My husband and I recently visited The Tpot, and overall I'd give it 4 stars. The concept is fun and different. It's an all-you-can-eat experience where the food is brought to your table and you cook it yourself. The service was the highlight of our visit. Our server was wonderful, the hostess was welcoming and full of personality, and another staff member even stopped by to make sure we were being helped. That level of attentiveness is rare and appreciated. We ordered quite a variety, including squid, shredded chicken, shredded beef, shrimp, rolled beef, top steak, and several sushi selections. Most of the food was good, and everything arrived promptly. The sushi was decent, though not quite as fresh as I expected. I was also surprised that the top steak came as small cubes rather than a steak portion. The biggest disappointment was the no take-home policy. As first-time visitors, we didn't realize how much food would come with some of our orders and ended up leaving a significant amount behind. It's frustrating to see good food go to waste after you've already paid for the meal. The restaurant itself could use some updating. Several booth seats were worn and cracked, with foam showing through the upholstery. At $32-$37 per person, the dining area should feel a little more refreshed. For drinks, I had the Lychee Martini, which was weaker than expected, and my husband tried one of the Ocean cocktails and thought it was just average. He ended up ordering his usual tequila shot and a beer afterward. The drinks weren't bad, but they didn't live up to the rave reviews we had read beforehand. Overall, we enjoyed the experience, especially because of the excellent service and unique dining concept. With a few updates and some reconsideration of the leftover food policy, this could easily be a 5-star experience. read more

The food here is good, it's well worth the price. The ambiance is also very good, this restaurant was a hit when it originally opened for good reasons. However the service is absolutely terrible and only declining. Pace yourself when you're drinking whatever drink you ordered because the chance of you catching your waiter to get another one will be almost non existent. Mostly teenagers are employed here which is good for the work experience but they are too busy on their cell phones to check on their tables. Even when the restaurant is empty you will still not receive service. You will watch your waiter pacing back and forth on their phone longer than you will spend drinking your water/soda. I used to come here once a week but the service has deterred me so much that at most I come once a month and each time I come it's getting worse and worse. I've had to pull the manager up on shift one time to ask for a simple refill because my waiter was too busy on the phone. I'm usually a great tipper, 25% or more, here I simply give 18% because most visits I sit for 30+ minutes with nothing to drink and zero way besides walking up to the waiter to get their attention since their phones are so close to their face it's touching their noses. This was my 3rd experience with Korean BBQ like this and my first at T Pot. Anthony was our server and he was great but my husband and I found the ordering process overwhelming and did not expect to cook our own food. In our first round of orders, our meats were odd "fruit roll-up" looking items with no flavor/ seasonings (stay away from the mystery meat meatballs!), that kept sticking to the hot plate, despite the oil we used. With the second round we realized, all the seasonings are at the sides bar but it felt odd to take bottles of seasoning to our table and putting it in dishes, was a lot too! We tried the sushi (just ok), and some of the Bulgogi meats which were seasoned in our second round, but they also stuck to the fire plate. They tasted better than our first choice of meats. The appetizer bar had a lot of variety but everything just tasted The soup but the broths weren't that flavorful to us. I had to do a lot to make it taste like something. We didn't realize our burners weren't on for a while and when they were turned on, they were on high, making the soup too hot. All in all I'd say the amount and variety of food you get is good for the price ($38 pp) but honestly I go out to eat, because I don't want to cook, and this defeats the purpose. I think the server did a good job explaining how to order but felt other things could have been explained more (about the seasonings,burners and hot plates) and he checked in on us frequently. All the food options are displayed on the tablet, and there are lots of veggies and items to go in the hot pots to customize your soups but again, overwhelming. We will not be back but this just isn't our "cup of tea". Resturant is clean, bright with neon lights and most of the staff were friendly and very helpful. read more

Recently drove up from VA as we are big hot pot fans and really liked our first visit. Wait was way quicker than quoted and service was attentive and friendly. Using the iPad to order is super easy and allows you to pace your food. Items in the buffet were great for quick grab and tasty! Multiple types of kimchi! My only complaint is how sweet some of the marinades are for items that are typically not sweet when you get directly from a Korean restaurant (bulgogi, spareribs were two here that were extremely sweet). This was our first TPot experience. We got there early cause we thought they opened at 11. They actually open at 12. We were worried about going to a restaurant and having to cook our on food. We actually enjoyed the experience. It was great from the time we walked in until the time we left. The service was top notched. She was patient with us and explained everything very well. We went after Christmas so it felt good since seeing the Christmas decoration up all over the restaurant. The lunch menu is similar to the dinner menu. The food was okay. I had a party of 6, 5 adults and 1 child. My check showed 6 adults and 1 child. After informing the server my check had 7 people instead of 6 on it I was harassed and told we had 7 people This harassment went on until I remembered having the server take a picture of us. Once the picture was presented to the front staff they realized we only had 6 people. The aggression and harassment was uncalled for. I will never visit this establishment again. I am not sure if the restaurant is having financial problems or not but they seemed a little too pressed for more money. My check was $300. It felt like it was microaggression. While I absolutely love sushi, it is not a Korean specialty. Their sushi is somewhat bland and the rice is over or undercooked most of the time. The menu selection is pretty much the same as any other Korean BBQ/Hot Pot location. Nothing spectacular about it, nothing really stands out. The food isn't bad, the spicy bulgogi definitely has a kick to it but I tend to be pretty particular when it comes to most Asian foods. I've had Korean BBQ from other restaurants in the area and this one just barely misses the mark. Korean Firepan is, in my opinion, the best one in the area. My family and I came for dinner, we had skye as our server and the service was horrible. We had to ask several times about our orders. We waited over 30mins for a drink that never came out. The full experience was horrible. I work in the food service myself and I understand we all want to go home but to provide service like this was unacceptable. There are 3 options for all you can eat: sushi, hotpot, and bbq. You get 1 choice for the entire table. All options come with the smaller appetizer section, but each of the options has specific menus on the dinner menu that it encompasses. We chose bbq and enjoyed spicy pork belly, beef bulgolgi, boneless pork ribs, and t pot spare ribs. We loved the marinades and the sides/dessert bar. We came to try out Tpot as we heard it was relatively new. Our server was great in explaining everything, and in helping us when needed. And we definitely needed her help. After ordering in the tablet as instructed 90% of everything we ordered never came out. After 30 minutes we let her know and she was able to rush it out, which is very helpful in a restaurant that does a time limit. Once the items came out we had no issues, I would definitely recommend the hot pot and the sushi. The Korean bbq was just okay and there are better Korean bbq in the DMV area. Rather than having a menu that lets you just do 1 option or all 3 it would be great if they started a 2 option for a separate price. T Pot is very new to my area and I am so happy after 20 plus years in St. Charles County I may not have to go to Northern Virginia or DC to have delicious or diversity in restaurant options. It is too expensive! Everyone at the table had to order the same thing. But we have some people that have food restrictions and a vegetarian at our party. Also, they count kids 10 and under,every other restaurant has 12 and under. Meaning my 11 year old was counted as an adult. She couldn't eat that much food, but we had to pay.Our waitress was good and the food was fine but the bill was too much for no reason. Servers do not offer to cook your food (other kbbq's & hotpot we've been to usually offer) 3. The "hottest"'was not very spicy 4. Ventilation!!! We were seated in the corner and were sweating not sure how but we were HOT! 5. The meats were okay.. kinda confusing (other places give you a limit of at least 3 and choose more) We've been to other hotpots & kbbq in VA/Northern MD PROS: 1. They have too many rules. I was with a group of friends and whatever one of us ordered the others had to do the same (two box or three). We had one person who wanted the sushi but in order to get it they must order the 3 box, which means everyone in our party must order the 3 box, which is about $10 difference. They charges you $14.99 for food you requested but did not consume, per person (to reduce waste). You can not bring home leftovers (Understand for all you can eat). We had someone in our party with special dietary needs and they just wanted one appetizer, but you can not just order appetizers without the meal. There are two other Korean restaurants within a 3 minute,yes 3 minutes drive to this place (Bonchon and fire pan Korean barbecue). Of all the hot pot and kkbq spots I've been to this was very.. different. Our wait time kept getting extended 20+ mins. The buffet concept made me feel like I was clocked in working there myself. The staff only drops the meats. You put it on the grill, you get the ban chan and sauces yourself at the buffet bar. Meat quality and marinades were underwhelming.
