First off; Miguel, the delivery driver was great! I ordered the small POD for storage at our home (bathroom reno) and made a reservation for a Tuesday delivery, it was available on their calendar. I few days later I received a message that they don't deliver on Tuesdays in our area so they rescheduled for Monday. A day or so later I receive a message saying they were going to deliver on Wednesday. I'm not sure why all of the rescheduling; glad I scheduled several days ahead of when I needed it. read more

This was our first and will definitely be our last time doing business with this company. We moved from NV to VA and waited from 12:00 to 5:30 PM on June 27th--only to receive a call saying our POD wouldn't be delivered until July 1st, even though it's sitting just 30 minutes away. As a result, we had to reschedule all our help. When we spoke with an agent, we were told we'd need to contact their dispute department for any additional costs this delay has caused--like hotel stays, meals, and basic necessities. We shouldn't have to fight over reimbursement for an inconvenience they caused. Now we're forced to buy essentials like towels, paper plates, silverware, and bedding--all while trying to find a hotel that will accommodate three dogs. This entire experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing, and reflects poor customer service and lack of accountability. We will absolutely be following up. read more

Welp, here we go again. They found the "lost pod" last week and took the one that I had at the house away finally last Friday. The delivery of the last/lost pod that was supposed to be delivered last Wednesday was scheduled to be delivered today. I got a call around noon today saying it wouldn't be there until tomorrow! Once again I have the movers scheduled for tomorrow & have taken these 2 days off to finish this move so unless the POD gets delivered by 8am tomorrow when the movers arrive I'm screwed. Then, the morning of my delivery, they called to say they couldn't deliver it that day. They could only deliver FIVE DAYS LATER. I called Pack Rat and they delivered the same size pod that same day. And they are CHEAPER than PDS. They are completely unreliable. read more

I was in a bind. We had more stuff than space in the 16' POD we ordered, so I had rented a truck and moved the remainder into it. It was Thursday night. Friday morning, I looked at PODS website and saw the next possible delivery was Monday.You can imagine what I said... I called PODS, and spoke to Christian. Christian called Ron in Bristow and was able to arrange f me to drive to their location and off-load to a POD. Crisis averted. However, it was pouring rain outside. Once we figured out who was what and what we needed, he had the lift driver move the pod indoors and let me transfer there. I think the guy's a prince. Never used Pods before but reviews online seemed to be very positive. Had to ship house contents from Nevada to Virginia. The whole process worked seamlessly. Pods came to house when promised and picked up when finished. No disconnects. This was the easiest and most efficient we have ever had. Pods was scheduled to deliver a 16 foot container on June 2, confirmed, did show up or bother to let me know anything. Rescheduled and delivered on June 5 on their own, no direct comms. I need it to be relocated off the driveway by not later than June 15 (after that, the driveway will be my buyer's property and I will be "trespassing"). Pods scheduled pickup on June 20, ignoring the deadline and issue they're causing. Customer support is only in the Philippines and they have to call the manager in Bristow, VA, not far from me. The manager, Jonathan, told the Philippine customer support agent to tell me he's fully booked up and he'll let me know if anything changes. I've been chasing this for days, and every day, they tell me to wait 24 to 48 hours. It's like they reset the clock every day. This is the worst customer "service" I can imagine. I suggest you avoid this company if you have any sort of schedule to adhere to. read more

When I scheduled the service, I mentioned that my driveway was steep. The driver tried to put the POD on the driveway but scratched the driveway with the fork. He said there was no mention of my note in his order. He then "walked" the POD and installed it. When the POD was removed, I contacted customer service and they were no help resolving the issue. We use PODS services at the business that I work for and we had complaints from the customers. Now I know why. We will look for other alternatives from now on. read more

I would not recommend this location for storage or moving needs. My husband and I are renovating our home, so we reserved a POD to be dropped off, filled and picked up 2 days later for storage. The experience was horrible. When the driver arrived to drop off the POD, they called me to confirm location, I provided information and showed them where to place it. Once the POD was in place, the driver called back stating that he was unable to place the POD down because a tree branch was in the way and that he could leave it there but that he would rip up the tree next to the POD, i asked him to please NOT damage the property and see if we could move it around to get the machine out safely, the driver responded "it wasn't his job and he would just rip the tree out, that's not his problem" I again informed he did not have permission to damage the property and that i had confirmed that site with customer service, the driver then responded " its your own fault for listening to customer service, they don't know anything and that he wasn't leaving the POD and i can call them to complain he had things to do" he then hung up on me. We then called customer service, but i received a call from the drivers supervisor, once i explained what happened, the supervisor stated "well its raining and the driver has 6 other jobs, that's why he responded that way" The supervisor then instructed me to go outside and speak to the driver myself and show him another location to place the POD, i explained that i wasn't comfortable with that, due to the conversation i just had with the driver and that i am 8 months pregnant, the supervisor didn't care. In todays economy, paying for a service like this isn't easy and not cheap, and if a customer makes a decision to spend their hard earned money with a business, you expect good customer service and value in the service. I called customer service afterwards and all i asked for was for a call from the site manager and never received a call. These people do not care about customer service, they just take your money and move on. I would not use this business/location again. read more

do not use these people. i have talked to 12 people there and each one of them appears to be trained in deception. i scheduled a move with two large pods. they delivered the pods to my home. we filled them. when we tried to have them picked up they said they no longer deliver to that state. i advised them that they have a location in that state. they still will now only deliver to their own facility in that state. and not my new home. they charged me an extra $1200 to send the two pods to their own location. it is frightening how much they get away with. each one of these people deserves to go to prison for fraud. go to their competitor. read more

My PODS arrived on time. No issue with that. I am appreciative of the on time delivery. What I am not appreciative of is the lack of accurate the inaccurate communication and information. The PODS was supposed to be picked up on the same day, but was never picked up. I paid extra for a same day pick up. To make matters worse, is the company lied in its records and said the PODS was picked up as ordered. It was NOT! As I write this, the PODS IS STILL HERE----TWO 1/2 DAYS LATER!!!!! The reason I asked for a same day pick up is because it's located on a public street!!!! If I could leave 0 stars I would. Everything was smooth sailing to order the PODS and deliver it to our house to fill. Once they picked it up, I waited a few days to call and make sure the PODS had arrived at the storage facility near our drop off zip code. I was assured the PODS had made it to the new storage facility. When it came time to schedule the delivery to our new address, however, we were informed that the PODS were actually at the initial storage facility over 1,000 miles away. We were then told that the transit could not begin for another 5 days, and that delivery beyond that would take an additional 6 days (turns out actually 8 because Sundays don't count). On the front end, when it came time to order, the customer support and communication was clear and excellent. On the back/delivery end, on both calls made, there were very clear communication barriers, which seem to be in place in order to further frustrate the customer and force us to concede. When we asked what recourse we had, such as talking to a supervisor, we were offered none whatsoever. Furthermore, we were offered no discount for the misinformation that led us to believe this would be a seamless process, ultimately resulting in us living in our new house without our household goods for two weeks, with a baby nonetheless. I could not recommend this company any less. They are completely dishonest and it is not worth your time or money!!!! Update: I emailed and was told I'd be contacted on Friday. Dashboard often results in errors, so you're on hold 60-90 minutes to update anything. Never have the information you need when you call them (you don't know the policies of your own storage facility? And you can't give me their contact info to ask them myself?) A surprise 3 day hold between POD pickup and when they could start moving it cross-country caused a cascade of delays on the other end that resulted in missing my first day of work. They won't start moving the container to your destination until you CALL them (can't be done online, can't assume because they picked up the container from your house it's on its way to the destination). Once the container has started moving, you can no longer change the delivery destination even if it's in the same city, even though it's sitting at a storage facility 50 miles away Have to give them 7 DAY NOTICE to access your own POD at the storage facility. In February 2020 they just added another $10.00 to my monthly charge on storing my POD without even giving notice. I have emailed them twice and have no response from them at all. They are taking advantage of people not being able to get settled somewhere during this time so the company is raking up prices and then not responding. NOT COOL. When I first learned about Pods from reviews and feedback from other people, I gave them a call and got the information that I needed. We booked a large 16' container moving from VA to WA. We had the POD delivered in a timely manner and the driver was exceptional. When we were finished, went onto MY PODS and scheduled pickup, which went smoothly as well. As my family and I stayed around the area for the holidays, I called PODS to have the delivery schedule a MONTH out from when we were flying cross country. I even called a week early to confirm that everything was on schedule and it was confirmed. I received a call tonight (1/6/21) at 8:35(est) stating they do not honor they delivery date (1/7/21) and want to charge an additional $500 dollars to my location because someone doesn't want to drive an hour. Absolutely insane! We have to wait an additional 4 days on top priority to getting our pod. The representative stated I can go get my pod and unload myself if needed from their site. I calmly said I have $600 in movers coming on Saturday already and no I'm out that money because you can do whatever you want? He had no reason on why or who can make that policy. Never recommend using PODS for long distance moves, it's a SCAM! read more

I was reluctant to use PODS because they seemed expensive and there were mixed reviews. However, a couple people I spoke with knew of people who had used them and said they were very happy, so we decided to give them a try. We found PODS to be very professional, helpful, punctual, and careful. We move often, and this time we moved across the country. Not a single item was damaged, and I think that's a first! Usually there are one or two items that break or suffer damage. This may well be the first move in my life where that hasn't happened! I believe it's because of the moving system PODS uses to keep your container level at all times. In fairness, our container was tightly packed, so there wasn't really any room for things to move or shift. PODS was on time each time they interacted with us. Everything went just as they said it would and we couldn't be happier. Moving is a daunting experience, and PODS make our cross-country move much less stressful. We will definitely be using PODS for our future moves. Oh, regarding the price. We found PODS competitive when compared to other companies who use containers to move. Also, when we compared PODS to renting a truck and driving cross-country, with gas, hotels and meals factored in, we found it to be about the same -- but PODS was much less stressful than a cross-country drive. read more

I only used PODS for driveway storage while basement work was done. Had a 12x12x12 delivered January 23rd - cost: $232.75 (includes delivery fee of $77.99 + tax). I had POD picked up April 3rd. No prorating, so I had to pay full month charge + return fee. Wish they would prorate. Wish the PODS had an interior light. I did have problems with understanding the website and I'm very Internet savvy & do almost exclusive online shopping, so am quite familiar with website nuances. Problem with clarity of website info and made error by accidentally placing 16x16 POD in cart instead of 12x12 size. Difficult to find out total price. Would be nice to have all sizes and prices on one page in a graphic chart showing monthly price + delivery fee, tax etc. instead of seeing the fee upon checkout or email confirmation. Still this served my purpose even though I thought it expensive. I think the PODS are more suited for moving households to another location. Would save $$ versus moving companies then. read more

My wife and myself are relocating to Atlanta at some point in this year. Some point being the big thing here. We're not sure when and it was only about 80% sure when we had to move out of our apartment to her parents basement to save up money for our home purchasing plans. We looked at all the various solutions. I'm overkill on that stuff. I had charts and comparisons and took weeks to make a decision. These are the requirements we had for a moving solution. 1- Not kill us or our friends in the process. Once you get near 30, you have a lot of crap. 2- Needs to get to Georgia with 30 days notice 3 - Needs to be delivered to our door 4 - Keep budgets low 5- Needs to be easy to secure items 6 - Our stuff needs to be secured when in storage 7 - we don't want to essentially move 3 times t. We used PODS + MovingHelp.com to put together a moving solution on a budget that worked out very nicely. The storage option at their warehouse gave us the flexibility to store our home in their warehouse while we live at her parents. If we didn't move, we just have it delivered locally. Since we are moving... we just pay shipping fee's which . for their largest unit, were about $1800. Ordering - I ordered via their USAA line... but it appears all that does is auto factor in the USAA discount. Super super informative, VERY clear on the charges I was facing and the process ahead. NO PRESSURE AT ALL. Try calling packrat or upack... they are hard closers on the phone. Delivery / Pickup - Ontime, courteous. REALLY COOL. The truck they have to do this. It's like a mini crane system that keeps it flat and level the whole time. Your stuff doesn't shift or move because of that. The others are either loaded like a flat bed tow truck (45 degree angle) or you have to climb up a ramp to get crap up. Load/Securing - They have plenty of tie downs. I went and got a couple pack of ratcheting cheap tie downs from Home Depot. If I had to do it all over again... I would have started stacking earlier. I underestimated the amount of stuff we have. Before we move, we will go and reorganize it so we can get the last of our stuff in there so we don't have to have a large trailer on our hitch when we drive down. Access in Storage - Call their help desk 24 hours in advance... and they'll get the POD out for you to access. Just show up with your container number. Usually there's only 10-20 out so you don't even have to track someone down to show you were to go. Size - Yes. You lose about half a foot of width/depth/height because it's "external" size they measure. But they're clear about that. And for me. I had more than enough space. In fact, we've gone back and added the stuff we should have packed but didn't. More than enough here to fit a 2 bed/2 bath/living+dining+kitchen/Loft apartment with two people with too much junk. Start stacking earlier. Otherwise you end up loading up the entrance too much. Tie Downs - 1 post roughly 4 feet with another on the other side. Each has 2 Tie Down points. There are also a few up top. And a few bars for hanging clothes. Everything is wood. If I was really concerned about keeping things in place. I would have gone out and got a few wood sheets and sealed up each section. But went with the ratcheting tie downs. One of the drives told me though for heavier items like big furniture. It's not uncommon to see people put in more wood. No one at PODS cares as long as you don't break the frames. I cannot yet comment on the shipping to Georgia process. That will be a big test obviously, but our stuff looked fine when we've gone out to add more stuff. I've seen how they long haul transport PODS on big rigs with professional drivers. So I'm confident it will arrive in good condition. To sum it all up... I've been very very happy with everything for 3 months. I've recommended this solution to everyone I've talked to who is moving or has to store things. Our situation I know is not the normal move... usually you're going from Point A to Point B. Not Point A to Parents basement/Storage then Point C. But it's working out great for us. All that said... if you're just using them to move and not store... I think UnitedMoving would have been a little cheaper and similar. If you're moving locally... just use MovingHelp and find one of the companies that has a truck and insurance. read more

We had zero problems and found you just really need to be careful and follow directions. It's that simple. If you are on a tight schedule, determine when you want the POD picked up at the time you order your POD. Then just be sure to schedule the delivery and pickup at the same time (1day apart or call for same day). The only issue is the sizing of your POD. A16-foot POD will hold a 1 to 2 bedroom apartment, not a 2 to 3 bedroom. Although it is taller than a moving truck there's no way you'll fit a 3rd bedroom of furniture. We move a lot, have very little extra stuff, and we needed about 1 more foot in length for 2 bedrooms. Ours was packed tight from floor to ceiling. I recommend PODS read more

They say the pod is 16 ft x8 ft x8ft. This is a bit misleading. That is an external size. When all I am interested in is the storage capacity, giving the dimensions they give, they are trying to hoodwink us. The pod is very poorly designed, many square feet of space is wasted by the sloppy design, also, lots of hard edges to damage your stuff during transport. It is fitted with the cheapest form of locking on it. It would take a child with a stout screwdriver moments to gain entry into the Pod. All this and they will not deliver your pod to the whole country, why it cannot be delivered like any other box, to any other address is a mystery. So it is not that convenient Pods also think it is okay to give out your contact details to whomever it sees fit. I had to turn away email after email, and direct calls trying to solicit work, "do you need help filling your pod" is the main question they ask. Who told them about my personal situation? Mmm? We recently completed our move from Falls Church VA to Napa CA using PODS without issue. We had none of the scheduling issues reported in other reviews. They also helped us with a quick schedule change to delay pick up of the packed POD by one day when we needed more time. The POD delivery drivers also did an excellent job maneuvering the driveway and tree branches at the pick up location and did an excellent job positioning the container at the drop off location which had a steeper than expected driveway. I would definitely use them again if I had the same sort of moving needs in the future. Having said this, there were some issues with the move that others should be aware of when using a service like this. (1) it took longer to carefully pack the POD than expected. We needed more help than we expected and failed to get some stuff in there. (2) we didn't use a tracker like a gps device that would have helped if the POD was delayed or lost. Others have suggested this and we wish we had done so as an added layer of insurance, but fortunately didn't need it. (3) we didn't put packets in the container to dehumidify during the move despite guidance recommending this per PODS and other reviewers. Our couch ended up with a faint "stale" smell that might have been avoided if we had. (4) We didn't put a flat layer to protect the contents that sit next to the door. A plastic container managed to shift during the move and wedge up against the ridges in the door, making it impossible for us to open the container. The PODS driver was able to jostle the container to re-shift things and get everything out and fortunately that jostling didn't cause damage, but this could have been a big issue. In summary, it was a cost-effective way to DIY the move for us and PODS met every service expectation we had of them without issue, were friendly and seemed skilled with handling the container, and accommodated our short notice schedule change without charge. read more

December 27th Pods delivered us a wet, rotten & Moldy pod. We didn't want to put our belongings in a gross pod that is leaking. When we called they said we couldn't get another one so we had them pick it up empty and went with another company that gave great service. I was told they would give me a refund and put it in the system as "picked up empty". They did not, I called a week later it was in the system wrong. I was told it would be fixed and we would get a refund. 8 days later still did not get refunded so disputed with my credit card company. March received to charges from pods on my credit card called and they said it would be fixed and again had to dispute with my credit card company. May received more charges totaling over $1000 on my credit card for months all the way back to December. Again we called, we set it up so they cannot charge us. Then 2 weeks later we get a letter saying they are sending us to collections. Here it is in June we have called 8 different times saying it will be fixed and has not. We are beyond frustrated. We are ready to go to court over bullying tactics. We refused their dirty pod so we did not receive any services they are charging us for nothing. read more

Very disappointed!!! I booked a POD online and based upon my address in Alexandria, VA I was given the option to place the POD in my backyard. Upon arrival the driver informed me that the POD must be placed on pavement and is never placed in a yard. If this is the case, then why is yard placement even an option? When I called the company even a staff member told me it could be placed in the yard, while others told the driver it could not. This company should get its act together and stop inconveniencing customers. I was left a day before a big move without onsite storage. Moving is frustrating enough without having incompetence such as this. I will never use this company or recommend this company to anyone. We've been using PODS for four years now, obtaining a container that gives us a place to store and stage a charity 10K race. It's always a great experience -- easy to order, delivery and pickup occurring as scheduled -- but this year's driver was way way beyond awesome, going literally the extra mile to make sure the container was placed exactly where we needed it and situated the right way. And for the second year in a row, the container we received looked like we were among the first few users it had ever seen -- beautiful, clean, no problems at ALL. Customer service was combative and unpleasant. We did eventually get our belongings, which seems like the bare minimum for a moving/delivery service, but the delay, the hidden charges, and the customer service made it all much, much more stressful than necessary. read more

They slammed the pod/pod mover into my car and now just don't even acknowledge it. The only reason I had my car there was because they told me that if there was a car on the side they could not move it. So I placed mine there to keep others from parking beside the POD. They told me they would call before they came so I could move my car. They did not and around 1ish when I had not heard from them but needed to run errands I went to move it. He was already putting the POD on the truck. I said, "Oh I never received a call to come move my car, looks like you got the pod out." The guy said he called and nothing about the damage to my car. Once they left I noticed a huge dent in the side of my Jeep. Its an older car but I have maintained it and it was in great working condition. The damages are so bad, its basically totaled as far as insurance is concerned. Even though I put in a few inquires I have never even been contacted back about the damages. This happened in January. So I gave them ample time to respond and still NOTHING. TO MANY CHOICES for these types of storage these days. Go some where else. read more

I ordered 2 PODs last May. 16ft delivered for June 2013, to then be placed in storage and sent to CA in Jan 2014, where it would placed on our property during a remodel. Smaller one to be delivered in Mar 2014 and the sent directly to CA. All went well until Jan 2014....when PODS called and told me that there was no way that 2 PODs could be on the same order...O.K. I worked with the women and she separated the orders. The Big POD was delivered to CA, and a weird email was sent to me with an pickup request that said "error" in the time...I ignored it as a mistake. The driver called the next day to "pick it up" which I did not order. Then I called the company and tried to ask what was going on. They were "sorry" for the bogus email I ignored but they would need to charge me $75.00 to change!!!!! I argued, they said they would check with a supervisor and call me back.....NOT, they charged my card and did not have the courtesy to even call me back. BEWARE read more
