Verified Untappd venue (iykyk), with what seems like endless taps and an even more impressive selection of cans/bottles. Bartenders are pretty damn knowledgeable about the product as well, which as a beer nerd is perfect. The food is fantastic. From appetizers (the fried vegetables are heaven) to entrees, it's the perfect amalgamation of classic bar food and Indian cuisine. Today when I was in I had the Taphouse (Lamb) Burger with fries and a side of their Makhani sauce (Pic attached). If a place has a lamb burger it's my immediate go to every time, and I have to say Taphouse has the best I've ever had. The lamb was cooked and seasoned perfectly, the vegetables were fresh, and that feta is that perfect accompaniment to round it off. The Makhani sauce is just good on everything. Could drink it. Not kidding. The venue offers a welcoming outdoor area and a semi-private indoor space perfect for events. I've booked Taphouse for both corporate and personal gatherings, and it's the easiest, most reliable spot in the County for hosting by far. Beyond the food and drink, Taphouse, and especially Sunny (the owner) are one of the most community engaged businesses in Southern Maryland. They have put on countless events supporting all types of local organizations, and always work with nonprofits when they need anything. Taphouse and Sunny himself really serve as one of the best ambassadors of St. Mary's County, especially since a large portion of the customers are transient. All in all, 100% a must try if in the area. But be warned, if you do, you will be coming back constantly.

An interesting visit. I think it would be great to experience this venue at night with live music,…read morebut our visit on a kinda slow Saturday afternoon wasn't as thrilling. Even though it wasn't busy, service definitely operated on "island time" slowness. Only one bartender was working the main bar and associated tables. He was doing his best, but it was a lot. It took 20 mins to receive a blended drink, which had to apparently be made at a different bar. Food was not great. The ahi tuna bowl was overcooked and the house-made shrimp and crab egg rolls tasted like a crab cake. Drinks were tasty and strong. The clientele was interesting--since we had to order at the bar, we got up from our table and ordered two feet away at the bar. While standing next to the bar, two women who were sitting at the bar stole our silverware off our table because they didn't have any. We called them out on it but the one said "you can get more." Major side-eye. Music genre was mostly country. So a mixed visit. Parking tip--go past the main entrance and make the next right down a gravel road past the inn that looks like a driveway. Follow it around and there is parking in the back on a grass lot.

The blonde hostess was welcoming and gave us a friendly greeting. She sat us outside and with good shade for my doggo. Andre, our server, was attentive to all our needs and exceeded expectations. He gave us plenty of time to decide on drinks and food. He also gave us plenty of water and ice to cool my fur baby down which I greatly appreciated. The drinks were solid. I will say the frozen pina colada was super strong and I wish it had more of the coconut tropical taste. It was definitely a cool down drink though. My mom likes strong drinks so keep at it! We had the honey old bay wings to start which were absolutely a must try! Very crisp and tasty! I ordered the burger which was tender and tasty. My mom had the chicken wrap at first but she had to send it back as she did not want ranch on it. Seeing that made her stomach turn (not ya'll fault, she had food poisoning yesterday, doesn't eat dairy, and wasn't too hungry). We ordered a plate of wings again to satisfy her and it overall was a nice outing. Andre and the staff were very attentive and I would highly recommend anyone try this hidden gem. Extra kudos to Andre though. Bro is an absolute gentleman and please let him know he is a star server in my eyes. I have been coming for two years! Thanks again!

And while we're on the subject of supporting real food and real restaurants, let me just tell you…read moreabout this place. It's so beautiful and out the way and unassuming...so if it's your first visit and you did no research and maybe just happened upon this place, you're not gonna know what to expect. I visited this place for the first time and that is what I felt, all with the exception of knowing what to expect to a degree because I did read reviews. All of them were fantastic so I was excited to stop by. It's down a long stretch of road and at the end of it is the most beautiful scenery. It really ties together with the seafood dining experience that you are undoubtedly here to have. I mean the views were just spectacular. And we arrived right around golden hour, which made it even more unbelievably beautiful. When we go to places that we've never been , to give ourselves a true experience, we order apps, entrées, and sometimes desert. So for our apps we got crab dip, and crab egg rolls-those were great. The crab egg rolls weren't overcomplicated with any other ingredients. It was crab and wonton wrapper-that's it-and it was fried to perfection. They are also cut open for you and visually to see all that crab in the egg roll, you excited. They are served with a dipping sauce and that was also great. The crab dip (which I got all to myself because my husband isn't a big dip guy) was phenomenal. I put it on everything and took leftovers home. For our mains, my husband got the mariner platter. I got the salmon. Everything was cooked too perfection. I don't venture too much on getting anyone's mac & cheese at any restaurant. however because so many people raved about it, I got the mac & cheese here as one of my sides and it did not disappoint. My other side was onion rings and I love a good onion ring but not everyone knows how to fry them correctly. A goid indication of a good onion ring is that when you bite into it, that the entire onion doesn't detach from the crispy coating and theirs did not. It was fried perfectly and I know true onion ring lovers are going to appreciate that little tidbit of information. And just to add while I was at home with my leftovers, I added the crab dip in with the mac & cheese that I also had left and that was chef's kiss-so maybe a crab mac & cheese should be in their future. My husband also got the cream of crab soup and I had a spoonful of that as well, and it was so creamy and so flavorful and filled with lump crab meat. I got a cocktail from the bar my husband had water and I believe tea...and those were great. There was not one miss in execution or flavor for any of the things that we ordered. We are very much looking forward to our next visit and we both agreed that this is going to become a regular in our rotation. They have a gem here, and in most cases I feel like the more people that know the better, but at the same time I just wanna keep this all to myself...but at the same time everyone deserves to enjoy all that they have to offer and I wish that type of good energy for the customers and staff alike. GOOOOO!
