Momo sushi is a small but quaint sushi place near downtown Alexandria with some of the freshest sushi I've had in a while. I ordered the Hawaiian, the island tuna and veggie roll. Unfortunately I ate too fast for pictures - but as I mentioned the sushi was a delight. The fish was so fresh and flavorful. Our waitress was nice, service was quick, and kept our waters filled. Would go again!!

I love everything about Momo Sushi. They have an extensive menu with so many options for every palette. We particularly loved the sushi special offerings - standouts were the Dragon Roll and the Yami Yami roll. The service is also very quick and attentive. We also decided to do our own little beer tasting and the server happily accommodated our request for extra glasses. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is such a nice and cozy little date night spot or fun dinner spot before going out with friends![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Food excellent. Service is good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is casual.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is a good weeknight spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As another reviewer mentioned, if you sit upstairs your clothes will smell a little smoky, and it must be from the tempura dishes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This why I would not recommend it for date night or as a dinner option before going to your next evening event. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You won't noticed the smell while you hear, but shortly after you get into your car you'll start to notice[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. This makes me just want to get home, and immediately put clothes in washer and take a shower. They offer takeout, and that would be a solid option even if you're going to picnic nearby. This is a great locals type of place, and a few blocks away from King St. Dinning time limited to 1 hour, but that's probably enough time and as long as you're eating/ordering they probably don't mind.

I decided to try this spot for my birthday dinner last minute with my brother and was not disappointed! [[HIGHLIGHT]]When you come inside it's rather small( a REAL hole in the wall spot), but well lit and super clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We dined upstairs and enjoyed watching them prepare the food at the counter.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]So packed on a weekend, so we were lucky to get to be seated after coming from DC.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Old town Alexandria has sushi but nothing like this place, they had outstanding service and fresh food. We both got a Japanese beer, miso soup to start and ordered quite a few rolls to share. Everything was great, came out within 15 minutes of ordering and our server was fantastic. We will be back next time we are in the area to try their lunch specials.

Momo was great! We street parked about 2 blocks away and walked in on a busy weeknight and were able to get seated immediately (lucky.) [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is small, and the restroom is upstairs, so be prepared to climb one flight of stairs (kind of narrow and steep) to use the restroom.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was clean and the server was nice and the food came out fast![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was very cute inside and I'd definitely come back when I'm in town.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First time here and I would deffinitely come back here again. The service was nice and quick and staff were super helpful and sweet. Cute ambiance and decorated and super small place but all old town alexandria store are no different so I'm not surprise. There are two level and group with more than 3 I think are sent upstairs for bigger seating area. There is an a la carte menu which makes it easy to order. Each sashimi can come in 2 pcs and are cut THICK and sushi here is fresh which are two qualities in sashimi that most people look for. Each roll comes in 6 pcs. We order shrimp tempura, 2 pcs of sashimi, spider roll, salmon roll, california rolls... all were delicious and perfect in size. Price were not expensive as well. If you are in Old town, would recommend you to try this place.

High quality fish, really friendly staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great little spot to dine in or take out![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Love that the location is away from the business of king street but still conveniently in old town.

This can't be the same sushi folks wrote five-star reviews for... because I'm not impressed. Maybe it's because I've eaten a lot of sushi in Cali? I'm not sure, but what I do know is that, for $57, I am absolutely not satisfied, and I'm about to offer this food up to anybody desperate for sushi. I'm not going to say this is the worst sushi I've ever had, but it's terrible, especially given the price point. I've never eaten rubbery fish on the top of my rolls, I have now. I ordered online for ASAP. I got to the restaurant and my order wasn't ready. It's fine. The order confirmation came through after I arrived to the restaurant 20 minutes after I placed my order. Oh well. I ordered the White House roll, seaweed salad, roll, and trio amigo roll. I also ordered Gyoza. The only thing that I would consider truly edible is the Geza. These roles have got to go. Slimy fish, small size, and general lack of flavor, I can't. Let me keep it a buck with you. I honestly could have satisfied my sushi craving more with a roll from one of those hibachi places that are popping up all over the place.

I will definitely be back. We ordered 3 roles, miso soup, and tea. Service was good too. Best sushi Ive had in Alexandria.

A friend recommended this spot and a coworker also mentioned this is her go-to sushi joint so I had to check it out--and it did not disappoint! I got the chirashi and everything was so fresh. Also love that they give pretty sizable pieces of fish. Very glad to have found a great sushi spot nearby my new neighborhood. Pretty sure this will be where I get my sushi from now!!

I'm a late-comer to Momo, but now I'm a believer. The place is tiny; even with a small upstairs dining area it's still tiny. But that wasn't a negative here. I came for a weekday lunch so it was busy-ish but not too bad. I perused the options and went with the Kan Sai Roll (ell, salmon skin, avocado, crab, cucumber) plus a side dish. Presentation of the sushi was on point, and I loved the crunchy-ness as much as the taste. Next time - Negiri!

Some of our favorite menu items include the sukiyaki shabu shabu, lobster roll, wagyu foie spoons, A5 Japanese Wagyu sandwich, Wagyu fried rice, toro sashimi and the matcha crepe cheesecake. What we really enjoyed about this place was the quality and speed of service. You could see the marbling in the buttery toro and fatty A5. We had an extra side tray to put all of our empty dishes. Highly recommend keeping an eye out on the tablet timer so you can constantly reorder once the queue clears. I'll definitely be back to try some of their à la carte menu items. The premium menu was plenty, but we did see diners order from the other menu.

First off, if you miss the parking lot, it was a bit confusing so we ended up making a circle before finding the additional parking lot further before the restaurant, but we did end up parking in the lot next to the restaurant. Getting in and out of that space was not easy with that annoying red light right at the corner. When we walked in, we were greeted right away. Asked if we had reservations which we didn't but they did take a bit of time to seat us. Upon sitting down, we walked by the mini buffet of appetizers and desserts, along with the cooler of drinks. (The cooler was not cold, but held room temperature drinks, I had to ask for cups of ice which took a while) We sat and contemplated if we wanted to splurge on the higher package which we ended up doing any way because our neighbors who were also on a date and was there for the first time was testing the higher package also, so we went all out! There is a limit to how much you order and there is a 10 minute wait in-between each order and how many items you can order. Our server was very helpful and had walked us through the process. The cheesy lobster was so small, we ate it in one bite, and it's only one per table. The wagyu sandwiches were great, but lacked flavor. The creamy udon...was all cream. The best dish on the premium menu were the spoons of wagyu and toro, and the steamed clams in whatever broth. Shabu-Shabu with wagyu was okay. Broth flavor was decent, nothing overly memorable. I did like that it was all you can eat sushi and they had all you can eat Uni which is a plus, but you can tell the quality was not as great as expected. We didn't even bother with the rolls, since it would have limited us from the others, but then I wonder if we would have been better ordering the gazillion sushi roll options. They did great presentation-wise, but would I spend the money on the top package option? No. it was definitely a novelty dinner, something you try one time and say you've tried but maybe my expectations were high because of how I was sold on IG and TikTok. Even my boyfriend was upset with how I talked up the place. To top off the evening, I asked for matcha crepe cake and they brought me match cheesecake. I hate cheesecake. We did enjoy the hot sake! The place was busy and don't get me wrong, it's not horrible but I think I'm more upset for the price I paid for the quality I received. If the service wasn't decent, I would have given it less stars but maybe I came on a bad night and the Chefs were just not loving their cooking. Would I drive the hour and half to go back? Definitely not. I do hope they improve their quality and items. Just my experience here...

The set- up and the ambiance is very comfortable and sleek/modern with the main sushi chefs in the middle and the tables around them. The tables have waiters and a tablet at the table like most hot pot/kbbq places and you can order everything off of there. I have only been here once and wanted to try to low tier without going "all in" on the top tier option of diamond without knowing how the basics would taste. Let me say if the bottom tier was as good as it was, I'm excited to come back to try the next tier! Anyway, the basic tier already comes with a lot of sushi options and should be enough for those who are craving just sushi. All of the cuts of nigiri was great, all tender with great flavor, but what stood out to me the most was actually the yellowtail, super buttery and great flavor. The eel was also a top choice! All the rolls were good basic to the fancier ones, I would say that most of the bang for the buck would be the nigiri. The rolls are good but a little too much rice for me personally. The appetizers, didn't spend too much time on them but the chicken karaage was solid and the seaweed salad was my two favorite. Overall, super solid for the price and I'd totally want to go again to try more of their options! 100% recommend!
