Worst experience in a request for service made on 01/15/2026. I called for service on our water softener that was installed March/April 2025. For about a month and a half the water has tasted really salty first thing in the morning. When I called I requested that Service Champions send someone with knowledge of the HALO Water Softener they had prevooulsy installed. The intake person said they would note it. I then sent a text to the Plumbing Advisor we had when we were first sold the HALO Water System to make sure they sent someone knowledgable. He said he would check I let him know I got a text saying it would be Flavio. for background we had issues with Flavio on installation of plumbing accessories at the same time the HALO System was being installed. On Friday, 01/16/2026 Flavio shows up and asks what is the issue mind you they have already noted everything on this service call request. Shows me that atleast this service person does not take time to read anything. He then comes inside and runs the water. In my call call and texts I clearly explained that that it happens in the morning about two weeks apart and I need to fluah out about 200 ounces of water to get clear the salty taste. After he is done in the kitchen running the water for no reason. He tells me, "well with a water softener the water will taste salty". No wrong answer and from there it went down hill. I asked if he knows anything about the water softener and no real answer from him he proceeds to go out and literally look at the filter for a couple of minutes then calls someone who he said was a HALO tech/rep and I can hear him and I can see him on the camera standing there talking but not doing anything else. At one point I here him say oh so it might be the City Water coming in to the house as the issue. My thought was no, my neighbors and I are all pretty close and someone would have mentioned salty water. After about maybe 5 - 10 minutes he comes to the door and says the Halo tech/rep said to do a regenerate and he will come back Monday. During his time on the phone the person must have asked him to check the brine tank and I watched him struggle just to get the top off, which gives me very low confidence that he even knows what the is looking at. I asked him again do he know anything about the water softener or not. Again no real answer, I tell him I went online and videos there show the person checking things actually touching it. Things get a little heated he says do you want me to regenerate and come back Monday. I tell him do whatever he thinks he needs to do. At the same time I go into my house and call the Regional Manager for HALO directly and explain to he what is going on. Steve the Regional Manager from HALO providing the best service ever he got a Factory Technical Specialists on the phone I went outside and see Flavio is already gone and had not regenerated the system. Steve and Wayne were both on the phone with me and Wayne walked me through with checking the settings on the water softener to find if I remember correctly at least the of the settings were not correct. Wayne made sure I selected the correct settings and it was the best experience ever from the manufacturer. In short be care with the plumbing side at least because who they send might not necessarily be the right person for the job. I took off that Friday to get this done and would have had to take off another day for no reason if the person they sent actually knew what they were doing or had the ability to contact someone who actually knew what they were doing. read more

Thank you, Mark Andrade! I've been under stress and anxiety for entire week when my tenants called me on Sunday to say that A/C stopped working. That day it was 90 degrees outside and entire week was supposed to be in 90s. The family had 2 babies and the parents were very concerned of the hot temperature. I have Fidelity Home Warranty insurance. As a good landlord I also strive to provide the best service, so I called them to arrange the appointment. To make my torturous story short: numerous calls were made but nothing productive was done. Fidelity changed the transformer, then tried to order the motor but all of these have taken time and more time while my tenants were suffering and I am along with them. Even when I wanted to replace the entire appliance with my out of packet money, they were booked and needed weekS. I strive for quality and efficiency like Service Champions; I just wanted to have the job, n-o-w; to help the family by any means. Fidelity failed and I was recommended Service Champions. My ordeal has Stopped right away!! They, all, were there for Me to help, to rescue NOW and not in 1 week or 2 weeks but Now! My call and just a few other calls were answered immediately; the stuff was always friendly, polite and understanding (and I love their automotive greetings!) They dispatched Mark who came at exact time! His pleasant demeanor tried to sooth my agony but I could not rest until my tenants get their A/C work. He assessed the furnace(it's connected to A/C), he climbed on the roof to check the heart beat of the A/C and It was Alive (we just badly needed to replace old furnace and then A/C would work.) Mark gave me the estimate politely explaining the product but mind was rushing to 'can we do it asap?" question. Mark called the office if the furnace was available, they said in one day. Then my tenant and I asked 'can they do it faster because we have babies at home in a dangerous hot conditions?" Mark called again, delivered the message of the urgency and in a 1-3 min the Service Champions called him back and said 'YES!".... They are my heroes and Mark Andrade is not only a technician but a Magician. I was screaming to the rep on a phone with whom Mark was talking saying ' I love you, Champions!" They truly made me happy. What a great service! When I read the pamphlet that was given to me about Service Champions, I saw written in bold '888-I'm Happy" number. What a precise description of my feeling to you, Service Champions, even though I was broke but I was Happy! And I bet there are many more customers that you make happy with your excellent service. I contacted Service Champions on 5/1/25 seeking information on annual routine maintenance & tune-up check of HVAC systems. My conversation with office personnel was quite cordial & informative & I signed up for their MVP membership program. Scheduled 1st appt. 5/6 MVP tune-up covering cooling/heating units plus check/inspection ; indoor air quality/airflow ; attic & crawlspace (insulation /ducting) & water heater. Tech Josh was on time , professional & time spent on work performed & home health report /recommendations were great , valuable info. on systems conditions. Appt. 5/7 With David F. comfort advisor & was promptly on time & is a very personable, excellent customer service , knowledgeable & provided us with quality info. & recommendations to improve/upgrade and extend life of HVAC system/ducting ,air filtration & installation of Quiet cool whole house fan which will improve efficiency & value to our home. Received a good quote & believe good value for products & installation ( including customer discount) signed contract & good finance terms/promo payoff period. City permit obtained & Antioch bldg. Inspector will do final & sign off. 5/8 promptly @ 8:30-9 a.m. Andres F. lead tech arrived on time & introduced himself & asked some questions & look over project before installation techs three man crew consisting of Jefferson R. ; Josue M. ; Ricardo A. . I introduced myself & all were quite cordial & professional. They put down protective coverings to protect laminate flooring entering our home & in all work areas. Crew installed whole house fan in ceiling , louvered vent , electrical. Removed existing filter unit on furnace & replaced with high efficiency micron filter unit ( nice installation ) . Crew member working under house in crawl space did complete check of ducting , new tapping of all duct joints , rewrapping of ducting with new insulation & covering & taped. All HVAC duct outlets for floor registers were retaped . Cut subfloor & installed new register & alum flex ducting. These gentleman were very professional & treated our home as if their own & cleaned up all interior work areas & vacuumed floors & cleaned up outside work area. Left all spotless. Explained work done & explained new fan controls & info .on new filter install & replacement. Project completed by 2 p.m. & KUDOS to all @ Service Champions. 5/9 Josh P. tech arrived promptly as scheduled & installed final part upgrade on AC. 5/16 /25 Antioch Bldg. UPDATE: USE SERVICE CHAMPION AT YOUR PERILE A consult was setup a few days after the initial visit to see about a upgrade to our air ducts because we were told they were too small for our hvac system which could have contributed to a lot of the issues with the ac. After arriving I told them the ac stopped working again and the consult turned into another diagnostic check. Basically we were again told the air ducts may have been contributing to the problem on top of, now the compressor wasn't working and there could be a leak in the line. SO we would have to buy an entirely new hvac unit and HIGHLY recommended to upgrade the air ducts too. (Of course encouraged to go for the high end model "Lennox" and all the bells and whistle's for $38000. A a HUGE slap in the face) I said let me dwell on it and see my options. *as a disclosure, the hvac unit did not/ was not working properly before contacting this company But after the consult we were told (and it was determined that because they couldn't test the coolant level because the compressor was "totally" dead) that we needed to plan on getting a new hvac. A big contributor in all this was that our ducts weren't upgraded to a bigger size according to them. I optioned to get another opinion and he basically uncovered that the air ducts are appropriate for the house I live in, there was a part/a regulator that was not insulated that should have been (which this company did not notice) and the whole consult was mainly an up sale for products that may not be needed. AND I say this because after this second opinion, that part was covered/insulated and some wiring was rewired (which greatly improved the fan speed) crazy how he saw that the fan was left in low "mode" and after rewiring the fan worked better (again something service champions did not notice even with using their diagnostic tools) It's been over a week and the fan and ac feel really good and has not "failed". Thank to the second opinion and shame on you services champions for all the up sale and disservice( did not improve the fan and did not notice the part that needed to be insulated). Words can not express how thankful we are for having these guys, redo basically our entire Heading & Air & Water Heater! From the moment they entered the house, Lee Ward the service tech, did a full inspection of everything. He was diligent and didn't miss a thing. He sat us down and went over everything in full detail and recommended we have the items on the list priced out and looked to replace. He was so good at putting everything in terms I could understand and answered every single one of my questions. So we moved forward and about a week later Tim Santos the Comfort Advisor came to give us a recommendation and estimate. He was extra diligent and again reiterated everything Lee Ward had said and so much more. Personable and super easy to talk to. Was very clear as to what he recommended and what we needed. He worked with us, and explained what was currently happening and what would happen if we did the work that was needed to be done. What a massive difference! The service we got from those two were incredible, they took what was a very stressful and financially large investment, and put us at ease pretty immediately! A week later, Matt Toombs the Install Lead and his crew set to work. It only took them 2 days to do all the work and I do mean a lot of work. Efficient, friendly, again answered a number of question for me and my husband. They did a fabulous job on the install and it looks even better than what we had before! These guys were nothing short of perfect when it comes to what a company is suppose to act like, be like, and service! No question about it, I would recommend this company to everyone and anyone looking to get there Units inspected and maintained/repaired or replaced!. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Anthony Ball from Service Champions. I had scheduled an appointment to service my air conditioning and was given an 8am-10am window for today. Over the past few days I had already received at least two appointment reminders and this morning was grateful to receive an email and text informing me that a technician was on his way (name and picture of technician was included: ) I was also provided with a link to track his timely progress. He was right on time. Once he arrived, he confirmed why he was here and explained the work he would be doing for me today. He was respectful, professional and even took the time to cover his shoes every time he walked in and out of my home. At the completion of job, Anthony provided me with a worksheet which included a breakdown of the air conditioning tune up and the testing he had performed on my system today. He informed me of his recommendations, preventative measures to take, what to look out and/or listen for, the possibilities of future minor and major issues, as well as the reasons why certain issues may exist. Not only was I extremely impressed with his personal vast knowledge of air conditioning and heating, he was also well versed on water heaters, water softeners, etc. He informed me that Service Champions not only services heating and air conditioning, they are also somewhat of a one stop shop for various other services, such as electrical, water heaters, water softener services, etc. Anthony Ball's courteous and impeccable customer service most definitely outshines the various companies I've recently done business with.  I am extremely impressed and greatly satisfied with the outstanding customer service I received from Anthony Ball and Service Champions. I first worked with Service Champions a year ago when I needed my ductwork replaced, and I purchased their HVAC maintenance package. I am extremely pleased with their service from beginning to end, they are top-notch. They go out of their way to accommodate my difficult schedule so that they can be here when I can be available, including weekends. They are meticulous about their work and clean up after themselves impeccably. Chris L. met with me last year regarding the ductwork, and again today when I inquired about replacing my current heat/ac unit. It is about 17 years old and while not failing, there are clear signs that show it is on its way out, and the efficiency has decreased so it is in my own best interest to replace it now before it becomes an emergency call. Who knew the shelf life of these units was so short, especially with propane?! I am so impressed by this young man Chris, he is an excellent sales representative. He manages to explain technical things in a very understandable way. He's clear about explaining the options available, the pros and cons, and is so knowledgeable in answering all of my many questions. He doesn't recommend anything you don't need, given your own personal needs and circumstances. I am so impressed with this company overall. They are prompt in their appointments, prompt in scheduling service and installation. This is a company which is clearly run with excellence in workmanship and customer service as a commitment, and I appreciate that as it's rare in today's world. I will be having a new hvac system installed, and they will be able to do the complete job next Saturday, one week from today, because that is the day that I can be available next. During a routine service call on Wednesday a Customer agent showed up and explained the PACE program to me. The service call revealed that both my furnace (17 years old) and A/C (40 years old) needed either very expensive maintenance or be replaced. The representative explained all the options on various types of conditioners and the financing options and the PACE program. I was advised that they would match any competitors price EVEN AFTER the job was done. He set me up with HERO and within about an hour I had been confirmed and authorized. He also set up the install and provided me with a detail explanation of what I would get with the installation and scheduled the install for Friday. The installers arrived on time and worked steadily the entire day. They were very courteous, protected my floors were they would be walking and working, helpful/thoughtful in moving some heavy furniture, and kept me informed as to what stage they were at. When the install was complete they tested both units and did a very thorough job of cleaning up inside and outside. They explained in detail the operation of both the furnace and A/C, also checked the hot water heater, showed me where the gas shut offs are located for the appliances and the house and check for smoke detector in the bedrooms. They also explained the follow up inspections that would happen. They arrived at 8:30 am and left at 5:30 pm. The installers, Bill and John (I didn't get their last names) out of the Concord office did a fabulous job. I have been a customer of Service Champions for over a year and have been very satisfied with the Service Reps that have come to my home and more than satisfied with Bill & John. (Had all new HVAC system placed, plus silver shield and 38" insulation in attic space) We had the best experience with Service Champions. When we started looking into getting AC, Kevin Andrews was the one who convinced us to get a quote, even though we doubted because the quote might be a bit higher than we anticipated. Then Roberto came out and spent 3 hours going over everything, and explained that the reason the other bids were so low was because they did not quote fixing current issues in the duct work or electrical. We were beyond impressed with his time and care looking over our house to make sure we would have the best system for the money over the years. Our install team was insane, in the best way. (Roger, Kintroy, Giovanni, Justin) They came exactly on time in the morning, and stayed until dark because it was going to be in the 100s the next day, and they wanted us to have some AC, even if the project was not complete. At one point, the electrical was completely wrong (due to errors of install befor we bought the house); and because you pay for what you sign, we did not have to pay for the issues that came up. All in all, yes it may seem more expensive on paper to go with service champions. I would do it again because of the level of care and attention to detail. You are paying for the ease and peace of mind, and being able to sleep at night knowing your house is completely safe. They men who came were kind, were funny and silly to my 3 kids who were at home, watched their language, and even though I offered up my house to be used (restrooms, water, food ect), they asked every time to use something. Service Champions is an amazing service provider for heating and air conditioning and also water heaters. I have been a Service Champions VIP Member for several years now. They installed my water heater, my furnace and my air conditioning unit. They have also provided yearly maintenance on these units for me. Last week Lawrence Morten came out to perform the annual maintenance on my furnace to prepare it for the winter months. Lawrence is fantastic! He is very knowledgeable, thorough and very personable. He explained to me everything he was doing and took the time to make sure I understood what he was explaining to me and made sure I was completely satisfied with the job. While at my home he came across an issue with my water heater. Lawrence contacted Donald Potts, another fantastic member of the Service Champions family, to assist with determining what the issue was with my water heater. The two men worked on the issue together. Mr. Potts discovered what the problem was. A new part was ordered but, in the meantime, the two gentlemen made sure I was not without hot water while we waited for the new part to be delivered. Today both Lawrence Morten and Donald Potts returned to complete the repair on the water heater. Again, both gentlemen are fantastic! I can't say this enough! All the Service Champions technicians that I have encountered are professionals who work to make sure the customer is completely satisfied. I wholeheartedly wish to rate the Service Champion technician, David Daberdaku, a 10 Star on a 5-star-max scale. Yes, I am totally serious !! I own a few rental properties and there have been HVAC problems of some sort every now and then. Meaning also, I have had experiences with countless repair companies and technicians over many years. I have been having a unique HVAC problem of late. It was due to a builder's fault with the ducts which the first four technicians (from other reputable companies that ranked at the top on yelp) were unable to diagnose correctly. As a matter, their diagnoses were not even close to being correct. Then came David Daberdaku. He was professional, knowledgeable and patient. He discovered the real problem, showed the problem to me (with pictures he took), and explained what he discovered, in great details. I have got to say, if I had not been sent David Daberdaku, I would still be going through more companies and technicians for sure without being able to learn what the real problem is. Like I had said, my HVAC problem was unique. The willingness of David to think critically & logically and being patient, made a universe of difference. Truly !! To conclude, even if your HVAC problem might not be a unique one, you can trust and depend on David 110% for an honest and precise diagnosis. Because he really is the best technician whom I have known in my many years of experience related to HVAC issues. Going forward, I really do not know whom I want to trust besides David Daberdaku. Initially Jordan came to inspect and service our furnace. He was polite, friendly, and did the most painstaking job imaginable, one considerably more thorough than what other firms have done in the past, including meticulously cleaning the blower motor. He explained why it had been too noisy. He inspected the ducts in the crawlspace under the house--a space so low and tight that it was difficult to maneuver around ducts and pipes even by slithering--found problems of corrosion and separations, and took pictures to document what he told us afterward. He arranged for Bezalel to come the next day to give us a proposal for replacing our old ducts with modern insulated ones. Bezalel came and explained clearly the alternatives, also in a polite and friendly manner. When I agreed to go ahead with the project, he arranged for an asbestos abatement firm to come the very next day and remove the old ducts and associated asbestos tape. A 3-man Service Champions crew led by Washington came promptly the following day and worked for 11 hours in the extraordinarily difficult conditions of our crawlspace so that the job could be finished that day and we'd have heat again. All three were friendly, polite, careful to keep the house as clean as possible, and clear in talking about any issues. The made sure any furniture that had had to be moved was back in place before leaving. In short, a thoroughly professional job by personable employees. We entered into a maintenance contract with Service Champions and look forward to having them take care of any HVAC issues for us. read more

Aaron H. serviced and cleaned our furnace units x 2, air conditioners x 2 and also inspected our water heater. One of the finest technicians of major home appliances that we have ever had the privilege of meeting, watching and learning from. Aaron is an extremely diligent technician who is very meticulous & a highly knowledgeable expert in his profession. He gladly explained every aspect of the each inspections he did, his findings and suggestions regarding parts that were very aged (barely functioning) and would need eventual replacing. This will allow our family to enjoy the optimal performance of each unit (as should be) and look forward to less draining, costly PG&E billings. For our home, it was only a matter of fairly reasonable part(s) costs that are easy to replace by us, given the know how and safety measures needed. Aaron was awesome, exceptionally talented and a great young man all around. He doesn't solicit or push the purchasing of new appliances like many other companies & their staff do for commissions. He is an incredible example of the professional care, thoughtfulness and great personality that is sorely lacking in today's youth and society. I have been a customer since 2015 and, from the very first phone call, the first technician that came to my house, the quality of the product and services, I was impressed and five years later I continue to be WOW'd and impressed. All of those in the office behind the scenes are so helpful, efficient and you can see the smile on their faces through the phone! They are very accommodating to meet your schedule needs. You get a text alert when the technician is on their way which includes a photo (brilliant idea in this day and age), they arrive on time, they are clean cut, extremely polite and respective of one's home, and let you know what they are doing, have done, with photos included. They are not paid a commission on any repairs so they are not pushy or forcing you into anything. I wish they did more than Heating, Air and Water Heaters because I would literally trust and use this company for ALL of my home repair needs. I have never met the owner, Kevin, but he is brilliant and one of the very very few that knows how to run a business, understands true customer service, and he must take care of his staff because every single one of them seems very happy and wants to be of service. My experience with Service Champions was top notch from the first phone call through the technician's visit. I received prompt and friendly customer service regarding my 12 year old furnace which failed to start up when the nights started getting cold. They were able to schedule an appointment within a couple of days when other HVAC companies were booked out as much as 2 weeks. Their quote for a diagnosis visit was also more than fair. Technician Lee W. arrived on the early side of the 2 hour window. He respectfully put on shoe protectors before coming into the house to hear the details of the events leading up to my phone call. Lee suited up to go under the house to inspect the furnace which is located in the crawl space. He pretty quickly determined the problem... luckily not a big one. He also took cell phone pictures to explain the need and importance of annual maintenance.... something I'd been remiss about other than changing filters. Lee explained all the benefits of Service Champion's Maintenance Value Plan and membership fee options. He was knowledgeable about questions of mine that came up. In the end, I signed up based on his thorough explanation of the Maintenance Value Plan and his expertise in diagnosing my furnace problem. I truly appreciate the professionalism and friendliness that Lee presented, as well as that of the other Service Champion members. Do NOT Work With ServiceChampion - Unprofessional, Unreliable, Unresponsive I deeply regret choosing ServiceChampion for my HVAC installation. It has been a nightmare from start to finish. They installed a malfunctioning AC unit in October, and despite MONTHS of trying to resolve the issue, it still doesn't work. Here's a breakdown of their failures: Incompetent Installation: The system has been plagued with problems since day one - thermostat malfunctions, the heat pump failing, and constant disconnections. Poor Communication: I've made countless phone calls and emails, often receiving empty responses or no reply at all. The communication has been fragmented and disorganized. Unclear Solutions: Even when they identify a potential issue, they take forever to provide a solution. Technicians seem unsure, and I've been given conflicting information. Lack of Accountability: Despite promises of a "100% satisfaction guarantee," they've wasted my time, money, and caused immense stress - especially with a new baby in the house. ServiceChampion's negligence and lack of professionalism are appalling. They do not value their customers or stand behind their work. If you need reliable HVAC services, look elsewhere. I called around different companies for quotes and estimates on our wonky A/C central air, and settled on Service Champions. Their Yelp rating and reasonable $69 full-diagnostic check made me decide on them (other companies had "gas fees" just to come out, what??). 1. 7/12: Customer service department was WONderful. The two ladies I talked to (Priscilla & I forgot the scheduler lady's name) were very nice, patient, and answered all my questions. I got a next-day appointment for the diagnostic. 2. 7/13: Mark and Justin D came out in the very beginning of the time-window (12-3, they arrived 12-12:30). They were very knowledgeable, friendly, just good people. They worked with us to figure out what we were able to and willing to do to have our unit fixed. Service Champions had a nice array of options with their pro's and cons; neither my fiance or I felt pressured to make a decision any which-way. Several band-aid options, and many options for new units, or even to not do anything. 3. We decided to replace our unit, both the heater and A/C... which turned out to be 30 years old, leaking and using out-dated freon. 4. 7/14: Frank and Nam came out with our new pad, A/C unit, heater, and installed it. They were both very nice, happy to answer any questions throughout the day, and even vacuumed before leaving! 5. All four of the guys who came out were great, and allowed us to let our beagle out of his kennel to say hello and jump on them. read more

We would recommend this company to everyone. Our A/C was in our home when we purchased 2 years ago. We complained that our AC sucked! We received a letter with an offer of $88 to have someone come out for up to 1 1/2 hours and go thru our system completely to see if there are any issues that could boost the A/C's capacity. We got Ben Carter. This young man was excellent in every aspect of doing business in the field of AC!! He was professional, onetime, correctly diagnosed our entire system and found that our A/C needed coolant along with several other issues, ie. low insulation in roof, old ducting underneath our home. This was the best $88 I have ever spent. It did cost a little to have the coolant put in but we had an immediate outcome. He tested our differential of air in to air out. We were at 10 (Change in degrees) out before he came and now we are 20 (DOUBLE). They also have several options for maintenance plans. Our AC is not that old but if it was I would totally do it. The theory on our coolant is that between the Furnace and condenser the original company that installed did not put enough coolant to do the job. They did not factor the extra coolant needed because we had a very large distance between furnace and unit. :) We are so happy and would recommend this company to anyone we know.
