What really stood out to me was his professionalism and genuine care--after our phone conversation, he followed up with additional advice via text to make sure everything was resolved properly. He is also going to install a some outlets in my backyard when he comes back for the hot tub. Tony was responsive, professional, knowledgeable and chill to chat with throughout the week. He was also very good with taking Covid precautions/mask wearing while coming into close contact or coming into the house. He was flexible with coordinating his work with the concrete job I had going at the same time. The conduit work he did in my garage was clean and, in a way, was like its own art form. Tony was amazing and available last minute to come out to my home. I was crazy worried that I had a fire hazard with lights flickering and the panel buzzing. He came out and diagnosed the issue to be PG&E's. PG&E came out within an hour and fixed their line. I'm beyond grateful for Tony's kindness and patience for coming out on such short notice. AMG is actually just a guy named Tony, which seems important to point out, as there is no-one to follow up with if you have a bizarre experience like I did. I called AMG/Tony asking for electrical outlets and light switches to be installed in an upstairs bedroom that was recently remodeled. He told me that I should just watch YouTube videos and do it myself and that this would be much cheaper. I left the call thinking maybe I was pretty dumb, like I had just asked someone to come over and change my lightbulbs, so got to work watching YouTube and trying to figure out how to install lights and outlets. I called Tony back, as he said he would be willing to "consult" for $150/hr and asked if he could come help me. He did come to my house and teach me how to do switch installation and check my work on my outlets. He did this twice, staying for a few hours at a time and then leaving and scheduling to come back a week later. This means that two days of work stretched out over three weeks, when he then tried to reschedule a Monday appointment for Friday on Thursday because he'd had a funeral on Wednesday.... He then accused me of being unsympathetic when I said I was working and couldn't be available for his "consultations". I went with someone else after that. In retelling the story to others, including other electricians, it sounds so bizarre it doesn't even seem like it could be true, but I have the texts. I was just being jerked around. read more

Is there a button for 10 Stars? Well, there should be for AMG Electric. We contacted 5 electricians but only 2 came to our home to look at the job. We dismissed one and hired Tony because it was clear from the start that he is: professional, tenacious (in dealing with Alameda red tape!), up to date on the latest equiment and permiting process for our city, always on time and, communicates really clearly on what needs to be done and in what order to complete the job! He upgraded the main panel on our older home, ran new wires under a huge patio area into our bonus room, then into a tool shop where he and Dan installed a fast charger for our electric vehicle. He was able to obtain the permits and coordinate PG&E, AMP, the City Inspector and 811 without a hiccup. That takes personality and talent! So, AMG may not be the least expensive, but you get what you pay for, and Tony is The Best! We look forward to working with AMG again in the future. read more
