Some of our favorite menu items include the sukiyaki shabu shabu, lobster roll, wagyu foie spoons, A5 Japanese Wagyu sandwich, Wagyu fried rice, toro sashimi and the matcha crepe cheesecake. What we really enjoyed about this place was the quality and speed of service. You could see the marbling in the buttery toro and fatty A5. We had an extra side tray to put all of our empty dishes. Highly recommend keeping an eye out on the tablet timer so you can constantly reorder once the queue clears. I'll definitely be back to try some of their à la carte menu items. The premium menu was plenty, but we did see diners order from the other menu.

First off, if you miss the parking lot, it was a bit confusing so we ended up making a circle before finding the additional parking lot further before the restaurant, but we did end up parking in the lot next to the restaurant. Getting in and out of that space was not easy with that annoying red light right at the corner. When we walked in, we were greeted right away. Asked if we had reservations which we didn't but they did take a bit of time to seat us. Upon sitting down, we walked by the mini buffet of appetizers and desserts, along with the cooler of drinks. (The cooler was not cold, but held room temperature drinks, I had to ask for cups of ice which took a while) We sat and contemplated if we wanted to splurge on the higher package which we ended up doing any way because our neighbors who were also on a date and was there for the first time was testing the higher package also, so we went all out! There is a limit to how much you order and there is a 10 minute wait in-between each order and how many items you can order. Our server was very helpful and had walked us through the process. The cheesy lobster was so small, we ate it in one bite, and it's only one per table. The wagyu sandwiches were great, but lacked flavor. The creamy udon...was all cream. The best dish on the premium menu were the spoons of wagyu and toro, and the steamed clams in whatever broth. Shabu-Shabu with wagyu was okay. Broth flavor was decent, nothing overly memorable. I did like that it was all you can eat sushi and they had all you can eat Uni which is a plus, but you can tell the quality was not as great as expected. We didn't even bother with the rolls, since it would have limited us from the others, but then I wonder if we would have been better ordering the gazillion sushi roll options. They did great presentation-wise, but would I spend the money on the top package option? No. it was definitely a novelty dinner, something you try one time and say you've tried but maybe my expectations were high because of how I was sold on IG and TikTok. Even my boyfriend was upset with how I talked up the place. To top off the evening, I asked for matcha crepe cake and they brought me match cheesecake. I hate cheesecake. We did enjoy the hot sake! The place was busy and don't get me wrong, it's not horrible but I think I'm more upset for the price I paid for the quality I received. If the service wasn't decent, I would have given it less stars but maybe I came on a bad night and the Chefs were just not loving their cooking. Would I drive the hour and half to go back? Definitely not. I do hope they improve their quality and items. Just my experience here...

We both enjoy Japanese food and were interested in trying the house specialty, Abura Soba. We were both pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavor in those noodles! I had the charsu pork and she had chicken. We both ordered edamame beans and cucumber slices to augment the noodles. Abura Soba is tasty and filling. The service was pleasant and efficient and ambiance was modern Japanese diner in look and feel. Kajiken is now an international chain. I'd heard about this style of dish before and had been wanting to try it, so of course I had to! I stopped in on a Monday in the middle of the afternoon, and there were already about 4-5 tables occupied, which I took as a good sign! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and seated promptly. I ordered the Chicken Curry Abura Soba, and this was definitely a hit in my book! It smelled and looked so good that I dug right in as soon as it hit the table (so please excuse the picture lol). The curry flavor was rich and full, the noodles were perfectly chewy, and the chicken was crispy on the outside while still moist on the inside. At first, I only mixed everything together slightly and thought it was delicious. But once I REALLY mixed everything and got all of that sauce from the bottom incorporated throughout the noodles? Completely different flavor experience. So good! I also ordered the pork dumplings as an appetizer. I order pork dumplings pretty often when I go out, and whatever version of them Kanjiken is doing, I really enjoyed it. The texture was giving homemade...I don't know if they actually are, but that's what it gave! Either way, they were good. To drink, I had a bottle of white peach black tea, which was crisp, refreshing, and paired really well with the meal. Overall, I highly recommend Kajiken. In fact, I'm writing this review a few days later and seriously considering heading back there for dinner tonight.

Well Yelp NOVA fam, I'm here to tell you, with a resounding "yes," it can and is, that good. Located in the Belle View shopping center off of Ft. Hunt Road, at first glance, Yido seems like it would be the nondescript cookie cutter themed Asian restaurant. There is a small waiting area/foyer when you walk in, and the interior is adorned with the usual decor of paper Japanese lanterns, fake pink cherry blossom plants, and kitschy wall art. Walked in on a Saturday at 4:30pm thinking it would be easy to snag a table...but I was mistaken. The place was PACKED. The first thing I was asked was whether I had a reservation (at 4:30pm, mind you). Having answered "no," I was escorted to dine at the sushi bar. Since it's in the name of the establishment, I ordered the tonkotsu ramen which is the benchmark by which a ramen place should be judged against. After about 5 min, the steaming bowl of noodles arrived. The dish was visually appealing as a creamy broth was the neutral palatte as yellow corn, sliced red ginger, yellow bamboo shoots, strips of black woodear mushroom, a soft boiled orange-ish egg, and green scallions added pops of color. As with any noodle soup dish, taste the broth before adding any additional seasoning such as the table side chili powder or chili oil. The broth could've been thicker, but it was very flavorful and it was evident that hours of simmering with pork bones had gone into the stock. The noodles had a nice chew without being gummy or overcooked and the slices of char siu pork had a good mix of fat to leaness. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the meal. Service could've been more attentive. It was a Saturday night, so it was busy and I understand that. If you're stitting at the sushi bar, expect the diners seated at tables to get their water faster and for servers to check-in on them more frequently. I can definitely see myself stopping in again to try their other ramen offerings. A bowl of ramen with just water as the beverage with tax and tip was about $19.

The food arrived piping hot, the aroma filled the house, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. If you're choosing between entrées, spend the extra few dollars on the bento box. It comes loaded with a California roll, spring rolls, and a few dumplings. The Yum Yum sauce is the perfect sweet-and-spicy balance and pairs beautifully with the teriyaki. One things is that the shrimp are not abundant so order extra, I think we had about 8 in each order, a bit of a bummer. I was honestly shocked to learn this isn't a sit-down restaurant because the food tastes like a full kitchen crew is back there working magic.
