This restaurant will NOT disappoint! If you are a fan of Jamaican/Caribbean food you will enjoy any meal you choose to order. While this location is currently in a mall they would absolutely thrive even more as a full blown stand alone restaurant. I ordered the rasta pasta with jerk salmon, SPICY (as expected), and flavorful. Also, while the prices are somewhat high I believe they give you your money's worth for sure. All of the fam enjoyed their meals too, I wish I had more pictures to share but I've already personally ordered food from here twice and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. I give them 4 stars because I haven't had the pleasure of truly experiencing their service in person myself but I hope to update with that experience one day as well. Thank you, Ocean Blui - Keep up the delicious work! read more

I was truly shocked by how good the food was since it's located inside of the mall. I ordered brown stew chicken and curry chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. The meal was a bit pricey but the serving size was good. I ate some while there but saved the rest for later. Customer service was good and the order was ready within 15 minutes. I also wanted to try the coco bread and beef patty but I'll save that for next time. Since it's inside of the food court, there's plenty of parking available so that's definitely a win. read more

The food here is absolutely amazing, but the customer service is horrible. Hiring children to run this mall restaurant is a bad idea. Where are the adults on the front line? Laughing, talking, cursing.... these kids don't care about your business. This makes zero sense if you're trying to save a dime. I literally watch multiple people walk away because of the foolishness. read more

This Caribbean spot was a pleasant surprise. I'm usually leery with mall establishments but this one was good. The jerk seasoning on the shrimp was delectable, and the jollof rice - while very spicy and not for the faint of heart, was also good. I've definitely had better plantains but they were solid. And they were friendly too which is a plus. Well done. read more

The $10 lunch special is LOVE. I've had the brown stew chicken and the curry chicken. Both hit the spot! They come with 2 sides and a drink. Only thing to steer clear of is the rum cake. The portion is TINY for $7 and the flavor was not edible to me. Everything else tasted great. read more

Here's what we had: CURRY CHICKEN - Tender, flavorful, and delicious. Would definitely order again. OXTAIL - Savory and tender. Plenty of sauce and not super fatty, just not as flavorful as we hoped. Doubt I'd order it again. Each dinner entree includes two side items. We had RICE AND PEAS and FRIED CABBAGE with both. Next time, I'm definitely ordering an extra side of fried cabbage because it was really good. The portions were plentiful, so that's a plus. Everything smelled really good, so I was anxious to try it. The service was polite. We'll be back soon to try other items and beverages. __ I eat. @f.hux I thrift. @DCthriftish read more

The food is actually good but you can never get past the horrible customer service. I stood there patiently waiting while the young lady behind the counter prepped bags and turned around looked at me and turned back around as if I was bothering her. So I left. I will just stick to ordering online and having delivered bc this is actually the 2nd time I've gone into the mall to pick up food from this location only to walk away and get something else because of the horrible customer service. read more

Horrible customer service. Came in to pick up my order and they had no customers. After giving the name of my order I was ignored and the order wasn't being made. 5 mins later other customers came in and them and their orders were attended to right away. All while I'm still standing there with no order in my hand nor my order had been started yet. I had to yell "Hey can I get my goddamn order today!?" For my order to actually be started and put together. Never again. Won't be shocked when I see this place out of business in a few months. Get it together or shut it down! read more

This company has a pattern of poor customer service incidents that occurred today. On three separate occasions, different members of my family attempted to place a carry-out order by phone. During each attempt, the staff member who answered abruptly terminated the calls when we began to place our order. This behavior affected our party of seven customers and falls significantly below expected service standards. Such conduct reflects poorly on your business and prevented us from becoming valued customers. read more

This is one of the best Jamaican spots in the area. I highly recommend if you're looking for flavorful and fulfilling Jamaican food. They are located inside of the mall which isn't the best location, but isn't too terrible to get to right in the food court. For the price you pay you get a very nice size portion as you can see from my pictures. The service is always pleasant and there's always plenty of seating. read more

Horrible customer service. They line your box up, you sit and they call you whenever. Waited over 20 minutes to find out they were out of plantains. Plantains are a must to have available at a spot like this. Service beyond slow read more

Ordered this place from doordash today and got the Rasta pasta with veggies! The only reason I took off 1 star was just because it needed some salt but that's an easy fix. Other than that, I'd definitely eat here again and try more of their food. Try it out! read more

Baby sister picked Ocean Blui for lunch based off a friend's recommendation that despite her general dislike of curry dishes, she might enjoy theirs. We both looooooveeed the curry shrimp entree from here and she usually really does typically HATE curry flavoring, but Ocean Blui's happens to be pretty mild and unique.... Like no other curry shrimp I've ever had and in a really delicious way... Almost like it should have been called something else that LOOKED like a yellow curry dish, while not actually being heavily curry spiced, if that makes sense. Our lunch food was served hot and very generously portioned, too. The jerk salmon and shrimp were delectable. Ocean Blui truly stands out for everything tasting very flavorful and as though it was cooked with some heart and soul put into the preparation. This one will be in our regular lunch rotation and is also available on DoorDash, if you're not in the mood to venture to the mall's food court. read more

Hubby was @ St. Charles Center, asked him to pick me up a meal. 1st time customer. Will be a repeat customer, as the meal was satisfying! Huge portion! My preference would have been for the curry to be more intense, but I won't penalize the rating. Curry goat and oxtail are on my list. read more

Despite them forgetting an entire meal in my doordash order and us having to drive up there to get our food and them not even apologizing or comping us....the stewed red snapper !! Omg. Soooo good ! I got the white rice and cabbage as my sides. My son loved his oxtails, white rice, and cabbage too. We also got an order of plantains which were delicious as well. Despite the delivery debacle; we'd definitely eat here again. Next time we are shooting for 5 stars. read more

This stuff is fire. The combination of the chickpeas and spicy rice give a great hot yet mellow delicious experience. Rice is about your average mall rice 3/5 but the spice & herbs bring it back. But once you mix it with the chick peas it blends greatly. Plantains are ‍ say no less. Enviroment is very chill and relaxed. Quick service as well during a lunch rush. Overall highly recommend! read more

I've tried 3 other Caribbean restaurants in the area and I feel like this is the best. I think they get a bad rep because it's in a mall but it's decently priced and the food is really good! You also get a good amount of food. I will continue to support them. read more

We visited Ocean Blui Grill located in the food court of St. Charles mall. The customer service was great. We ordered the 2 meat platter, 2 patties (spinach & veggie), vegetable platter with chickpeas and salmon and shrimp Rasta pasta. Nothing appeared to be fresh, the food gave precooked or leftovers vibes. For the 2 meat platter we ordered curry and brown stew chicken. We were given curry goat and brown stew chicken. We called to make them aware and they were very accommodating. The patties were very doughy. The other food was edible, the rice and peas was mushy and clumped together, the chickpeas and plantains were mushy. The Rasta pasta the noodles seemed old and flat, the vegetables were frozen, the seafood was over cooked (seemed as if it was frozen too) and the sauce was scarce and oily. The cabbage was great! The store front was overall clean. The quality and price point didn't align. read more

Delish! My first time trying this place and I'm not disappointed at all. I tried the stew chicken, rice and peas and cabbage with a beef patty. A new little gem in St Charles mall but the flavor is on point. Get their hours because they do not follow the mall hours and you're going to want to try this place. Curry goat and roti is perfection! Snapper was amazing also! read more

Delicious food and fast service! I enjoyed my shrimp Rasta pasta + cocoa bread! Located in the food court of the mall.

The food was authentic. Portion size was more than adequate. Service was fast and efficient. This was not fast food at all.

Food is always fresh, and customer service is excellent. The curry goat is always good!

The food was very Flavorful and they give pretty large portions! I'm glad I stumbled upon this place. Delicious

Best place on this side of town handssssss down. I will only go to this place from Prince Frederick to Waldorf. Only thing is the hours vary

Can you get a stellar meal at the mall? Yes. As long as you are going to Ocean Blui Grill. Absolutely amazing Jamaican food. Authentic and satisfying. Jerk flavor is on point. Brown Stew Chicken is on point. Curry goat is on point. Delicious peas and rice, patties, and curry chickpeas. Friendly service. Only took away one point because their roti is in sealed bags, which makes it too rubbery. But we will eat here again and again and again. read more

Amazing food good prices. When you work all day and need some Caribbean food in your belly. This is the best in the area

This was my 2nd time here. First time I got curry shrimp. I didn't like the shrimp. It was like they used precooked shrimp and threw the sauce on it. This time, however, it was delicious. Red Snapper was cooked perfectly. The sautéed peppers and onions and sauce were delicious. Reminded me of Sint Maarten or Jamaica. The veggies were cooked perfectly as well. Rice and peas were good too. I think the price was fair for the size of the fish. I would definitely order this again. Order early though, I actually got the last one and it was around 4pm on a Sunday. read more

Brown stew chicken is good. Rice and peas is sometimes overcooked and sometimes undercooked. Plantain are good. But the customer service is awful. If you inconvenience them in the slightest way, their attitude turns instantly sour. The cashier misunderstood me and that caused the woman preparing my order to have to restart it. All it took was a quick scoop out and container change. But the way she became rude, you would've thought I made her redo a 10 plate order. As a black woman, I can say this is a consistent experience at every Caribbean restaurant. If Americans irritate y'all so much, go home. We don't deserve the mistreatment. Sincerely, a fed up Black American woman. read more

I love the food here but it is inconsistent. Some days it's incredible! Meat is tender and tasty; Rice is perfect and fluffy with the hint of coconut milk. Other times, it's the opposite. Platain is hit and miss as well. They never seem to have the Red Snapper fish, either. read more
