Came here to celebrate a birthday! Made reservations for a large party. Upon entry, we were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and helpful with good follow through. Place is open, bright with ocean decor. We started with the raw oysters and hush puppies. Then we ordered fish tacos, fish and chips, steak and a burger. Everything was good. Not sure why the hush puppies came with sweet and sour duck sauce but it worked. Overall, it was good eats in the Domain!

Had the best happy hour experience at Plank! We stopped by during their daily happy hour (every day 3-6 PM- such a great deal!) and were blown away by everything we tried. We started with the ahi tuna wonton that was crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, followed by the fresh ceviche and the beet salad, all of which were delicious and felt so fresh. The seafood really shines here. The cocktails were equally impressive- creative, refreshing, and expertly mixed. Great for sipping while you enjoy the coastal-inspired vibes of the space. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere is perfect for catching up with friends or unwinding after work. Highly recommend for happy hour or a casual dinner, we'll definitely be back to sample more off their menu!

Let's start with parking. It's all free and there's parking in the street or you can choose the pink garage just a short walk away. I knew I was coming here the day before with a group of 12 people which gave me plenty of time to scan through over 100 of the most current reviews. Plenty of folks raving about their experience here, but we all like to know where they fall short as well. Most of the yelpers here enjoy this place, but there are instances where service lacks, especially at the bar and either the food is too bland or salty. The crab cakes are small for the money, the oysters don't appear to be local and one reviewer compared it to an overpriced Red Lobster. Since this is a group setting, I should point out that they do have a room at the back which has a maximum occupancy of 19. They even put together a personalized menu for our group. The apps were good, the biniet style hush puppies paired with bacon jam were the best as were the brussell sprouts. The main course choices were mixed. The flat iron steaks were unevenly cooked, raw at one end well done at the other. The side of fries were boring in desperate need of ketchup. The salmon was cooked perfectly and flakey ( best not to order steak at a seafood restaurant). Our desserts came out a lot later than expected, and they were prepacked to go. Overall, the service was slow paced which we expected and the food for the most part was good and a step above Red Lobster. It's a place I'd come back to try again. 8 informative photos included.

The thing to get is definitely the seafood. I went for happy hour and it was such a deal. $1.50 oysters and the majority of there raw menu on happy hour. The Crudo was fantastic. The crispy rice with ahi tuna was a little underwhelming. A lot of rice but good for sharing. I would recommend skipping that one. I went at 5pm on a Friday and it was pretty quiet at the bar area. The dining room and patio FILLED quickly though - so don't rely on walking in. Lots of groups. I had the Strawberry Surfer and that was lovely. Service was pretty good at the bar but they were quick. Bathrooms were very mid.

We were up from San Antonio and decided to give this Domain eatery a try. We were absolutely thrilled! Our server, Esmeralda (Esme), was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaged without being intrusive. Great recommendations! The food was amazing...my flat iron steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The salmon was flaky and flavorful. The oysters were fresh and delicious... briny goodness. I highly recommend. Cheers!

WHAT IN THE WORLD??! Plank has been on my must-try list ever since I saw the signage being put up. If I could eat seafood for every meal, I absolutely would! I wasn't sure what to expect--maybe something closer to a seafood boil--but after finally stopping by and giving it a try, I was even more delighted than expected!! My partner & I sampled a variety of sushi and shareables, and NOT A SINGLE DISH MISSED. What to order / tried & true: * Maryland-Style Crab Dip - delicious, so creamy, loved the fresh sourdough included!!!! * Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice Cakes - flavors, A+ * Yellowtail Sashimi - SO FRESH & tastefully cut/made * Yellowtail Serrano Roll - NO NOTES, refreshing * Sake Ceviche Maki I'm definitely coming back for their happy hour from 3-6 p.m. as they offer $1.50 East Coast oysters!!!

Popped in for a drink and light bite. The bar was full, well single seats between peeps so no 2 seats together. So got sat at a high top in the bar area. Stratton our person was great. Got an old fashion and espresso martini along with the Brussel sprouts. Drinks came out quickly and the Brussel sprouts took a long time. It was their happy hour - Costal Hour - time so it was busy with peeps ordering the $1 oysters. If I ate raw oysters this would be a deal! Restrooms were nice and clean. Overall enjoyed the time and I'd like to go back to try other items on the menu.

I really enjoyed my experience at this wonderful restaurant located in the Domain. Very clean restaurant with wonderful staff. Every so often a server would come by and check on my guest and I. I ordered the California roll sushi. Of course it was delicious. I'm a bit new to sushi so I'm glad I ordered something I would want to keep coming back to order. My friend had the redfish which I had a bite of and ooweee! The flavor was on point. I am considering ordering that my next time around. Again great food great staff and nice location. I will definitely be returning!

Austin definitely isn't a seafood destination, but this place did right by this east-coaster! We had a late dinner and patrons were pretty sparse when we came in. The decor is actually really nice. They have a huge boat frame hanging from the ceiling. I talked about it with the waiter and it may actually be foam, despite it looking just like wood. The crab dip was excellent. It's such a small detail, but I love those they sliced the lemons. It's so smart and you'll know what I mean when you go. I ordered the grilled salmon. It's so easy to overcook salmon, but it was about as perfect as you can cook it-- moist and flaky. The mushroom risotto was perfect. We also had just got married and they gave us some champagne to celebrate, so that was super nice as well. We'll be coming back for sure.

Yum! The curry clam chowder is a must! Nice sized chunks of potatoes, lots of clams and bacon....with the most delicious, lightly curried broth/chowder. I had the blackened catfish which was cooked to perfection! My hubby had the beet salad and added salmon and it was also cooked perfectly. If you're shopping at the domain it's a must or even if you live in Austin. Great food and our server Gladys was awesome!!!

I had lunch here today. It was a great patio spot. Service was great. The margarita was Devine. Food: fish tacos ...you could order blackened, grilled or fried. I had blackened. Slaw was creamy but it needed more sauce tbh. And more spice. Like a tomatillo Jalapeño crema. It was a tad on the bland/dry side. But the fries were good. Seafood platter was to due. Shrimp was tasty. Oysters were good (as per the other ladies at our table) and ceviche had a little kick and was very refreshing. Next time I'll have to try the sushi. Also I tried to order thr ahi tuna plate...which despite being a main pic on their Google page is no longer on the menu...so sad. Ahi tuna is my favorite so this would be a great item to being bk.

They have $1 oysters, delicious drinks, and even better service. It's the perfect way to unwind and recharge. Kate was our server and even tho she was busy. She tried her best to check in. Frank, the manger was excellent! He was super nice and helpful!

Ask the Community - Plank Provisions

What time does the Lunch Menu end? and do they do the Lunch Menu 7 Days a week?

Vegan or glutton free?

Don't know about vegan (except that the vegans they serve are delicious), but Plank does have a gluten free menu, and there are several good options. (We had a GF member in our party the other day.)

Good for a romantic dinner? How is the lighting?

A little loud but excellent service so i say yes.

Vida Verde Kitchen -- A Hidden Gem That's Worth Finding…read more Austin is overflowing with trendy restaurants where the food is decent, the lighting is aggressive, and the wait time requires a light snack and a personality shift. I tend to avoid those places. Vida Verde Kitchen, thankfully, is not that. Tucked into a great area but slightly hidden (the kind of spot you feel proud to "discover"), Vida Verde feels like a restaurant that exists for people who actually want to eat, not just post. The menu is a thoughtful fusion of Tex-Mex, fresh flavors, and Americana--familiar enough to be comforting, but creative enough to keep things interesting. Yes, it's a bit overpriced, but the food earns its confidence. The guacamole is an absolute must, and anything leaning Tex-Mex is consistently solid. I can vouch. The wait staff deserves real credit here--knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in the food and experience, which goes a long way these days. The atmosphere hits that Austin sweet spot: industrial touches softened by lush green foliage. It's stylish without trying too hard, which is rare and appreciated. If I had one note? This place needs a happy hour and a few more solid specials. Do that, and Vida Verde becomes dangerous--in the best way. Overall: a unique, thoughtful restaurant that avoids the hype trap and delivers where it matters. Definitely worth your time (and thankfully, not hours of it).

This "private room" is just the back part of the restaurant and it is not private. Then they had a 2 man Karaoke duo singing the whole entire time right next to us! It was unbearable, so loud, not even good karaoke! We could not talk at all, we came to spend time with our family. These things should have been explained before we booked! The food came an hour later and hour and half for the rest of the table, so half of our table was done eating and waiting. They didn't even bring out the kids first, so then kids were starving. The quality of the food is good, but they really need to plan better. Would never bring a large group here. It's fine for a small table.

Very underrated and somewhat hidden Vietnamese restaurant…read more The sandwiches (bahn mi) are excellent. The bread is the only thing normal good while everything else is excellent. We ended up ordering 2 drinks. 2 small bites and 2 unusual banh mi's. The drinks were good, then we got the small bites. Mango salad and shrimp skewers. we got the salad first which had a horrible flavor that neither me or my boyfriend could do, so we set it aside. we did eat the crackers that came with it. it was good. Then we got the shrimp skewers, which came and looked black. We decided to give it a try anyways, it was horribly overcooked. like rubber wouldn't even describe it. so we didn't eat it either. i ate the cucumbers that came with it which were good. We finally got the banh mi's which were ok we ate it but nothing special. Then came the time when server came to ask if we're ready for check. We ended up mentioning that we hated the salad and the shrimp. still untouched on the table. she said to give her a moment. and we sat and waited for 10 minutes. while they were talking about us and them saying "they did touch the shrimp" (yes we took 2 bites to try it obviously, then we didn't touch it afterwards) finally after 10 minutes they bring us the check. which they didn't take anything off of. so we paid $70 for 2 banh mis. left hungry with a horrible experience. We were still thinking of coming back just to grab some drinks cause they looked good. but after voicing our complaints, then those complaints ignored. Never again. Horrible.
