My Wife and I had lunch here. We started with tortilla chips and salsa which was good and 2 drinks. My wife had the 12 oz margarita and I had the Long Island Ice Tea. Love the food here. Hate the DJ. I'm a first time mom who is the primary caregiver and full time work from home employee. I don't GET to come out often anymore. But when I do, we go to places with nothing but respect for the places we go, knowing we have a really well behaved baby makes it easier to go places. We came here because we used to love the service, food and atmosphere. Even with a small baby, we'd already been here twice. No issues. Came again with my 2.5 month old baby on a Friday after a really long week in the house. We left the restaurant early enough that by the time we left it was still daylight. Arrived around 5:30-6pm. Ordered our food and as it arrived a DJ came in. As we were almost done (about 39 min later) a DJ came in and started blasting club music. I knew we would've be able to stay much longer because the chatter mixed with the DJ would be too much anyways so I requested the check while we prepared to leave. Because it started getting SO loud I asked the host to see if the DJ could turn down the music while we got the check, asking for only 3-5 minutes specifically so my husband could pack up the baby and we could leave, and get out of their hair. The DJ turned up the music so loud we had to remove my daughter from the establishment before the check was paid. The host came back over to me and like in a club had to get really close to my face to apologize for the DJ Turing the music up even louder. He said " I am SOO SORRY! I have no idea what the DJ is doing or why they turned up the music, I asked to have it turned down and they turned it up." (Had ordered a second glass of wine since my husband was driving, and was the only two glasses I'd had since pregnancy). Didn't even get to finish my second glass. Needless to say I bought her earmuffs that night. It was the single most inconsiderate moment we've had since she was born. While I know that babies can be inconvenient for folks, our baby wasn't making a peep and was actually quite happy, and never got fussy, but we thought we were going to a sit down restaurant that was family friendly with her. We rushed out as soon as we realized it wasn't, but literally couldn't even get out of there fast enough!! I asked for a few minutes and got a proverbial slap in the face. This is how our communities fail women and mothers. We can't just hide in our houses until the baby is grown up. We deserve to be in places, and enjoy life too. Turning music up that loud is totally fine. I genuinely don't care, I can handle leaving the restaurant and being respectful to those who want to party on a Friday. But let get 5 min so I can pack up and pay. Management failed that night because we used to love coming here and unfortunately the amount of disrespect in that one gesture was enough for me to never go back. Having a DJ at happy hour is fine. Stopped here on a Saturday afternoon for a quick little appetizer and drink with a couple of friends. There was plenty of parking and we were seated immediately. I ordered the crab dip and my friends had the appetizer platter with the wings, nachos, quesadillas and I believe toquitos . Everything was pretty good but the crab dip had a pungent crab taste that didn't really agree with my tastebuds, But it wasn't nasty, Just wasn't my preference. The bartender made the wrong drink twice, however the waitress resolved the problem quickly. My waitress was really sweet and kind. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews because I know restaurants work hard, and I do want to start with the positives because there were definitely some. The staff was amazing. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout the night. The food was good, not necessarily memorable, but solid overall. I also tried a cocktail that was just okay. Now for the part that completely changed the experience for us. We visited on a Thursday night and had no idea it was karaoke night (possibly ladies night as well). I really wish that had been communicated before we were seated because the atmosphere was very different from what you'd expect at a family Mexican restaurant around 7:30 on a Thursday evening. The music was already extremely loud, giving more of a club/lounge vibe, but once karaoke started, things took a turn. Multiple participants chose songs filled with profanity and explicit lyrics. One performer even sang "My Neck, My Back" word for word, uncensored, over the microphone while families and children were actively sitting and eating nearby. That's where the issue really comes in for me. I'm all for adults having fun and restaurants creating entertainment nights, but there has to be some consideration for the environment and audience. This is still a family restaurant, and there were plenty of children present. It just felt wildly inappropriate for that setting and time of night. Even when the DJ finally asked the participants to be respectful they continued with the language and sexual content. Had we known beforehand, we probably would have chosen another night to visit. Management may want to reconsider how karaoke nights are handled, whether that means giving guests a heads up before seating, limiting explicit music, or making those nights adults-only after a certain hour. My friend and I were trying to find something to do on a Friday night. I tried this restaurant when it first took over the former Applebees years ago. I didn't really like it. I'm not sure why but here I am trying it again years later and I love it. Service was great and the waiter had plenty of patience when it came to my picky partner. I love a good sizzling fajita. Enjoyed our ladies lunch today! A lil on the pricey side ($150+ total/$60 per person split 3 ways, including tip). Our fault for not wanting to venture out for their weekday happy hour which, according to their menu, totally looks like it's ALL of that and then some! The biggest complaint for me is the $4 extra charge for sour cream and pico de gallo. I mean the food is better than Taco Bell and clearly we cannot get Margaritas at Taco Bell but the state of surcharges is just diabolical! *Sigh* Today, our steak quesadilla, chicken burrito, birria and shrimp tacos, AND our Margaritas were worth a repeat visit. Savory and tender. Huge portions and pretty tasty. The calamari (fried too hard) and crab dip (unidentified seasoning) ... declared not so much of a fan fav. When do you review an Applebee's? When it closes and now it's one of my favorite Tex-Mex restaurants.. Period!! Lol Fiesta Cancun is the perfect place to enjoy all of your Mexican favorites and even some American classics! To date, I've had the Ribeye, crab dip and calamari, which were all GREAT, especially the crab dip! My Mexican favs have been the house made guacamole, shrimp enchiladas, and shrimp tacos, which have all been top notch! The drinks are reasonably priced and always made to perfection! On the weekends, there's always a DJ spinning current and old school classics and rap which definitely makes us want to stay and order one more drink..LOL Fiesta Cancun is just a good time and will put you in a great mood, so definitely come and support and keep this former Applebee's in business!! :)) read more

I popped in for the first time last week to find out why the parking lot stays packed. The vibe was festive. They lean into Taco Tuesday with a DJ spinning before karaoke, drink & food specials including $2 tacos. I appreciate them offering both American & Mexican cuisines plus a kids menu. We decided to patronize this new restaurant on an early evening weekday. It was very lively in here and the staff was fiercely moving about. We were greeted and seated immediately and given chips and salsa after arrival to our table. We hadn't been here before but as with most Mexican American restaurants, we pretty much always know what we're getting. I was however conflicted on what cocktail to get after being presented with their extensive drink menu so I consulted with our waitress and she helped. For our meals, I got a Birria pizza that came with pickled onions, some cucumbers, radish I believe and a bunch of sauces. My husband got a fajita mixed grill with shrimp, chicken and steak and all the accompanying sides like rice and beans. Presentation to the table was beautiful. The food smelled so good. Our eyes and noses were full way before our stomachs were. In short the food was amazing. It was full of robust flavors and cooked very well. The meats were tender, the sauces were fresh and had a bit of spice and they added to the meals so well. We shared our meals as we typically do and we both were definitely equally impressed. The only part of the meal that didn't impress was the rice and beans. We never really expected them to be mind blowing but with a meal this good we were kind of surprised that they missed the mark by so much. They were not enjoyable at all. The waitress was attentive, the patrons were enjoying themselves and a lot of them engaged us to find out how the Birria pizza was. Im telling you it was a thing of beauty and so so so good. This restaurant is one of my favorites in the area. Friendly and amazing service from the greeter to the wait staff. The drinks are pretty good and strong and there's a nice selection of beverages to I close non alcoholic bar options. My go to is the carne asada steak which comes with refried beans and rice. The birrias are AMAZING as well. The ambiance has been refreshed since they've opened up this restaurant and it has an authentic Mexican flair. They tend to play good music selections both Spanish music and R&B/ hip hop. I brought my sister here for her birthday, not knowing the wait staff would celebrate her- they sang and allowed her to wear their sombrero! Our service was subpar. We waited 10 minutes before we were greeted. We weren't even greeted by our server at first. She was standoffish and not very friendly. We ordered food and drinks at the same time. She got our simple drink order of 2 lemonades and a water wrong. Never filling our drinks until we asked her about 30 minutes into our dinner. The food was ok at best nothing that blew us away. The taco tortilla was hard clearly indicating it wasn't fresh. I ordered the chicken, stake asada and beef tacos of which I only enjoyed the chicken. We had to flag our server down for our check. The people next to us were clearly annoyed as our server didn't bring them a check till they asked for one as well. Even though they were there before we got there. Taco Tuesday I have been to Fiesta Cancun plenty of times. The most popular night that I have attended is Tuesday. It's popular because they also have Karaoke . With that said, Tuesdays is a bit hectic and crowded. Be ware that it is loud! I arrived a little before 8 PM EST. To my surprise I was seated immediately (party of 1). I don't even attempt to get a seat at the bar because there's never availability and very rarely do I catch a seat as soon as someone is leaving. Unfortunately, the hostess sat me but no waiter/waitress came for a while. I watched plenty pass by me. I even stopped one that was at the table diagnolly from me asking if she could send over the server. That was after waiting 10 minutes. The server replied "Sure, I'll get someone one to come over" No one came. I then saw the table of four across from me be seated. And moments later, chips and salsa arrived for their table. At this point it's been almost 20 minutes. I stopped a different server- Shout-out to Allison! She had her hands full of dishes she was cleaning off but still politely decided to free a hand and take my order. After doing so, I receive the chips and salsa for the table momentarily. The food is good. The Margaritas are large! This is why I keep returning. I am disappointed in the service though. I am not sure if they are short staffed but unless I am seated at the bar (on a slow night) it is a struggle with attentiveness. So, pack your patience if you decide to check this place out. I ordered chicken & steak quesadillas this time (I usually get fajitas). I did ask for extra sour cream and guac. I had to remind or request it again because what was on my plate could not have been the extra. The quesadillas also seemed empty or hallow? I'm not sure but I've had better at their restaurant specifically so I was disappointed. I ordered the Jumbo Fiesta Cadillac margarita and forgot how big it was. I struggled to finish it. Three stars because I've been plenty times but the service needs improvement and I was disappointed in the quesadillas this time around. If I go back, I'll review a different food item. read more

The tables and bar are usually occupied so i just assumed the dine in experience was solid. OK, so this is not a "blow-you-out-of-the-water" Mexican restaurant. The food is not outstanding and pales in comparison to any type of Mexican food in California. However, here is what I can tell you: -the service is excellent! My server was very attentive in nature. I had more than everything I needed. -the food is just fine. It's good. I got the enchiladas with salsa verde. It didn't blow my mind, but it was good. You might need to ask for extra sauce. For the price, you get a pretty good portion. -They have Coke products! You really can't trust Mexican restaurants that don't. -They are fast as hell! I came for lunch on a Wednesday, I ordered and my food was out less than five minutes later. It was all super hot and fresh, too. I would recommend it! For a soft drink and enchiladas, plus the bottomless chips and salsa they offer, I paid under $25. I think it was actually like 21. Fiesta Cancun has replaced Mariachis, which replaced Applebees. The setup inside is exactly the same from when it was Applebees, just the name, decorations and I guess owners have changed. I went for taco Tuesday and it was very crowded. I ended up having to share a high-top with another couple. The food and drinks were ok. Not the best but not the worst I've had. What made the night great was they did karaoke and had a $100 prize. The DJ (Hefbeats) was amazing. He used to DJ at Bayou Girl and kept the party going. Overall an enjoyable evening. It took forever to place my food order as they only had 1 bartender for a packed house. When I did get my food it was room temp.
