    2 dozen of female crabs
    Marichu Joy S.

My mom has been craving crabs and we were recommended by a local to come here. We purchased 2 dozen female crabs ($20/dozen), 1 dozen oysters ($10), and fresh fish. We got the crabs and oysters steamed and the fish we brought home to make sinigang (Filipino tamarind soup). Although the crabs We got today are from North Carolina, we were happy with how fresh they were. We are new to the area and I am glad that there are fresh crabs nearby.

You can get better food a Long John Silvers. Only this place does have better hush puppies (lightly). Got the fried seafood platter. It was super bland. Fish was dry. Scallops were ok. Shrimp were the only good thing. (1 the one star). Website said they have green beans but they do not. When I went back to pick up my and my aunts order he asked how many crab deviled eggs I got. I wasn't sure as they were with her order. He found the ticket and rang everything up. Get to the hotel. No deviled eggs. Thankfully it was super close so I went back. No apology. Nothing. You'd be better off going to the gas station right near them for food. Also the crab deviled eggs were disgustingly sweet and only had a tiny piece of crab on top. I'm sure the fried clams didn't actually contain any clam. Hard and empty. If you know anything about good seafood avoid this place.

What to choose!? While waiting for our crabs you will always Find something else to buy!

We wouldn't think of going anywhere else for Maryland crabs. 18 large & cooked perfectly. Outstanding staff and team. What is really impressive is the store is so spotless & somehow doesn't smell like fish when you walk inside! Well merchandised and quality seafood. Always a treat to come here and support them. Remember to tip also - they work really hard

Quick & relatively affordable fried food platters. Coming from the DC area, we are so used to getting our freshly made seafood platters from Captain White's near the Warf. So...yeah. I guess we are a little spoiled because the food is freshly cooked in front of us and you're surrounded by fresh seafood. At Captain Smith's, the shrimp seemed like it was precooked. Not sure how fresh it was. We thought about getting crabs but needed a quick dinner for this evening...so maybe next time. Credit cards accepted for $10 minimum purchase. Plenty of parking in the shared lot. Primarily a take out place but they do have some minimal seating that people mostly used to wait for their food. We ordered 8 of their fried platters and were in/out in 15 minutes.

We did try to catch them ourselves, but they weren't biting! LOL. Instead of going out to eat at a restaurant, I suggested we do a takeout order to be able to take our time and fully enjoy at home. Years ago, we had the crabs at a restaurant and it took me HOURS to pick them! I think my brother-in-law felt bad (and the rest of the family was getting impatient) and started picking the last few for me, because it was taking soooooo long! He suggested we go to Crab Knockers, a local seafood shop that sells fresh seafood, but that also cooks it for you! Inside, they have old arcade games with a fishing themed decor. They have a case full of seafood with a combo of locally sourced and brought in from other places. The shop was quite busy with a steady flow of patrons. We got 2 dozen blue crabs, steamed with J.O. seasoning (medium spice) and it came out to roughly $60! It took about 20-25 minutes or so. When we got home, we got right to work. My brother-in-law showed me the proper way Marylanders (is that the proper term?) and I think I got the hang of it by the 3rd crab hahaha. Even my oldest managed well! Crabs were delicious! Some claws were a little overcooked, but that's just the nature of seafood and takeout. The body meat was perfect! There is a lot of work for these little guys, but it fed me and my oldest as our only dinner and a few other family members who ate one or two. We even had enough crab meat for two crab cakes for breakfast the next day! I highly suggest checking them out. It's less expensive and less work in terms of cooking (and mess)! I'll definitely ask for crabs again next time we visit! Enjoy and go out and support!

Crabs were cooked within 20 min of me placing the order, crabs seasoned generously with J.O., and they were cooked perfectly. The crabs weren't wet like some other establishments. Crabs were fat and full of eggs! And if you know me and my family, and majority of Asians, we LOVE our eggs! Wait, what?! Crab meat was sweet, eggs and crab buttah tasty...what more can you ask. There's several seafood markets in St. Mary's county and I'll be putting Crabknockers on the top of my list whenever I need a crab/seafood fix in the future. I will definitely be spending my hard earned cash here in the future. Highly recommended! Check them out, you won't be disappointed. Oh, they sell snakehead fillets, too! YEAH!

We were looking forward to seeing how it is authentically made. First thing was... No paella pan! Really? Apparently it went on vacation with the Chef. Shame on her. If you have a class coming for paella, you get another paella pan. These classes are not inexpensive. As far as authenticity went, the chef went off script on several different steps we were looking for authentic and we got impromptu. I felt very bad for the Chef who was doing the demo. He was really trying to do a great job considering the circumstances. I do not hold him accountable. Except for maybe the dessert, which was sickening sweet. Could not take more than two bites That being said, we had a lovely time lovely people. The staff was very friendly. We just simply did not get what we paid for.

Disappointing Experience - Not Worth the Price…read more I was really looking forward to the Asian Dumplings Cooking Class, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. The class started over 30 minutes late and ran long, which caused me to be late for my next commitment. More importantly, it wasn't truly a cooking class; it was a demonstration. Most of us simply watched, while a few lucky participants were invited to roll and seal one dumpling each. There was no hands-on learning, no guidance, and no opportunity to build skills. To make matters worse, I was seated near the back, where I couldn't see the main table well. The viewing monitor wasn't zoomed in enough to be helpful, and loud conversations around me made it hard to hear the instructor. Reserved seating was allowed, so although I arrived early, I was unable to sit in several empty front-row seats because they were being held for friends who arrived much later. The food itself was underwhelming and bland, lacking in authentic flavor, and not worth the wait. Two of the dumpling varieties used store-bought wrappers, and portions were small. The sauces were forgettable, and the pace of serving was slow, leaving us with lots of waiting and very little to enjoy. We weren't even given recipes to take home, which, after tasting the food, I wasn't too disappointed about. At $100 per ticket, I expected an interactive, educational experience with quality food and better organization. Unfortunately, I left without learning any new skills, still hungry, and feeling like I wasted both time and money. I would not recommend this class. On a good note the staff were very friendly and accommodating, but I won't be back.
