Our server, Dayana, truly made our visit exceptional. Even though she was busy carrying plates to another table, she took a moment to stop by and warmly let us know she'd be right with us. That small gesture spoke volumes because it made us feel seen and welcomed. After placing my order, I immediately realized I wanted something different. I assumed it was too late since the order had already been sent to the kitchen. To my surprise, Dayana didn't hesitate. She smiled, said she would take care of it, went straight to the kitchen, and had my order changed without making me feel like I was inconveniencing anyone. That level of customer service is becoming harder to find. From beginning to end, Dayana was professional, attentive, kind, and genuinely pleasant. Her positive attitude and bright personality made our entire dining experience enjoyable. As an older couple, we truly appreciate outstanding customer service, and Dayana exceeded every expectation. I was excited about another breakfast spot coming to Southern Maryland. It was great to be able to add your name to the waitlist before heading there, especially if there's a wait. We were seated in less than five minutes and our waitress immediately came out to greet us and take our orders for drinks. I decided on the pancakes, eggs, and maple chicken sausage. The food was just okay, and tbh a bit pricey for the quality. The meal was also served with four powdered beignets, which I did not get a chance to try. If you have not been to Another Broken Egg Cafe in Brandywine you are missing out!!! The staff is amazing and so is the food! Their new low country shrimp Benedict is FIRE! Shrimp cooked and seasoned perfectly, fried green tomato that is not too hard and not too soft. Breaded and seasoned perfectly. Perfectly poached egg and don't even get me started on those grits! I also had their new Raspberry Peach Palmer. Was it good? I had two LOL! I also recommend the Yuzu Matcha Lemonade. My husband's birthday fell on a Monday this year, so I decided to take him out for a quick brunch at the newly opened Another Broken Egg in Brandywine. The atmosphere is laid back nothing you would need to get dressed up for. The service was excellent and the food was really good. The letdown...they are not yet serving alcohol and all of the yuzu drinks were unavailable. It's brunch, so we were definitely looking forward to cocktails, and I was excited to try the popular yuzu variations. That part was extremely disappointing. We settled for mocktails and they were pretty, nice flavors. Since it was our first visit, they offered us complimentary beignets, which was a nice touch. I ordered the BLTA with a side of gumbo, and my husband had the grits along with the Cajun shrimp and crawfish omelet. Both dishes were really flavorful and satisfying. We also ordered a side of breakfast potatoes, but they were more like fries, which wasn't quite what we expected. I probably wouldn't order those again. Overall, the food and service were great. Being a Brandywine resident for nearly two years, typically I'll take a ride to Waldorf to enjoy a nice breakfast. Well, well, well! "Another Broken Egg Cafe" said not so fast my friend! They said, stay your butt in Brandywine and get your wholesome breakfast right here! Open for less than a month, I figured it would be packed out this past Sunday but surprisingly it wasn't. Much larger inside than it looks outside, "ABEC" interior reminds me of "First Watch" in size and decor. Let's get to the food. The menu is way more appealing than the aforementioned "First Watch", so much so, I had a time deciding which way I wanted to go. Ultimately, I went with my favorite breakfast entree, the Crab Cake Benedict with a side of grits. I must say, my meal was way past solid. I would definitely get it again. Some have grown weary driving to DC, hitting the bridge to Alexandria, or getting on a very congested Crain Highway to dine on Waldorf. Visiting right after the soft & grand openings can be a bit risky as the business is still working out their kinks, but we packed our patience. We arrived at 10:30. There were 4 ladies and an infant in our party and the restaurant was pretty empty. We ordered various omelets, shrimp and grits, home fries, Gouda cheese grits, and chicken tenders. The food arrived pretty quickly. The grits within the shrimp & grits were overcooked and soupy. It also contained andouille sausage. The home fries were cold so the server quickly replaced them. The other food was good, but a bit under-seasoned for regional palates. The manager came over and welcomed honest feedback. Beautiful presentation but to get to the warm part of the bowl I had to did. Since this was a sausage gravy bowl I expected more sausage gravy than grits. I wonder had someone else ordered this meal earlier and they just served use that meal? There was a lot of Louisiana decor on the walls. But the music didn't go with the theme. I wanted to sit outside. But when no one offered to wipe the water out of the chair we decided to eat inside. The reason I gave a 3 is because server that took our order was pleasant and offered seconds on Coffee and tea. The 3 points given is for good service, even she was taken back when the food came out less than 5 minister ordering. It is a little pricey but I expected that with the items they offered on the menu and don't mind paying for good hot tasty food, but I didn't get that so I will say it was overpriced. The staff was beyond nice, genuinely one of the friendlier crews I've encountered at a breakfast spot. The ambiance was great too -- bright, welcoming, the kind of space that actually makes you feel good about starting your day there. I ordered traditional Eggs Benedict with extra Hollandaise sauce. Whatever they put on those eggs was not Hollandaise. It was more like a thick gravy, maybe Velouté, which was not too bad, but rather tasteless. Also, the whole point of Eggs Benedict is the lemony goodness of Hollandaise, which is why I ordered extra of it. Hollandaise is a thin sauce, this was like what you put on biscuits and gravy. I kept eating thinking, OK, maybe this is their version, or maybe I'll get a taste of Hollandaise at some point. No, it was slathered in this gravy. Then, I saw that they use Velouté so they just added whatever sauce they wanted to add or had. It also came out cold. Very frustrating. I was hungry and I ate it. They came to ask how it was and I mentioned that the sauce was not correct. They said, "Everyone loves it". Yeah, if they get Hollandaise. Not sure why they asked b/c they did nothing about it. The server said that the kitchen probably wasn't paying attention. I still left a tip b/c it's not the server's fault, but yeah, if someone orders tea, you can't just give them coffee and hope for the best. Not a great experience for my first time going, sadly. I had ordered something for dinner before this happened. Have not eaten it yet, but I saw that the sandwich was missing ingredients too. It was busy, I get it, but they do have to do better. The place was warm inside. It's quite hot outside and the place was full, but no a/c, or very low, like in the 70s. Everything needs improvement in my opinion. I forgot to mention. I ordered an unsweetened iced-tea. It came in a SMALL glass, so a few sips and you're through. I never got a refill or asked if I wanted one, and I was there a long time b/c I had to wait for the to-go meal that I ordered, as well as wait for the food I was going to eat there, as well as eat my one meal there. I was reviewing some of the comments, and yes, it appears they don't take responsibility for things, even someone who had a worm in their food. UGH. Tell me, where's the bacon? Where's the avocado? Is it that old brown spread with chopped onions? Where are the pickled onions? Pickled onions are thin and pickled. I just see some chopped onions inside what appears to be old avocado spread. Actually, it just a spread with onions. I think it's also missing the actual avocado! The meat(s), it's supposed to be ham and turkey as well as bacon. I just see the same thing, and they look like cold cuts from the supermarket, not sure if it's all ham or what. It's a CLUB SANDWICH. How can you use this stuff and forget the bacon a club, which is essential to it. And they added lettuce, which doesn't come (??) I mean, they really just do whatever they want. God forbid anyone should have allergies. Nah, never again! My wife and I recently visited Another Broken Egg Cafe and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The visit started off well, we were seated immediately, the ambiance was nice, and there were only a handful of other tables occupied. Our server was friendly and attentive, especially considering it was her first day. We ordered the Fried Chicken BLT with fried potatoes, and the Huevos Rancheros with a Bourbon Street Pancake Stack. The food arrived in less than five minutes, which immediately raised some concerns. My wife's Huevos Rancheros and a side of fried potatoes came out first, both completely cold. The cheese on the Huevos Rancheros wasn't even melting, and the potatoes tasted like they had been cooked hours earlier. The pancakes, however, were warm and delicious. We sent the cold food back, but when the "remade" dishes arrived a few minutes later, they were still cold. My fried chicken sandwich, and potatoes were barely warm at best. The sandwich had a tiny corner of avocado slapped on it and it was missing the sauce that went on it. There was no indication that either the chicken or potatoes had just come out of hot grease; no heat, no crisp freshness, and no residual oil. At that point, we asked to speak with the manager because the issue was clearly beyond our server's control. The manager insisted she had personally watched the potatoes come out of the fryer, but the temperature of the food simply didn't support that claim. The only hot item on the Huevos Rancheros was the egg itself. The manager initially offered to remake it again which we denied, then 50% off the bill, but since we hadn't eaten either entrée and only consumed the pancakes, I explained that I was only willing to pay for what we actually ate. After some discussion, she eventually agreed to remove the charges altogether. While I appreciate our server's effort and enjoyed the pancakes, the repeated issue of cold food and the handling of the situation by management left a very poor impression. We recently visited Another Broken Egg Café in Brandywine Crossing, and it's great to finally have another breakfast option in this area. The space is much larger than I anticipated, with a welcoming atmosphere and a full bar setup (though they hadn't obtained their liquor license yet at the time of our visit--they're expecting it by the end of the month). We were seated quickly, which was a plus. However, it did take a while for a server to greet us and take our drink orders. The staff appeared to be mostly young--many teenagers--but everyone we interacted with was very pleasant and polite. I ordered the chicken and waffle. The waffle had good flavor but could've been a little lighter and fluffier. The bacon, however, was very good with a nice smoked flavor. Unfortunately, the chicken tenders were tough and chewy, which was disappointing. The potatoes were just okay--nothing special, but not bad either. My husband ordered the Cajun Shrimp & Crawfish Omelette, and he thoroughly enjoyed it--he had no complaints at all. The service was a little slow however that's expected. However, the food was phenomenal including the mocktails. I ate the Fried Chicken Cobb salad with bacon while my husband got the pancakes and Southwest scrambler. Our server also suggested the chicken salad which we took home to go. We decided to try Another Broken Egg Cafe after my wife spotted it while driving by. Since it looked fairly new, we were genuinely surprised to learn it has apparently been open since February. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I can see why it still feels undiscovered. We arrived and were told there would be a 20-minute wait for a table, which was completely understandable for a busy brunch spot. To avoid the wait, we elected to sit at the bar instead. That decision aged poorly. We sat down at 10:36 AM and placed our order by 10:40 AM. Simple enough. However, it then took roughly 20 minutes just to receive drinks because the bartender was also responsible for waiting tables. One person trying to run both operations during brunch rush is less "efficient staffing model" and more "live-action stress test." The real achievement, however, was the food timing. Our breakfast finally arrived at 11:50 AM - over an hour after ordering. Mind you, we ordered breakfast. Not a seven-course tasting menu. Not steak. Not handcrafted cuisine blessed by culinary monks in the Alps. Just breakfast. At one point we finished our drinks and genuinely debated ordering another round, but decided against it because we were concerned we might actually become full before the food arrived. To add another layer to the experience, my wife had to ask about the beignets we ordered - which, by all accounts, are considered an appetizer. Those arrived about 10 minutes later, along with an explanation from the bartender that appetizers often get "stuck in the back" if no server claims them. While I appreciate the honesty, I'm not entirely sure customers are supposed to become emotionally invested in the restaurant's internal food recovery process. To be fair, the food itself was actually good. But good food with a near 90-minute wait for breakfast is like getting a gold medal in slow motion. Eventually, people stop clapping. However I had high expectations for this place due to the nice ambiance, establishment is very cute, clean and cafe vibe. Service was friendly but not as attentive as expected especially with so many waiters available but idle, however again I assume due to it being new and staff needed to get more acclimated. Food was O-K, somethings such as the gumbo wasn't as appealing or appetizing especially when you know gumbo, while it had some flavor it was flat and salt based, lacking the variety of flavor gumbo brings. This location is new. After today's visit, I'm happy to have them in the neighborhood! I joined the waiting list online, but didn't need to since there wasn't a long wait on this particular Friday morning. Every employee I encountered made me feel welcomed. The restaurant is thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable. It's new, so it's very clean (including the restroom). My family enjoyed every part of the meal. We tried a breakfast scramble, traditional breakfast with sausage, and shared a waffle. The waffle had very good flavor and the coffee was also good. While this place is cute and quaint, the food leaves a lot to be desired. I went with my GF. She ordered the crab eggs Benedict and I ordered the shrimp and grits (I try the shrimp and grits from EVERYWHERE). I'm from the south and I LOVE shrimp and grits. Unfortunately I'd mark this as the second worst shrimp and grits I've tried in the area. It lacked flavor and spice but I would've eaten it had it not been for the fact that both the shrimp and andouille sausage were cold in the middle. I sent it back and patiently waited while my GF ate. She's far too shy but I immediately knew she didn't like her food either once she solely focused on her breakfast potatoes. The restaurant was clean and spacious and not too loud. The food was delicious and the portions were large. I was excited to visit Another Broken Egg Cafe for Sunday brunch after having great experiences at other locations. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing. As soon as we were seated, the host informed us they were completely out of alcohol and that we would need to come back at the end of the month if we wanted alcoholic beverages. From there, things only went downhill. It took an incredibly long time for us to receive our food, and we noticed other tables around us expressing frustration about the wait as well. We were seated right next to the kitchen and unfortunately witnessed a lot of behind-the-scenes chaos. At one point, a kitchen team member quit and stormed out using profanity. We overheard several staff members cursing and openly talking about how frustrated they were. When our food finally arrived, it was brought out by one of the cooks who seemed visibly irritated about having to prepare and deliver it. The food was cold and had a burnt taste. To make matters worse, everyone at the table received their meals except me, so I had to wait even longer. We spent nearly two hours in the restaurant and couldn't wait to leave. Several other guests walked out before ordering or before their food arrived. This was by far the worst restaurant experience I've had in a long time, and I have no desire to return. read more

Food came out after about an hour, with continued broken promises of "only ten more minutes...". Check was wrong ... another 20 minutes. 2 hours of my life I will never get back! I absolutely love this franchise, and their food, but this was actually one of the worst experiences I've ever had at any establishment. After waiting about 45 minutes to be seated, I sat down and witnessed how bad things were going and overheard people saying that they had been waiting over an hour to receive their food (and still didn't have any). I ordered my food immediately upon seeing the waitress but after about 20 minutes I told someone that I had to leave in 30 minutes and they told me the kitchen was so backed up that it would be best for me to not wait. While disappointed, I appreciated their honesty and decided to leave on an empty stomach. For context, I originally came about two weeks ago (because the business was listed as open on Apple Maps) but was turned away because they weren't actually open. I also did not eat before coming as I was looking forward to really enjoying the menu. They also have alcohol items on the menu, but no liquor license to serve alcohol yet so none of that was available. As someone who operates a restaurant of my own, the level of mismanagement is exceptionally clear and I wish they took the time to do a soft opening to work out some of the kinks as they are clearly not ready to be open yet. It's very unfortunate how this location is making the brand look and starting off with so many unhappy customers. read more

Service bumped this location up to 2 stars. Lemon blue berry goat cheese pancakes arrived without the goat cheese and lemon flavor was artificial and very much overpriced. Bacon cheeseburger was also greatly overpriced and mediocre. First and last time at this location. read more

I waited almost an hour for food before having to leave without eating. I was really excited for them to come to the neighborhood and even after I was told the experience was subpar I decided to give it a try. Not sure I will be back or recommend it to others. Disappointing. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would!!! Jahmarray is the WORST server. He tried to gaslight me to say he told me something wasn't on the menu and that was a lie! I pointed to the wrong thing but I said what I wanted, and he brought the wrong thing, he should have corrected me because you work here. I wanted seafood and we talked about seafood so why would you bring out chicken. Then tried to gaslight me saying "I told you we were out remember". ABSOLUTELY NOT! you did not tell me that! I went for breakfast and went to lunch somewhere else because I didn't even get to eat. The food came out slow too, took like 30 minutes. Good thing I had a friend with me and we discussed with the lady next to me who ALSO heard what I ordered. A MESS!! The service alone makes me never want to eat here. You need to train your staff!!! Where do I start, this may be a new location but not a new franchise, I would hope adequate training was given for a new opening! Day three of grand opening, but maybe you should close your doors again to re train all the staff.., after waiting 20 minutes for a dirty table to be cleaned, my husband and I sat over a hour for some eggs & pancakes that never came, I overheard an employee say there was only one cook cooking in house & to go orders.., we watched people come in to order to go & leave with food while we continued to wait for our order.., the waitress went behind the bar & started making mocktails and never returned to our table.., clearly the restaurant favored the to go orders over in house seated..,the manager was requested & he never came.., we got up & walked out then staff came running out the door behind us to say the food was coming out.., of course, we declined to return but how tacky is that to chase behind patrons, when you ignored them while seated in your establishment.., everyone looked confused and overwhelmed.., this place was not ready for a grand opening.., read more

they just opened and terrible service not once has the manager came to us and apologized. firstly we came in at 12 and have been waiting to be seated around 12:30 and it's been almost 2 hours to get our food since we sat down. they ran out of grits and only serve pink lemonade. the customer service isn't horrible but it is not very respectful they won't bring straws unless you ask and after your drink. We were a table of 6 and sat us at a table of 2 maybe if u squeeze 4. The lack of seating and space is bad. Went to the bathroom there is only 1 stall in each bathroom! There's barely space in some areas to move your seat. The management is horrible! over all terrible experience don't recommend coming anytime soon read more
