Very happy to find pho on this side of town! This spot is tucked inside a strip mall, so parking was easy with no stress. I came in craving pho, but a few TikTok videos convinced me to try the Bò Kho with noodles instead of the baguette. I started with a summer roll, and I have to say I was disappointed. I make spring rolls at home, and this one felt extremely basic. It only had vermicelli noodles, shrimp, and romaine lettuce. No cucumber, no carrots, no basil, no scallions, none of the texture or fresh flavors that usually balance a summer roll. It wasn't awful, just...flat. This was also my first time having a summer roll where I had to pick out shrimp shells as I ate it, which definitely took away from the experience. For my main dish, I ordered the Bò Kho, and the broth did not disappoint. It was rich, flavorful, and a really nice switch-up if you want something pho-adjacent but a little different. The meat was extremely tender, though the pieces were cut into long chunks, so you basically have to bite through them if you want to eat it together with the noodles. Overall, this is a cute little lunch spot if you're craving something warm and comforting. If you don't want to drive too far and just need something to take the edge off your pho craving, it's worth a try. My rating is more of a 3.7 than a 3, but for is just simply too high in my opinion. Semi-regular lunch spot for me and my office mates. Located off Allentown Road directly across from Joint Base Andrews, Pho Viet is the only Vietnamese restaurant in this part of Prince Georges County, MD. This place exudes a very "mom and pop" feel. Conforms with the Asian ethos of featuring lots of indoor greeny from (bordering on excessive) potted plants; the display in front of the main window is impressive with several plants reaching over 10 feet high! In typical pho joint fashion, you walk in, are promptly greeted by the friendly staff, and then have open seating at any available table. My colleagues typically enjoy sitting in the "main" dining room, although there is a second area off to the right. I've had the pho and it's decent, but the underrated entree is their beef stew, aka the Bo Kho. Nowadays, I will judge a Viet place by this dish, as it involves hours of slow simmering to ensure tender pieces of beef, ultra soft carrots, and a hearty flavorful broth. Check, check and check. The "traditional" method Bo Kho is served is with a toasted French/Viet style baguette; but I usually order it with noodles (slight upcharge). Pho Viet only serves rice noodles...which is a slight bummer as I like egg noodles. Things I like about the meals here are: * Good portion size - unlike at many Viet restaurants now, the bowl of noodle soup here is generous relative to the price. The Bo Kho has lots of pieces of beef and an appropriate amount of noodles. Only slight critique is this dish could use some of the more traditional pieces of meat like soft stewed tendon for texture. * Flavor - the broth is a deep brown-ish red hue, and is thick with lot of rich "beefy" notes. Add some of the accompanying aromatics such as the Thai Basil, jalapenos, bean sprouts, and a squeeze of lime for freshness and crunch. * Value - (as of this review) the Bo Kho is $15, which is a "bargain" relatively speaking. To me, Pho Viet provides good dining value for the money. My colleagues also ordered pork cha gio for the table. It was fine and the thing of note, was the fry was not overly greasy but the nuoc mam dipping sauce was (predictably) too sweet. The majority of instances, I brown bag my lunch. This spot isn't too far from the base. It's in a plaza that is somewhat questionable at times, but it's there. My experience was great. The vibe is super casual here. People from all over were rolling in in everything from suits to leggings and sweats. The service was great. The food was quick, employees were kind and the price was right! A large chicken bowl with beef broth, pork spring rolls, a Coke, extra noodles and extra broth (for the kid) for $23. And yes, they take cards. There's a surcharge but it's nominal. The staff here is super nice. They seem to be very personable with their regular customers and they know each other by name. I loved that I saw that because there is a carry out nearby that I have been going to since I was a little girl and they treat me like a literal stranger. Service was quick And our food was tasty! Decided to order pho nearby for the first time in Maryland. For a large, $16.50, bowl of pho (specifically the #1 Tai), this is the smallest order I have ever received for the price but also the size that is advertised which is "large". I ordered one for me and my husband and I ordered a small bowl of pho for my 2 year old with meatballs. For $14, the amount for price is a literal scam. I don't have a picture because my daughter was ready to eat but it was about the same size of noodles with about 7 sliced pieces of meatball (if you go to an Asian grocery store, it is about 2 Asian beef meatballs). If you are desperate for pho because you don't want to make the drive to DC, then go crazy. But as someone who has had many bowls of pho in my lifetime, this is not worth the money at ALL. Even added an Iced Matcha to my order and it was delicious. Despite having no veggies in my soup- my soup was still flavorful and delicious as well as the summer and veggie spring rolls. The restaurant itself was spacious and plenty of room. I hope this place does good business and stay open. From the looks of business and the shopping center this restaurant is located....IDK... Popped into this little spot after a day of thrifting ( if you know you know) because I was feeling a little bit under the weather. There's something about PHO that warms the insides and makes you feel better. This is one of my local haunts because it's near home The place was empty. I sat myself and was immediately provided a menu with all of the options. So service was definitely not an issue. Mind you, this little space in the strip mall is dated. They definitely need an upgrade. It looks like something from the 1980's. Not pretty at all. I ordered the spring rolls and the pho with chicken broth and shrimp. I've always wanted to try something different from my usual. I wasn't disappointed. Of course they served the traditional condiments; jalapeno; fresh basil; lime and bean sprouts. Hosin and sriracha were already on the table. I've had better pho. Honestly but this was flavorful. Broth was clear and well seasoned. I counted 6 large shrimp in my small serving bowl. The highlight for me was the pork spring rolls! Hot, crunchy and delicious. Served with the dipping sauce. I could have had two orders of that and been quite satisfied. All in all, if you're in the area and craving something warm and cozy in your belly, this Pho will probably be a good choice not great but definitely delicious. read more

They do a great job on their Vietnamese Coffee and Thai teas and their rolls are as to be expected. ***I would say if you are a Pho fanatic or a Bahn mi fanatic, then this is NOT the place for you. So this hidden gem was excellent. The Banh mi sandwich was roughly $6.50 and worth every penny. The french bread was crispy on top and soft on the inside. The slices of beef was tender and flavorful like it was gently grilled. The pickled vegetables were crisp, seasoned, and piled high. The sauce inside was sweet with a little tangy-ness. I was shocked this was so close to me and suprised I haven't seen to many reviews on this place. My wife had the beef pho and she stated it was absolutely a flavor explosion! I've been to so many Pho places , and it's just bad practice to be so stingy with the meat and noodles, there are basically gonna charge you $15 for broth, I even got a large. I was disappointed with the service, especially given the positive reviews I had read. - The Veggie Spring Rolls were soggy inside. When I brought this to the waitress's attention and requested to have them taken off my bill, she refused. Instead, she condescendingly asked what else I thought should be removed from my bill since I didn't enjoy the spring rolls. It was frustrating to have her stand there and insist I eat my pho in front of her. - As for the Brisket Pho, the meat had far more fat than actual meat. The broth base tastes amazing, I can tell they take pride in making sure it is perfect as mush as possible. this is not a hurry up and get the food out kind of place. I asked how much was the bottle water we ordered when heading out and was going to leave a generous tip but as soon as I started talking the lady who I assume was owner got angry making a scene about only doing business here and not ordering then tried to shake me down for $10 in cash I had in my hand.
