PJs had made a regular customer out of me. I tried them last year for the King Cake (which was delicious, but isn't their product). I came back for the same reason this year, but had to try their menu. Over 2 visits we've tried: - pralines and cream latte - 5 stars. Delicious, and not too sweet - mango smoothie - 5 stars. - chocolate chip muffin - 5 stars - chocolate chunk cookie - 5 stars - beignets - all the stars there ever have been - chai velvet ice - 3 stars; the ice diluted the bold, spicy flavor I expect from chai I will be back; I love to support smaller businesses, and the staff were generally friendly here. I suspect the less stellar experience may have been due to new staff so maybe they'll get the hang of it soon. But the atmosphere is definitely something I'd enjoy if I had more time to just hang out inside. read more

Cutest spot! Stopped by while running errands. Black owned as well! The first place in my 2 years of being in the DMV that has vegan oatmeal choco chip cookies & they hit‍ I would say their chai isnt anything to write home about, but it is good and affordable. The ambiance alone is what boosted most of this review since I haven't tried most of their food yet. I hear their beignets are to die for, so thats next on my list. The thing about Pj's is not only is the coffee good but I can identify with the staff I interact with. The environment feels warm , they welcome you , are attentive and I really think they really want to put a smile on your face . The music they play is that good soul music - last time I went I think Jill Scott's long walk was playing as little conversation were going . It felt like a home for me that I haven't been to . A nearby resident wants to try something other than Panera and Starbucks for remote work. A Google search brought this back, though I've seen it when it was the other store - sweet frog or whatever. Like most new businesses, there are quirks to work out with a new manager, staff, and people and their expectations. For starters, it was warm, unlike the other 2 places that are freezing (SB). The music is great to work, read, write, gather with friends, people watch, or just get out for a bit. It's definitely a local spot, and I heard the staff greet regulars by name - very cool! There are plenty of tables to log in and work. The chairs are not skinny-booty friendly, so you'll have to stand up when the cheeks get sore. Nothing to where it's a deterrent - all love and respect. Since I was undecided between the hot coffees, I tried 2 - Dark Roast and the flavor (praline). Both were delicious, and the price point for it and a pastry was great. The cherry turnover I ordered was good af... It weighed like a half-pound, so I knew it was going to be good. The staff was friendly and professional, and the overall vibe was pleasant. An establishment with all kinds of people and shades (mostly black & brown) and everyone seemed polite. The pix of the Prince George's County police were part of "coffee and cops" and community engagement. Shout out to Chief Malik Aziz for coming up to me and say hello while inquiring about my (remote) work station set-up. I got a lesson in the ranking structure, laughed about a few things when it comes to police run-ins (speeding) but it was nice to meet him and his officers. I'll be back! read more

If you're looking for a coffee shop to work or study, this is it!! It's a nice place with less crowd. Very spacious, big tables, fast wifi, and the drinks are delicious. They do open for inside seating during covid 19 and there are some tables outside too. Ps. Now I've never been to New Orleans but these are the best beignets I've had in the DMV area! The restaurant featured lively brass tunes, and also had decor up from Mardi Gras which was a nice touch. The staff was helpful in my order decision, and the restaurant was covid friendly with condiments and napkins behind the counter, as well as stickers on the floor for social distancing. YES... finally an alternative to that other coffee shop!!! They opened recently and I think the word has gotten out. visited PJs on a Sunday morning and it was a nice size crowd. I wanted to try the fresh brew coffee. Service was friendly and quick. They offer breakfast sandwiches, pastries and specialty coffee drinks. I even a peeped New Orleans favorite, beignets on the menu. The coffee was pretty good and very hot (which I love) it was reasonably priced and the flavor was decent. It warms my heart to see a black owned coffee shop in the area. I look forward to supporting PJs on future visits. #PGProud read more

I stopped in for a speciality coffee. The coffee was so good. The coffee shop wasn't crowded and it was clean and welcoming.

I decided to try PJs Coffee because it is black owned and has rave reviews and I was not disappointed. This has become my new favorite spot. Even my 5-year-old gets excited when I mention PJs Coffee. I've been 3 times. The staff is really friendly which is a major plus. The first time I tried a frozen drink but the last two times, the butter rum latte has been my go-to drink. Each time I've gotten beignets which is a MUST if you do stop by. Their breakfast sandwiches are good as well. The line usually moves quickly and did I mention the staff is friendly. This place is beyond amazing. They found a need and filled it! An upscale coffee house in the suburbs of PG County, by 2 area natives! I was fortunate enough to meet the owners, Tyra and Mike. Tyra was even kind enough to take pictures with us! The beignets were off the chain. I have never been so happy to get covered in powder! Read this: a non coffee review :) We drove by PJ and decided to stop for their drinks. I asked what chai they serve. Oregon was their response. No thanks. I don't understand how anyone could like this kind of brand. Sorry. But anyway I decided to get hot chocolate with almond milk. It's extra 65 cents for almond milk. But the drink was good!!! I enjoyed it. I only wished I had asked for peppermint bark hot chocolate. Next time, I will. I appreciated that they are in compliance with COVID guidelines- mask, socially distancing, no place to sit and stuff aren't on the counter to touch. Starred following this business on Instagram & knew the next time I was in Prince George's county, I had to visit. Sanitizer at the door, outside seating spaced apart. Walked in, placed my order and in minutes, it was ready. Fast and efficient service. Lots of coffee drinks, tea as well as pralines, zapps chips and other baked goods such as cookies, croissants and sandwiches. Had to get the beignets (pro tip-each person will need their win order of 3). Next time I'm in the area, I'll be back. Glad to see a Louisiana staple in the DMV. I have heard so much about their beignets - but I have never tried beignets or beignets in New Orleans before. I went on ahead and ordered a dozen and a caramel granite coffee. The beignets... They were fresh, hot, sugary, and pillowy! The coffee was okay - your typical blended cold coffee, so it wasn't that special. This place is definitely worth visiting for the beignets if you're in town! Again, I cannot speak for "authentic" beignets because this was my first time trying them.
