The food is always good, the portions are generous, and you really can't go wrong with a margarita and some chips and salsa to start. The menu has a little bit of everything, but this is definitely one of our go-to places when we're craving Mexican food and don't want to venture too far from home. It's casual, family-friendly, and perfect for an easy lunch or dinner when nobody feels like cooking. I wanted to like this place but I had such an uncomfortable experience. I sat on writing this review for a few days. I came with my 2 children after leaving Kumon. At the same time we walked in (we are also black for context), a couple of young black boys also walked in attempting to sell candy, and the gentleman at the hostess stand said "black boys coming" in Spanish and then looked at us without speaking at all. I said "table for 3, please" and he sat us without saying a word. We sat at the table closest to the hostess stand and I couldn't help but notice him speaking and being kind to everyone else who was not black that he sat. The bright spot is there is a very young man who works at the stand checking people out who was an absolute doll and I could tell he was kind of overcompensating for his colleagues rudeness. We moved here from DC & this was very much a shock to me. The food was ok, not great but reasonably priced. The restaurant name may not be overly original, but the food certainly is! I ordered several items and all but one were great. The lime taco bowl (I added chicken for my protein) was a wonderful array of flavors - onions, lettuce, rice and avocados. I also tried the chorizo fries and, while slightly salty, it too was quite good. The fries are covered generously with cheese and sausage and topped with sour cream and guacamole. The chips and salsa was good too, and I wished they had given extra salsa for my to-go order as it would have been an excellent additive for my other dishes too. Note to self and others: ask for extra salsa! The only thing I didn't care much for was the mango habanero chicken wings. But truth be told, most people don't think Mexican restaurants when they desire wings so, it will be no loss to nix this from my next order. Besides that, well done! read more

We visited this place on a Thursday for lunch. There was a large parking lot with lots of space. The inside had a ton of seating too. We ordered from the lunch menu and also added some queso cheese to go with the chips and salsa that comes free to the table. The queso was good and the salsa had a bit of spice to it. Really good. The lunch Taquitos was one chicken and one beef, with a side of lettuce, tomato, quac, sour cream, and rice. We had the taco salad lunch special with beef and it was amazing. The flavor to the beef was perfect and came with more than I expected. If I had one complaint, it would be that service was a little slow for it to eat in during lunch, but overall we really enjoyed it and will be back again. read more

Umm, I was just introduced to this place about a month ago and I'm calling all my friends fake for that. Everyone I tell about this place, they all go "oh yea I love that place." They thought everyone knew about it. Well, I did not. I take a flight out to Waldorf about once a week and this has become my new happy hour spot noting I've been there 3 times over the last month. If you don't get there early, the bar area does fill up and it is packed at dinner time. The staff is friendly and efficient. The food is good and the drinks are just like I like my men, STRONG. Hola chicos!! I had a lovely time at this restaurant with my date, Herbert Hues. Herbert ordered a burrito and I ordered taquitos. They were amazing so very delicious! After we were done eating we decided to order some ice cream. The fried ice cream to be exact. It was beautiful and tasted delicioso. Herbert and I got a bit carried away at the end and stated wacking the ice cream and breaking the shell. We added margarita, salsa, chips, and some Dr Pepper to it! This place is in a lowkey shopping center where it doesn't seem to be too much going on. However this place has great customer service as well as food. They have happy hour too. I believe it $7 margaritas ending at 7pm on weekdays. Not 100% sure. But the food is always a hit, just one time I received extra hard fried chicken. Mexico Restaurant was a good recommendation in the Waldorf area. It's fairly big and was busy on a Saturday afternoon. I really enjoyed my meal. Service, however, was lackluster. Very, very slow and forgetful. If it wasn't for the fact that my food was enjoyable, the service would give me pause and I probably wouldn't return. I had a strawberry margarita, which was huge and strong. I liked it. I ordered the vegetable fajitas, which is a standard order for me at this type of Mexican restaurant. I was able to get two meals out of it, and am always a fan when that happens. I loved that they do not skimp on the vegetables. It was very flavorful. I enjoyed the chips and salsa too. My companions, who visit often, enjoyed their meals, and my boyfriend got two meals out of his burrito as well. My friend invited me out to this spot far far away from the city and to be honest, I didn't feel like taking that drive. Once they said it's a Mexican spot that has Happy Hour & since it was Taco Tuesday (my favorite day of the week), I had to go lol. This place was packed AF and so was the parking lot. SHRIMP FAJITAS OMGGGG these fajitas were well seasoned, super hot and delicious. Everything in this dish was so delicious, delectable and mouth watering. It was so much food for only $21 which included Shrimp, peppers, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, rice, guac, cheese, sour cream and beans. I can't stop thinking about how delicious this was and how I need this again in my life. BERRY MARGARITA This drink was sooooo strong yet sweet and icy. 1 drink was more than enough to get me right and for less than $10 WOW, I'm in disbelief. They definitely didn't skimp on the tequila plus they muddled fresh berries, soooooo fresh and damn good. Nelson our bartender was AMAZING!!!! From great service to outstanding drinks, I think he's my favorite bar guy lol. He put his love into making these drinks and was extremely helpful with taking our food orders even though he was beyond overwhelmed with requests. Very disappointed. My Wife and I decided to give this restaurant a try after 6 years of driving past the restaurant. Well, we finally gave it a try. When we first arrived the customer service was not good. We were looking around for a host. One gentleman was on phone and did not acknowledge us as his back was turned towards us leaning over the counter. We sat at the bar ordered our food and I wanted another drink, it was 10:11pm at this time. No one stated last call was at 10pm. The Lakers and OKC are playing it's 10:15 they cut off the TVs and they close at 11pm on Saturday. Everyone on the right side watching the game was African American. They forced us to leave. Mind you, there were a group of White Americans watching soccer and they kept their TVs on and continued to make their drinks when they refused to make my drink. If your establishment has a policy it should be enforced across the board. I do not recommend this restaurant and I will not spend another dime here and I advise others not too as well. read more

My wife and I went here for the first time last night after a recommendation from a friend. We have lived in the area for 2 years now and have never been. I wish we would have found this place much earlier as it is definitely the best Mexican restaurant in the area in my opinion. My wife ordered a quesadilla that came with shrimp, crab, and scallops. Both quesadillas came with rice as well. The quesadillas were absolutely packed, huge, and flavorful. Our bill was only $65 which is very cheap for two entrees and two alcoholic drinks. My only complaint is that our waiter was not very friendly or welcoming. He was attentive and did check on us quite often, but he definitely had an attitude like he didn't want to be there or did not necessarily want to serve us. But, the service he provided was not bad. My sister,nephew and I stopped by here for lunch since my dad was admitted to the hospital near by and was pleasantly surprised by my experience. My nephew got steak tacos which he liked. My sister got a chicken quesadilla meal. She said the chicken on the quesadilla was tender and flavorful and the rice and refried beans that came with it were seasoned well. I got a steak quesadilla which was good but the star was my add on A la carte shrimp taco. The shrimp was DELICIOUS! Hands down, it was the best seasoned and grilled shrimp I've ever had in my life! Family had a taste for Mexican food but don't feel like traveling to our normal spot, so we decided to give this place a try. You're seated right a way already a plus. Waiter came over quickly to get our starters and drinks. Anything with alcohol is a plus to all my readers that love a good drink with any meal lol. Kick things out with some tableside guacamole and mango habanero wings. The guacamole was ok I would have liked a little spice with it but it was ok. I enjoy Mexican food but was not happy with my menu choice. Ordered the fish tacos that had no flavor. (Fried Rock fish). They were just topped with chipolte sauce with a lot of lettuce. The noise levels vary depending on the time of day and any events that are going on. The service is polite and efficient, and the manager always follows up to make sure everything is to our satisfaction. Prices are also very good. We highly recommend Mexico Restaurant! They have a lot of adult beverages and a great bar. They are known for their margaritas. I returned to this restaurant after six years, excited to try it again. The tilapia and crab with cheese sauce and rice was disappointing. Instead of one fish cut in half. It tasted frozen, along with the crab. There was no sauce cheese sauce. The rice was plain with canned vegetables and no flavor. Now the four street tacos with flour tortillas, various meats with mexican rice and beans were outstanding, plentiful, and full of flavor. I'll definitely reorder those, but not the tilapia and crab. I came into the location on a Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. They brought chips and salsa, and the server never showed up. I had to get up from my seat, go up front, and ask if anyone was working on our section. Everyone walked around, did not say hi, or even smiled. When the server showed up, they offered no apology for the wait or introduction to who they were or what size drinks we wanted. When he brought our drinks out, they were the smallest size. The drink (I thought I ordered a coconut colada) tasted like blended ice. And that's after I sent back whatever was weird upon his return. He got the size of the drink right. The food came & I don't know what was going on. I asked for the manager, and one of the employees at the door playing on their phone said he's the manager. I wondered if the restaurant changed management because this is not the service I'm accustomed to, and they said no, same management. Their service and food went downhill. So yeah I love this place lol. I am now of the age where i have "spots" and this is definitely one of my spots. Honestly if you head there right now there's a good chance you'll see me sitting down stuffing my face with one of those huge fajitas. Can't wait for MEXICO NIGHT. I look forward to it all week. But on a serious note, they have great authentic Mexican cuisine at really reasonable prices. It's huge in the inside with tons of seating. They also have outside seating so that's pretty cool too. And they give you this nice warm tortilla chips with this salsa that has a little kick to it. I'll eat a whole basket of their chips by myself and have no shame.
