Today is my mom's birthday and I was thoroughly impressed with your staff today. She can be very particular about her dining experiences and you all accommodated her superbly. The blonde hostess was welcoming and gave us a friendly greeting. She sat us outside and with good shade for my doggo. Andre, our server, was attentive to all our needs and exceeded expectations. He gave us plenty of time to decide on drinks and food. He also gave us plenty of water and ice to cool my fur baby down which I greatly appreciated. The drinks were solid. I will say the frozen pina colada was super strong and I wish it had more of the coconut tropical taste. It was definitely a cool down drink though. My mom likes strong drinks so keep at it! We had the honey old bay wings to start which were absolutely a must try! Very crisp and tasty! I ordered the burger which was tender and tasty. My mom had the chicken wrap at first but she had to send it back as she did not want ranch on it. Seeing that made her stomach turn (not ya'll fault, she had food poisoning yesterday, doesn't eat dairy, and wasn't too hungry). An interesting visit. I think it would be great to experience this venue at night with live music, but our visit on a kinda slow Saturday afternoon wasn't as thrilling. Even though it wasn't busy, service definitely operated on "island time" slowness. Only one bartender was working the main bar and associated tables. He was doing his best, but it was a lot. It took 20 mins to receive a blended drink, which had to apparently be made at a different bar. Food was not great. The ahi tuna bowl was overcooked and the house-made shrimp and crab egg rolls tasted like a crab cake. Drinks were tasty and strong. The clientele was interesting--since we had to order at the bar, we got up from our table and ordered two feet away at the bar. While standing next to the bar, two women who were sitting at the bar stole our silverware off our table because they didn't have any. We called them out on it but the one said "you can get more." We stopped by Tiki Bar for drinks and to meet up with friends, and it ended up being a really fun spot for a group. There were 12 of us, and there was no wait when we arrived. I had a cider and a slice of key lime pie, and both were good. Our drinks came out quickly, and the service was great throughout the visit. Everyone in our group seemed to enjoy what they ordered. The best part was the atmosphere. The band was pretty good, the vibe was energetic, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. We were really looking forward to the Tiki Bar but unfortunately it was a little underwhelming. Maybe it was because we sat at the front patio but while service was friendly, it was quite slow. There didn't seem to be an order to who got their drinks first despite ordering first. The merchandise area is picked out and unorganized. Just came for drinks on a holiday weekend - it was packed with a live band. There's lots of seating areas and a few bars. There is a parking lot out back but we parked on the street. They're famous for their Mai Tai so we got one of those and a Three Way - which is a mix of the Mai Tai and two other drinks. These drinks were in premade jugs, so nothing to really make, just pour - no big deal as they were only about $9. Drinks were sweet, one was plenty! After mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea, we decided to stay on Solomons Island for lunch. My wife said some of her co-workers liked the Tiki Bar/Tiki Grill, so we decided to have lunch. I ordered the blackened shrimp tacos, my wife had the crab dip. Both were very good. I also had a Hazy Little Thing while my wife had a Twisted Tea. Had a pretty good selection for beers, both on tap and in cans. The decor definitely fit the Tiki/South Pacific theme. There was a whole village behind the bar/grill, with lots of umbrella-covered tables on beach sand. Part of the bar used to be a small motel as well, some of the doors still have room numbers on them. Overall a nice place to eat... the only negative was I had asked for a salad as the side to my tacos, but they gave me fries. Took forever for the most mid food and mid drinks. Would try it out again but skeptical.

We - I and our sailing crew- arrived by bicycle from nearby Zahnisers Marina, and made use of their convenient bicycle racks. Unfortunately. When we arrived all of the shops in the complex were closed. But we found a nice table to eat under the roof, but open to the outside. We were able to enjoy the colors of the sunset sky during dinner. Theirs is the best Chesapeake hot crab dip we found all summer. My fish tacos and house salad were also perfect. This place is by far the most animal friendly of any place in the area! We have a very docile Bernese-mountain-dog-German-shepherd-mix who is quite large but very friendly. The staff here catered to her every whim. The manager Brian was very kind and fed her almost every time we came in. We could not have found a more accommodating restaurant. Nothing in the area came anywhere close! We went there many times as we were working on our sailboat locally. At first, we stayed outside at the Tiki Bar, but it became obvious the staff liked us and our dog! A live band was setting up as we arrived however we only heard the music playing over the speakers. Also, we were sat at a table right across from a boat entrance to the Bay so we had a view of the water until cars started filling up that side of the road. _* Alcoholic Drinks - I just had a pina colada but it was yummy! Now for the bad... *THE FOOD - Hubs and I created our own sampler and ordered the crab balls, rockfish bites, crab and shrimp egg rolls, and honey old bay wings. Our teen ordered the rockfish tacos and we got chickens fingers for our little one. The crab and shrimp egg rolls were bland and filled with breading. The rockfish bites were awful! The inside was slimy and didn't taste cooked all the way and the batter was simply repulsive. The crab balls had very little crab meat and were filled with fillers (bread crumbs, etc.). The only item that was decent was the honey old bay wings. Our teen got rockfish tacos and said the dish was edible, but lacked seasoning. The chicken fingers and fries for our little actually tasted pretty decent. Lastly , while I alcoholic beverage was good, my husband ordered the sweet tea which he said was not sweet and my teen said the pink lemonade again, was just OK. We were wondering if we could just drive to some place within 90 minutes from DC to either southern VA or southern MD. It was a beautiful day with temperatures soaring to 75. So we came across Solomon Islands. Beautiful boat town located on the patauxent river. Beautiful water views and mostly a boat town. We came across this beautiful tiki bar while exploring this island. Located at a beautiful spot and also has boat access right across the street. What surprised me the most is their menu. They had a great combo of seafood and meat. We ordered a nice lager to cool off and then followed it up with an order of shrimp with Cajun spices and Jamaican chicken skewers with fries. Tjjerd is menu and the drink menu is painted through the bar on the wall. Which is very cool. We seat near the entrance at the high top tables. I was really impressed when w told the manager we were cold, they brought the tall heaters over-to our section. I had a mango margarita and it wasn't all that good. Took the first bite and realized it was beef. They replaced the correct one for me. The spring rolls wrapper lightly fried outside but the dough wrap inside still raw. You can taste the raw flour over taste the crab. 2 rolls for $18 with just small portion of crab filling! Then entree came, shrimps dish supposed to be coated with bbq sauce. No sauce on the shrimps at all. Asparagus was overcooked like they cooked it and leave them in the warmer and serve when order comes in. Then the drink supposed to have strawberry puree per description on menu. The drink came look like cherry temple. Using strawberry syrup not purée as menu said! Very disappointed!
