The menu has a little bit of everything, but this is definitely one of our go-to places when we're craving Mexican food and don't want to venture too far from home. It's casual, family-friendly, and perfect for an easy lunch or dinner when nobody feels like cooking. Nothing overly fancy, just good food, good drinks, and a spot that has become one of our regulars over the years. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the White Plains/Charles County area.

At the same time we walked in (we are also black for context), a couple of young black boys also walked in attempting to sell candy, and the gentleman at the hostess stand said "black boys coming" in Spanish and then looked at us without speaking at all. I said "table for 3, please" and he sat us without saying a word. We sat at the table closest to the hostess stand and I couldn't help but notice him speaking and being kind to everyone else who was not black that he sat. The bright spot is there is a very young man who works at the stand checking people out who was an absolute doll and I could tell he was kind of overcompensating for his colleagues rudeness. We moved here from DC & this was very much a shock to me. The food was ok, not great but reasonably priced. My margarita was pretty good though. 2 stars for the marg & the very nice young man.

The food came out super fast and piping hot, which we appreciated. We ordered the birria tacos and shrimp birria tacos. The flavor was good, but it did feel like the shrimp portion was a bit skimpy. Not enough shrimp just a lot of cheese. Also disappointed that they don't offer cocktails, which would really elevate the experience, so one star deducted for that. Still a good spot if you want quick, hot Tex-Mex with great service

Unfortunately, the queso was disappointing...,very watery and lacking any spice. I ordered a shrimp taco (without tartar sauce), and the shrimp was overcooked. My friend had the Fiesta Lime Chicken; if you order it, I recommend getting it without the chips, as mixing chips with grilled chicken and melted cheese created an odd texture. On a positive note, the beans...while a little soupy, were flavorful and included ground meat, and the pico was fresh and delicious. The rice tasted more like plain rice than traditional Spanish rice. We didn't order any drinks and stuck with water. Overall, I'd give this place 3 out of 5 stars. Since it was New Year's Day, I'm open to giving it another try to see if the experience improves.

So I just yelped and this place came up. I love a homey looking restaurant so I decided to give them a try. Now the inside has two area...the bar area with a few table tops and the other side where you can go to the counter and order and has several tables to sit. I decided to sit at the table tops on the bar side. The bartender came and took my order. I decided to start off with a strawberry margarita. Now, I was kind of disappointed in the margarita because if you asked me I would think it would be made from scratch. It was not...Smdh So the margarita was extremely sweet and tasted artificial. I ended up getting a couple of other drinks ended up being Mai Tai which tasted way better. Now on to the food...shrimp tacos were made with the small shrimps and was plentiful which was good. Just when I asked for cheese it was the queso fresco I believe which was not what I expected. I also ordered steak tacos and the steak was cut in strips like you would find at a Chinese restaurant. Not seasoned at all. The guacamole I ordered with a side of chips didn't have flavor or salt either. I was so disappointed again this restaurant seems to supposedly should have been "authentic" and everything should have tasted homemade and on point. Would I come back no... The side order of jalapeños were grilled good, but the green onions can't remember what they are actually called rates old and were left side like they were sitting around getting soggy. The amount of money I spent compared to what I got...it's one and done for me.

This is my second time coming here, and I came back solely for this frijol con queso pupusa. Maaan that thing is tasty! Especially when you dip it in their salsa . I'm knocking off a star for their carne asada taco. Now y'all know better than to be serving some steak that's dry and unseasoned. It was a shame too because that grilled leek was such a nice touch. I also got a horchata. Decent, but needed more cinnamon. I'll definitely be back for that pupusa though! And wash it down with one of their giant margaritas. Hope this helps!

Love the food here…read more Hate the DJ. I'm a first time mom who is the primary caregiver and full time work from home employee. I don't GET to come out often anymore. But when I do, we go to places with nothing but respect for the places we go, knowing we have a really well behaved baby makes it easier to go places. We came here because we used to love the service, food and atmosphere. Even with a small baby, we'd already been here twice. No issues. Came again with my 2.5 month old baby on a Friday after a really long week in the house. We left the restaurant early enough that by the time we left it was still daylight. Arrived around 5:30-6pm. Ordered our food and as it arrived a DJ came in. As we were almost done (about 39 min later) a DJ came in and started blasting club music. I knew we would've be able to stay much longer because the chatter mixed with the DJ would be too much anyways so I requested the check while we prepared to leave. Because it started getting SO loud I asked the host to see if the DJ could turn down the music while we got the check, asking for only 3-5 minutes specifically so my husband could pack up the baby and we could leave, and get out of their hair. The DJ turned up the music so loud we had to remove my daughter from the establishment before the check was paid. The host came back over to me and like in a club had to get really close to my face to apologize for the DJ Turing the music up even louder. He said " I am SOO SORRY! I have no idea what the DJ is doing or why they turned up the music, I asked to have it turned down and they turned it up." (Had ordered a second glass of wine since my husband was driving, and was the only two glasses I'd had since pregnancy). Didn't even get to finish my second glass. Needless to say I bought her earmuffs that night. It was the single most inconsiderate moment we've had since she was born. While I know that babies can be inconvenient for folks, our baby wasn't making a peep and was actually quite happy, and never got fussy, but we thought we were going to a sit down restaurant that was family friendly with her. We rushed out as soon as we realized it wasn't, but literally couldn't even get out of there fast enough!! I asked for a few minutes and got a proverbial slap in the face. This is how our communities fail women and mothers. We can't just hide in our houses until the baby is grown up. We deserve to be in places, and enjoy life too. Turning music up that loud is totally fine. I genuinely don't care, I can handle leaving the restaurant and being respectful to those who want to party on a Friday. But let get 5 min so I can pack up and pay. Management failed that night because we used to love coming here and unfortunately the amount of disrespect in that one gesture was enough for me to never go back. Having a DJ at happy hour is fine. Just know THAT DJ lost you a customer.

It had no idea about Sublime's 1994 Skunk Records promo of 40 Oz to Freedom. It had no recollection of the epic festivals out on Redondo Beach. It never once said "stoked" or "gnarly". It refused to "post up" at the Ralph's and looked at me funny when I said "dank". It hadn't even seen all of the Fast and Furious movies. Yeah, this tortilla wasn't definitely NOT from California. I ordered the Blackened Chicken Caeser burrito that I used to get all the time. It was really disappointing. The burritos are huge...maybe too big to wrap the Tortilla around. The guy who made mine managed to poke his fingers through it, so that the minute I went to pick it up, it split in half and all the contents came out on the wrapper. Fortunately, they have forks. The chicken was hard and dry. There wasn't enough Caeser dressing or lettuce on it for it to resemble a Caeser salad...not like in the good ol' days. I'll try again...but at different location.
