Buffet plate #1
Rob C.

We had a family and friends meal. It was kinda middle of the day so I wasn't expecting much on quality or service but I was mistaken. All of the food that I tried was fresh, even the sugar rolls which for some reason are always tough at other places. I don't know that I had a favorite but I did have more than my share of wings and mussels. The sweet tea was really good. I wish they left a pitcher with me. I did enjoy the string beans. It was the only vegetable that I ate. I didn't want to fill up on healthy stuff. I eat fast and I think that allows me to eat so much before I go home and fall into a food coma. Because of that, I was only able to snap a photo of #1 & #4. I was in too deep to photograph 2 & 3. Service was really good and they kept up with all of the drink request even with us filling up 3 tables and it was only 2 ppl. Granted they only had to provide drinks but we were drinking like it was an open bar for 1hr. If you have a group and want buffet setup, I would suggest this place. I didn't even try the hibachi but you should. Let me know when you do.

Fantastic! I ordered the #4 combo to go (crab legs, clams, sausage, shrimp, potatoes and corn) and…read morea couple of appetizers on the side (hush puppies and crab egg rolls). Everything was delicious. The combo boil was basting in their special crab boat signature sauce and with medium heat. The seasoning was on point and very good. I also really enjoyed the crispy hush puppies and the crab filled egg roll. There wasn't a disappointing bite in the entire meal. I'll definitely be back to order from there again!

I placed an order for pickup and when I got to the restaurant and received my order, I didn't realize until I got in my car to check to make sure the order was correct to discover it wasn't. The crazy thing is I ordered the 2 fried crab cakes with coleslaw; however, they gave us French fries. I also ordered the 5 whole wings with fries, and 2 sweet teas. I went back and told them they gave me fries with the crabcakes versus cole slaw. Which should have been something simple like give me the cole slaw, the manager insisted I bring the food back into the restaurant so they can take the fries out and exchange them for the cole slaw. Now maybe I think differently than others, but why would you insist...well demand that I bring food back so you can REMOVE what you mistakenly placed in my order. I thought wait I've taken this food outside it's in my car and you're demanding I bring it back so you can remove the fries that you're going to trash (or are you)? The fact that she didn't see anything wrong with this is a problem, so instead of giving me the coleslaw I simply returned the entire order and got my $55.00 back. She would rather refund me $55.00 versus giving me a side of coleslaw as the mistake wasn't on my part but theirs. Needless to say, I will never patronize this business again, because it makes me wonder how many others have returned their food because their order was wrong and seriously what did they do with that returned food?

Only been to the new location in La Plata maybe once since they moved here. I stopped coming because I didn't like how they fried the fish. The coating isn't nice and crispy. It's too light and just flakes off. Anyway, my family and I decided to order from here tonight 3-30-26. I ordered two croaker baskets and a jumbo shrimp basket. Placed my order at 5:07 pm. This was after standing in a long line. Walked down to Giant to make a purchase and then came back to my food still not ready. Finally decided to ask after sitting here for 20 minutes! How about the order was never put in! How the heck is that possible when I paid and have the receipt. Watched people that ordered after me get their food and leave. Here it is 5:56 pm and I still don't have my food! They said they put it in and it will be out soon. Several other orders have come out and I'm still sitting here! I tired to give y'all another chance. No apology or offer of anything. Yeah I'm pretty sure I won't be back! Do better! Oh finally got my food at 6pm. Carlita the cashier was the only one that really acknowledged what happened. Where's the manager! She should have come out to offer an apology. Smh.

I love a server who doesn't hover but always checks to see if everything is going well. She def rocked! I have been so excited to get on and share how incredible this place is since we left. My husband asked if I wanted to go back, within the week. This is *UNHEARD* of. I don't know if he has ever loved a restaurant so quickly and so MUCH. He's been craving seafood boils for a few days now, so he suggested we go this afternoon. We went around 3-4pm. The crowd was minimal, but still, there were probably 15-20 tables full. It's a nice sized restaurant , about the size of a "pub"/local dive bar. The hostess was really welcoming (no eye rolling or impatience!!). She greeted us with a smile and a kind gesture and promptly sat us in a booth. The entire restaurant was clean, whimsical and smelled like old bay and garlic. Great art and seafood accoutrements all over the walls and booths The music was 2000s R&B and couldn't have been more perfect. Our server was incredible. We were given two very easy to understand menus and a "basket" of popcorn! It tasted like movie theater popcorn , our cups which were paper cups and a paper table cloth which lent to the "crab house" vibe we love so much, "seafood sauce" (mayo based siracha sauce think, with old bay? - it's like a spiced Big Mac sauce), clarified butter, cocktail sauce, gloves, a garbage pail, crab cracker tools and plastic silverware, and wet wipes and bibs (which I used because of course I visited in a white shirt!) After no more than a 10-15 minute wait, we had our boils "Rocked and Tossed" right to the table!! Seasoning 100% covered everything!! We ordered: Freshly brewed, 1/2&1/2 sweet/unsweetened tea. (It was very reminiscent of Chick-Fil-A tea/McDonald's tea...the good kind!) Not overly iced. So delicious!! Husband: 1 combo boil with snow crab legs, sausage and extra corn, (comes with corn and potatoes), garlic seasoning and medium heat. His garlic sauce smelled to die for. Very well rounded, (I tasted it). It had sliced garlic in it and wasn't too salty at all. The medium heat wasn't too hot, but don't take my word for it, get the heat level you like. His crab legs pulled *perfectly*. The sausage was wonderfully Smokey with that crispy/crunchy edge. The corn was tender and juicy, not overly cooked and the potatoes melted like butter. Me: 1 combo boil with snow crabs and crawfish and added hard boiled eggs (also comes with corn and potatoes), "Rocking Bomb" seasoning (old bay, garlic, lemon pepper, Cajun). *I have never had crawfish THIS good in my entire life.* I genuinely cannot describe the euphoria I had with words, but I'll try. They weren't muddy/fishy. They absorbed the flavors so well, yet preserved the firm but tender texture of the meat. They were very easy to break into, just like the crab legs. Nothing got stuck or jammed. The eggs were a balanced addition, soaking up all that awesome flavor. I ate one half way through and the second at the end. Again, nothing was abnormally fishy. Seafood can, at times, taste a little too oceanic. Everything came out piping hot, but not so hot you couldn't tear right into it. Both boils were nice and buttery. We tried using the gloves but ended up tossing them. They have sinks right in the open so it is easy to get up and wash up if you get too messy. (The bathrooms are on the smaller side - with the women being two stalls, and I didn't see any others, so the extra sinks really come in handy). There was a very kind gentleman bussing tables. He was fast and thorough. He was very pleasant to us as we walked by him. Very courteous!!! If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Literally nothing was bad. I cannot wait to go back and hope they stay in business for a millennia to come. I believe we found THE best seafood boil restaurant in all of Maryland!!

As I started to eat, I noticed I only received 1 cluster and a 2 tiny loose legs in the bag. When I brought it to the server's attention, the manager came over and tried to tell me that the 2 small loose legs counted as a second cluster. Instead of acknowledging the mistake and making it right, she went back and forth with me in front of my 6-year-old child while attempting to put her finger in my bag to count the 2 little loose legs out to me. I've been coming here for over a year, and I have never received 1 cluster and a 2 tiny legs that would count as a full pound. A full pound should come with 2 full clusters. The customer service and professionalism during this situation were very disappointing. I usually never complain but I felt this was much needed. Unfortunately, this experience has made me decide not to return. Rock and Toss just lost a loyal customer. Don't come here unless you want to get less than what you paid for!

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and finally got my chance. I got there around…read more2:00. It wasn't very busy, maybe two tables. Since I was alone, I just sat at the bar. It's a small restaurant in a shopping center very nicely decorated. My server Elmer greeted me right away with water and a menu. He explained that everything is homemade, even the desserts. The menu isn't huge, but it has a good variety across the board. I looked at the specials first l, I wish my wife had been with me because the salad special sounded great and we usually split one. The entrée specials also sounded really good. I was already thinking to myself I'd probably be back if this meal was solid. I usually order chicken parm when I go out for Italian, but I wanted to switch it up, so I went with the lasagna. Elmer told me I'd enjoy it and said the noodles and sauce were very good. Someone brought out bread with a garlic and oil mix. The bread was excellent crunchy outside, soft inside. The garlic and oil was good, but I'm more of a butter guy. I like a lot of butter on my bread, especially bread like that. When the lasagna came out, it looked amazing. The person who brought it asked if I wanted Parmesan cheese. I said no thanks I don't like changing the flavor unless I taste it first and feel like it needs it. First bite.....Excellent. The sauce had a lot of flavor, the noodles were tender, and there were a lot of layers had to be six or seven. Not like some places where you get three or four and mostly cheese. I ate the whole thing and used the bread to clean the plate. Elmer and the other servers kept checking in to see if I needed anything. I like seeing that kind of teamwork where everyone helps out, not just their own tables. Makes for a better experience and you're never waiting around if you need something. When I finished, Elmer asked if I wanted some of the "apple cobber." Funny thing -- when I first looked at the dessert menu, I noticed that typo and wondered if that was really the name. I asked him about it and he said it was a mistake and hadn't even noticed. I was surprised no one caught it before. I asked for the cobbler to go, but he actually recommended the tiramisu instead, so I took his suggestion. Later that evening I tried it and it was superb. Even my wife, who doesn't like coffee, liked the bite I gave her. While we were talking, Elmer gave me a sample of their espresso martini. I'm not big on cold coffee drinks, but it was actually pretty good. Definitely something I'd order there. Overall, one of the best Italian meals and service I've had and I'll definitely be back. I just wish it was closer to home if they opened up in Prince Frederick in Calvert County, I think they'd do great. Right now all we really have is Ledos Pizza
