One of our favorite things to do when we travel is visit different First Watch locations, so we were excited to find one near our hotel. This restaurant was very new, having opened less than a month before our visit, and it was packed with people on a Monday morning. One thing that immediately stood out was the atmosphere. The restaurant had a fresh, modern feel, and the space was noticeably larger than most First Watch locations we've visited. It felt open, bright, and welcoming despite how busy it was. Everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming. We waited about 25 minutes to be seated, and our food took a little longer than usual to arrive, but given the crowd, that was understandable. As always, First Watch delivered a great experience. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. My husband and I had a good laugh when she asked if we wanted separate checks at the end of our meal. LOL The food arrived hot, fresh, and well-seasoned, just as we've come to expect from First Watch. Overall, it was another enjoyable visit, and I would definitely return the next time I'm in the area. read more

Due to the great service and immaculate food, the wait was around 25 minutes to be seated but WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!!! Wonderful space to come and have breakfast or lunch even with the crowds, was a nice atmosphere. Food was served at optimal temperatures and the only mishap was one of the drinks were not made correctly the first time but they remedied the situation. Had a really enjoyable brunch at First Watch. The food was flavorful, thoughtfully composed, and generously portioned. The Chimichurri Steak and Eggs Hash was the standout. The steak was tender, the eggs were cooked just right, and the chimichurri brought a fresh, herby brightness that balanced the richness of the dish. The feta added a nice salty finish that pulled everything together. If I had one small note, the potatoes could have been cooked a little more for a crisper texture, but it didn't take away from the flavor of the dish at all. The overall taste was still very strong, and the components worked really well together. The pancake was another highlight. I wish I could give it a negative 5. I ordered an "extra crispy" waffle and potatoes. Easy, right??? Think again. They brought me a waffle with eggs and sausage on the plate...sent back. Came back really quickly with another waffle and of course, it's not extra crispy. Server said they took it from another plate!!! WTH??? Anyway, I looked to my right to see them giving a guy next to me the plate with a waffle, eggs and sausage!! WRONG!!! As this is happening, I start my potatoes, which were like warm. My partner's bacon was under-cooked so he sent that back when they took the first waffle...asked that they continue cooking it. Back to the second waffle...first, I'm not going to eat a waffle you took off another plate. Second, it was not cooked per my request. As I was explaining this to the server, that heffa walked away. I was craving a waffle and this First Watch makes the BEST ones. Their waffles are light and crispy on the edges but so soft inside. Today was no different. We ordered two trifecta breakfasts which included your choice of meat, two eggs, and your choice of a waffle, French toast, or multi-grain pancake. I had turkey links, scrambled eggs, and a waffle. My wife had bacon, eggs with cheese, and French toast. Everything was delicious! Angel was our server and she was beyond exceptional. Worst First Watch experience! I've visited several First Watch locations and this is by far the worst one. From the wait time to the hosts to the servers. We were quoted a 30-50 minute wait time which we understand given it was the Saturday before Father's Day but the hosts didn't do a good job of seating people as tables cleared up. When we were finally seated, our server took nearly 10 minutes to greet us and when she did she said she would be back in 5 minutes. That made no sense given she didn't have anything on her tray. She could have at least taken our drink orders. I guess another server could sense our frustration so he came and asked if he could place our orders. We really appreciated this and were able to order our drinks and food. Our original server never came back to check on us or say a word. As far as the food goes, I got the shrimp & grits which was a huge portion and pretty flavorful. I also appreciated that they substituted the andouille sausage for chicken sausage since I don't eat pork. My one issue is that the onions were not cut up. There were huge ringlets in it. My dad got the market hash which he enjoyed but it's pretty hard to get wrong. For drinks, the mint iced coffee was delicious but there was more ice than actual drink. They should tone down the ice so people get more of what they're paying for. I did the pomegranate sunrise which was much sweeter than I thought it would be. In terms of the actual restaurant, it's one of the smaller First Watch locations and it doesn't have a bar. There are a ton of large booths for large parties but they were seating parties of 2 at some of them. Overall, I don't plan to visit this location again. read more

Bus boy smelled like weed and was at times aimlessly meandering around the tables. One of the two used only a dry rag to "clean" tables which resulted in excess food from the table being flung to the floor - also observed him add a second mug to the table after a previous family left instead of taking the unused mug that was moved around by the other guests and replacing both with two clean coffee mugs. A second bus boy who for some odd reason decided to shift the two mugs at the table next to us a few millimeters by sticking his fingers in the mugs. I've been to First Watch, other locations, and had a good experience. This location not so much. My grandson loves waffles and bacon. Unfortunately, they were served cold. He likes his meals warm at least. Upon request, the server brought out a new plate. Still cold. Did server think we wouldn't notice or care? Asked if there was any way to heat the plate. They have no microwave. Was told there was a spill but got no response when we asked how spill related to serving cold food... twice. Very disappointing. They did take meal off of the bill but really I don't like disappointing my grandson. Won't go to this location again. read more

There were several tables open and over 20 others folks waiting. It appeared that there was no method for clearing tables other than the waitress's. Also there was one person sitting at a 6 booth who was finished and sitting there for 2.5 hours according to the manager in training I spoke with. She stated that there is NO policy of how long a customer can sit at a table. No worries though as I will not be back. The food and wait staff is the only reason for 3 stars. You all need to get a system that works. And we are not talking computer system talking about a system to keep your customers moving so it doesn't create inefficiency. As I witness today. I came here this past Easter Sunday with my boyfriend. They don't do traditional reservations, so you have to check in online to get a seat and confirm once you are at the restaurant. Then, they will text you once your table is ready. The process is pretty straightforward and we got a table pretty quickly after confirming we were there. Our original wait time was between 44 minutes to 1.20 hours, but we were seated within 20 minutes of that. I love the layout of the restaurant. It's a little tight up front, but once you move into the actual restaurant, it has open style farm house concept. I thought the service was really good, the prices were unbeatable for brunch, and the food was great. I got the French toast with a side of sausage, and the French toast was thick and fluffy. It had two large slices of bread that I couldn't finish. It also came with a blueberry compote on the side, and that was a good complement to the overall dish. My boyfriend got the healthy turkey omelette and he loved it. I also had a hot chocolate with oat milk and that was great as well. Apparently, this is a chain restaurant, so I am thinking of going to their Alexandria location for a birthday brunch with friends in a couple months. read more

This was my second bad experience at this location, which is disappointing because it was great when it first opened. We were seated quickly, but service immediately went downhill. We ordered three decaf coffees and said yes to water--multiple times. Coffee arrived with no spoons and no flatware. Flatware was brought, still without spoons, causing another delay. Water was repeatedly promised but never delivered, even as nearby tables received theirs. The food arrived cold and incomplete. My elevated egg sandwich was cold due to cold bread, and the greens were wilted. Another order (waffle, eggs, bacon, and grits) arrived missing the grits and was cold. A separate order of waffle, eggs, and sausage was delayed so long that half was eaten simply because he was hungry. When we finally spoke to the server, replacement food was ordered, but the grits arrived late and still without water or creamer. By that point, the experience was beyond frustrating, and I canceled the remaining order. The manager offered a $20 gift card, but the damage was already done. We will not be returning. read more

I woke up and decided to be a cool mom and order breakfast delivery from First Watch. I was pleasantly surprised to see they offered delivery from their store, not a third party. I placed my order and hit submit and received an error code. I tried alternate payments, but it seems like a processing error. Bummer. Instead, I called the store to order via phone. The phone line was busy for 30 minutes. I finally got through and it rang over 20xs, no answer. So they missed out on a previously excited customer and order for 6 people . No breakfast for us. And, I'd speak directly to the manager, but since online and phones are not an option, I'm hoping someone will notice here. A breakfast not made by me was the goal today. This has seemed to become a regular thing for me when I need to charge my car. I stopped in around 12 today and was able to sit immediately since there was room at the community table. But this morning they are featuring Red Medicine which consists of pomegranate, cranberry, black tea, honey & cinnamon. Our waitress was Ariana & she was excellent and a joy. Had a wonderful experience at First Watch! We had about a 10 minute wait which wasn't too bad at all! The restaurant is very welcoming, warm and our server was amazing! He was always stopping by and checking on us which I appreciated. We ordered the million dollar bacon, breakfast tacos, and chocolate chip pancake! The bacon didn't necessarily wow me but it was definitely delicious and not over/under cooked! My husband LOVED the pancake and the side of pork sausage that came with it. I took a bite of the pork sausage and it was my favorite! So juicy and had almost a sweetness to it! YUM! My breakfast tacos were delicious!!! I visited First Watch Bowie on Wednesday, May 14 at 12:30. My friend ordered the bacon cornbread. It was cold. Should have been hot. Same for her grits--cold and unappetizing. Having experienced disappointment with First Watch over the past few years, I ordered the steel cut oatmeal, to be on the safe side. As I was taking my last bites, I noticed three slices of Red Bell Peppers in the oatmeal! I pointed it out to the wait staff. She called the manager over. When I showed him the bell peppers, he rudely replied "Well, you ate it all." I told him that wasn't the point. And I asked for the oatmeal to be taken off the bill. He said he would take 50% off. I've never had a restaurant manager engage me in an argument. There was no apology. Again, he was very rude! I felt a bit humiliated about paying the 50%. And angry. I paid it anyway. I live walking distance from First Watch. I typically drive to the Annapolis location, since the food, service and ambiance is superior to the Bowie location. Today I was in a hurry, and decided to give the Bowie First Watch another try. Never again. It was an awful dining experience. read more

Service here was slow on regular Friday morning. The million-dollar bacon was delicious! I will be getting an order whenever I visit this establishment in the future. I ordered the works omelet without tomatoes, before bringing out my order they realized it had tomatoes and had to remake my order so it was a while before I got my food. For my drink, I got the tropical sunrise (see how pretty it is) with a boost of antioxidants and vitamins.
