Authentic Jamaican food at its best. Expansive menu! Service and ambiance is the typical Jamaican carry out experience. If you want the real deal go there.

Food was good,or I was just starved...I ordered the Ox Tails which were mainly bones...The rice & peas with cabbage & I got maybe a spoon & half of cabbage which was good...I also wanted gravy on my rice & peas which I didn't get...And the rice & peas could use more peas & not be so dry ...

Ordered take out here. I was lured by the high reviews on the app and it was a let down. First I ordered the large ox tail dinner. I put in a note for "extra gravy." So I received four small ox tails and no extra gravy. Lots of rice, lots! It tasted good but this is far too small a portion for $20. Don't even bother ordering a large. The vegetables were ok. A little crunchy for my taste but not bad. Maybe could have used a little more seasoning. I'm not going to even review my second dish because I'm so turned off by the first. I will say that the portion looked more normal for the price point for the stewed chicken.

Someone I met who's caribbean recommended this place. He said the oxtails were really good. I can say the oxtail gravy was good.. as for the oxtails it was kinda hard to know bc they gave me oxtail bones with barely any meat on it! It was soooo disappointing! I ordered a large oxtail dinner with rice & peas & steamed cabbage. I paid $15.50 and got rice & peas, steamed cabbage & oxtail gravy.. I had to deep through the rice & oxtail gravy to find the oxtails.. I had to take a picture bc I couldn't believe it. I won't be returning.. it was a huge letdown!

I've carried out from Caribbean Superior many times over the years. The vegetarian sampler includes rice & peas, veggies and a few pieces of fried plantain. Veggie patty and coco bread are available. Picking up food for friends - two small orders of stewed chicken, a piece of cake and a bottle of ginger beer was $29. It's a small cafe which can get crowded quickly. Expect it to seem a bit loosely operated, but they turn orders pretty quickly. Seating area is better for waiting on orders - rather than dining in. Look for extra parking at far end of shopping center.

It's something that's only available from 7:00-11:00am on weekends, and I'm usually sleeping in or just not ready to get out of the house that early. My family and I were leaving for NY early on a Saturday morning, and I had no choice but to be awake and ready. So before we took off, I took advantage! It was around 8:30am and I was the only one in the restaurant. But it smelled amazing in there and they were friendly and happy! I had glimpsed the menu online, and I was scanning their screens for it above the register, but they had their regular menu up. I was walked through the options, and even got to taste a few things. I got to try sa\da roti for the first time, and I was intrigued. It's very similar to pita bread, but after looking it up I learned of the subtle differences. I was able to put pumpkin, smoked herring, saltfish, or eggplant & potatoes in it. I got food for my parents as well, so I settled on quite a few things: -Sada roti w/ pumpkin -Sada roti w/ eggplant/potatoes -Bake & saltfish -3 aloo pies Everything... was... STELLAR. I tasted the smoked herring and I honestly wish I got that in something, but I most certainly will next time. Is this the best Trini restaurant in the DMV?!

This was my second visit. The first time, the service felt a little cold, but this time was a huge improvement. The women at the front desk were working non-stop; taking in-person orders, answering phones, packing food, handing off Uber Eats orders, basically running the entire operation. They were clearly working hard and keeping everything moving as efficiently as possible despite how packed it was. I ordered the large brown stew meal with cabbage only, plus an extra order of jerk chicken (dark meat, mild). The food was exactly what I hoped for: comforting, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Bottom line: the food had to be good because this place stayed BUSY!!! Definitely worth the wait if you're craving solid Jamaican food.

When I tell you that oxtail was falling off the bone? 10/10. The brown stew chicken was flavorful, tender, and cooked just right. The cabbage was seasoned perfectly, not soggy, not bland. Everything on that plate hit. No complaints about the food whatsoever. The space itself is small, clean, and minimally decorated. Nothing fancy, but very well-kept, and I appreciate that. Service was good. The owner personally took care of me and accommodated my request to swap out the rice for extra cabbage with no issue. I always appreciate when owners are hands-on and attentive. Now for the hiccup: the credit card machine wasn't working, so I had to pay via Cash App. Not ideal, but okay. What almost took me out was the attempt to add a service charge. I definitely spoke up because that extra $1? Yeah... it was about the principle. Sheesh. Overall, the positives outweighed the minor inconvenience. The food alone would have me coming back. And for me, that says a lot.

Their HH runs Mon-Fri from 5-7 and include 5-7 cocktails, beer, and wine that they offer at $2ish off the regular price. We stuck with the cocktails and had their Blue Lagoons (which are essentially electric blue vodka lemonades) for $8ish. They were tasty and after 2 of them, we were definitely ready to party. Next time, I want to try the rum punch for $10 - though I noticed the rum punch was premade (vs being made fresh per order). Unfortunately, there are no food offers on the happy hour. The spot was very empty when we arrived, maybe around 5.30p - there was one other couple enjoying time at the bar. Outside of the 8-10 bar seats, they have some lounge level seating, as well as more standard 4-top tables. At the very front of the area, is a small stage where DJ's and karaoke specialists set up. The food was really good; I had the curry chicken plate for $16ish and my girlfriend had the shrimp rasta pasta for $19ish. The food was very flavorful and came out piping hot from the kitchen. I'd get the curry again, for sure. The environment and vibe was the most enjoyable part of my visit; the hip hop and top40's music gave the place a great energy (but wasn't so loud that you couldn't chat. The bartenders were energetic, lively, and friendly. There seemed to be alot of regular patrons who knew each other and the bartenders - that's a really good sign. The star of the show was karaoke which started around 8 (when the bar was getting much more crowded). The karaoke host was great; she kept the group energized and led some karaoke style games and activities that I hadn't seen before. We ended up stay out way longer than expected because we were having such a nice time. I look forward to my next happy hour at JCK. Pro tip: It looks like they have coordinated, promoted parties twice a month on Fridays. And on the other Fridays, they have the 'standard' karaoke nights. And now it all makes sense -- some time last year, Jamaican Country Kitchen expanded, and now they've got this place, DJ booth, dance floor, bar, lounge, restaurant, all in one. And I gotta say, it was a vibe. The staff was nice and I loved the decor and feel of the place.
