Dang!I never had such very sad brunch meal with my wife at Denny's. Chef needs to go and get a better cook. Fried steak and pancake i ordered. Fried steaks look mushy rushed and it was cold. Pancake batter is not moist and hot when it came. It ain't the kind of buttermilk pancake I know from another Denny's location. My wife's order looked sad with sausage and bacon she wanted to try. She also got toasted brioche and it looks sad. This place need to learn from two locations in Northern VA Denny's restaurant. Service was fine. Not sure if they are short staffed. But they were busy. The wait time for sitting was zero. The waitress was training another wait staff so it was a great experience seeing that in action. They both were very friendly and nice. The food was great as well. I don't go to Denny's a lot. They had great decorations for the holidays around the store. It is always good to go to a common restaurant that has been around for years. Decided to take myself to breakfast and I decided to come to Denny's. I sat at the bar. My waitress was good and attentive and my food was good. (Food pictures attached). My only one "complaint" is I thought the pancakes looked pretty small compared to other times I've came. But they still tasted good. This letter serves as an official complaint for a recent visit I had with family on August 21, 2024. Much thoughtfulness went into selecting Denny's. The server failed me miserably. What was most upsetting was trying to receive a hot mail after payment. I received two orders of very ice cold pancakes as the waiter was not attentive. Brought food late and the pancakes did not accompany the remainder of my meal. The server was unpleasant and unwilling to make it right. The poor customer service manifested on every level, the server was dismissive and nonchalant and treated me punitively as I had committed the offense. The entire dining experience was such a turn off as the server was argumentative. The food came out 40 minutes after my arrival. When the second set of pancakes were brought to the table, the server brought them to the table at least 10 minutes after they were prepared as I watched the cook set them on the table. The server did not offer any compromise, but in fact stated she wasn't going to argue because the customer is always right. NO ONE WAS ARGUING WITH HER ESPECIALLY OVER COLD PANCAKES. To be quite honest, Denny's should immediately refund me for the entire uncomfortable dining experience. read more

Our experience has always been favorable at this Denny's (Crain Hwy, Waldorf). No complaints about the cleanliness, service, wait times, etc. Our table seems to always be missing something (pepper, silverware, sugar, etc.) butttt the attending hostess has always accommodated us in a timely and friendly manner. This is my go to Dennys for take out breakfast, however today I decided to go inside and sit down. I'm glad I did, it truly elevated the dining experience. My waitress, Julissa was amazing, very attentive but not overbearing. The inside is standard Dennys atmosphere, plenty of seating and enough bar space if I wanted to sit there as well. Today I ordered my usual: Grand Slam: scrambled eggs with cheese, turkey bacon, shredded hash browns but this time I substituted my toast for chocolate banana pancakes Everything was 10/10 Fresh, came out fast but not too fast to make me think my food has been sitting. I decided to use my T-Mobile Tuesday app to get me an Everyday Slam. The parking is always chaotic, but I was able to find a spot. When I got in I was immediately seated. My table was clean, but missing items. It was a pretty busy Friday morning. My waitress told me she would come back to me in a couple of minutes. When she did, she was friendly. I showed her the promo, and she asked if I wanted anything to drink and then proceeded to take my menu. My food came out about 10 mins later. I never got napkins or syrup. I had to ask the young lady that brought my food out for napkins and syrup. The food was just ok. I'm not expecting D.C brunch quality. The food matched the prices. Came here with my husband and son on a Sunday around 12. We were seated right away, which is the only reason why I didn't leave 1 star. Our waitress started out great!.....until she abandoned us. Our food came out, minus our pancakes. She said they're were coming right out. Cool! No problem! Ate our food, and realized it had been about 20 mins since we've seen her or our pancakes. So we're doing the international "where's our waitress" look around for about 7 mins. My husband is about to find the manager when someone comes over. We told her it's been a while since we've seen our waitress, and she said "oh she's on break". Seriously?!? That's unprofessional. I understand that breaks are needed, not mad about that at all, but at least let your tables know or have the covering server check in on us in your absence. Horrible experience on a Saturday morning, I had a party of seven the wait was 30-35mins which was understandable. Then after 40mins I was told if I wanted two tables sitting apart we could be sitted now, but if we wanted to sit together then it would be a few more minutes which turned into another 20mins. She just asked "what would you all like to drink?", and of course it takes her another 10mins to even come back with drinks and we have four children at our table thirsty, hungry, and complaining. At this point this is just RIDICULOUS. Food takes FOREVER to come out and our waitress didn't know who ordered what, I had to pass hot plates around myself ... Our orders were WRONG, things that were added and removed from our meals was incorrect. I'm a VEGETARIAN and they told me I didn't ask for no meat in my food, Are you serious that is the first thing I always remove!! On top of that NO silverware given, NO refills, NO dipping sauce that comes with chocolate pancake puppies SMH. A new waitress comes over and says that our original waitress clocked out...WOW!! This was such TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, I spoke with the general manager AKRAM KHALIL he was RUDE twice and brushed us off. I went to dennys at around 1 AM with just me and my friend it took a while to get sat and our server just grabbed two menus and went to another table and said you guys can sit here next to their table. I took a look at our table and it was dirty and our table and seat was covered in salt. We waited around 20 minutes for service and right then I should have realized I should have walked out. We had to wait 10 minutes for water and we got the nachos but apparently they were out and we said it's ok we don't want em and 7 minutes later we were given chips and cheese and they weren't even hard just soft chips. Our food then came out I got the all American slam and my friend got the chicken skillet and my hashbrowns were very burnt but the other food was ok, my friends skillet wasn't even sizzling and his food was very salty. Now it did look like they were understaffed that night so I wasn't super mad but also seeing a worker sitting at a table on their phone is a little upsetting to see at least be in the back on it unless your on break. I think I'm probably gonna try going again soon during breakfast or lunch too see how the service is then for a proper review I can't let one bad time ruin it. read more

This is ridiculous saying they are only doing to-go orders. And they always have a attitude about it like acrually what the hell. Today was Saturday, so of course SUPER busy. However, the whole restaurant was on point! We were seated, got our orders in, and were out of there in about 45 minutes! And my fiancé takes a while to eat! The servers were rocking it! The kitchen was keeping up and the food was DELICIOUS! MAJOR props to the chefs today because my French toast was PERFECT! I witness a staff member on her phone while at the food counter area waiting on food. A customer spilled a drink on the floor. It took 10 mins for staff member to clean up the spill. Great meal. We had looked at several other places and everyone was 30-45 minute wait. Denny's was about 15 so we stayed. Our server, Savannah G., was fast, checked on us on a regular basis, took care of any of our needs and was just all around Super. I have eaten here before and service is usually hit or miss. I hope they figure out a way to keep Savannah, she is a keeper. The food was actually pretty good. Some of us had lunch and some of us dinner. I came in with one of my good friends to have some food, and apparently, this friend was not allowed to be there. Although this manager by the name of "tequila" did politely ask us to leave she then proceeded to touch and grab my arm. When I asked her why are you touching me, she continued to hold my arm until I got out of character. She then snatched the menus from in front of me causing the silverware to fly. My husnand and I came in around 2:30 in the afternoon to get something to eat. The place was almost empty except 2 tables that were occupied. I'm standing there waiting for someone to say "we'll be right with you" but no, instead they're all standing there chatting to each other. And then they glanced at me, but still didn't say anything. So, I picked up the menu and started going through it, then the cashier came up and said Hi, my response to her was, I have been standing here for a while now, but nobody acknowledged me that I'm here. She said, oh we thougt your ordering for take out because your looking at the menu. Then i said, you mean to tell me, that if the customer looks at the menu you asume it's a take out order? If the customer looks at the menu before they are seated, they should at least acknowledged. Now for the specifics: Service was bad. Food was okay. Ketchup bottle was almost empty, salt shaker not working, coffee barely warm. We have been loyal Denny's customers for years ... we are now reevaluating our casual dining options. read more
