    Cucumber tomato vinaigrette

This place is popular in the neighborhood. They love this place & the staff shows love in return. I've been supporting Thai Palace for years because I enjoy this cuisine & they consistently deliver fresh flavorful food. I've been eating my way thru the menu & appreciate them offering several vegetarian options. I can add whatever protein I want. I love the vegetarian curry puffs that's served with cucumber/ tomato vinaigrette. I also need to mention the spice levels. My nose is still running from my crab fried rice with a Spice Level of 1. Consider the warnings!!!! Thai Palace's Level 1 Spice is equivalent to Level 3 at other Thai places. The Thai Iced Tea & Iced Coffee are delicious as well. Most of the time, I call ahead for carry out. Plan for 45-60 min wait Friday -Saturday night. That parking lot with TinderBox gets crowded. Occasionally I dine in. Casual vibes and service is good.

THEY OFFER FREE ICE CREAM/MOCKTAILS IN EXCHANGE FOR REVIEWS, so beware of the fishy reviews from people who have 1-2 reviews. Honestly, if you don't eat a lot of Thai food, you might think that this is outstanding, but the food here was not great. Worse than that was the smell of sewage when we first walked in and the attitude of the server, Leann. When we were first seated, everything was fine, the table was definitely not as clean as it should have been considering that the restaurant was pretty much empty, but I'm never one to make a big fuss over a couple crumbs, especially at a mom and Pop, and especially when I'm treating my kid to her favorite dinner out. However, the entire dining experience felt relatively rushed. Leann took our order, brought the drinks out within a reasonable amount of time, and then within one minute of the food bring brought out (by someone else), she asked if we were doing OK and the food looked good. We told her we were fine. Less than 10 minutes later, she checked back on our table and asked if we needed boxes yet? Like, girl, chill. I am here with my child trying to enjoy a meal. I told her I would need them eventually. A few minutes later, she brings two boxes and the check for "whenever I'm ready." I didn't think too much of it, because as a former server, I understand getting people the things they need and anticipating needs before people have to ask. I wasn't tripping off of it too much. However, when she circled back three times to try to get the payment within three minutes, and we hadn't even boxed our food or finished eating, it was annoying. Eventually, I gave her the payment and asked for another box. While she was anticipating needs, she clearly didn't think that I would want to take the $10 spring rolls I had paid for. At this point, it's not a huge deal to me. However, after she brought the check back, I noticed that the Coca-Cola I've been drinking was six dollars. I likely overlooked the price on the menu, but I was taken aback because the Coke had been so watered down and syrupy. For a two or three dollar drink, I would've let it slide. But for six dollars? So, I asked her if that was the real price. She immediately got an attitude. She responded with "I don't make the price " and I told her that it was a little syrupy and watered down. She said nothing else, and walked away with an attitude. At that point, my daughter and I, sitting all the way in the back corner, heard her telling the manager at the front of the restaurant about the situation. With an attitude, I could hear her loudly saying, "She's complaining about the soda, but why didn't she say that before I took the card?" Girl, because I was simply asking. I didn't even ask you to take it off. I was just legitimately shocked and wanted to double-check because it was listed as "soda small" as if there was another option. She repeated herself at the front multiple times, which led to other patrons of the restaurant, turning and looking at us at our table. Obnoxious, immature, and embarrassing. Like, I could understand if I had asked her to take it off, but I was literally just inquiring and letting her know that the soda was not what it should've been for six dollars. So at that point, I walked to the front of the restaurant and spoke to the manager. He told me he understood and agreed she was rude and that he was sorry. I explained to him how disrespectful her attitude and behavior had been, reiterated that I did not appreciate the sewage smell that I mentioned to her when we first came in that she told us she "was probably just used to" and that this type of experience for a first time guest was absolutely not appreciated. All he could say was "I understand." This is part of the reason why I always get my Thai food across the river. The food in and of itself was not great. Three stars at best. The carrots in the fried rice were burnt, and the peas were somehow undercooked and mealie. Further, it looked as if the crab had been tossed in after the rice had been cooked because the rice did not have any sort of crab or even seafood like flavor at all and the crab and rice were different temperatures. This was not a $78 meal. Or at least it shouldn't have been. I did not tip after this experience with the server and I don't feel bad about it at all. I would not recommend this place and I absolutely won't be back. More food specifics: -spring rolls: fine, but basic. Stuffed with veggies. -Thai tea: overly sweet and low-quality tea used. You couldn't even taste the red tea, just the hyper-sweet milk. I prefer a better balance. Yes, Thai tea is sweet but the bitterness of the tea usually balances it out.

First time coming to this spot. It's cozy with plenty of space. My squad was seated quickly. After taking a looking over the menu seafood basil fried rice was the choice. First the staff were very attentive. Everything came to the table quickly. The basil fried rice was outstanding. The flavor and spice was perfect. Definitely a spot I'll be back to.

My previous review was about a year ago. I must say Thai Palace is still one of my favorite local eats. Whether I'm starving or just looking for a convenient, delicious dish I love coming here. This visit was very last minute. My mom called, I missed her call she was callling to see if I knew whether the restaurant was open. We just had a lot of snow and she wanted to be sure before coming this way from the national harbor. She had my grandmother with her who is 100% blind. We had a great lunch experience. The restaurant was not too busy, the music level and selection was perfect. We were able to enjoy our lunch and our time together. I do wish they had handicap assistance on the entrance door. The front door is very heavy and not easily maneuvered by those with impairments.

Amazing Thai Cuisine! Had a fantastic dinner at Thai Palace with my daughter, and we both loved it! We started with the satay chicken - no disappointment here! Entrees: drunken noodles with shrimp and pad pong curry. Both dishes were packed with heat & flavor. The spice rack was a new experience for my daughter, but she embraced the heat and loved it! The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Definitely a place we'll return to for delicious, authentic Thai food. Highly recommend!

My favorite Thai spot in Waldorf. I really enjoy the chicken and shrimp fried rice. I didn't like the shrimp. They were fried too hard. The peach lemon drop was a different touch. All in all you can't go wrong with the fried rice #EatGoodAndBeHappy

These are definitely stingray fins. Definitely NOT scallops!!!

I'm not too experienced with Thai food but this food wasn't impressive by any standards. Also the "scallops" are all the way sting ray fins.

I've lived in Waldorf for nearly 5 years and I still get anxious trying new places. I was at the barber shop waiting for my son to get a cut and I'd already tried my luck when Roy Rogers so I wasn't going back. I ordered shrimp fried rice as I felt that would be an easy thing to eat and a hard thing to ruin for most places. I placed the order over the phone and was able to pick it up within 15mins. Shrimp fried rice: 8/10 I was so hungry that I opened it immediately and shared it with my kids (2). The shrimp were huge and plentiful and the flavor was perfect. I added duck sauce and it sent it over the top. It had two large cuts of tomatoes in it which I didn't enjoy at that size but it gave the dish a nice bite and switch in texture. For $18 it came in a circular dish and I don't know if the rectangular one is technically bigger but I would've expected more for the money. It was so good I went back two days later because I was bummed I had to share it with my kids haha. The second time around I ordered pad Thai noodles and I sat inside while I waited. The place is just big enough for maybe 40 ppl if all the seating was available as well as a bar area. The woman who helped me was very nice, greeted me, took my order and brought me my food within 20mins. I'd give the noodles a 5/10. They were a little dry and the green onion was in large cuts throughout the dish which I didn't enjoy. I probably wouldn't go back for that dish but I'd be willing to try more. The stars are for the service and food quality overall.

We came to Thai Palace for do with some friends. We were immediately seated and place our appetizer and drink order. We had the vegetable spring rolls for our appetizer. The egg rolls were cooked to perfection and was served fresh! For our food we ordered the Thai beef and the red curry chicken. Both were made exceptionally well. We ordered the Tokyo Tea and my wife had a Long Island Tea. Both were made very well and strong. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Thai palace is the place for tasty Thai dishes. Stop by and give them a try. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Amazing place! Tried the Pad Se Ew Beef, Shrimp Fried Rice, Coconut Tom Kha, Beef Pad Pineapple and everything was amazing! The best Thai food I've tasted in the area, hands down! Also enjoyed some hot sake ( $14 for a large carafe). Prices in general were on the lower side, most dishes were $17. Ample parking outside, very clean establishment, low lighting, not very big, but also doesn't feel cramped. My server was good, it's easy to flag them down since the building isn't that large : if you need someone, and they also had another person going around asking if you needed anything, so I never felt like I was being ignored. Overall great experience, will be back!

I've always seen this place in Waldorf but have never tried it and I'm so glad I finally did. The ambiance was quiet and it's not a huge restaurant but that's okay, I like the small homey feel. The service was on point also. My server was prompt, accurate and friendly. I was solo but there were a few small groups and some folks sitting at the bar. They had some good throwback R&B jams playing while the basketball game was on. My food was delicious!! I started with the spring rolls. They were piping hot and super crispy which I loved. I got the pad see ew with beef. I recently got into Thai food and I've only tried one other place but Thai Palace beats it by a long shot. The beef was tender and the portion was more than generous. I had leftovers for the next day. Also, beware of the spice levels. Their level 1 spice is equivalent to level 3 at other restaurants. I got a 0.5 spice level which was flavorful but not spicy. They also have a very extensive drink menu. I got the blueberry lemon drop which was really good and you could actually taste the alcohol. I'll be back to try more drinks and dishes soon. The prices are also reasonable considering the portions and quality. I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for some good, authentic Thai food at a reasonable price.

The space itself is huge and they do a lot of hosting for bands which I'm sure is a good time. The bar is a wrap around seating at least 20-30 and at the time of our arrival the bar was full and the main seating area only had one occupied table. The inside is lowly lit and the music was great, definitely a vibe in there and I can understand how despite their reviews they have a solid patron base. We ordered: Strawberry Lemon Drop - 10/10 no notes Calamari - 8/10 - great texture but a small portion at that price point. I prefer mine with a remoulade and they only serve it with sweet chili sauce. They had remoulade with the catfish nuggets but when I asked the waitress she said remoulade was the salad. When I tried to explain that no it was a sauce she just said they didn't have it......ok. Deviled eggs with crab - 8/10 - they were ok. The eggs were a little overcooked to my liking but they were horrible. Wings - 10/10 - sweet and spicy, great crunch. Crabbed stuffed salmon - 6/10 - came with two sides and he got rice and spinach. It was just ok but at $42 you wanted it to wow you. There is an automatic 18% gratuity regardless your party size so that's something to look out for. Overall it was a bit overpriced to my liking for a location that's not more like a local bar than anything. I would definitely come back for more wings and Backyard but might opt for the bar instead.

But I love y'all, so I'm going to put y'all on game. Admittedly, this spot does not look like much from the outside...but you know what they say about judging a book by its cover. It's definitely giving cabaret venue vibes (IYKYK), so I really wasn't sure what to expect. But this whole experience was a delightfully pleasant surprise. Our server Kamaria was absolutely wonderful. She has such amazing energy and we felt so welcomed. She recommended some of her favorite items from the a la carte menu, then invited us to proceed to the buffet. We decided to get an order each of the honey butter biscuits a la carte and now I got questions. I just want to know whose grandmother they have back there in that kitchen making them biscuits like that. Because those were some of THE best damn biscuits I've ever had. Easily the best biscuits I've had in the DMV. They were huge! Fluffy and chewy with a generous glazing of that absolutely divine honey butter. If you get nothing else from here, you NEED those biscuits. The buffet didn't look like it had much going on but again, looks are deceiving in this place. There were so many delicious options to choose from. Scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, bacon (both pork and turkey), shrimp and grits, chicken alfredo, jerk chicken wings, fried chicken wings, peach cobbler, sweet potatoes and a few other things I can't remember. If you didn't find anything you liked on this buffet, you were either vegan or just not hungry forreal. Every single thing that we ate was delicious. The jerk wings were perfectly cooked and had a nice kick to em. The fried wings were fried perfectly: crispy but not too hard, and seasoned just right. The chicken alfredo was probably my favorite. I don't think this place did anything particularly innovative or special with it, it was just delicious and well made. The sweet potatoes and peach cobbler were good but both could have used just a little bit more sweetening. I absolutely loved the shrimp and grits! Those grits were thick and creamy and the shrimp and sauce had a nice Cajun flare: a little kick and a whole lot of flavor. I'm not a pork eater so I was delighted at the turkey bacon. It was the thick cut bacon too! None of them skinny, scrawny strips. Oh, and of course there were bottomless mimosas. Kamaria made sure that our glasses stayed full. This spot offers three different kinds of juice for the mimosa: orange, pineapple, and I think the last one is cranberry. We both got the pineapple and we were not disappointed. There's also a DJ at brunch. He definitely helped set a vibe but what I really appreciate it is that the music wasn't too loud so we could enjoy it but still enjoy our conversation as well. This is easily my new favorite brunch spot. Good vibes, great food, bottomless drinks, no reservations... And no driving around the block dozens of times looking for a parking space. What more could a girl ask for?
