I went to yelp and saw all the 5 star reviews so thought I would try them. When I called the phone was promptly answered and I got a 11-1 same day appointment time. Although I'm fairly comfortable with the tech world, when it comes to the analog side of things - for example, household repair! - count me clueless. In the past we have tried a hodgepodge of solutions ranging from friend contacts to brand-name commercial plumbers with varying degrees of success and cost. We needed to upgrade faucets for our front bedroom sink, as well as the showerhead. We had bought the new equipment on Amazon, but who to do the installation? Yelp to the rescue: Plumbing Solutions looked promising. We called, explained what we needed, and got a same day appointment. Shortly thereafter, they called to say a prior job had finished earlier than expected, and they could be there in 40 minutes if that was OK. Loved the responsiveness. Mark and an associate showed up right on time. They quickly tackled both jobs and were done in under an hour! As a bonus, Mark looked at a crack in our master bedroom sink, said it was fixable, and recommended we seek out a refinisher. He also mentioned that he liked Moen, the maker of our new additions, and that they offered a lifetime warranty on parts, so it would be good for us to register our purchase. We had an emergency when my husband decided to cut through an old pipe and water started pouring out. He shut off all the water to the house and it was still coming out! We had to have EBMUD come out to turn the water off, get the pipe fixed, in order to have our water turned back on again. This was the first place I called and they were so responsive I was so relieved! They sent someone out immediately and they ended up arriving right around the same time the EBMUD guy came. Then when they were supposed to be here (a week later was soonest) and the CSR was bitchy to me & said well you cancelled the 1st appt " and rescheduled again a week was earliest. Ed from Plumbing solutions was an absolute pleasure to work with. I originally had him come out to take a look at my clogged sewage line that kept backing up from the sewage cleanout in my backyard to the city sewage. The problem was that roots had grown into the pipe and was preventing the sewage from passing through cleanly. I had originally gotten a quote from my usual plumber and he recommended that I replace the entire line and it was very expensive to do so. I figured I should get a second opinion before I commit to such expensive work so that's when I gave Plumbing Solutions a call. Ed came out to do a site consultation and immediately identified that the issue was indeed from roots in the sewage pipe but noticed that it was only the first 5-6 feet of pipe that had the roots. The rest of the pipe was in perfectly good condition and didn't have to be replaced. He quoted me to replace the first part of the pipe for a very reasonable price. He was very informative and communicative about the work that needed to be done and did not try to upsell me into trying to replace the whole thing. On the day of the job, they had already pulled the permits and scheduled the inspector to come. When they cut open the pipe, the issue was extremely clear: One of the couplings in one of the elbows broke, which caused an opening and the root grew into the pipe. They extracted nearly a 6 foot long root that was in the pipe! No wonder my sewage kept backing up. They replaced the the cleanout with a 2-way (I had only a 1 way), and replaced the cut pipe with an ABS pipe. I am very happy with Ed's work and I now have a new go-to plumber! I hired Plumbing Solutions after reading their stellar reviews here. The water main from the meter to my house started leaking just before my family left town for Christmas. We shut off the water to our house and turned it back on when we returned on the 26th. At that point, we were leaking 100+ gal PER HOUR, and I was freaking out trying to find someone to come take a look. Ed from Plumbing Solutions was the first to respond and showed up the same day, recommending I have the leak pinpointed by American Leak Detection and to contact him afterward to fix the issue. ALD turned out to be the wrong leak detection service to go with. They charged an exorbitant price and missed the leak by a good 7 feet. Ed and his coworker Leo kept at it, though, trenching my hillside until the pipe was found. The cost ran over what we initially agreed upon, but overall, I was impressed with Ed's professionalism throughout the process and the tenacity with which he tackled the problem. We were very satisfied with the service we received. Jacob was very professional, efficient, reliable, and clean on the job. On top of that, he was also very friendly and provided helpful suggestions on things to look out for. We also asked Jacob if he could also replace the kitchen faucet, and he was able to re-quote us very quickly and perform the work on the spot.
