This place is located inside of The Spot food hall next to the Branch Avenue Metro. Plenty of parking and easily accessible (ramp access is a plus for those who may need it). I loved the concept of ordering using a tablet. Each restaurant inside of the food hall has a tablet right in front for easy ordering. I ordered the pad Thai with chicken and spring rolls. I came around lunch time and the food was ready in about 10 minutes. Everything came out piping hot which is one of the most important factors for me when ordering food out. The noodle portion was generous, enough for two or three servings depending on how hungry you are. This pad Thai included the noodles, bean sprouts, spring onion, red onion, scrambled egg, and of course chicken (lemon wedge on the side). The flavor was a bit sweet, but it wasn't bad at all. Just a different flavor than what I'm used to for pad Thai. My only complaint about the pad Thai was that the chicken that was used had a gummy texture, similar to the chicken used for bourbon chicken in the malls. I did not eat any more of the chicken and honestly could have done without it. The spring rolls were okay. I was excited to try them because they were not made with shrimp. But they were just too greasy for me, and this took away from the flavors. Seating is open since it's located inside of the food hall. I was looking forward to this order. I ordered chicken pad Thai spring rolls, which was supposed to be by one get one free and mango sticky rice. They did not send me the extra order of spring rolls. I don't even care about that. The issue was the chicken pad Thai I knew as soon as I opened it and could smell the spice radiating it was so spicy it was red. This is located in a pool hall called The spot. One of many selections I decided to try this one out because I like trying new type places. Grabbed an appetizer and free drink with Yelp check in for #SummerFoodHalliday. Service was great, ordering was easy (I ordered at the counter, but they also have a kiosk). I came to Thai Yum here on a Friday afternoon. The space was clean and I found seating almost immediately. I ordered the lunch special which was pepper shrimp with rice. I placed my order at the counter. The staff was pretty polite during our brief encounter. My meal: The flavor of the sauce on the shrimp was really tasty, but the shrimp were slightly undercooked which was a little disappointing. I checked in with Yelp and received my free beverage which was a Thai drink; I chose the Mango flavor. It was a little different in taste. Curry Fried Rice It was just okay. Not enough curry in the dish at all. I ended up taking the rice home to doctor it up with more curry. The combination version came with only 3 pieces of shrimp in the whole bowl. Good portion size. It was also a little sweet which is odd. I am a Thai food snob though. Did I get a bad batch of curry chicken? Just my luck. I too went there for a Yelp Elite event.I asked if there was anything that I couldn't order, they said "anything". Can I have the Chef Special? Response "We don't have it yet" Well I thought, if you are going to act like a Jamaican restaurant and post on your menu what you don't have ( and yes I am Jamaican), then I'll order the Curry Chicken And yes I have had delicious Asian curry before. Just ordered the beef pho on uber eats and it wasn't good. I was skeptical ordering pho from a Thai place and should have trusted my gut! The beef doesn't really taste good and the worst part is that it didn't come with siracha or hoisin sauce. I had the sticky rice and mango first, and yes, I know it is a dessert item... But I couldn't wait!!! The contrast between the sticky rice and delightful mango was perhaps made in heaven! This restaurant makes absolutely irresistible mango sticky rice. I've been to numerous Thai restaurants and ordered this dish many times. This spot surely adds up with the best of them. A must have items.  Next, I sampled the pineapple rice. The dish had seasoned  jasmine rice with chunks of fresh pineapple, bell pepper, and onion. Now, this dish was fairly good, and I enjoyed every bite of it. The only thing I will say is that I wish the pineapples were slightly sweeter. Otherwise, it is a very enjoyable dish. Last,Thai basil chicken is a classic Thai dish that is beloved by many foods, and this spot did it justice. The texture of the dish was tender and juicy, with the chicken absorbing all the flavors of the basil and jalapeno. The combination of flavors and textures and the egg on top made this dish a delightful and satisfying meal. The portion size was great! The customer service was excellent, and the price point was perfect! This place is a must try, and I tip my hat off to the chef that made this excellent meal! I was able to try stir fry ramen for the first time ever at Thai Yum, and it did not disappoint! This was my second time at The Spot Food Hall in the past week to take advantage of the Yelp Elite perk. There was some confusion when I first checked in about the Yelp swag, which was a set of chopsticks but eventually, we were able to figure it out! The staff were extremely friendly and did a great job answering my questions. I opted for one of the more popular dishes, stir fry Ramen with beef and shrimp. It was so yummy and a great portion size. I had to split it to 2 meals. I also got the passionfruit flavored drink and that was good too. We ordered takeout from them tonight. Had the basil chicken, tofu pad Thai, wontons, and papaya salad. This is a solid place. The pad Thai had wonderful flavor and a good heat to it that wasn't overpowering, though I do wish it there was a little less heat. I was not expecting mushrooms in my pad Thai but it actually went in there pretty well. The tofu also had a lot of flavor and not too hard. The wontons also had good flavor and the sweet and sour sauce to it. The papaya salad is a standard Thai papaya salad, though my preference is the Lao style papaya salad. The food was very hot and made fresh. I think this is a solid Thai restaurant spot. read more

I made a pick up order and when I came in the associate said they didnt have any. Didnt elaborate at all so the assumption can be made that they had no ingredients on hand. When I asked to cancel the order that they didnt make they refused. I talked to customer service and only by the time I drove all the way home did they say they could remake the order, 30 minutes later. Wasnt willing to work with customer, only opted to make the order when issue was addressed by leadership, and unrealistically expected me to waste gas and time when they could have communicated to me at the store that there was a wait for my order instead of just saying they didnt have any. read more

I didn't like the broth at all, it didn't taste like chicken, it taste like tap water & salt. Gave Thai Yum! a try on Easter Monday afternoon. The food hall was clean and nice and quiet right before the lunch rush. I ordered a small tom yum soup and lychee basil seed drink. The server was very helpful in assisting me with my drink selection, can't go wrong with lychee if you like Asian flavors. The soup had squid and fish balls and a nice flavor. I was surprised though, when I ordered the soup not anticipating it had coconut milk in it. It's ok, I don't mind coconut milk but if it had said Tom Kha, I would've known it was coconut milk-based and probably wouldn't have gotten. This review includes their menu with prices (see photos). This eatery fully opened on May 11, 2023. They are located in The Spot Food Hall. My wife and I decided to visit after talking with the owner before he fully opened. He was friendly, interesting, and energetic. They sell pho and fried calamari. Dishes you wouldn't expect at a Thai eatery. We got the following: 1) Papaya salad    It had shredded papaya, iceberg lettuce, sliced cherry tomatoes, diced red chiles, red cabbage, and shredded carrots. The sauce was spicy hot with mild flavors of sugar, fish sauce, and citrus. Everything was fresh. This is a good tasting salad, except it could be better with shrimp paste. That's a Laotian thing. Note: You can get it with or without crushed peanuts. 2) Drunken Noodle    It had wide rice noodles stir-fried in chili and garlic sauce with scallion, onion, bell pepper, and basil. It comes spicy or not spicy. It comes with a choice of chicken, beef, veg/ tofu, squid ($1 extra), shrimp ($1.25 extra), or combo (chicken/shrimp/beef $2.99 extra). We chose beef. The beef was somewhat tender and moist with a good flavor. The dish was oily and moderately spicy hot with mild flavors of garlic, onion, and brown sauce. The brown sauce tasted like a blend of fish sauce, soy sauce, and sugar. It was nicely balanced. They should increase the brown sauce so the flavor can shine through. I've had more flavorful versions elsewhere. 3) Pad Thai    It had rice noodles stir-fried in tamarind sauce with egg, scallion, basil, and bean sprouts. You can get it with or without crushed peanuts. It comes with the same choices of protein as in the Drunken Noodle. We chose beef. The beef was moist and a little chewy with a good flavor. The sauce was too weak. It was mild in flavor. Tamarind sauce should be a little tangy and slightly sweet balanced with salty fish sauce. The sauce needs some improvement. The ingredients were fresh and cooked well.    The dining areas and restrooms were clean. There are 3 stalls in the women's restroom. The men's restroom has 2 urinals and 2 stalls. Both restrooms are handicap accessible. There are five cash operated arcade machines and a punch measuring machine in the dining area. I included photos of them. The food was enjoyable, and the service was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The parking is free and plentiful. The atmosphere is relaxed. What's not to like? I ordered the green curry with just vegetables and it was like a curry soup with diced vegetables. I then ordered the pad Thai it was okay but not what I expected. My friend got the shrimp Thai basil friend rice, she said it was good. The rice came with 4 shrimp lol. I switched the two dishes I didn't like (pad Thai and green curry) for the Thai basil rice as soon as I got the rice she found a piece of fabric in her rice and had to return it. They lady tried to tell her it was egg but it was not. Then I tasted that fried rice and it was so salty. Overall service was okay because they did make the exchanges and refunds. The food hall was hot as hell but had plenty seating. I would not go back I was left with a dish I could not eat (extremely salty) so that was a waste of money. read more

I've actually visited the Spot location numerous time, but recently tried this particular restaurant, which recently opened. I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp, Singapore noodles with chicken, chicken fried rice and dumplings. While the items were not cheap, they were definitely plentiful. Additionally, none of the items disappointed in flavor. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars was due to the wait of 30 minutes for my food. However, they were very friendly and apologetic regarding the wait, which is a positive in customer service. I definitely would dine again there. read more

I got the Shrimp Pad Thai and it was the worst Pad Thai I've ever had. It had a funny smell and was so bland, I threw it away.

Their food is okay. I am very disappointed with my delivery though. I ordered a "coconut mango pudding" and they sent half of the pudding and wrote on top of the lid "I'm sorry, we ran out of pudding". I would have appreciated it if the staff could have called me for an exchange or refunded my money. Overall, the service was not my cup of tea. read more
