This was a solid, up and down culinary experience. The establishment itself looks nice inside except for the ripped up booth seats. They are very bad and in need of repair/replacement. It definitely would not make me want to eat in. I tried several dishes. The chicken Pad Thai was okay, and it was plentiful. While I have had better, I appreciated the nice portion size, I also tried the V1 vermicelli special (pork and shrimp) . The tail lwas eft on the shrimp, which is something I don't enjoy when I'd rather eat my food with utensils instead of my fingers. I was also disappointed that they only gave 2 pieces of shrimp. The pork strips in the dish were quite flavorful and tasty, this was what made the fish above average, especially considering the shrimp limitations as well as the bland pasta. I also tried the butter wings. While the wings were a bit tough they had a nice butter flavor that I truly enjoyed. Another positive was the friendly staff. A decent place overall that I may revisit, and with a bit more execution it would easily be a 4 star restaurant to me. read more

I like the food here and I always tip at least 10% for carry out. Today my order was $17, l left a $2.20 tip and I asked for an extra fish sauce. The lady said it was .85, I sad I just left you a $2+ dollar tip, then I said never mind and walked out. Not sure why this place is giving 3 stars. The hunnie decided we stop here because I've been a bit under the weather & some soup is just what I needed. This place was packed and we were greeted with a smile and welcomed by the cashier taking orders. She was patient, friendly and very helpful. I ordered my summer rolls and shrimp pho with no bean sprouts and i thought it would've come with carrots and broccoli however their veggie options are boc choy and mushrooms. So extra onions and cilantro it is and my other half he ordered the beef vermicellis dish. We got our food to go and the flavor of my soup was really good. No complaints from me. I wasn't feeling the greatest and was craving something warm, so I decided to try Pho D'Lite. The atmosphere is a little dated, but still comfortable overall. I went with the P1, which the server mentioned is a popular choice. The dish came out surprisingly fast and was solid--while I've definitely had better pho elsewhere, this spot is convenient and hits the spot when you need something comforting. I also tried the jasmine tea with honey, and that was the highlight--absolutely amazing. The service was excellent as well. My server was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made the experience better, so she definitely earned a full tip. I ordered takeout from Pho D'Lite in Waldorf, MD, and was completely shocked by the service I received. When I arrived to pick up my order, I asked the associate at the counter for a small empty container so I could use the hoisin sauce that's available at the dine-in tables. She told me I would have to pay extra just for the container. I explained that I didn't need the container if I could just pour the sauce directly on my food like any dine-in customer would, but she still refused and insisted I had to pay. Let's be clear: the hoisin sauce is already freely available at the tables for customers eating in. There is no logical reason why a paying customer picking up food to-go should be treated any differently. We're all paying customers. Because of this ridiculous and petty policy, I gave the food back and demanded a refund. The Black associate at the counter was rude and dismissive, and the Latina woman who claimed she's "sometimes the manager" handled the situation poorly, offering no real solution and no sense of customer care. This experience was beyond frustrating. It's not about the sauce or the container, it's about how poorly they treat their customers. I will never return to this location and would strongly encourage others to think twice before giving them your money. So I have had pho from this place a total of 4 times and it's a 50/50. The first time I had for myself it was, "ehh,' it'll do for now kind of taste. The 2nd time my wife and I had it and it was pretty good, the broth was on point! The third time, it was really good!, Then today, it was lacking that rich, savory and slight sweet flavor to it. We went there for lunch on my day off, myself the wife and our 5 year old little girl. they do not have a kids size meal there so it is all adult sizes. We ordered 3 of the Pho D'lite Soup, which is the beef works. It has the thinly sliced eye of round, lean brisket, fatty brisket, tendon, and tripe. And we also had 1 order of summer rolls. The summer rolls were lacking a bit in volume and then in flavor. The ones we had were more stuffed with lettuce than noodles and about one shrimp sliced down the middle into two. Every place that I have been to and also learned with summer rolls is that it should have about a 70/30 noodles to lettuce ratio. Also the size of it was lacking a bit, they were just double the size of lumpia. If you don't know what lumpia is, I advise you too look it up and know that it is very delicious. Going back to the summer rolls, they should be the size of 1 1/2 egg rolls and have three shrimp in them. Also the dipping sauce is usually the creamy brown peanut sauce, but I prefer the squeeze bottle of Sriracha. Now onto the main attraction, the pho noodles. Starting with the broth, when we sat in the restaurant it was full of that rich, savory and lightly sweet flavor. When I brought it home today, it was lacking the rich and savory, but it had some bland sweetness to it. I had to add some ginger and Chinese five spice from my cupboard to give it some life. I know we all have off days, but I gave this one 4 chances to have a winning record in my book. 50/50 isn't winning, it's just being ok with what you got in my book. The amount of noodles were also a bit lacking, not by a lot though. It's enough to almost get you full, so I usually get an extra order of noodles. When our bowls came out they came with the raw uncooked meats and fresh vegetables, if you didn't already know. The meats were a decent small amount, smelled fresh and not frozen looking. The vegetables were comprised of bean sprouts, thinly sliced jalapeños, fresh basil with the stem attached, thinly sliced onions, green onions and some cilantro. The food was hitting the spot at the restaurant, but at home not so much like I said before. So I had to come to realize that depending on the day and also the time is when you will get a different flavor or feel of the food. Don't get me wrong this place is still decent, just hasn't shown me good consistency. Think about when places you eat at are better at different times of the day, remember that whenever you order food. I've learned that at this point. The service is always great there, when I pick up my food and when I order my food for pick up. Our waitress that day was very attentive, the inside wasn't busy at all for lunch during the weekday. I don't know about weekends at night, so keep that in mind as well. Customer service was great and that is one my big non negotiable about a restaurant. The customer service is always the first thing you really notice when get a good feel for a place. Because places that look like a mess can have some of the best food, you know I'm right! The ambiance inside is reminiscent of a mom and pops feels that doesn't do too much and does more than a little. The bamboo was a good touch, gave it an asian feel to it along with the leaves. I'm part Okinawa, so please don't judge me or say im being offensive when I say that. So take this as my experience with Pho D'lite and of course make your own judgement on this establishment. This is one of my favorite spots in Waldorf! The bamboo décor and self seating let you know this place is about the food. You won't wait long for someone to bring your ice water and ask for your order. Spoons and chopsticks are the default, forks are offered. Pho Creation is my go to. It's a fulsome meal anyway you order and the garnish is always fresh and beautiful. Another nuance of the dish is that it gets spicer as you get to the bottom of the bowl. There is a delightful tipping point when you sinuses begin to open up. Stop here to clear your pallet, call you mom, or write a review. The best kept secret are the Crispy Butter Wings. Easily a 9, akin to America's best and superior in the garlic flavor and aroma. While prices are creeping up a bit, it's an inexpensive dine out option tucked into a part of the plaza that sees less traffic. Come find it! read more

Welp, Yelp! I found this great little jewel by happenstance! I'm a Pho connoisseur of sorts, and THIS Pho was delicious! The broth was a tad sweeter than we prefer, but all the other herbaceous and spicy notes came through nicely. The meat was perfectly sliced and tender. We also ordered the Penang curry with pork, and it was scrumptious!! Some of the best we've had since being in Bangkok. The prices are reasonable too, so it won't break the bank to visit frequently. I have been dining at Pho D'lite for years and I have never done a review. Well, today I felt the need to because my shrimp pho was absolutely delightful! Now yes, I'm laid up due to dental surgery...but this pho never disappoints! The broth was flavorful. The shrimp were nice & plump (pause) and my extra basil was present. I ordered the Pho Noodle Soup Plain and my dining partner ordered a Pho Noodle Shrimp. We waited about 15 min for his but after 30 minutes mine never came. This restaurant serves up the best Pho in all of Charles county and surrounding counties. Fortunately it's close to where I frequent other establishments in the area so convenience is key. Speaking of convenience, their hours and prices are reasonable. The last time I went a couple weeks ago I selected the #1 combo which I believe is the most common selection. Absolutely delicious. I don't understand why this place only has 3 stars. It should have 4.5 - 5 stars. The place is always filled with customers, so it's obvious the food is good. The servers are very friendly, service is fast, prices are good. This is my second time here. First time I got carry out, delicious and satisfying. Second time I did dine-in, even more delicious and satisfying. What I love about this place is that they have veggie/vegan pho option, loaded with fried tofu, mushrooms, and bok choy I can't get enough of it!! This review is for before Covid, I haven't been since last year so any thing they may do differently now I'm unaware of. This place is okay, not the worst not the best. I have actually never been without using a Groupon (that I think they stopped doing). So for that price it's not bad. The Pho is good, nice and filling. Thai tea is good, too anything else I've had I honestly couldn't remember whether it was good or not. I just come for the Pho. The restaurant itself never seemed that clean, tables often left for a while before being cleaned or trash on the floor. Walk in and seat yourself, which a sign on a piece of paper reads. Also noticed that everyone working ( besides cooks maybe) was usually a teenager and pretty much each time I came it was new faces. Guess it's just an easy job for high school/college kids. But with that you get what you get, some people just want the paycheck and don't care much for the job. I was told by a friend that if it's a Groupon for Pho it's most likely not going to be the best/authentic. So if you're looking for a quick pretty cheap meal no frills this is great but if you want some 5 star Pho and a more welcoming environment I suggest you go elsewhere. read more
