The food was great but their hospitality left a lot to be desired. We had the Walking Dead burger and the Game of Thrones burger. We ordered them medium and they came out virtually raw. After sending them back, they came our great. Flavor was spot on and the portion size was big. The house made chips that came with them were delicious as well. In addition to the burgers, we just had to try the Mac and cheese. It was cheesy and gooey. Definitely a good choice! As for hospitality, we came in to try this place for the first time. We were greeted with a smile and a nod when we came in but then ignored. Finally, we had to ask if we could seat ourselves. After sitting down, they brought our menus and took our orders. We had to get up and go to the counter to ask for the cups to get ourselves our drinks. And when our food came out undercooked we had to again walk to the counter to tell someone since no one ever came to the table to check on us. After eating our meal, we again returned to the counter to ask for our check and pay. Overall, the food is great, but I think this staff is better poised for take out service versus eat-in hospitality. read more

I've been supporting this establishment for years. First the Laurel location & now here in Brandywine. Some of my go to items are jerk salmon, curry shrimp, shrimp tacos, and the popular Rasta pasta... the herb coconut Parmesan sauce is yummy but I ask for light sauce now. Consistent Quality. In the interest of time, I place all my orders online. The staff is accommodating and Mad Cow is very friendly to the cycling community. My bike club has organized rides departing from both locations and we dined outside after the rides. One issue that can easily be addressed. I enjoy plantains but no longer order from here due to the shabby quantity. Mad cow charges $6 for a side and there are normally 5 or less pieces inside the cup. I won't run down the list of places that charge the same amount but you get much more. Aside from that, it's good! . Support!! read more

I never enjoy posting a negative review, however, sometimes it's necessary to do so. I visited Mad Cow Grill- Brandywine today and ordered their Oxtails with two sides (spinach and plantains). This was not my first time at Mad Cow so I was looking forward to the meal. I've ordered this same meal multiple times at this location so I had no hesitation or reason to believe the portion would be any different. There was no real wait time. The guy who took my order was pleasant enough. I was going to also order the Curry chicken and was told they didn't have any today. He added that the meal came with four oxtails. Sounded great I'm thinking I'll have enough for lunch tomorrow. When the food came out I took a quick peak in the bag/container. I saw four pieces and the sides I asked for and I was out the door. When I got home ready for this meal I realized they sold me a single piece of Oxtail that was cut into four sections or slices. And to make matters worse the meat is was tough. They charged me thirty dollars for this. Not sure what happened to Mad Cow Brandywine but they sould be ashamed of themselves. I love to support local small businesses in my community however, the customer deserves reasonable value for what they pay for. I'm very disappointed and unfortunately I would not recommend or support this location again. read more

I pride myself on being intelligent and calling ahead. However, I now find myself waiting for my food. This place is a dungeon. It's that IRAQ HEAT. LordT, please order ahead or you will have to survive Sauna like conditions. I was trying to choose some desert but, the display is sweating so profusely... I placed my order at 1:30 and it is now 2:03PM and I need to be some where at 2:30. I almost cancelled my order. read more

When you live across the country and are craving some good eats, this is one of the spots to check out. The food is nothing short of delicious and flavorful. This is billed as a Caribbean place, and it tasted pretty authentic to me. We ordered the jerk wings, the jerk chicken meal, the turkey burger sandwich, a side of macaroni and cheese, and the grilled fish tacos. The Mac and cheese was bursting with flavor! The jerk chicken and my was awesome, with a slight (but necessary) kick of spice. We also checked out some of the cakes: banana cream and a strawberry cream cake. The banana cream was much softer than the strawberry one, but both were bursting with flavor. Place your order ahead of time, if you want to enjoy the food within a reasonable time of your hunger. Parking is available out front and there's also space in back of the restaurant as well. read more

This is my second visit to the Mad Cow Grill. I was extremely pleased with my food. However, now that I'm visiting for a second time, I come to recognize that customer service during both visits is initially slow. I stood at an empty register for approximately 5 minutes waiting to give my order. The staff who did come to register was inaudible, and I find I have to lean in just hear him. My intent was to sit and have a meal. Considering the tables were left uncleared, i asked could someone to clear a table, but that went undone. I opted for something quick (beef patty) instead of oxtails because I was not feeling that the meal would be any better than the customer service or the ambiance of the place. This establishment potential is there. But it is quickly falling into another poorly managed restaurant. Please do better! read more

Everything was delicious I think the jerk chicken could've been a bit spicier for my liking but overall very good and fall of the bone, the rice was so good and the Mac and cheese was perfect I would recommend this place for lunch Service was pretty good as well and the vibe is very laid back. read more

I've been wanting to try this place and since I was in the area I stopped and got lunch for my dad& I. The "unforgettable " oxtails lacked flavor and at $23 all you get is 2 pieces. The rice&peas tasted like it was made with basmati rice and the cabbage had an interesting flavor. It looked like they seasoned it with curry but it didn't taste like curry. The mac&cheese was just ok. The rasta pasta had a nice taste to it and is the only thing I'd get again. I doubt I will eat here again. There are too many other options with better flavors read more

Visited this spot following a long bike ride with my friends. Very nice location. Friendly staff! Food is Jamaican fare and is absolutely delicious! I had the curry chicken with spinach. The chicken was spicy but not overly spicy. Spinach was flavorful and very tasty! My friend had the Rasta Pasta which was equally delicious! Went with a friend to try something new. Service was good. Waiter did a great job explaining the history of the restaurant and made recommendations. Was headed toward one of the Caribbean dishes when I saw a tray of burgers walk by. Each burger was stacked sky high, skewered by a bamboo pick to keep it all together. Immediately turned to the burger page in the menu and was captivated by the combinations listed. Ordered the Game of Thrones burger with a side of the truffle mac and cheese. The burger was good and it came out a bit The brie was a nice flavor. Never had that on a burger before. The winner, hands down, was the mac and cheese as conveyed by our waiter. Good portion and one of the best I have had in a restaurant in some time. Little too much oil in the bottom of the dish, but who cares when everything above it was so good! Desserts are made locally. I had a piece of the orange cake (forgot to take a pic, sorry). It was good. Solid dessert with the cake having a good flavor and texture. Icing was good, too, but I left most of it to save some calories. Will definitely go back to try the recommended Caribbean dishes next time. read more

I went here for lunch and the place is located in the mall very easy to find. Parking was good and the place not so crowded, some people were picking up food and some were eating inside like us. I'm so sad to write this review. I'll start nicely by saying the customer service was amazing! But unfortunately I did not enjoy my meal at all if I were you I would stick to the Jamaican dishes. I got the mad cow wings. They do not look like that Smokey wing amazing pictures I saw on the website and on here. It was seasoned but just plain party wings. thought it would be smoked wings I also got the Mac and cheese and cake. I didn't like those either :( If you aren't a sugar person and enjoy that light texture of icing, this is your type of cake. Unfortunately I'm a birthday cake type of girl so I was expecting it to be sweeter. All in all, I don't think I will be coming back to this location for wings. I'm sure the Jamaican dishes are banging though!! read more

The food is better than decent however the customer service is lack lustre at best. I have given this place a second chance only to be disappointed both times.. This spot has a lot of potential it's sad to see it wasted this way. Finally! A quality Caribbean restaurant nearby! Loved: Customer service. Every employee was polite in greeting and making recommendations and dining in service. It wasn't busy so I was able to have my food in minutes...I'm sure that may change as they become more popular and extend their hours. The food was pretty good and filling! Black owned! Musts: Try the oxtails and curried cabbage! Oxtails come with plantains but I replaced with cabbage and the cabbage was my favorite! Oxtails fell off the bone! Eh: Only 4 stars for now because they have modified hours and no bar or brunch yet. I believe it's coming tho, and I'll be back for it! read more

First if you are in a hurry, don't stop off here expecting fast service. I waited 25 minutes for jerk wings and a beef patty. I also asked for a cup for ice and was told it would be $3.25 No ice for me. The wings were ok. Not exactly very jerk but good and tender. The beef patty was decent. Sure wish i could have gotten a cup of ice, that definitely rubbed me the wrong way. Like i was wiling to pay a dollar or so but $3.25 for ice? I may visit again if i order online first and give them plenty of time as to not have to wait. read more

That jerk salmon, macaroni and cheese and jerk cabbage yum yum. Excellent spot this is my go to.

I was looking to find a new restaurant offering authentic Caribbean food close to me. My heritage is Jamaican and Trinidadian and there are some core dishes that I love to eat on a regular basis. I came across Mad Cow. After reading through what I found on Mad Cow I decided to give it a go and ordered from their new Brandywine location. I ordered something for each member of my family (see pics). It was ALL good. The rice and peas with the curry gravy was flavorful. The Coco Bread was soft with a bit of a crunch that was a huge hit with me. The patties were spot on with a flaky crust and a nice mild taste. My mom enjoyed the plaintains. My son and his girlfriend thought their dishes were pretty good. The desserts...so yummy! That Creamsicle Cake with the White Chocolate icing is amazing. I have a very big sweet tooth and this cake was immensely good to me. We also had the Strawberry Crumble and Red Velvet Cake. Nothing disappointed. For sure I will be back. Also, kudos to the Brandywine staff for having my order ready shortly after I arrived (within 5 minutes). It was complete (nothing missing), packaged well, and hot! I did pick-up. It's located in Brandywine Crossing so parking is easy. read more

Nice spot in Brandywine, adds some variety to the eating scene. The Rasta pasta is delicious, but the portions continue to be less and less with each visit. Even though the quantity has decreased, the quality remains. And you have to have some coco bread with your meal. read more

I saw the Amazing/Powerful Till Movie and decided Why not! Plus I've been waiting to knock this off my list since it got here!!.. I've noticed Everything is different but the cow theme of things!!.. this set up was much smaller and you don't get separate booths it's one long booth and a table in front making up 3 tables and a booth each, nevertheless it's comfortable. Today a young lady was the server/cashier/waitress but it was relatively slow as she said but it was a nice quant little place you can grab lunch or with friends or a simple date night. So My Mom ordered the grilled jerk chicken that comes with two sides, I got the unforgettable Oxtails, I kept hearing Great things!! To go! I got the Rasta pasta for my mom and the chocolate Hennessy cake for me and the salmon dinner for my brother. Everything was so flavorful truly authentic island cuisine down to the buttery soft coco bread the portions are pretty much feeding 2 ppl. A lady I was chatting with tho said the Mamas Mac is bomb!! So I'm definitely coming back!!... Thank You Mad Cow for such a great first try of you guys! read more

This is a Hidden gem in Brandywine with good service and delicious Caribbean food. I recommend the jerk chicken wrap or the Rasta pasta.

No hello or any type of greeting as I stand there until I say, excuse me. Two workers on their cell phones. No forks for my to go order.

Went for Turkey burger. It was huge and delicious. You cold make two burgers for the amount you had. This is more of a carry out restaurant.

I really enjoyed my visits at the Mad Cow Grill in Laurel. So I was excited to visit the Mad Cow Grill in Brandywine. Unfortunately, the atmosphere at the Brandywine location is very different and not in a positive way. The staff seems immature and I was unable to determine who was the manager. The food was good, but not so good that I would be sure to come back. What I was very unsettled about is what was playing on the televisions, Walking Dead, was on one and Games of Thrones, on the other in the middle of a Saturday afternoon?! I did ask if the shows/channel could be changed and was told something about it being a video or something like that. I'm glad I didn't have a young child with me. Lastly, the air conditioning wasn't working well on the hottest day in the area since last year. read more

Not at all a Caribbean type of environment. I mean really, where is the curry goat or the roti. Please don't serve the community as such. You need to take the little bit of Caribbean food off the menu and stick to the wings and burgers which is the majority of your dishes. Not even excited about the deserts either read more

I called ahead to order my food, arrived in 30 minutes and waited maybe another 10 minutes for my food. The place was empty. I received my food and went on home. The oxtails were definitely a hit, tender and flavorful. The cabbage was pretty tasty but cold so I had to warm it. There was a $3 up charge for the worst mac & cheese I had ever seen. The cheese was just crusted on top it did not stretch, there was no cheese inside, just yellow dry noodles. The plantain was okay but it was cut in rather large chunks. I would likely return even if only for the oxtails but for the price, I was definitely expecting a better prepared meal. read more

I can't go here anymore. I would travel from far to support Chef Neville at his old restaurant. When he with Mad Cow Grill, I still traveled far to support. The service at the Brandywine location is extremely poor. I stopped going many months ago after I had to complain to a woman who said she was the manager. I complained about the nasty, deplorable attitude of the man at the register. He was very mean-spirited. She assured me that it would be addressed. Well, many months later I debated on returning for a meal. I'm not sure if it is the same man, nevertheless, a very mean, unfriendly man is at the register. I'm not returning permanently this time. People do not spend money at restaurants just to get hostility in return. read more

The food was very good and ready when I arrive to pick it up. The staff were very friendly . I would tell everyone to eat there .

So at first, we were thrown off by the name. After taking a look at their menu... we were quickly drawn in! Okay... so the food is delicious. Fresh, hot and definitely a touch of that Caribbean flare! We ordered a little bit of everything. Jerk salmon, chicken, curry, wings and Mac and cheese. The wings were even delicious!!! For dessert we had a slice of the banana pudding cake. All in all... we were completely satisfied and this spot is now on our favorites list. There was a small wait for the food but that's perfectly fine when you're getting fresh hot food. Customer service was great! The restaurant was clean. Don't be alarmed by the dark inside... it will look closed but I think it's just the window tint. Oh the Brandywine location is closed on Sundays and Mondays. read more
