When we had a boat, we would visit the Chesapeake bay for long weekend and Solomons Island is a favorite. Lighthouse is on main strip, so picturesque and easy to walk to. The vibe is light and casual, esp at bar area where we sat. Basically paying $$ for convenience & views. The food average. Calamari was crunchy but the plain cocktail sauce so uncreative, the crab burger looked better than it tasted, my shrimp grits was on salty side. Hubs did enjoy his shrimp tacos. Good option on Solomon's Island especially for a nice day on the deck. Beware, however, that their outdoor seating is seasonal, and doesn't open right during the shoulder season. No reservations. They do put you on a waitlist and text you back when your table is ready. Service is always friendly, no matter how crowded. Never went wrong with any crab dish. read more

Dave and I were driving around this beautiful area with its boats and beautiful homes. We wanted a lite lunch to hold us over until dinner. This lovely restaurant hit the spot. We got seated by the window and we could see the water, geese and beautiful boats. We opted for creamy crab soup. OMG-it was delicious and loaded with chunks of crab. We also shared some fish tacos and they were very good. A whole fish filet atop of lettuce. A delicious aioli on the side of fried onion rings and some homemade salsa. What a pleasant surprise! I came in for lunch with my family, and we received such a warm welcome and were promptly shown to a table. Megan, our server, was absolutely wonderful! She took our drink order and was really helpful with her suggestions. The filet was seasoned just right and cooked to perfection. The fried oysters were absolutely delicious. The fried shrimp with the boom boom sauce on the side was truly amazing. The angry crab cake was a bit spicy but still incredibly tasty. The food was ok, I say that because the crab cake sandwich looked good butt the taste was not as good as it could be. We arrived at 5 pm on a Sunday and there was no wait. Our sever was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Food and drinks arrived in a timely manner. Restaurant seemed family friendly. We ordered the Lobster Roll which was served with their delicious potato chips. The two rolls were served cold with large lumps of lobster meat in the lobster salad, but a side of drawn butter was also given to us. The lobster had a little dusting of Old Bay on top which added a nice Chesapeake touch. The split top roll was deliciously buttery. Every time we have come together, it has been super chill and busy enough in the restaurant to notice how busy it was getting. Of course seafood prices always tend to be listed at "market price" and it's sad that far too many entries are priced over $30 and ordering á la carte. Note: The service team could have been a little more responsive as I had to leave our table to seek out assistance with finding five small plates. This confused me as we clearly suggested that our family would share two desserts. Shouldn't these plates have arrived when the coffee and dessert was served? I got the special which was a "teriyaki ahi tuna" with hush puppies and honey. The ahi tuna was overcooked so it was kind of dry. The hush puppies were decent but can't beat any restaurants from the South for hush puppies. The onion rings were big and you get a lot. Let's start with the positives. The atmosphere, drinks, and service were great. I was surprised how quickly my girlfriend and I were waited on and served with how busy the restaurant was. What really grinded my gears was when my "spicy crab cakes" that I ordered came out tasting like someone dumped Chinese 5 spice in there. I let my waiter know politely because I know it's not his fault. However, he came back assuring me that the line cooked couldn't possibly mess up and that it was old bay and black pepper I was tasting. My brother in Christ I know what cinnamon and nutmeg taste like. It tasted like someone hand mixed 12 pumpkin pies and then formed my crab cakes. There was not a hint of old bay in there. Happy New Years, 2026. Late in posting our review, but in November 2025 we attended a family wedding. On Sunday it was suggested that ten family members go to The Lighthouse for dinner. From the moment we entered we were so graciously treated. We had drinks at the bar and the entire family arrived our table/s were ready. The waitress was very patient and efficient in taking our orders and then another round of drinks. She was attentive to each one of us. The drinks, the appetizers and main entrees were fabulous. Most importantly was the Manager on duty was asked to give me (and my husband) the entire bill. I advised her that she may get some opposition but she followed our request and made it happen. I'll try never to go here again, ugh, maybe if I slip up again you'll be changing for a glass of water? Whenever I'm in town I tell my family I want to go to Lighthouse. There's always easy parking, not a long wait, and it's always a beautiful atmosphere. We have tried most of the menu by now, but some of the crowd favorites include the boom boom shrimp, crab soups, chicken chesapeake wrap, crabcake sandwich. They have an exciting drink menu, the key lime pie crush is amazing. Now they are offering a frozen orange crush and it was delicious! After dinner you can walk down the boardwalk on the water for some ice cream :) read more
