Roasted red pepper soup and salad
Jessica G.

Last night was my second time going to the Front Porch. They have a rather large menu and it's definitely a good spot for those that want a protein forward menu with sides. Like every other place in Leonardtown they have limited vegetarian options that never change. I think last night was a tough service day for them and it showed. We sat next to other patrons on the patio that were repeatedly asking for their cocktails. They brought me the wrong cocktail at first and swapped it out for the correct one eventually - the one I was handed belonged to the table next to me. When our food came out (I got a soup and salad and my partner got chicken and waffles) it looked pretty good! My soup was delicious and my partner liked their entree. I was missing my dressing for my salad and it took over 20 minutes for them to bring it to me so I ended up only eating a cup of soup for dinner. They didn't apologize for forgetting my dressing just made a bunch of excuses as to how busy they are - which is an inappropriate way to handle a service miss. We may come back. There are limited options here in Leonardtown and they do have decent food, but the service was disappointing this visit and I understand that does happen at times.

I ate here twice during my visit and the food was awesome! The staff is friendly and attentive! There is indoor and outdoor seating and it really is such a historical place! It doesn't feel like a restaurant, it feels like a house! I recommend the crab cake sandwich and the green beans as my favorites! Definitely try it out if you're ever in Leonardtown! I will define stopping by again!

Creme brûlée

Somehow despite living in this town my whole life, I'd never had the privilege to dine here. I'm so glad I finally made the time, and can't wait to do so again! We (two people) decided to order much and split all, trying: Brussels sprouts, daily quiche, a Caesar salad, side risotto, side fries, and the crème brûlée to finish. The Brussels sprouts are a DO NOT miss, I am still thinking about them. So much wonderful and flavorful goat cheese, and a fantastic sharing portion. The quiche (that day spinach and Parmesan) was another standout, with perfect crunchy crust and robust flavor. The risotto was perhaps a bit Al dente for some taste, but I personally struggle with a soggy texture and LOVED the side. The salad and fries were good too, iterations of a classic. Creme brûlée ended the meal perfectly, creamy and sugary. The inside of the place too is incredible. The historic Sterling House is upheld. And there are even some census records on the walls. For any ~spooky~ fans out there, I always heard growing up that it was haunted!! For reassurance to the reader, I felt no ghosts ;). But I did feel the history, and loved getting to experience historic SOMD and some great food. I'm so looking forward to coming back, and recommend it to all in town and to the folks looking for a fun weekend on the Bay!

$25 for these mini tomato soup and Caesar salad. I couldn't attend an event so my husband asked that they to-go my order. It was a set price of $25. We've enjoyed lunch at The Front Porch over the last couple of years and the portions have always been way more than generous. Not today! These are kid size portions they handed my husband in a plastic bag. He trusted them to package the same portions others had enjoyed but instead the wait staff screwed us over. Makes me wonder who enjoyed the fuller portion of my meal.

Well first off. I have been impressed with service here everywhere we have eaten. Service is far superior to what we experience at home. That being said the food was delicious. The restaurant was casual and comfortable. With indoor as well as outdoor dining.

This place is so worth the stop if you are in southern Maryland. The food is sooooo tasty. Went with Jambalaya. Perfect size and protein packed nearly every bite. Sat outside on the porch and enjoyed the windy day. The crowd was packed with families and people on dates. The service was excellent and friendly. The price, for the food and with the service, is the best priced meal I've had in a while. I would definitely visit again if in the area. May become my go-to for the area.

The food was delicious and fresh. The service was also quick, and our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. This is a nice brunch/lunch spot with outdoor seating, and they even offer mimosas, which was a plus!

Rating is really a 3.5 but yelp doesn't allow 1/2 stars so I'm gonna give them an extra 1/2…read more Pros: love the mimosa tower & most of the food we've had has been tasty Street Corn Nachos - 4* very tasty with just a hint of spice! Crab Dip - 3* pretty good wish they had roasted the baguettes Buffalo Chicken Dip - 3* not a lot of chicken but the flavor is good. Wish they used the chips that they use with the nachos instead of the super thin ones that basically break when you try to dip them. Also would be nice to have a vegetable option like celery & carrots Cons: Chicken Wings absolutely awful! Gristly & rubbery almost to the point of inedible. Not a fan of ordering at the counter wish they'd change that option it's hard to see the menu and make a decision that way. Also not a fan of not serving plates with menu items that are considered "shareables"

Very cute and trendy spot. It seems like the local go-to for coffee in the morning and cocktails…read morebefore 10 p.m. (I believe they close around midnight). Leonardtown tends to shut down early, so this place definitely fills a needed niche. I ordered the Everything Bagel & Lox, and my friend had the Social Classic. He got a smoothie, and I went with an Irish Coffee - very on brand for me to try a cocktail at any time of day lol. The service was great, and they even handled my English friend pronouncing "Chagachino" with patience and humor. Big win there lol. This place is worth a visit if you're in town.
