My husband's birthday fell on a Monday this year, so I decided to take him out for a quick brunch at the newly opened Another Broken Egg in Brandywine. The atmosphere is laid back nothing you would need to get dressed up for. The service was excellent and the food was really good. The letdown...they are not yet serving alcohol and all of the yuzu drinks were unavailable. It's brunch, so we were definitely looking forward to cocktails, and I was excited to try the popular yuzu variations. That part was extremely disappointing. We settled for mocktails and they were pretty, nice flavors. Since it was our first visit, they offered us complimentary beignets, which was a nice touch. I ordered the BLTA with a side of gumbo, and my husband had the grits along with the Cajun shrimp and crawfish omelet. Both dishes were really flavorful and satisfying. We also ordered a side of breakfast potatoes, but they were more like fries, which wasn't quite what we expected. I probably wouldn't order those again. Overall, the food and service were great. Would we come back? Yes, but we'll probably wait until the cocktails and full drink menu are available. Deducted one star because the cocktails are not available.

Being a Brandywine resident for nearly two years, typically I'll take a ride to Waldorf to enjoy a nice breakfast. Well, well, well! "Another Broken Egg Cafe" said not so fast my friend! They said, stay your butt in Brandywine and get your wholesome breakfast right here! Open for less than a month, I figured it would be packed out this past Sunday but surprisingly it wasn't. Much larger inside than it looks outside, "ABEC" interior reminds me of "First Watch" in size and decor. Let's get to the food. The menu is way more appealing than the aforementioned "First Watch", so much so, I had a time deciding which way I wanted to go. Ultimately, I went with my favorite breakfast entree, the Crab Cake Benedict with a side of grits. I must say, my meal was way past solid. I would definitely get it again. Service was impeccable although the kitchen made a couple hiccups. I'm thrilled that "ABEC" took a chance on little ole Brandywine. This will be my #1 breakfast spot as long as they work out the new restaurant kinks and remain consistent!!!

Another Broken Egg is the newest kid on the block & we couldn't be happier. Brandywine desperately needs more good breakfast spots and grocery stores given the amount of new domiciles being erected. Some have grown weary driving to DC, hitting the bridge to Alexandria, or getting on a very congested Crain Highway to dine on Waldorf. Visiting right after the soft & grand openings can be a bit risky as the business is still working out their kinks, but we packed our patience. We arrived at 10:30. There were 4 ladies and an infant in our party and the restaurant was pretty empty. We ordered various omelets, shrimp and grits, home fries, Gouda cheese grits, and chicken tenders. The food arrived pretty quickly. The grits within the shrimp & grits were overcooked and soupy. It also contained andouille sausage. The home fries were cold so the server quickly replaced them. The other food was good, but a bit under-seasoned for regional palates. The manager came over and welcomed honest feedback. He was polite and looking for actionable recommendations to make immediate improvements. The restaurant was full when we departed. Welcome to the neighborhood!!!!

We recently visited Another Broken Egg Café in Brandywine Crossing, and it's great to finally have another breakfast option in this area. The space is much larger than I anticipated, with a welcoming atmosphere and a full bar setup (though they hadn't obtained their liquor license yet at the time of our visit--they're expecting it by the end of the month). We were seated quickly, which was a plus. However, it did take a while for a server to greet us and take our drink orders. The staff appeared to be mostly young--many teenagers--but everyone we interacted with was very pleasant and polite. I ordered the chicken and waffle. The waffle had good flavor but could've been a little lighter and fluffier. The bacon, however, was very good with a nice smoked flavor. Unfortunately, the chicken tenders were tough and chewy, which was disappointing. The potatoes were just okay--nothing special, but not bad either. My husband ordered the Cajun Shrimp & Crawfish Omelette, and he thoroughly enjoyed it--he had no complaints at all. Overall, I think they're still working out a few early kinks, which is understandable for a newer location. I'm willing to give them another try once they've had a chance to iron out some wrinkles.

My husband and I visited Another Broken Egg Cafe for their soft opening and it was phenomenal. The customer service was great everyone kept greeting us and asking did we need anything. The service was a little slow however that's expected. However, the food was phenomenal including the mocktails. I ate the Fried Chicken Cobb salad with bacon while my husband got the pancakes and Southwest scrambler. Our server also suggested the chicken salad which we took home to go. I will definitely be back. The atmosphere was very warm and friendly.

Tried ABEC impromptu. The brandywine,md location is fairly new so I'm sure there will be some adjustments. However I had high expectations for this place due to the nice ambiance, establishment is very cute, clean and cafe vibe. Service was friendly but not as attentive as expected especially with so many waiters available but idle, however again I assume due to it being new and staff needed to get more acclimated. Food was O-K, somethings such as the gumbo wasn't as appealing or appetizing especially when you know gumbo, while it had some flavor it was flat and salt based, lacking the variety of flavor gumbo brings. Mocktail was delicious (didn't have liquor license yet) Benedict was okkkk. Again not as flavorful as I expected. Overall worth trying again in a few months.

This location is new. After today's visit, I'm happy to have them in the neighborhood! I joined the waiting list online, but didn't need to since there wasn't a long wait on this particular Friday morning. Every employee I encountered made me feel welcomed. The restaurant is thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable. It's new, so it's very clean (including the restroom). My family enjoyed every part of the meal. We tried a breakfast scramble, traditional breakfast with sausage, and shared a waffle. The waffle had very good flavor and the coffee was also good. Did I say I'm happy to have them in the neighborhood? :) They operate during breakfast/brunch hours. So, pack your positive energy, and go give them a try. I wasn't disappointed, and will soon return to try other items on the menu.

Wait time was a cluster. Online said one thing and checking in with the host shortly after was an additional wait. Overall, decent food and prices. Food was lukewarm when it came out, it took about 45 minutes for both dishes to come out. We arrived around the rush 12noonish. I wasn't impressed and probably won't be back! It's southern but still missing the soul!

So I know this is a new store and granted I visited during a weekday morning. We were greeted and sat as soon as we entered. The staff were extremely friendly as well as helpful. The restaurant was clean and spacious and not too loud. The food was delicious and the portions were large. I think people need to give some grace as they are still figuring out operations and training new staff which are mainly younger kids. I will definitely come back.

I'm giving three stars solely because the host and wait staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. We were really excited to have a new breakfast spot in the area and have now tried Another Broken Egg Cafe twice, hoping the first visit was just an off day. Unfortunately, today's visit sealed the deal for us. The concept is great, but the food quality just isn't there. I ordered an omelette that came out super dry, overcooked, and nearly burnt. I ended up asking the waitress to take it off the bill and chose not to order anything else because the wait time for food was already ridiculous. While we were there, we saw two other guests send their entrees back as well. It's disappointing because we really wanted to love this place. Maybe they just need more time to find their groove, but right now it's nothing to rave about. I was also disappointed that management didn't come over to address the situation, especially since she stopped by other tables to check in. Sadly, we're back on the hunt for ANOTHER breakfast spot.

Glad to have something new in the area. The restaurant is spacious and has a large bar. The outdoor seating will be great once the weather warms up. The food was good especially the French toast, gumbo and lemonade. Amanda was our server and she was super attentive, we'll be back!

One was off and one was playing music from a music streaming service. The service started off a bit slow, but it picked up eventually. I ordered a Philly steak and cheese with a side of greens, French fries and Mac & cheese. It took about 25 minutes for me to get my food. With that being said, I recommend calling your order in ahead of placing it on-line. The owner, Kim, is awesome. She is very friendly and full of personality. She gets to know her regulars and loves her community. As for my food, there was a ton of it. The Philly was packed with meat. I really liked my sandwich. The Mac and cheese was delicious. Very cheesy. The greens were definitely fresh and did not taste like they were from a can. They were just like my mom use to make. There was a ton of food, and I could not finish it. I got a container, put my left overs in it and finished them off later that evening. I recommend checking this spot out for some decent home-cooked soul food.

They also sell slices of cake that are actually made by somebody's auntie. None of that commercial kitchen stuff. One bite of that cake takes me all the way back to Grandma's house. During my last visit they had coconut cake (with the pineapple filling!) as well as German chocolate cake. I have not seen a German chocolate cake since my mother made me one for my 21st birthday... A very long time ago. I didn't even think people made German chocolate cake anymore. It looked so good, but I got my sugar rush off of the coconut cake. Hopefully they'll have it next time I come. They also have a small area in the front where they sell all kinds of different things. The last time I was there I believe they had t-shirts, mugs, and a few other interesting things for purchase. This is a great place to kick back, hang out, and really experience community. Most of the staff I've interacted with are friendly, welcoming, and attentive. However, there is one staff member who has been my server every time I've visited, and his demeanor is consistently unpleasant. He is not welcoming, not attentive, doesn't smile, and definitely doesn't seem like he's happy to be there. Because he's not attentive, I often have to flag him down for assistance, and he always responds in a way that feels as though I'm inconveniencing him. This experience is noticeably different from the level of service I've observed other patrons receiving and I hope this is something that can be promptly addressed. Customers spend too much money to be met with attitude and treated with disinterest and disrespect.

For a Sunday morning, I guess they were kind of busy, with a midday brunch crew but there were open tables to accommodate us. They offer a brunch buffet as well as some items from their regular menu and we decided to just ordered from off regular menu. To start we ordered 2 lattes. Mine a small Oatmilk brown sugar latte with an extra shot of espresso and my friend ordered a sugar free caramel latte with 2% milk. For food, we both went with the fish and grits which was delicious! Fish season perfectly, not to mention HOT and crispy! Would definitely order this again if I ever ventured back here. I also ordered some breakfast potatoes and an order of French toast. For my friend's mini- she ordered off the kids menu and went with chicken and waffles. Was a little disappointed appointed that she wasn't able to order a side of fruit for the mini. Our waitress said it was because it was on the buffet menu but just like I ordered breakfast potatoes, that's also on the buffet menu- it was just a small side of fruit...put some in a bowl and charge us for the side of fruit... Anyhoo- everyone's food came and I was still waiting on my latte....Smh... I mean, at this point the coffee should've been free! We arrived here at 12:30p ordered coffee to sip on while we were looking over the menu trying to decide what to order. My coffee literally came at like 125p. Absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!! My friend finished her coffee before mine even arrived. Our server Taylor was super sweet. Wasn't her fault my drink took so long... If you decide to give this place a try, definitely have some patience...service here was very slow! And I hope your drinks arrive sooner than what mine did... Happy Yelping!

But I love y'all, so I'm going to put y'all on game. Admittedly, this spot does not look like much from the outside...but you know what they say about judging a book by its cover. It's definitely giving cabaret venue vibes (IYKYK), so I really wasn't sure what to expect. But this whole experience was a delightfully pleasant surprise. Our server Kamaria was absolutely wonderful. She has such amazing energy and we felt so welcomed. She recommended some of her favorite items from the a la carte menu, then invited us to proceed to the buffet. We decided to get an order each of the honey butter biscuits a la carte and now I got questions. I just want to know whose grandmother they have back there in that kitchen making them biscuits like that. Because those were some of THE best damn biscuits I've ever had. Easily the best biscuits I've had in the DMV. They were huge! Fluffy and chewy with a generous glazing of that absolutely divine honey butter. If you get nothing else from here, you NEED those biscuits. The buffet didn't look like it had much going on but again, looks are deceiving in this place. There were so many delicious options to choose from. Scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, bacon (both pork and turkey), shrimp and grits, chicken alfredo, jerk chicken wings, fried chicken wings, peach cobbler, sweet potatoes and a few other things I can't remember. If you didn't find anything you liked on this buffet, you were either vegan or just not hungry forreal. Every single thing that we ate was delicious. The jerk wings were perfectly cooked and had a nice kick to em. The fried wings were fried perfectly: crispy but not too hard, and seasoned just right. The chicken alfredo was probably my favorite. I don't think this place did anything particularly innovative or special with it, it was just delicious and well made. The sweet potatoes and peach cobbler were good but both could have used just a little bit more sweetening. I absolutely loved the shrimp and grits! Those grits were thick and creamy and the shrimp and sauce had a nice Cajun flare: a little kick and a whole lot of flavor. I'm not a pork eater so I was delighted at the turkey bacon. It was the thick cut bacon too! None of them skinny, scrawny strips. Oh, and of course there were bottomless mimosas. Kamaria made sure that our glasses stayed full. This spot offers three different kinds of juice for the mimosa: orange, pineapple, and I think the last one is cranberry. We both got the pineapple and we were not disappointed. There's also a DJ at brunch. He definitely helped set a vibe but what I really appreciate it is that the music wasn't too loud so we could enjoy it but still enjoy our conversation as well. This is easily my new favorite brunch spot. Good vibes, great food, bottomless drinks, no reservations... And no driving around the block dozens of times looking for a parking space. What more could a girl ask for?
