Came here for a dinner with the family. Parking lot located directly in front of the restaurant. The dining room has about 10-12 tables and a full bar area as well. The restaurant also appeared very clean. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and came to the table to take our drink orders, then came back for our meals. We were all pretty hungry so we knew what we wanted. I ordered the pad Thai, of course (I've never tried two pad Thai meals that tasted the same). The others in my party ordered lo mein and added beef and shrimp. Our food came within 10 minutes and was very hot. I enjoyed my meal and everyone else enjoyed their food as well. This was a great chill spot for a family meal and we will definitely be back. Kaow Thai was easily accessible for my mom, who uses a wheelchair. We were able to use the wheel ramp in front of the restaurant to get her inside. Accessibility is at the top of our list when deciding where to eat as a family, so I really appreciated that. read more

We stopped by after a Drs appointment to see if this place was as good as I remembered. It was. We appeared to have the whole place to ourselves which led me to think that take out and DoorDash maybe where their popularity now lies the service has always been very friendly. For food we started with Spring rolls and curry puffs there was a chill outside so each tried a soup mom tofu and seaweed and Tom Kha with chicken and no tomatoes my soup while good felt like it was missing something. The curry puffs were so good! But the best dish was what I came for the drunken fried rice it packed the right amount of heat I ordered medium and the rice was perfectly cooked. We love this place. It's been a while since we have eaten here maybe 12 months or so. The food is always delicious however tonight when we came into the restaurant it had a strong smell. We could not get past the smell to enjoy our food so we did not order. I would highly recommend that management check the P-trap or the S traps. We definitely want to come back. This place has been a staple for Yeaaars since moving to the area in 2017ish. They're probably my favorite Thai spot. Very reliable service. I know i'll usually get the best foods/quality foods ordering from there especially compared to what I try to cook at home their chefs are excellent and are one with the culture of their cuisine. I'm grateful I get to experience a glimpse of their culture whenever I order! I just finished eating the mango and sticky rice, along with the tofu/vegetable drunken noodles. I have left overs which is great! I'm very full. Great value and high quality. The vegetable rolls were hot and crispy. I recommend picking up in person or dining in for that fresh off of the stove experience. Amazing people, valuable restaurant, excellent service. The ambiance, dimly lit. I think they have performances depending on the evening, but I'm not too sure. Maybe I'll perform over there one night I'm sure Saturday nights dining in is such a romantic experience, or cozy for family if you'd like to bring your family and friends. Visited for the first time this evening. started with spring rolls and dumplings for appetizers. They were very tasty. The spring rolls are crunchy and came with the sweet-and-sour sauce while the dumplings came with something that looked like soy sauce, but it was slightly sweet, as well as salty. Thai Fried Rice: What do you think about the dish? The flavor was top tier and the chicken was in big pieces so it was easy to find. Everything was seasoned, it was very good. I was delighted by how well the pineapple fried rice came out. All the flavors were delicate and texture is subtle. The onions were lightly sautéed and had a gentle crispness and tomatoes in the same vein. Service and the atmosphere is top notch, lots of attention and our seating preference was granted. Something was up with the tap tonight but 60 minute IPA saved the day. The california roll was very good, though not as crunchy good nonetheless. The fire roll was light on spiciness, but fresh and beautiful without a doubt. Shout out to this local restaurant's support for the Port Tobacco Players. I don't have photos of my food for once! We got this as a quick takeout meal on a long day and I devoured it once I got home. The curry is some of the best I've had in a long time - I live in southern Maryland and the options are mediocre at best but this really stood out. Both the massamun and red curry were flavorful. The Thai fried rice was also excellent. My only complaint is the small side of white rice for two curry entrees, I feel as though we should have received another side. I have eaten here about ten times. The food is very yummy. I've also taken to go. I do recommend the restaurant if you are eating in. Nothing has ever tasted bad at this restaurant. I love the curries, the sautéed eggplant is very good. Pad Thai is very good. My only complaint is that sometimes you have to wait a little bit because the staff is shirt. I needed an evening bite to eat while I was in town and I was pleasantly surprised to find such a great Thai place on the road. I ordered the fried spring rolls. It comes with 4 and sauce. They were hot and delicious! Loved the crunch and how packed they were. I also ordered the pad see eaw. The picture doesn't do it justice at all! It was really good! It lacked a little bit of sauce which I enjoy with this dish and the chicken was a little dry which is why I gave it 4 stars. I've loved this place for quite some time now! All of the food I've ever gotten has been so flavorful. My favorite is the drunken noodle with chicken followed by a mango sticky rice for dessert. The spice, followed by something sweet, is the perfect combination! Alcoholic drinks have been hit or miss, but I've found if you tell them exactly what you want, with the amounts, it comes out perfect. If you dine in, expect to be there for a little while. This place isn't fast, so I would recommend visiting when you have good company, or order to go and pick up. I have kids that are VERY picky, but they still love the satay chicken with steamed rice and french fries from the kids menu. read more

We were put on hold for 20 minutes, and the phone was still off the hook when we got all the way to the restaurant. Then the woman there proceeds to ignore us after telling her what happened. This is the same server that acted like she couldn't be bothered last time we ate in. We love the food but the service is terrible every time we go. I have given this restaurant plenty of business for years. This recent time on 10/6/22, I ordered and paid for the Asparagus Stir Fry with Shrimp, crispy spring rolls and it automatically comes with rice. Once I get home, my order is incorrect and they gave me Asparagus Stir Fry with Chicken. Once I called and notified the restaurant, the employee who took my order was rude with an attitude as I asked for new spring rolls since my meal would be cold when I drove the 15 minutes back home. Initially she said they can give me new rice (of course because it's free) rather than the spring rolls I paid for. Then she proceeds to say she needs to confirm the order didn't contain chicken and not shrimp. Not customer service at all, considering this establishment made a mistake, cost me money and time driving back to their restaurant. Overall, the manager was more professional upon giving me my refund. Will not return here again. Authentic Thai food in La Plata. My friend and I got 3 meals, 2 Thai iced tea, and 3 drinks. They all came out nice and delicious. The server was very nice and polite. We enjoy eating at Kaow Thai, we have limited options here in this area and it's nice to have a decent Thai option down here. The food and service have be consistently good. I ordered the pad Thai dinner portion and did not expect it to be so huge. Definitely enough for leftovers. Great spot for small or large parties. Spoiled and rotten tasting. Save your money. I tried Kaow Thai because they deliver, and I didn't feel like driving to my usual place. I ordered 3 pretty standard dishes: spring rolls, Drunken Noodles, and Fried Rice. I was sorely disappointed and disgusted. I waited over an hour to get food that tasted spoiled or was flavorless. Flavorless The Fried Rice was bland. I didn't taste any seasoning at all. I put soy sauce on it and that failed to make it any better. It tasted like white rice someone put vegetables in and then stirred it real quick in oil. No other flavor notes. Nothing. This was the best dish and it was nothingness. Rotten The Drunken Noodles tasted spoiled. The meat seemed ok, but the noodles had a sour, rancid taste at the end. I threw most of my plate away because I couldn't choke it down. The spring rolls smelled like poop and tasted spoiled too. I know there's cabbage in it, but it shouldn't smell and taste bad. I couldn't swallow it. My husband tried it and gagged into the trash. All in all, this was a horrible $60 meal delivery that's ending up in the trash. Save your money. Eat at home next time. read more

Pad Thai flavor and ingredients greatly improved. Highly recommended. The Floating Market noodle soup is an absolute must! Tender beef and meatballs in a rich meaty savory soup with a delightfuly sweet slant, just right, with yummy noodles and bean sprouts. A MUST on a cold day or ANY day! The portion is VERY generous so we find we need to take some home. That's how generous the portions are. Tried the Sushi for the first time today and I was very happy that I did. The Lucky Roll Sushi was huge, delicious, and crunchy! I'm going to try another on my next visit which may be tomorrow. Service is exceptional and it has a comforting ambiance with no bright lights. Tom Yum soup was excellent, it was fresh and flavorful and as aromatic as I've ever had. For my entree I have the Thai Roasted Chicken...it was exceptional and very satisfying. The chicken was crispy and the outside, moist and tender on the inside and have many levels of flavor.
