I will never go back to Kobe again. I took my father in law from out of town and the waitress sat the entire time on her phone and ignored the group. When we got out reciept there was an AUTOMATIC 20% tip and a recommended tipping amount. The group was 4 people not 8 or 10 or anything crazy and we had to intrerupt the waitress on her phone by walking up to her just for drinks. Wouldn't go back. It's your average sushi spot. We ordered the chef's sampler sashimi along with the Hawaii Roll and Shrimp Tempura Roll (the name is escaping me). Against my better judgment, i shouldn't have ordered the Hawaii Roll -- the mango inside the roll gave me a bit of pause with consistency issue. Additionally, the rice on the sushi seemed gelatinous, like it was cooked too long. I didn't like it. The Tempura Roll was your standard fare. Lastly, while I love sashimi, the tuna offered with the chef's sampler was just ok. The star was the salmon -- buttery and smooth. Service was fine. We sat at the bar. We stopped by Kobe Bar & Grill for sushi and it quickly became one of my top two favorite sushi spots in the area. The selection is solid, and everything we've tried has been consistently fresh and delicious. Service is usually quick, but if you happen to come during a busy time, it can be a bit challenging to flag down a server. That's the one weak spot, the service can be hit or miss depending on how crowded it is. My suggestion: know what you want and order everything at once, just in case it becomes difficult to get someone's attention later. Checking into every single restaurant in the Brandywine and the Waldorf area we made our way to Kobe Bar & Grill. Ooooooh it was packed and we got lucky to get a seat a the bar. Service was slow but they were packed so it was warranted. They could definitely use one more waitress/waiter. Ambiance is super casual! Come dressed regular, no need to dress up. Let's Get Into It! Best Sushi I've had in this area. Went in based on Facebooks - Waldorf Community post about Sushi in the area. This place was mentioned many times and with good reason. Thought I'd have a dish in addition but ended up getting order after order of different sushi and enjoying all of it. Service is a little short staffed but very attentive, food comes quick. Military discount: no Ramen was good but the pork was not edible. It's very tough and I how they switch over to a different cut of meat. When I ask what cut it was they said some part of the shoulder. Sushi was decent. read more

This is hands down my favorite spot for sushi in the area. I always go for the Kobe roll--it's a solid 10/10 and definitely the best roll on the menu. For appetizers, the tango salmon, pan-fried dumplings, and Kobe shrimp are all exceptional and worth trying. The staff is always attentive and friendly, which makes the experience even better. Great service! I have not been here before. On a Thursday night, it was a full crowd with all kinds of patrons of all ages. The bartender greeted us and immediately sat us and ordered our drinks. He's pretty heavy handed, which is great :) The waitress was friendly and accommodating. I just came for some miso soup, a little bit of sushi (Maryland roll) and drinks (Hennessy side car) and both selections were amazing. The service is hit and miss here. The girl is good with 2-3 people at a table but If they get busy she appears to be overwhelmed. They have a variety of menu items to chose from and for this visit I tried the Kobe Shrimp which is their take on the famous "bang bang shrimp". They were flavorful and fried well. For sushi I decided to go with the spicy crab roll and the 2 in 1 roll that was Shrimp tempura & avocado inside, topped with spicy tuna & spicy salmon (can you say yum)! It was a good sized serving and very well presented. I had a dinner bento box. I just like to eat out of a portioned tray - just like grade school, but not bad for portion control. I had the shrimp bento box and the shrimp was well sautéd with a nice broccoli and onion veg mix. The bento also came with a nice miso soup. The decor is pretty good and there is a decent bar and decent vibe. The restaurant was also quite busy on a Tuesday night, so it must be popular with the local dining crowd. My only regret is wishing I took more photos of the amazing presentation and variety of food offered here. In the meantime, I'll share the two photos I did manage to take in between our dinner. Both of my rolls were pretty tasty. They could've been a little more crispy, but the were still good. My only down side was pricing. When ordering over the phone I go by the online menu. The price was different in person, and the guy that took my order over the phone didn't give me my total. It was a $6 dollar difference. Not too bad, just unexpected. Overall, I would recommend. For authentic, raw sushi lovers, this is not the place. However the main courses are good such as the hibachi. The sushi rolls have such a snail amount of seafood and has mostly fillers and rice. I've always wanted to try Kobe's especially after reading so many great reviews. We went on Friday night at 8pm. It was understandable that they were busy so we placed our name on the wait list. We were told we would get a call within 20 minutes. We sat in the parking lot and watched as other people pulled up, went inside, and were seated ahead of us. They clearly were not paying attention to the wait list. I went inside to see why we were being passed over and we were seated immediately.
