I found this place by luck. The place I was looking for closed before I got there so I started searching for Caribbean food. I am pleased that I found this place. The service was within the normal range for homemade food; and the staff was pleasant. I've been to DJH on a number of different occasions. I've tried Uber Eats and pick up and have been pleasantly surprised each time. Customer service has been really good on each occasion as well which is always a plus. A few of my favorite items are the patties and fried chicken entree. Since this establishment is on my way home, very often I will make a pickup order and everything is ready on my arrival. I have yet to try the jerk chicken but oxtails and curry goat are indeed decent. Easily one of my favorite go to Jamaican restaurants in the local area. The rice & peas surprised me... the rice appeared to have a basmati base. Do other spots do that? Am I just unaware? I was super disappointed in my Rasta pasta. It tasted like someone over cooked the pasta and then threw thousand island dressing on it. I let the staff know when I came in and told them they might wanna try it.. He remade it within maybe 10 minutes or less and it looked the exact same when he gave it back to us except this time they put extra Parmesan cheese. I called to place an order and the guy was a little snippy over the phone. That's when I knew the food was gonna be good. Then when I drove up there there was music playing from a large speaker in front of the store and some older men hanging out in lawn chairs by the parking lot. I thought "this food is about to hit!" And when I saw the cook wipe his hands with the gloves on instead of just putting new gloves on, I thought about cancelling my order but I also knew he's probably the best cook in his family. This is my third time going. The first time I went about 15mins before closing and ordered the jerk chicken. The guy in the back is making my food, and now he comes towards the front and stops and after about 30 seconds of him staring in space, I asked what he was doing.
