I'm not at all familiar with this area, but needed a place to stop for some food and Rad house popped up with some good reviews and recommendations, so we gave it a try. It's kind of a sports bar, but also has some cute/unique decorative touches which elevates the space a little. The drink menu had some great sounding cocktails, so we ordered a round of drinks to start. For food, we went with the BBQ chicken Flatbread, and 2 orders of wings. The food was good, but the drinks stole the show! Kate, was our server and bartender and she was so sweet and friendly. It was pretty busy, but she checked on us throughout and even made us some off menu drinks with no problem.

Came with some friends late night and had the shrimp tacos and crab balls. It was really good for "bar food". The place is small but nice and cozy. I would come back.

Came to La Plata to go to Lowe's and found this spot. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the lovely Cierra who was our server and bartender. She made some great recommendations for us to try. We tried a new tequila instead of the usual brands, this one was from a woman run brand. I got the house salad with blue cheese and a side of shrimp. The shrimp were seasoned perfectly. I then got the wings with sesame teriyaki flavor. They were cooked just right and the flavor was a perfect blend. All the food is fresh not frozen and it shows in the quality and taste of everything we had. Bae got the Tri Trip steak sandwich with no cheese and also loved his food.

I've been here twice in a month and it was amazing both times. The first time the co-owner was our waitress and she was so knowledgeable and friendly. The other time I sat at the bar and both bartenders took perfect care of us. The lemon pepper wings are good. The ranch and bleu cheese is delicious. I've tried a few cocktails and the red wine. I enjoyed them all. It's very lively and crowded but the service is great & the food is good.

The RAD House: Where Good Vibes and Great Food Collide The RAD House, the tiny tap house in the middle of a cute shopping center. Nestled in the heart of small-town charm, this place has more personality than your local barista and is serving up some serious craft beer and bar food magic. If you're a fan of good vibes, mouth-watering bites, and a drink menu that makes you feel like you're at a swanky rooftop bar without the hassle of, you know, actual rooftops, then this is your new favorite spot. First things first: The Drinks. If you're a craft beer connoisseur (or if you just like to pretend you are), The RAD House has you covered. Their beer list is as long as a small-town gossip session, with brews that range from hoppy IPAs to smooth stouts. No matter your taste, they've got something that'll make your taste buds dance like it's prom night. And if beer's not your thing? Fear not, for their cocktails will have you feeling fancy and rebellious in equal measure. But let's get down to business: The Food. And when I say business, I mean *seriously good business*. The menu here is a love letter to bar food, crafted with all the care of a Michelin star restaurant--except it's affordable and you can still walk home after eating it (no Uber needed, folks). First up, The Rad Wings. These aren't your run-of-the-mill wings. Crispy, juicy, and tossed in a sauce that's as zesty as your Aunt Shanaynay at a family reunion, these wings will have you yelling "one more round" before you've even finished your first. There's a flavor for everyone--spicy, sweet, tangy, or somewhere in between--but they'll all leave you wondering why you ever settled for mediocre wings anywhere else. Next, let's talk about Shrimp and Grits. I know, I know, you're thinking, "This is a tap house, not a five-star seafood joint." But trust me, this dish is the kind of magic you can only find when Southern hospitality collides with a small-town kitchen and creativity. The shrimp? Plump, tender, and seasoned like a dream. The grits? Creamy and comforting like a hug from your grandma after you've done something questionable but with a slight crisp on each side lol. If you don't order this, you're not doing it right. And then, of course, there's the Flatbread. Now, I know what you're thinking: "Flatbread? That's for fancy brunch spots where you need a reservation." But no. This flatbread isn't here to show off--it's here to blow your mind with flavors that make you wonder why you ever ate anything else. Crispy, cheesy, and topped with a variety of deliciousness that changes faster than you can say "beer flight," it's the kind of dish you'll fight over with your friends--until you realize, it's big enough for everyone (mostly). The vibe? A cross between your favorite dive bar and a cozy living room, but with better food and more craft beer. The staff? Friendly, fun, and somehow always seem to know when you're about to ask for "just one more round." They'll remember your name, (or what you did for them to remember your name....Sorry to that rug.) your drink, and probably your dog's name, too, which just adds to the charm of this little town gem. So, to sum it up: The RAD House is where you go for amazing food, fantastic drinks, and a whole lot of fun with co-workers. It's the kind of place where strangers become friends, and friends become loyal customers (probably because you're now addicted to the wings). If you're ever in the area, stop by, grab a pint, and prepare to experience small-town tap house greatness.

Found out this place opened up fairly recently through some coworkers. La Plata doesn't have many bars, so it definitely got talked about. The Rad House has pulled in some top talent of bartenders. From what I heard, they get pretty busy later in the day. There's a few TVs setup to watch sports and what not. It's definitely got a cool vibe going on. The cocktails had incredible flavour depth going on. Maybe I'm not cultured enough, but the way the drinks were prepared was pretty amazing. I saw them torch rosemary before placing it in my drink. They got out some sort of wooden board and torched it to infuse the bourbon mix with smoke. The guy doing it was particular about the wood. The appetizers are nothing to scoff at either. I got the crab balls, and they were delicious. All-in-all it's rather expensive, but for what it's worth... it's worth. Can't recommend this place enough. Just what La Plata needed.

Good brews, friendly crew, and tasty tacos.

Came here to check out the vibes. Music is pop punk but if it's slow apparently they take music request. John was super knowledgeable about the menu and even brought the sous chef, Bethany, to answer my question about ingredients. Both were super nice and accommodating. I highly recommend the crab balls and ask for rad sauce. Rad sauce is their in house sauce that has a Buffalo sauce, maplely, old bay flavor. The bartenders, Zach & Dre were super helpful and super nice with the drinks. I highly recommend the Zac's drink, "Can You Feel My Gin?", it's on the secret menu (it's a gin old fashion. Very smooth). I love this place. I definitely will be back. Great place to hang out after work for a good drink, a laugh and some great food!

At first, you'll see what looks like just a pizza shop -- but if you head in and either use the side door or walk through and climb a set of stairs, you'll find the speakeasy upstairs. Very cool vibe: dark, cozy, and date-night ready. Drinks: 4/5 I ordered their take on an Old Fashioned, and it was definitely the highlight of the night but sweeter than I would have liked. They served it over a stamped solid block of ice (a small detail I ). My friend was abstaining from alcohol that night and asked for a non-alcoholic cocktail. To our surprise, they didn't just hand her a lemonade like most places -- they actually made her a crafted virgin drink, which she loved. Food: 3/5 We ordered fries and a slice of pepperoni pizza. The fries turned out to be waffle fries (not mentioned on the menu) and were overly crispy, so not really our favorite. The pizza was fine -- clearly sourced from the shop downstairs -- but it leaned oily and didn't really wow us. Service: 5/5 Pretty standard -- nothing over the top, but not neglectful either. Drinks came out reasonably fast, food followed, and we were checked on enough without it feeling pushy. Vibes: 4/5 The speakeasy itself is definitely the selling point. Dark, intimate, and stylish -- you feel like you've found a little hidden spot. All in all, the cocktails are the reason to come, especially if you're into whiskey. The food was forgettable, but it's convenient that you can order pizza upstairs. We spent about $30-40 for drinks and snacks, which isn't shocking for Old Town. Would I go back? Maybe if I was already in the area, but for a dedicated whiskey night, I'd probably head somewhere else.

A friend hit me up for happy hour on a Saturday night, and shockingly, I was home from work early enough to actually make it happen. Even more shocking? We chose Cheeky's, and I couldn't have been happier. The last time I was here was back when it was Casey's and Cheeky's was just launching, so I was excited to see how it had evolved. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was giving elegant, cozy, and intimate. Soft lighting, relaxed energy--basically the kind of place that gently tells you to sit down, sip a cocktail, and forget about your responsibilities. My friends had already ordered and kindly let us sample their food. I can't remember exactly what it was (possibly drunken noodles? Possibly magic?), but whatever it was, it was delicious. Since we didn't want to copy their order, my boyfriend and I went with the duck fries, duck wings, and fried beef tips with rice. Let me start with the fries because...wow. Skinny fries tossed in garlic, what tasted like truffle, and cooked in duck fat. Honestly? Some of the best fries I've had in a long time. I would come back just for those. My boyfriend loved the duck wings, which were generously coated in mumbo sauce. A little too saucy for me (I prefer my wings slightly less...bathed), but the flavor was solid and the portion was more than fair. My fried beef tips were everything--perfect crunch, just the right amount of sauce, and packed with flavor. A true masterpiece that really showcased Asian-inspired cuisine at its best. I also ordered the hibiscus lemon drop, which was so good I considered ordering a second (and did). That said, it was a bit overpriced for the size--but still tasty enough to make me forgive it. Overall, Cheeky's is super chic, serves delicious cocktails, and delivers flavorful, creative food. If you're looking for a food adventure or something a little out of the norm, I 100% recommend stopping by for an evening. My only complaint? I still dream about the pork katsu sandwich they had back in the Casey's days--served with homemade wonton chips. I think about that sandwich more often than I'd like to admit. Please...bring it back.

The only issue i had when I went in, was that the coffee tables are a bit lower to the ground than was comfortable. My friend and I came during restaurant Week, apparently during happy hour! We ordered duck fries off the happy hour menu, but then also crispy beef, cucumber salad, biang biang shrimp, and duck wings. Everything was phenomenal! The cucumber salad was too spicy for me but it was a risk I took, even tho I could see all the flakes of red spicy all over it. Our server was very nice and he even tried to do the math to see which way to ring in or order to make the price in our favor. We told him not to worry about it, it's fine. We actually never got the duck fries, but at least it was the HH price and not full price. Oh! Then we got the red velvet cinnamon roll for dessert... I will say, I didn't love it. I love red velvet everything, but did not love that. The icing didn't taste like cream cheese although it was super light and fluffy... it was warm in some areas and just cold in others... idk, I just think it could be better executed in a couple different ways. Typically i might take a star away for not getting an item ordered and not loving the dessert, but i didn't mention any of it, so there was no option for the establishment to do anything about it even if they wanted to.
