usually order and we haven't been able to do so lately because they don't answer the phone. So we get there and they're 6 employees, 4 on their cell phones and one wandering around and one poor soul cooking. We ordered and we asked for 3 orders, simple orders mind you, as we're looking around we see only on chicken being made, we approach the young lady and she's on the phone and we have to interrupt her and make clear we ordered 3 chickens, they continue to pack the three rice and beans and they still had to make the other two, the food was cold, it was a disaster!
