I have not eaten here since COVID. Finally went back and really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Service was cool and the menu had a lot of unique items to choose from. They change the dinner menu every day, and the owner, does a lot of the cooking and menu items. That's why I love it here because he is invested in his business and cares about his customers. This is a plus for me. They have a great happy hour menu daily even on the weekends. Easy parking.

One of my favorite restaurants. Waitstaff, bartenders are always nice. Food excellent, always very fresh. Def recommend to come here if you like oysters m. It can get a little loud, if you are hard of hearing. But the atmosphere is always great, intimate. The interior is clean. Will always come back here.

This was our first time there ! We went the day before Mother's Day with a big party. There was a lot for parking and we had a reservation. We waited a bit to get seated and once we did unfortunately the service was not great. Everything took a long time and we were there way longer than we wanted to be. The servers were nice but definitely overwhelmed. We went during happy hour but honestly the pricing for that was not great and only come with one item per order off the menu. Might as well just order off the main menu to get enough food. The reason why I still gave 3 stars is because the food was SOOO GOOD! I hope to be back to try more of the food and hopefully it was just one off day. I got the yellowtail and one poke taco . Both delicious!!

Off the beaten path from the hustle and bustle of Pasadena, we stumbled upon this fantastic gem! Everything here feels made with care ...from the food to the service. Manuel created a beautiful custom mocktail for me with cucumber and fresh juice that was both refreshing and perfectly balanced. I had the salmon salad, which came with beets, asparagus, mandarin oranges, and a balsamic vinaigrette -- such a delicious combo! I also really appreciated that they ask what temperature you'd like your salmon cooked -- not many places do that. Stephanie, one of the servers, was absolutely fantastic! Even though she wasn't our main server, she stopped by to chat and was so funny and personable. It's rare to meet someone who brings such great energy to the whole restaurant, not just their own tables. And let's talk about dessert !!!Hands down my favorite part (though everything was amazing). It came with candied nuts on top, coconut cream in the middle, and a rich chocolate ganache on top, with mint and fresh berries on the side. To die for! I'm already planning my next visit. Can't wait to try the pumpkin soufflé next time!

Came here for bottomless and well it was fun! I think the food here is okay and pricey for what it is. The bottomless was insane because each mimosa is so big and so strong that you really can't kill a lot of them but it's plenty to get to the bottom‍ anyways bottomless at rfd and Edwin mills is superior

    Hours of operation

I've been going to Plate 38 since the beginning. The food has always been good, sometimes even great. The service is hit or miss, but mostly hit. We came for dinner tonight, ordered drinks and a few plates from the after 8 happy hour menu, then at just after 9pm, our server came by to let us know it was last call for the kitchen... Which seemed a bit premature because their posted closing hour is 10:30pm on a Saturday night. I asked to order an item from the specials menu and was told that the kitchen already put all of that "stuff" away. But she had also just said it was "last call". Clearly the kitchen closed at 9pm. If that's the case, fine, but please change your posted hours of operation. This was a very disappointing experience.

    $14 slice of cheesecake

$14 for a slice of cheesecake about the length of five quarters laid side by side. Ironically, the cheesecake should have cost about the same as five quarters. The container and bag it came in were disproportionately bigger than the dessert itself. And after all that, the cheesecake was just meh. Ridiculously and obscenly overpriced.

Cute fun place...We came in as a party of 9 and we were seated on the side patio with an extremely loud party which was fine. Our server Stephanie noticed how loud they were and offered to move us to their other patio. What a great save! We all traveled an hour to get there so being able to talk to each other made all the difference. Service was top notch from Stephanie to the rest of the staff. Everyone enjoyed their food from the breakfast burrito, burgers, fries, and the croque madame. The only disappointing thing here was the chilaquiles. They had very little flavor, really soggy chips (soggier than they should be). I wish there was a dab of cheese or beans. 3 of us had them and said the same thing. I would definitely come back and enjoy something else. Their bar is fully stocked and it looks amazing. Sunday brunch is probably a blast here!

My favorite thing here is the ambiance. Very lively, warm and a great neighborhood gem that is not too uppity but nice for any evening. The staff are welcoming, grateful to have you & serve, and ready to give recommendations on any of the food and drinks. They time the service well, too. So you can see signs of how hard the team work as indictable and as a collective to give a great over all dining experience. The food ingredients are quality and they craft some very tasty and interesting selections. There's usually a specials menu and the standard menu, which is exciting. And I've never had a bad dish here, but I definitely have some favs! The drinks are also quality and crafted well. I've never had a bad drink here either. I recommend Plate 38 if you're in for a chill neighborhood culinary experience with a friend, spouse or small group. Or, hang with many at the bar if you come early and find seating.

Amazing restaurant with delicious food and a great ambiance. Went on a weekday night to watch the Dodgers game and it was not super busy. They had a big TV at the bar area, as well as indoor and outdoor seating. The burgers were packed with flavor and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The fries were thin and perfectly crispy.

Went for dinner with a friend on a Thursday around 6:30pm. Social hour ends at 6pm. I like the ambiance of this place. They have an extensive menu, small plates l, large plates, and a full bar. Service was just ok. I liked my crab cakes, my friend liked the Caesar salad very much. It's worth giving this place a try.

Surprised the hubby with a celebration at this quaint restaurant! Had the patio to ourselves, playlist added a nostalgic touch, conversations and drinks were flowing. Waitstaff were attentive but not intrusive and accommodating. Also had a late night "happy hour" which was a pleasant surprise. After all of the traveling we've done in the last 30 days, it was nice to chill for a moment. Hubby and I will visit again to experience a quaint dinner. Thanks for being a part of the celebration and memory.

I had a bday brunch on a Saturday with a group of 9 people. It's was easy to maneuver through the online to book reservation. Host and waiters was amazing and very friendly. Atmosphere was a really good vibe sat outside. Food was amazing. I was really thrown off by some of the reviews saying that the portions were small, but I have to say they are shareable. after the brunch ended up heading to the bar area. Very big selection on drinks. Had a really great time and all of my friends said it was an amazing spot to go to. I would really recommend this spot and I will be going back.

They had the game and we were seated behind a divider that was away from the TV and the bar area. First and foremost, the waitress was nice. She told us that we couldn't order anything beyond the brunch menu until 2pm and that also applied to the cocktails. Fine, my friend and I ordered what was on the menu and hung out until our 3rd party arrived. We were talking and had to talk a little louder given the atmosphere on the other side of the divider, which wasn't a problem for us. The experience took a nosedive when our initial waitress swapped shifts with another waitress. We had to close out tab with initial waitress and start a new tab with new waitress, which wasn't an issue for us. We ordered a few rounds of drinks and were trying to still talk amongst ourselves. However, we were hushed and told by our new waitress to quiet down a few times. I don't know what Karens were sitting on the other side of the divider, but that side of the restaurant was beaming with loud cheers and noises from the other patrons over the big game. I thought this was sort of ironic given the atmosphere of the restaurant and we couldn't even laugh amongst ourselves, without being warned by the killjoy police (our new waitress). The food was okay and the drinks were pretty good, but I'll pass on this place, since they seem very uniform with their rules. Strangely enough, a former dating prospect suggested this place to me 6 months ago, but it's stuck up like he was. The new waitress definitely wasn't happy to be there, and it showed. We spent more than $250 that day, and we'll gladly take our money to other options west of this place in the future.

Prosciutto was a supplement here and needs it imo for that oomph, otherwise a fine risotto dish but would pass unless it speaks to you - Barnyard Bolognese - a bit underwhelming to start, just too one-note for me, but it eventually grew on me and would get it again if I wanted a rich pasta - Duck Magret Au Poivre - easily my favorite dish here and what I would come back for and recommend for people, tender duck with the right amount of fat and a great sauce. We ended up at Magnolia House for a late lunch/early dinner. They also serve breakfast/brunch only on weekends. Walked in around 4:30pm and we were greeted by Brian, one of the managers. Brian was the standout star of the whole experience! His energy was exceptional and he is such a great conversationalist. He checked on us several times throughout our meal and made sure we were doing well. He on his own was HANDS DOWN a five star human being. At first, he wanted to seat us in the back corner but I told him the table was too small and he accommodated us with a bigger table. Our server Kiana came up to the table with a pleasant smile and greeting to take our drink orders. I got a glass of cranberry juice along with some water. My son got the American Dream cocktail along with some water. We skipped on dessert. From 4-6pm, they have a happy hour menu with some of their cocktails and shareable plates. The portions are just a bit smaller and the prices are a little lower. It's a good way to sample different items. I think we got a good variety of food to enjoy. To start, we got the Little Gem Salad. It was such a unique combination of flavors and SUPER delicate/light. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The next starter was the Zucchini and Feta Fritters, which was good but not the best out of everything else we ordered. The zucchini was a bit mushy but the batter it was fried in was crispy. Another starter we shared were the Moroccan Spiced Chicken Wings. These wings are gigantic and very flavorful. They definitely pack some heat, so be careful. I don't think the A/C was NOT working to begin with, so the place was already hot. The wings made us sweat even more. For entrées, we got the burger and the pork belly. Brian said they are known for their burger and after taking the first bite, it's clear as to why. It was absolutely PERFRCTION. So delicious! The bun, the meat, the cheese, the onions, and the crispy bacon...all of it mixed together into the perfect burger. I had wanted to add some mushrooms and avocado to it, but Kiana said they were unable to do it. I also asked for lettuce and she said that would be an extra charge. What extra charge for lettuce? We still got charged for avocado when the bill came, but they took it off once we mentioned it. The pork belly was also very tender, flavorful, and crispy. It's just hard to compete with the burger! We also got an order of the Belgian Fries to share and we were both pleasantly surprised at how good they were. The fries are salty and cut pretty thick. The sauce that came on the side was so yummy. We asked for a small extra cup to-go. All in all, the food was great and we liked everything. The vibe of the restaurant wasn't really all that for me. Brian genuinely made up for anything that was lacking in the atmosphere. He is such a wonderful asset to the restaurant and their company. The restaurant itself has been here for about 15 years now and it used to be a very old house. You can tell when you look around. They did a good job with the renovations, but you can see the different areas/rooms. I think they tried to keep the casual comfort of a home, while making it a slightly elevated experience. It was very clean everywhere, especially the bathrooms. They have one gender neutral bathroom, one for men, and one for women. No private parking, so you'll have to park on the street and put money in the kiosk. They also had an outdoor seating. Pretty BIG, only took picture of one side. They also have 2 small TVs. In the bar area and inside their cute lounge. I normally like to try new places, especially when I'm in Pasadena, so I'm not sure if I'll come back here. Maybe if Brian is working, it would definitely be worth stopping by again! Thank you all..

I got the sea bass and the the fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The sides including the polenta cake and the baby bok-choy hit all the marks in terms of flavor, texture and presentation. I realized they had changed their dessert menu since the last time I was here in February. To my pleasant surprise and relief, their new dessert options were really good too! We got 2 desserts and the chocolate mousse cake was to die for. My girfriends and I were fighting for it. The warm apple pie was good too. I got the margarita mocktail and it was incorrectly made the first time but then they fixed it and it was delicious. Service was good. The ambiance is always modern, intimate and not too noisy. I am glad my gfs chose to come here after I recommended and I had another great experience.

Although there's no dress code, most folks dressed in business casual or nicer. The food was delicious. Because it was shared family style, they split it across two plates, which kept the presentation nice and clean. The corn agnolotti is a must - the brown butter sauce, roasted corn, shallot, and ricotta cheese combination was perfection. The shrimp penne was also excellently executed. I also ordered the sea bass. The fish was good, but the sauce and vegetables lacked flavor depth. The drinks were also great. I got the berry mojito mocktail - it was one of the best mocktails I had. The service was above and beyond in all aspects. Think of the most ideal type of service at a restaurant - that's what I received. Overall, I had an incredible meal and dining experience at The Arbour. I'd come back for a special occasion and I recommend others to visit.
