Consistently a wonderful experience. From the lessons ilon the different oils and sauces and how they eat it. The older gentleman is always so warm and humble but he knows his food. The service was much better than the food! The fact that it was nearly empty on a weekend during the evening was a sign, but me and my friend gave it a try. The ambiance felt like a carry-out restaurant with a bar in the center to watch games and the bathroom wasn't the best. The restaurant was dated, but that wouldn't have mattered if the food was good. Unfortunately, it was NOT! We ordered appetizers and entrees, and each dish tasted bland or too salty, lacking the vibrant flavors and quality that we were anticipating--- disappointing our pallets and dining experience. I saw a lot of positive reviews about this place. They must have had a different cook in the kitchen when we were there because the food missed the mark! I've been wanting to try this place for a while. So I finally went despite, some of the bad reviews about the cleanliness. I ordered chicken fried rice lunch special. To be honest I was shocked when I saw the portion size, very disappointed. Not to mention the lunch price was a bit high. Moving forward, the food was okay but not flavorful like thought it would consider the name of the restaurant. Halfway through eating I found pieces of hair in my food, that was enough for me to throw my food away. I understand, things happen sometimes but even the customer service wasn't the the best when I went inside to get my food. No thank you for your business. Nestled in a small strip next to the mall, Thai Flavor was a nice surprise. The air wasn't turned on so it became very hot, very quickly. Good place for kids. I ordered the basil fried rice with steak. It was good. Slightly greasy and bland but the rice was cooked well and the produce used was fresh. Loved the Thai tea which was made slightly less sweet for me. My husband had the drunken noodles and a Mai Thai. Neither were particularly good. The portions were generous. On yet another trip to the National Capital Region, I found myself nestled in a booth with my sister and family in the familiar and ever so flagrant flavors of Thai Flavor located in Waldorf MD. I left MD in 2007 and still love coming back to my favorite Thai restaurant that provided me with so much comfort back in the day whenever I get the chance .. While it sucked to drive from Fairfax in almost an hour of traffic it was worth the drive to once again partake in delicious appetizers of Salmon rolls prepared with lightly fried Salmon and sticky rice & plump Mussels steamed in a cilantro and basil broth ... After inhaling our apps we shared tender Flaming Beef, Fried Rice and Crispy Flounder entrees and took in the amazing flavors with each bite. As always the food did not disappoint and I can't believe that almost every Friday for almost 3 years I visited Thai Flavor and requested that my Salmon Rolls arrive with no caviar and it's funny that the servers had my order memorized before I arrived... ( eek dined here too much ) but FYI while it was tasty on the lips this food will murder your hips as much of this comfort food does not fall into the healthy category and should be consumed sparingly :) Trust me... I've waited too long to write this review. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Waldorf. I've had the seafood curry and the fried rice probably over 20 times. I'm still sampling the menu one by one, but so far everything is super good! I also like salmon rolls and the Sea Breeze. Pad Thai and larb gai entrees are great choices here at this restaurant. There are only two Thai restaurants that I know of in the Charles co. area, Southern MD and the other one is in La Plata. This is the best Thai food in Waldorf. It's a little difficult to get out of the strip mall but it's easyish to get in depending on where you are entering from. The food is amazing. I don't think I've received anything that I don't like. I especially love the spring rolls. I miss the curly carrot as decoration with it but still loving it. We carry out from here frequently. They used to deliver years ago but now they are on the various food delivery services. It's family owned and run. It's beautiful on the inside. The food is very filling but save room for desert. Extremely disappointing shrimp pad Thai! I came it 30 mins prior to closing after late day at work. Would have been better if they just said kitchen is closed if they were going to just throw noodles on the wok with some shrimp. It was a takeout order. When I arrived to my hotel 20 minutes later, the noodles were stuck together and so flavorless. I live in Philly and they have amazing Thai authentic restaurants. I was really looking forward to it. We have eaten at this place a few times over the past few years and always enjoyed the food. That changed last night. We ordered angel shrimp, pad thai, chicken pineapple fried rice, chicken prik pow, and panang curry. Everything was terrible. The angel shrimp was oddly grainy and tasted a bit off. The pineapple fried rice lacked seasoning (no curry at all) and was light on the pineapple and chicken, also had an odd flavor. The prik pow tasted like straight fish sauce (pretty much inedible). The panang curry was too sweet to eat. The worst thing is I ended up with 'thaiarrhea'. Not a pleasant way to spend the past few hours of my life. My son was luckier than me -- his stomach rejected the food last night. This place is off our list. Maybe it will be better for you. read more

Ate here tonite with my wife and son and it was great. An unassuming dining room was more than made up for by the delicious food and generous portions. While many of the dishes were marked as hot on the menu, they weren't so hot you couldn't enjoy them. Entrees were good but we especially enjoyed the papaya salad, spring rolls and soups. I'm writing this SPECIFICALLY for the Customer Service or should I say LACK of Customer Service from the older man who works there. I FREQUENT that location when in Waldorf and have to visit at LEAST 5 times monthly and order 2 orders MINIMUM and EVERY SINGLE TIME the older man is working he gives me the hardest time with condiments. Sir I'm spending $40 MINIMUM why are you acting as if it's such a hardship to part with some damn hot sauce and pepper flakes?! Meanwhile if you sat down and ate there you can get ALL of the condiments that you want. When the lady or even the younger man is working, if you ask they'll give you whatever you asked for WITH A SMILE on their face instead of being told "no we don't have any today" meanwhile if you look behind the counter there's a whole box with exactly what you asked for and was refused RIGHT THERE. I really don't understand what the issue is but he needs to be addressed and have his behavior adjusted. read more

So, I've only tried the mango sticky rice from here thus far BUT it is the best mango sticky rice I've had. The desert is only $5 and is not too sweet, it allows the flavor of the ripe mango to really shine. The warm rice and the little bit of sauce and crunchy bits on top are absolutely amazing. So I had to update my review. I just ordered the pineapple fried rice with shrimp and this is what I got. I paid 14.95 plus tax for a big order of rice with 5 shrimp! Like are you serious! Not ordering from here ever again. If u get a shrimp dish it should at least amount to what you are paying for.
