    8 Piece Crab Roll
    Marisela K.

First time trying this place and it was pretty okay, nothing special nothing exciting. I ordered the crab roll and I think what was missing was some sauce. Maybe yum yum sauce could've made it A LOT better. But other than that it was okay.

Ok, if you are hardcore foodie, this may not be the place for you. But considering we're talking about Clinton, MD here, I think Japan Express hits the spot! There isn't even an OPTION for sushi/japanese food for miles. Now, I actually don't like sushi, so I've only tried their hibachi meals and other items on the menu. From the outside, it looks like your typically corner chinese food place, but it's better than that. I had the seaweed salad, which is my measuring stick for any japanese restaurant. I loved it, just as good as most others I've tried. I tried the teryaki chicken roll, I really enjoyed that. It's their teryaki chicken, rolled in rice and seaweed. Thumbs up! I had the teryaki chicken with fried rice and veggies. It's not as good as real live hibachi restaurant, food cooked in front of you, but it was yummy. The rice was well cooked and flavorful, the chicken was sauced up nicely. Wish there were more veggies, but how many ppl like veggies as much as I do?? ;-)

My favorite place! Fast, great service! Amazing food! The cooks always get my order right. Also, when they say ," it will be ready in 10 minutes." It it ready on time.

Nice quick sit down spot for some sushi and Asian cuisines. My kids and I recommend the Hawaii Roll / Black Dragon Roll for those wanting to try something new. Fresh white tuna was excellent sashimi...

8 piece Rainbow Roll $8.95, 8 piece Clinton Roll $11.95, 5 piece Shrimp Tempura Roll $4.99, and 8 piece Spicy Crunch Salmon Roll $5.25.

The Friendly, Fort Washington, Clinton area does not have multiple sushi options for people attempting to stick within a budget. Locals either go into National Harbor, D.C., or make the drive up North. Well, until I discovered this little hole in the wall through Yelp's Current Location option! From the outside, Japan Express appears to be a carry out hibachi set up but they offer quite a decent sushi selection! California, Shrimp Tempura, Rainbow, and even a Clinton roll are all available for guests to enjoy. A California roll for $4.29 or a Rainbow roll for $8.95 are great options if you are craving sushi but don't want to break the bank. Since the establishment serves carry out guests more often than dine in guests, the interior leaves room for improvement. Booths and tables are available but are not consistently cleaned allowing some sticky spots to remain on the tables and floors throughout the day. Orders are completed at a counter and guests are to collect their meals at the counter upon completion; do not expect dine in, sit down, waited service because it is not that type of restaurant. Alcohol choices such as wine and/or beer are also not available but guests can select bottled beverages or a fountain drink option to accompany the meal. While this may not be your spot to show off for guests or date night, Japan Express is an excellent way to eat what you crave without significantly impacting your bank account.

    Chicken teriyaki

This Japanese restaurant has a great selection of healthy foods. I had the chicken teriyaki and it was delicious. It comes with plenty of cabbage, broccoli, fried rice/steamed rice and chicken or beef. The rice isn't dry and the chicken has just the right amount of sauce.

I guess to save money, pack all the sushi in the small container shrimp tempura

Must admit the food here is quite tasty & fresh!!…read more This spot definitely has become of my "go-to"s" when in this area. The food is fast, quick, and offers a good variety of menu items to mix in to the fold when it comes to looking for fast-casual places offering healthy options--like fresh vegetable and decent proteins. The menu is mostly comprised of hibachi eats, but surprisingly.....this place offers Pho and Noodle dishes as well. In similar fashion to Chipotle but just on an Asian fare tip....you walk down an assembly line of options starting with noodle/rice choices and assemble your bowl of delicious, healthy veggies, proteins and toppings. Place like this is my kind of playground. It gives you a chance to change things up every now and then......from the same old....same ole! On this day I came here and got a steak and jumbo shrimp bowl that was everything! The proteins were seasoned and packed with flavor. The veggies were cooked just right.....from the cabbage, carrots , pickled onions and mushroom toppings. Not to mention the portions were quite hefty....more than I can say than similar places like this that serves similar format....and we all know who I am referring to. In all, I always enjoy coming here. The customer experience and service is top notch. Not to mention, the food quality and fast has been pretty consistent and has not missed the mark! The establishment is always clean and the food stations are spotless. The vibe is very casual and laid back, with lots of dining space if you decided to eat-in but I notice this location is mostly take out. SakuraGo gets a "Thumbs Up" in my book and I recommend! It's definitely worth a visit when in this area. *ELITE TIP: Join the rewards program Lots of perks, deals, discounts and a cool way to earn a free meal.....and who doesn't like that!! :-)

Every order will come "to-go" style. You will have to pour your own boiling water broth into the bowl. The broth was bland, watered down and missing the typical rich pho flavor. And the noodles were overly starchy and chewy. In a typical pho restaurant, they will blanch the pho noodles in the broth to get rid of that. In this case, the cook took the dry noodles out of the bag and plopped it into a "to-go" bowl. I am Vietnamese and used to work in an authentic pho restaurant in San Jose. Don't expect traditional experience here. Oh, and Mexican ranchero music was blasting, nothing wrong with that, just a little unexpected The employees there were super nice.

Some of our favorite menu items include the sukiyaki shabu shabu, lobster roll, wagyu foie spoons, A5 Japanese Wagyu sandwich, Wagyu fried rice, toro sashimi and the matcha crepe cheesecake. What we really enjoyed about this place was the quality and speed of service. You could see the marbling in the buttery toro and fatty A5. We had an extra side tray to put all of our empty dishes. Highly recommend keeping an eye out on the tablet timer so you can constantly reorder once the queue clears. I'll definitely be back to try some of their à la carte menu items. First off, if you miss the parking lot, it was a bit confusing so we ended up making a circle before finding the additional parking lot further before the restaurant, but we did end up parking in the lot next to the restaurant. Getting in and out of that space was not easy with that annoying red light right at the corner. When we walked in, we were greeted right away. Asked if we had reservations which we didn't but they did take a bit of time to seat us. Upon sitting down, we walked by the mini buffet of appetizers and desserts, along with the cooler of drinks. (The cooler was not cold, but held room temperature drinks, I had to ask for cups of ice which took a while) We sat and contemplated if we wanted to splurge on the higher package which we ended up doing any way because our neighbors who were also on a date and was there for the first time was testing the higher package also, so we went all out! There is a limit to how much you order and there is a 10 minute wait in-between each order and how many items you can order. Our server was very helpful and had walked us through the process. The cheesy lobster was so small, we ate it in one bite, and it's only one per table. The wagyu sandwiches were great, but lacked flavor. The creamy udon...was all cream. The best dish on the premium menu were the spoons of wagyu and toro, and the steamed clams in whatever broth. Shabu-Shabu with wagyu was okay. Broth flavor was decent, nothing overly memorable. I did like that it was all you can eat sushi and they had all you can eat Uni which is a plus, but you can tell the quality was not as great as expected. We didn't even bother with the rolls, since it would have limited us from the others, but then I wonder if we would have been better ordering the gazillion sushi roll options. They did great presentation-wise, but would I spend the money on the top package option? No. it was definitely a novelty dinner, something you try one time and say you've tried but maybe my expectations were high because of how I was sold on IG and TikTok. Even my boyfriend was upset with how I talked up the place. To top off the evening, I asked for matcha crepe cake and they brought me match cheesecake. I hate cheesecake. We did enjoy the hot sake! The place was busy and don't get me wrong, it's not horrible but I think I'm more upset for the price I paid for the quality I received. If the service wasn't decent, I would have given it less stars but maybe I came on a bad night and the Chefs were just not loving their cooking. Would I drive the hour and half to go back? Definitely not. I do hope they improve their quality and items. Just my experience here...

The sauce is served at the bottom of the bowl and you mix everything together. The beef with the egg yolk was very good, especially along with the spicy add-on sauce (it was spicy!). The noodles & sauce were excellent; you can order add-ons to the noodle bowls, and they come in separate dishes so you can add on yourself to create different bites, and also share. Each add-on was small and good for 1-2 people to share. Tried umeboshi (sour plum) for the first time and loved it mixed in with noodle or rice. Caution to eating by itself, it'll make you pucker up real quick. Wakame soup was comforting. They also have smaller portion rice bowls, that were plenty filling. I would recommend getting a couple add ons though, as the karrage chicken was good, but rather plain. If you like spicy, you can get it here, but you can also keep it mild. Fun dinner. Kevin was a wonderful server, answered my bunches of questions and was friendly about it. I walked in without expectations and walked out with a memorable experience and getting to try new foods.
