The food was awful. I ordered 2 fried wings with mac and cheese. The chicken was burnt and the mac and cheese was completely mushy . The only thing I could stomach was the drink. I asked for an ETA on my order and the women stand there rolling their eyes. They look at you like you're dumb. Very in organized, the manager doesn't seem to know what's happening or why I'm asking for an ETA . I told them I only a few minutes on my lunch break and couldn't wait long. Tried the new Pollo Campero on Midlothian Turnpike today. I had the 3 piece chicken dinner and even though it looked really spicy, it was not! Actually, it was very tasty and tender. I would order that again. Had the rice and even though it would have tasted better with salt and pepper (they don't have salt and pepper there) it was edible. My hubby ordered a chicken sandwich and nothing came on it. Who does that? They think it doesn't need anything but we do. It came with an unusual sauce that was pretty tasty but strong. The chicken was really tasty but the Yucca fries weren't for us. I like empanadas but won't be going back. We think it is really expensive for what we ordered. Twenty-seven dollars is too much. My boyfriend and I didn't know what to eat for lunch and we stopped here since it was on the way home. This was our first time and we told the employees there because we didn't know what to order. They didn't offer suggestions. We ended up getting the chicken sandwiches with a side of fries. I also wanted to try the empanadas so I wanted 1. I told the employee I didn't want a side because I had a side with my chicken sandwich. My boyfriend decided he wanted to try it too so we ordered 2 more. HOWEVER, when I looked at the bill, it would have been cheaper to order 3 empanadas + a side. But of course the employee didn't tell me that and let me pay the extra money. I wanted to like this. The price was right and I like that they have family meal options. The plantain were good and although the flan didn't taste like what I am used to, I liked it. It just didn't taste like flan. The rest of the food wasn't horrible but I didn't like it. The seasoning is all wrong. It tastes like over powered oregano or something. I couldn't quite pin point the seasoning I was tasting but either way, I didn't like it. I ended up throwing most of it out - all of the chicken. The empanadas were so disappointing too. We decided to try this place as it was a local spot and i has heard only good things about their food. It was easy to order to-go via phone. The order was almost ready upon arrival. Everyone there was wearing masks (employees and customers). I was a little confused as to how it would work. I paid upon arrival. Within 10 minutes my order was ready. We ordered the 8-piece dinner with the thighs and drumsticks. This came with two sides. We chose fries and plantains. The chicken was well seasoned. A tad more St than I care for, but still good. Juicy and cooked perfectly. He said that the plantains were good. The fires are simply shoe string fries and they were cooked well. We will try this place again. I want to get Yuca next time. I was literally walking down the sidewalk coming from one of the shops. And all I could smell was food that was smell really good. So once I finished at the other store I decided to go into this restaurant. At first I felt out of place because I was thinking my Spanish isn't so well and there's gonna be a language barrier. But to my surprise I was totally wrong. This place was packed and they were rolling pushing those orders out. I ended up ordering the 4 pc meal with half fried half grilled chicken with a side of rice and beans. So I'm not really a fan of the grilled chicken it wasn't bad but it wasn't for me. On the other hand the fried was delicious. I ended up mixing my beans with the rice and it was delicious it probably would've been more popping if I had've reheated but I'm not complaining. I ordered an eight piece "mixed" box of chicken. It cost $24.50. It had 4 thighs, 3 legs, and a breast. This technically is a "mixed" box but it was very disappointing. For the record, I go to this restaurant on a weekly basis and have never ever seen this place dirty! The food is great! The downfall to this company is the service is slow, but as long as they have Citrus grilled chix available it is awesome. Not fatty at all! My fav is the Chix Bowl with the citrus grilled chix! My husband always get the 1/2 grilled chix or the fried chix. The fried chix is also very good but we prefer not to eat much fried. I agree sometimes the Camperitos are dry and not too good, but as long as the pieces are good in size then they are delicious, but when on smaller size they are def on the dry side. The next downside is the employees are not all that friendly or even act like they care about serving you. I still go there because the food is really good. I just wish they could keep the citrus grilled chix in stock and not run out all the time. I also would like to see the employees a little more friendlier towards the customers also. read more

Very poorly managed. They are regularly out of menu items (many times chicken - not good when you are a chicken restaurant) and the staff is rude. Concerns have been brought up to management and the response was "sorry there is nothing I can do, we are busy and don't have time to prepare more." So either their food prep is way off or their staffing is way off. But it appears that being sold out of items at 2 in the afternoon with no intentions of preparing more for the day is par for the course here. On the flip side of the coin their food is good.
