The steamed crabs were local, fresh and exactly what we were hoping for. The oysters were great as well. But the service stands out. Laura was welcoming and attentive. The hostess was pitch perfect, also. Best Mai Tai in Solomons, as well. Happy to come back ANYTIME.

Well, I left an earlier review where I said that I didn't understand some of the poor reviews here - now I get it. We've been coming here since they opened and especially loved the soft shell crab sandwiches. Today was a real miss. We waited two minutes shy of an hour (!) to get our food, having arrived at 1:30. After finally going inside to see if they'd forgotten us, the food finally came and was a real disappointment. Instead of the handmade rolls they used to serve, these were limp potato rolls, and rather than the handmade chips that were so, so good on previous visits, we got the dregs and crumbs from the bitter end of a bag of ruffled potato chips. I immediately asked what the story was and was offered some fries instead. Agreed, but got a 2/3s full bowl of what could only have been frozen crinkle cut fries. And when the bill came, they charged me $7 for the "complimentary" fries! The manger was kind enough to discount the soft shells, but what a huge disappointment. I really hope that the friends I've steered to this establishment had a better experience than we did. I certainly won't be going back. After a really promising start when they opened, this is now nothing more than just another tourist trap.

Food was great crabs was delicious, especially being the only spot really selling crabs on Mondays the price was reasonable. Bar tender was so pleasant, the host was awesome, hidden treasure for sure i went early in the day no wait!!! Except to cook them delicious crabs!! Prices are on the hi side!! But good portions!!!clean nice atmosphere

We had wonderful late lunch here in August. We ate inside, they had outside tables available too. I had their premium margarita which was awesome. We started with the crab dip which we really liked. It had a subtle seasoning that accented the crab. For dinner/lunch I had their filet and lobster tail with slaw and fries. I had the lobster broiled and it was cooked perfect. So many places over cook seafood but this was great. I put some of the crab dip on the steak which was also fabulous. My wife got the steamer bucket (can't remember the exact name). She loved crab legs which she said were cooked perfect. It was a lot to eat so she took the shrimp home. The service was awesome with a Navy spouse taking care of us. We never waited for anything and the manager stopped by to make sure we were happy We were extremely happy with whole experience. Some of those restaurants on the water let their location be the whole thing and they don't have much for food quality. This place has both. We are definitely going back.

Raw oysters with an amazing vinegar, horseradish and frsh lemons. We ordered 2 dozens and a hand crafted surprise cocktail!

The cannelloni itself was okay, but the seafood filling was a bit overcooked, making both the shrimp bits and the crab rubbery +the Crab Cake Dinner - you can choose 1 or 2 5oz crabcakes; served with a choice of 2 sides; we went for the House Salad and the Skinny Fries; the salad that was served had old/wrinkled tomatoes; just couldn't see why a restaurant would serve something like that to its patrons; we were excited for the crabcakes, but they were less than mediocre; the hot sauce that they had was not a good complement at all; fries were not seasoned at all and forgettable Service was fine, and the place is dim-lit and slightly cramped - if you're sitting at one of the tables set in an angular way, you're bound to be constantly bumped into by the passing service staff and patrons. First timers on Solomon and at Bugeye Grill. I will admit that we stopped by this restaurant…read morebecause it was one of the first ones that had outdoor seating (we were visiting with a dog). The restaurant had a nice variety of dishes and specialty cocktails...I think that I was more interested in the latter. ;) Since I have not visited Solomons, MD before, I cannot comment if the prices are comparable to other places in the area. However, most of the entrees were in the $25 and up range. I thought my fish and chips (I forget the actual name of the dish) were fine, and my spouse really enjoyed the crab cake sandwich. Although I thought the portion sizes for the sandwiches and fries were fine, the serving size of the mussels seemed a bit small. However, this could have been an optical illusion because the serving bowl for the mussels was HUGE, so the amount of mussels could have appeared to be smaller than what it was. I thought the outdoor patio was great especially with a view of the water and folks going about their business. However, some may not like the setup because you are right on the main street, which can be a bit noisy especially if a lot of bikers are cruising up and down the strip. Parking was a bit of a struggle (not the fault of the restaurant). During our visit, all of the public parking lots were full. However, we visited on Mother's Day weekend so maybe there were more folks (including us ) in the area than normal. I'll admit that since this was my first time visiting the area that I'm not too familiar about the ebb and flow of parking. Overall, our server (who reminded me a bit of a young Jodie Foster) was amazing. One thing that I really appreciated was her telling us about a potential delay for the food due to a large party. Although no one wants to hear that after ordering food, I think it's nice and considerate when a server provides a heads-up so diners can adjust accordingly.
