04/11/26 Stopped in for dinner and brought my brother and sister-in-law, who had never been here before. I ordered the pork tacos--they're always really good. I just wish they offered an option for two tacos with a side of fries to round out the meal a bit more. My wife ordered the pork sandwich with coleslaw and fries. My brother-in-law had a burger with fries and also ordered some chicken wings, and my sister-in-law went with a burger and coleslaw. After showing up to this establishment ten drinks deep, I made a bunch of requests on the jukebox. It wasn't loud enough for me, so I yelled at the bartender to turn that shite up. They did. Ambience: It was a beautiful day so we sat outside. Every time I've been here, I've done this. There is a spot in front of the restaraunt under a porch roof where you can enjoy the weather a little. You can look at the street and the shopping center across the street. It's not scenic but if it's nice out, do it. Service: Super friendly and professional. It's pretty much seat yourself but alert staff to get the okay. At least that's what we did. Not a hitch. Service was quick! Food: Well, I thought it was good. The pickle dumplings and the "petal "sauce" was really good! The burger, which was okay, could have had a little more seasoned (salt and pepper) mixed into the meat. If I could give this a 4.5 stars that would be perfect but I don't want to undersell this restaurant/bar! The staff was very accommodating of questions about what they'd personally get between food options, allowed beer sampling, and provided quick service. My only knock was on the chips and queso. The queso was great but the chips are cheap one's you'd get at a sporting event or high school concessions stand. Not bad but not necessarily worth the price. Definitely recommend stopping in and will be back myself. read more

We were the first customers on the Saturday we visted. We were hungry, so we jumped in with the pickle dumplings while sitting at the bar. Spot on every time we go to eat. Last few times cannot stop getting the queso chicken sandwich. Their disco fries (it's poutine) btw is a meal unto itself. Staff very friendly, beer selection is good. Nice and cozy location. Plenty of parking. read more

This was the second time I have been there. I think the first time was ok, so we gave it another try. This place is a pretty small little American Bistro (or at least that's what it's trying to be). It's got 5 tables for dining and a bar about 15-30 feet long. Not a lot if space, but it's cozy. The music was a little loud, especially since the speaker was in the back where we sat. Made it kind of hard to have a conversation. The staff were ok, not the most welcoming, but maybe the hostess/server was having a bad day, I don't know. Not rude just meh... Now to the food. I had the Caprese Melt sandwich. I love a good Caprese salad and was hoping that it would be similar flavors. I was very dissapointed. That sandwich has no business being on the menu. It just wasn't very good. The fact that it's served on Texas Tost didn't help. Maybe put it on a better bread (Cibatta maybe) and it might be better. It kind of tasted like an average grilled cheese sandwich to be honest. I would avoid it if possible. We also had the chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad was nothing spectacular either. It was lacking flavor and on the same Texas Tost. That was ok for that sandwich, but didn't help it al all. Finally, the Dill pickle dumplings. Don't let the name fool you, it's not what you will be expecting. It is basically a pickle slice in like a wonton wrapper and fried. Not a big fan.... Overall, I was pretty dissapointed overall. The food is good if you can actually get it. Carryout works best for us after practices, but the last 3 times we tried to call in an order no one answered. Quaint neighborhood establishment. As soon as the clock struck 1130am people started rolling in, which is a sign of good food to me. I had an opportunity to meet the owner, Gordy, who is extremely personable, very nice guy. There are two reasons why I didn't rate Gordys five stars. First, I didn't order anything for myself ‍ (but everything smelled delicious) . I was given a complimentary fresh squeezed cup of lemonade while I waited, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The second reason was because the food was supposed to be ready for pickup by 11:30am (granted there were 39ppl. who ordered) but it wasn't ready until 11:59am. normally I wouldn't be such a stickler about time but I was charged 20% gratuity up front for the staff to come early so that I could pick up the order up when they opeat 11:30am. Overall, if I'm ever in that area again, I will try Gordy's. read more

If you are in the area and want delicious wings in a chill bar atmosphere this is your place. It is also family friendly. My husband and I devoured the wings and some garlic parm fresh cut fries, it was delicious. Capped the dinner with a bite of a house made icecream sandwich which was also delicious. In a county with so few options food-wise Gordy's could really be killing it. Even with limited space they should stay with a packed house. I came here not to long ago with my wife, and it was okay at best. The servers were really nice, but the food really wasn't anything to brag about. We actually left here and went down the street to Bricks after ordering some appetizers. I just don't understand sitting on prime real estate and being sub-par. My husband and I visited Gordys on a Wednesday night. Arrived around 6 pm. There are about 5-6 tables inside and several outside. My husband got the mushroom Swiss cheese burger w/fries. My husband and I dropped by on a whim for lunch and we were definitely impressed. They have a nice outdoor seating area, but it was a little chilly when we went, so we ate inside. There aren't a lot of seats inside, but the ambiance is cozy and eclectic. They had a great selection of local beers on tap, which we love to see. Our server was great and checked on us often to make sure we had all we needed. I got the pulled pork nachos. They were a good portion and the pork was great, however the chips tasted a little stale. My husband got a bacon Texas burger and it was fantastic. You could tell it was homemade and fresh. The carrot fries left us a little disappointed. They were lukewarm and not crisp, almost like they got done before everything else and sat. As we were leaving, someone got the wings and they smelled so good, we will be back to try them! read more

It's a VERY small place. The bathrooms are directly beside tables. It's weird. But I won't take stars off for that. They can't help how small it is. But the menus were very dirty. The floor was dirty with food so I slipped when I tried standing up. Luckily I fell back into my chair so I didn't fall to the floor. I got the garlic parmesan wings. They were crispy, but didn't taste anything like garlic or parmesan. Everyone else liked their food. The waitress was super nice. But I wouldn't go back there. Just too small and details like the menu and floor being dirty just threw me off. With such a small place, it shouldn't be that difficult to keep it clean. First time at Gordy's, gotta give it a full five stars. I walked in thinking it was the entrance to the Mexican restaurant next door and realized, oops! This is not the right door. Rather than leave, we sat down at a table to enjoy lunch and wow, what a good move. The service was awesome. Fast, prompt, friendly and gave me a kick-ass recommendation for the stuffed pepper. The menu was really creative and had many neat ideas for sandwiches and starters. Unique yet classic dishes. YUM. The place was so clean it is hard to imagine. The bright white and black checkered tile floor reflected the spotlessly clean environment. I drank a cucumber mint mule and it was delightful. I would ABSOLUTELY go back to Gordys next time I'm around. The regulars at the bar all seemed nice and polite, and there was a family gathered around watching a football game in the back. Been wanting to try this place out for a while and finally got a chance to a few days ago. Went with my daughter and son at an off hour, so it wasn't busy. Inside seating it tight. This place seemed to be a burger spot mostly, so we ordered 2 bacon burgers, bbq wings, fries, and onion rings. My daughter and I were both disappointed with our burgers. They were small, hard, and flavorless. They were $16 burgers that tasted like $3 burgers. 5 guys is better, easily. Everything else was good. Service could've been better. My partner and I were throughly surprised! We were not inclined to eat dinner here, but our first choice was closed. From the outside, it looks a little like a local dive bar .... I am so glad that we decided to eat here despite outward appearances. This place was awesome! The draft beer choices were decent and the food was absolutely delicious. Despite a constant stream of both take-out and dine-in customers, the wait staff was on top of everything. We enjoyed a nice selection of local and local-ish craft beers - thank you for supporting the craft brewery scene! If you can only order one thing from the menu, then order the pickle dumplings appetizer. These are to die for; I almost decided that my entire dinner was going to be pickle dumplings - YUM! After much debate, my partner and I decided on an order of pulled pork street tacos and the sirloin steak street tacos - both were delicious. On top of fantastic food and drink, the bill was extremely reasonable. We will definitely be returning; next time we will try the burgers as there were some great choices! I think the two best things we had were the french fries and the garlic parm wings. Both had a lot of flavor and were nice and crispy. I was a bit disappointed with the burger. The patty was pretty thin and wasn't juicy. The bun kind of overwhelmed it. I didn't try the tacos or the Philly steak melt but they didn't seem to have complaints. Stopped in for dinner order the Chesapeake Wings and a couple burgers. The drinks came out fast and were nice and cold on a warm day. The wings were good and had plenty of old bay but a little on the small. The burgers were great and the fries were good but the old bay fries had way to much salt and old bay. I've been getting takeout from Gordy's since the coronavirus shutdown first happened. Their takeout window is super convenient for pickup. My favorites here are the wings, philly stuffed pepper, burgers, and onion petals. The food is good, the staff is friendly, and the orders are on point! Give them a shot! read more

Co worker wanted to get lunch here and I had never been. I did wind up ordering a cheeseburger with old bay fries and 6 boneless wings. I ordered the cheeseburger medium but it was over well done and dry and hard. I couldn't eat it at all. Fries were good and wings not bad. I would maybe have given it another shot another day but the guy who took my order wasn't very nice and then the girl who took my money either. So I'm good wont be returning. Sad because we don't have very many good places to eat in Calvert. Oh and they overcharged me 5 dollars which the girl did fix after I brought it to their attention.
